Sippin is a beautiful 66lb red girl that just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race track. She raced 170 races so had a long career. She also raced at Naples Ft Myers, Flagler, Mardi Gras and Dubuque tracks, so traveled around quite a bit. She mainly raced at the lower D levels but did get up to the top A level briefly during her career. Her trainer says she is a sweet girl that keeps her crate clean and is very quiet. Sippin is very reserved at first with strangers but does warm up with time. Her sire is the famous KC and All and her dam is Rain On Me. She turned 4 on January 16th. Sippin still needs tested with cats and small dogs. As expected, Sippin was very overwhelmed by the move from the track kennel into a foster home. The first day it took her foster family 5 hours to catch her and get her back in the house after a potty break in their fenced yard. Sippin just was too afraid to come back inside or to let people she didn't know close enough to her to catch her. So she will need to be leash walked until she gets to know her new family. She is just timid and will need time and patience. She was friendly and happy at the track with the trainers she knew and loved. It may take a few weeks or even a few months for her to warm up to a new family and new environment. She is starting to slowly warm up and follows her foster family from room to room but stays just out of reach most of the time. She is very quiet and never makes a peep. Sippin has done really well on walks in the neighborhood with other greyhounds and seems to gain confidence from being with a more confident greyhound. She would love to have a greyhound brother or sister and a safely fenced yard in her new home. Sippin just glanced at the cats she saw in the vet's office and didn't even try to go near them so we think she would be OK to live with cats and small dogs.
