Rainbow Bridge
These greyhounds were all adopted through Greyhound Crossroads and have passed away or as we like to say "crossed the Rainbow Bridge". If you would like us to add your greyhound to this list please email us here. Include your greyhound's racing name, nickname, color, gender, and a paragraph or two about your dog and your favorite photo. You can also include when you adopted your dog and when it passed away if you would like to. We have been adopting out dogs for years and our current website was put up in 2009. This list is far from complete. We apologize that we have not been able to add many of the dogs that were adopted previous to 2009.
Vinny just arrived from the Bolton Racing Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. We placed his littermates B Dom Perignon and B My Brandy already. Some of our volunteers co-own his sister B My Sherry who is still racing. Vinny raced 45 races and also raced at Naples Ft Myers in Florida. He had a great start in racing winning his first 4 races and going straight up to the top A level. Vinny mainly competed at the top A and B levels. In early September he got bumped by another dog during a race and hurt his hip. They took him out of racing to heal up for over 2 months. He started racing again in November and won his first race at the top A level, so seemed to be completely healed up. He got bumped again in another race and slowed down just a bit and started dropping levels. His trainer found that he had a little soreness in his hip right after races, so they decided to retire him. He is not limping now and his hip should not bother him as a pet. Since Vinny retired due to soreness he should stay retired and not do lure coursing or agility. He is fine to run and play normally and shouldn't have any trouble as a pet. Vinny turned 3 on May 18th. His sire is Golden Squire and his dam is B My Merlot. He passed his cat and small dog tests very easily without any interest in either. He just stepped over the small dog as if he wasn't even there. Vinny was vetted in Columbia and his foster mom decided to keep him. |

Breezy initially came in from the Daytona Beach race track, where she was known as Easy. She was renamed to Breezy by her first adoptive family. She has been in a home since October of 2016 and is now looking for a new home again She is a very tiny 47lbs brindle female. Breezy's DOB is 5/26/12 so she is a senior girl now. She had a long racing career. She raced 144 races at Daytona Beach Race Track and retired on September 17th. Her trainer takes her children to work with her and the kids help with turnouts and feeding so all the dogs are used to being around children. Easy's sire is Kiowa WW Brother and her dam is WW's Dogwood. We placed her brother WW's Doggy Bag already. Easy passed her cat test at the track kennel so should be fine living with cats and small dogs. She is a sweet brindle girl that now has a lot of white on her face. This is a sweet girl that is very underweight and needs some TLC. Breezy passed away Sept 20th of 2024 due to stomach cancer. |

Cinder (formerly Dauber) came in initially from the Sanford Orlando track. He is an extra large guy that raced at 82lbs. He raced 6 races and won only one of those. He just turned 3 on August 14th so is a young guy. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Danu. Cinder is a white male with red spots with just a few brindle stripes in the spots. He is a very calm, friendly boy that will lean against you and put his head on your lap. He travels well and crates very quietly. When he did lay down, if one of the other dogs fussed at him he would stand back up and try to avoid trouble. Seems like a gentle giant and a very polite boy. He is great on leash and is not a marker inside or outside. Cinder passed his cat and small dog tests and did well with a toddler that was at his first foster home. He has been in an adoptive home for nearly a year and did great with them. Shortly after they went on a long trip out of the country and moved their dogs in with their parents, there was an altercation between their two greyhound boys. They felt that it would be better to rehome Cinder since he was the most recent addition. No one was home when it happened, so we don't know what happened. Cinder has a couple small tears in his ear and the other dog had to have stitches. Because we don't know what happened or why, even though Cinder has always been wonderful with other dogs, he may need to be an only dog. Cinder has no prey drive toward small dogs or cats and seems like a very gentle guy that has always avoided trouble. On his trip back to us from Oklahoma, a bossy girl kept barking and growling at him over her space. He just curled up in the corner as far away as he could get from her and looked scared. He didn't bark or growl back or even look at her. Cinder passed away suddenly on September 16, 2023 at the age of 10. |

Peg is a beautiful white and black girl that is a littermate to Dream that we just adopted out. She looks a lot like her, mostly white with black spots. She raced at 57lbs so is a smaller girl. She raced at several tracks starting at Wheeling Downs in WV then moving to Daytona Beach in FL and finally to Birmingham AL where she retired. She raced 58 races and only won 3 of those but managed to place enough to make some money and continue racing. She will turn 3 on May 7th. Her sire is TK Quick Strike and her dam is Hamparsum. She is an outgoing, happy, girl. She likes people and is very waggy and greets everyone happily. No one is a stranger to this sweet girl. Sadly Mom Peg Crossed the Bridge in February of 2023 after being struck by a car. She will be missed. |

If you like big dogs Tuesday is your boy! He is a huge 84lb greyhound that is 4 years old. He was a good racer that we knew from kennel visits years ago when he first started racing at Sanford Orlando. He was such a big, happy, friendly, boy that we loved him the minute that we saw him, everyone did. He was a good racer that wasn't close to retiring then though. We were thrilled when he retired from Melbourne recently and he popped back up. He raced 156 races and also raced briefly at Sarasota. Tuesday is a very friendly boy with a great personality. He is pretty calm though. He will celebrate his 5th birthday on September 1st. Tuesday was pretty interested in chasing cats so needs a home with out them but did fine with the small dogs he has met. He has a little bit of white ticking on his back that looks a bit like snow. Tuesday's sire is the famous Kiowa Mon Manny and his dam is Truly Julie. Tuesday was adopted by a family in Greenville SC and was very loved. He crossed the bridge in February of 2023 because old age related mobility issues. He was the best boy and will be missed. |

Gonzo just arrived from the Sanford Orlando race track. She is a small girl that raced at 57lbs. She raced at Bluffs Run, Dubuque, Mardi Gras and Sanford Orlando so she traveled around. She was a good racer and did get up to A level. Her sire is the very famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Glimmer. She just turned 4 on May 1st. Gonzo was very quiet in her kennel at the track so her trainer thinks she might be a good dog for apartment or townhouse living. She is a friendly girl that seems relaxed and sweet. No surprise that she travels well. She passed her cat and small dog tests easily. Like most greyhounds Gonzo did show more interest in a running cat, so will need supervision at first and some training not to play with cats. Gonzo was adopted in September of 2015 and called Padme. She lived 7 years with her family before passing away in September of 2022. You broke the mold when it comes to dogs. |

Hi my name is Ozaki and I am special because I have 3 legs! Ozaki came in to us initially from the Mardi Gras Race Track in Florida. He was a good racer and also raced at Dubuque and was a finalist in the 2016 Iowa Breeders Cup Stakes Race. He only raced 36 races though. He broke his leg at the end of December 2016. His racing owner had an expensive surgery done to fix the leg before we got him. He was rehabbed at the track in the kennel there for months. When he was sent to us, he still had swelling and infection in the leg and was not healing up well. Our vet did a biopsy on his leg to find out what was going on. It turns out he had an infection that was resistant to common antibiotics, and we had to change his treatment to daily antibiotic injections. After 2 weeks of daily injections the leg continued to get worse and the daily antibiotic injections caused a huge open spot between his shoulders and a lot of pain. Our vet felt the infected leg was beginning to poison his body and needed to be removed. Ozaki came through the amputation great and did fantastic on 3 legs. His trainer had told us about his great friendly, goofy personality and said he was one of his favorites in the kennel. The staff that worked with him at our vet clinic agreed. One of them fell in love with him and adopted him once he was released by the vet. Ozaki raced at 79lbs. His sire is the very famous SH Avatar and his dam is Money Maid. Ozaki turned 7 on June 11th. When Ozaki first arrived he seemed like a sensitive guy that was a little stressed about the haul and everything new. When we were loading him in the van he had to be lifted in, then wouldn't put his legs down. We had to slide him in on his side on the dog beds. That one step up just made him literally freeze. He was OK a second later, up on his feet sniffing around. Sweet, goofy, guy! He is very friendly guy but may have just a bit of a dramatic side. Ozaki was adopted in June of 2017 and was happily living on a farm with cats, other dogs and farm animals. He never has had any trouble getting around on 3 legs and runs nearly as fast as a 4 legged greyhound. Recently his family reported that he was being destructive and chewing things and returned him to us to be re-homed. So far he has not had any bad behaviors in foster care and has settled right in without any trouble. He seems like he is a very well behaved guy with great house manners. He could resort to chewing again if he gets bored, but just using a crate or a kennel muzzle when he isn't supervised would easily prevent any damage. He gets along well with his foster mom's other dogs, small and large. He and one of his foster mom's other males sleep cuddled up together on a dog bed. Although he loves kids when he meets them, we don't think he should live in a home with small children. His former family reported that he could be protective with his space when he was laying down on a couch or bed - they didn't allow him on furniture for that reason. Ozaki was adopted in August of 2021 and called Zaki. He only got a year and a half with his new family. He crossed the bridge at the end of 2022, due to paralysis from a tumor and degenerative disc in his spine. He will be missed. |

Mocha just arrived from the Palm Beach Race Track. She only had two official races and fell in her first one and finished last in her second one. She was slow so was retired young. Mocha is a small girl that raced at 57lbs. She just turned 2 on December 1st. Her sire is Odd Skill and her dam is a girl that we placed named Rico's Tignanello. Mocha is actually being fostered with her mom. Mocha was pretty interested in the cats that she saw at the vet's office so her foster home will work with her with their cats to see if she can live with them. She is a happy, outgoing, bouncy girl that loves everyone she meets. Very sweet girl that traveled really well too. More as we get to know her. Mocha was fostered with the family that had adopted her mother Tig. They decided to keep her and adopted her in December of 2018. Mocha was diagnosed with bone cancer in November of 2021 and she crossed the bridge due to that. She is very missed by her family. |

Havoc came in initially from the Palm Beach Race Track. He had a minor soft tissue injury to one of his legs so was taken in by Pro Greyhound, a rehab facility for injured greyhounds. His injury was healed up and he was placed with an adoptive family 9/20/15. Havoc made full recovery from his old injury and can play and go for long walks. He doesn't have any permanent problem because of the injury. Havoc is a very outgoing guy that is happy and waggy. Very sweet and loving with a great personality. He raced at 75lbs so is a mid sized guy. Havoc has traveled around a bit racing at Southland in Arkansas and Bluffs Run and Dubuque in IA then Mardi Gras and Palm Beach tracks in Florida. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Gable Burma. Havoc was born on 4/14/12. Havoc's adoptive mom reports that Havoc is good with kids, cats and small dogs. Havoc has been in a home for 4 years now so is already home acclimated and being a bit older should be a calm well behaved guy. Havoc crossed the bridge in January of 2023 of age related problems. He will be missed. |

Finn came in from a farm in Florida where he has been since he retired from racing in November of 2016. He has been waiting on a group to take him for nearly a year. Finn raced 191 races all at Palm Beach. He won some and did get up to the top A level briefly, but most of his races were at the lower levels. Finn is a taller guy that raced at 76lbs. He just turned 5 on July 5th. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Atascocita Haley. He is owned by Atascocita Racing which is how he got the first part of his name. Finn is a gorgeous white boy with red spots with cute ears that stand straight up when he is watching something. Even though all his spots on his body are red he has a black spot on his tail which is very unusual and very cool. Finn travels pretty well but does like to stand and watch where he is going. He potties nicely on leash so may be fine without a fenced yard. Finn is a really nice, friendly, boy that is happy happy happy. He happily goes up to everyone he meets for attention. His trainer at the race track said he could be bossy with other males while playing. After he retired, he was turned out in a group of males at the farm and had no problems whatsoever. Since he tended to be bossy as a younger guy, he may do best in a home with females or other more submissive males. He needs a home with no kitties because he really wanted to chase the cat he met. He is very calm and well behaved around the small dog he is fostered with, so should be fine to live with them. Finn is very quiet and clean in his crate. He really liked the small children he met but got overly excited to see them so because of his size and strength we think he may do better in a home without toddlers. He would love a home with older kids he could play with. He played with kids ages 5 to 10 that came to the farm with one of the workers. Finn is the unusual greyhound that is a great swimmer and loved to swim in the lake at his first foster home. He has a lot of personality and has a lot of love to give. Finn was adopted 10/21/17 by the Regan family of NC. He was a great guy and ended being their daughter's dog. He crossed the bridge in August of 2021 after some neurological issues and will be missed. |

Lazarus is a light fawn male that only has 2 races listed at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced at 76lbs. He was retired young and was initially adopted in early 2014 before he even turned 2. He lived in that home for over a year before they gave him to a friend. He has been in the second home since. Lazarus now called Bug, is now looking for another home at 6 years old due to his family moving to Hawaii. Lazarus turned 6 on May 4th. His sire is the famous Flying Penske and his dam is Kelsos Isabella. Lazarus is a very calm guy that is quiet and well behaved. Very sweet. He did pass his cat and small dog test so should be able to live in a home with cats or small dogs. He can be a little timid with new people he meets but warmed up to his families quickly. He lived with a baby in his first home. His current home says he likes kids when he meets them. Since he can be a little timid he may not enjoy being around loud rowdy young kids long term. Most timid dogs like more quiet relaxed homes. Lazarus was adopted by the Burke Family of Greenville 12/21/18 and called Bug. Bug crossed the bridge due to Osteosarcoma in February of 2020. |

She started out racing at Tri-state and Wheeling in WV but wasn't fast enough there so was moved to Sanford Orlando, a less competitive track. She raced 35 races before retiring. Her sire is Slatex Striker and her Dam is KD Janet. She was born July 12th of 2006. She was adopted by the McGee family in 2009. She crossed the bridge in May of 2017 due to a pulmonary embolism. She was nearly 11 years old. |

Special Needs - Cushings Disease! Larry came straight from the farm to us before he was even 2 without actually making it to the race track. He and his brother just didn't show much interest in racing. Larry is a very tiny guy at just 63lbs. His sire is Iceman Brutus and his dam is WJS Raina Jem. Larry will turn 7 on Sept 19th. He has had some very bad luck and has been returned to our group twice. Larry came in with his brother Mo and was adopted with Mo by both previous owners. He was returned from his first home because he and his brother were barking at night. They were put out in an outbuilding at night and just wanted to be in the house with their family. Larry and Mo were adopted again and did fine together, unfortunately Mo passed away suddenly a in December of 2015 due to bloat. In mid 2016, Larry started acting stressed and losing weight. His owners believed he was stressed due to the loss of his brother. His family had some blood work run by their vet and found low thyroid so started him on that thyroid meds and Prozac for anxiety and sent him back to us to rehome, in hopes a home with another dog would help him. Larry was very very thin and didn't look healthy. Our vet did further testing on him and found that his actual problem was an adrenal problem called Cushings Disease that is caused by a tumor. He was started on medication for the Cushings and the prozac was stopped. The medication made a huge change in Larry, he started feeling and acting better and gaining weight right away. He has been on the medication for awhile now and our vet retested his levels and his blood work is perfect now! Our group's bill for Larry is about $1000 so far. We welcome donations to help with his care. Click here to go to our donation page. Larry will have at least two medications that he will have to take the rest of his life. Those medications will cost our group or his adoptive family about $100 a month. We don't know how fast the tumor will grow, but Larry is likely to only be with us another year or two. We are hopeful that we will find a very special adopter for Larry that will be able to afford his long term care. Other than his health issues, Larry, appears to be the perfect greyhound. He passed his cat and small dog tests and lived with both in previous homes. He would even snuggle on the bed with his cat buddy in his last home. His current foster home also has cats. Larry is a sweet, friendly, loving guy that can be silly but is very calm and perfectly behaved in his foster home. This tiny boy has the cutest little puppy face too! Larry potties nicely on leash and walks perfectly on leash, so doesn't require a home with a fenced yard, if his family is willing to leash walk him. Larry loves to snuggle and be as close to his humans as he can get. He does get worried by Thunderstorms. We were told that Larry couldn't be crated, but he has been fine being crated at his foster home within sight of other dogs. Larry seems to have bad dreams and will wake up crying sometimes, so appears to be a very sensitive guy. A generous donor has offered to pay most of Larry's adoption fee for whoever adopts him. Another generous donor is paying for Larry's first year of medication. Larry passed away 5/19/19 due to osteosarcoma. |

Reverend is a smaller brindle male that raced at 69lbs. He is a young guy that won't turn 2 until April 3rd. His sire is Lonesome Cry and his dam is CTW Lorraine. He needs a home without cats but hasn't shown any interest in small dogs whatsoever so should be fine living with them. Reverend only raced 4 races but didn't win any of them. He is being retired early because his kennel is closing. So far he is a very calm boy for one so young. He has a beautiful, red coat with a few brindle stripes. Very Stunning! Reverend was happy to stand quietly and let people pet him his first time out in public, but didn't go up to many people on his own seeking out attention. He was just a little reserved but seems like the type that will warm up fast and loves attention because he didn't shy away from anyone. He has done well in his foster home. Update from his foster mom! Reverend is settling in nicely and learning the rules about being in a home. He always prefers to be inside with the humans, but will go outside in the backyard for a walk around when he needs to. He quickly chooses a dog bed and rests with the other hounds but will be the first to jump up and check out anything new and exciting that might happen. He sleeps quietly all night long in his crate. During the day, he will complain a little when crated so probably won't be the best option for an apartment or condo with owners who are gone all day. He doesn't seem to rely on the other dogs in the home though, which means that he could probably be comfortable as the only large pet in the home. No indoor accidents so far either in the home or his crate. Reverend is very young, and that means that everything is new, different, and worth investigating. He's going to be a really nice dog for a family who understands he needs a little time and training in basic commands. Give him a chance to stand quietly next to you for attention and you may be in love with this adorable boy!! Reverend was adopted in 2015, where he thrived as a pet. He enjoyed long walks around the neighborhood and romps around the backyard, especially on cold/windy days. Rev passed away suddenly in 2021 and will be missed greatly by those who knew him. |

Meredith came to us from the Birmingham Race Track where she raced 32 races without winning a single one of them. She did place second in a few. She turned two on February 11th so is a pretty young girl. She raced at 60lbs. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is My Aunt Matilda. She passed her cat test and small dog test so should be fine to live with either. Meridith is a happy, friendly, girl that is a beautiful light fawn with brindle striping. She can be a little timid at first with men and can be a bit timid when out in new places, but that is likely to get better as she is exposed to more new things. She has gotten along fine with the other dog at her foster home. Meredith probably does need a fenced yard to potty in because she just walks on walks and doesn't stop to go potty even if another dog does. Meredith was adopted by the Liddiard Family 8/20/15 she crossed the bridge suddenly 10/18/21 just after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. |

George is a 72lb, light fawn male that has darker sabling on his fur. He gives kisses and gives a little crooked Elvis grin when happy that you can see in his pictures. George was a good racer, that raced 165 races, mostly at the top A level and even raced in a stakes race. He started out at Sanford Orlando then was moved to Derby Lane. He was owned by Don Burk and his racing name is his owner's name spelled backwards with a Y added. George's sire is Fortunate Son and his dam is Doe's Ruby. He turned 5 on June 20th. George is a very good, calm loving dog. He passed his cat and small dog test without interest in chasing either so should be fine in a home with cats or small dogs. His foster dad thinks he would be an easy addition to just about any home and would be the perfect greyhound for a first time greyhound owner. His foster dad described him as the "perfect greyhound". He has been in a home before but was returned due to one of his family members allergies to dogs.a George was adopted 10/8/2015 by the Flores Gantt Family of Gaffney SC. He crossed the rainbow bridge suddenly Nov 29th of 2022. |

Submissive is a return that was initially adopted back in November of 2013 before he was even 2 years old. He had broken his leg while training to race in Dubuque. We were asked to take him before his race career even started. His leg was healed up before being adopted to his first family. He was renamed Meno then. Although his home started out to be a good one and he was happy and spoiled, things can change over time. We just got him back from what appeared to be a poor situation. He had gotten heart worms but his owner hadn't been willing to treat it for some time. He is now being treated for heartworm and our vet is expecting him to make a full recovery. Although Meno wasn't in the best home situation he is a wonderful sweet guy. He loves to be on couches and beds and prefers those to dog beds. Meno's sire is the famous Flying Hydrogen and his dam is Slatex Sassy. He is a very smart guy that taught himself how to take off his own muzzle as a young dog before we got him. Meno travels well and is a very laid back boy that just wants love and a soft place to sleep. Meno has lived with cats and loves them. He also is good with other dogs of all sizes and kids. He lived with a female greyhound in his previous home until she passed away. He will turn 8 on March 23rd. Submissive was adopted by the Furguson family in 2020 and called Meno. His time with them was too short and he crossed the bridge very suddenly in Nov of 2022 due to a medical emergency. He was their first greyhound, but won't be their last. |

Apple is a black female greyhound that originally came in from the Melbourne Race Track in Florida. She raced 89 races, mostly at Bluffs Run in IA. She was a good racer getting up to the top A level and even competing in a Stakes race. She broke her leg in her last race on January 21st. She had surgery at the track to fix it and made a complete recovery because of the wonderful rehab given to her by Pro Greyhound and over $1100 in donations from greyhound owners across the country for her surgery. She was adopted a few months ago but had a couple of disagreements with another female greyhound in the home so she is available again. We think she would do better in a home without other female dogs because she can be pretty bossy. She did not pass her cat test so needs a home with no cats. Apple raced at 62lbs and her sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is Yahoo Olivia. Apple is a very outgoing sweet friendly girl. She is calm and gives kisses and enjoys laying upside down and in some very unusual positions. She is a very confident girl that would be likely to be the dominant dog in the pack. She showed no desire to chase the small dogs she has met and is good with ones she meets casually. Because she is big and can be bossy occasionally we don't think she should be placed in a home with small dogs. If you want an only dog that is very friendly and sweet Apple is your girl! Apple was adopted 10/2/16 by the Sewell Family and was called Scout. She crossed the bridge due to anesthesia complications during a dental in December of 2022. |

Atlas just arrived from Derby Lane in Florida but he also raced at Southland in Arkansas. He raced at total of 41 races. He is a handsome, dark brindle boy mostly black with some light fawn stripes. He just turned 3 on October 26th. He traveled well on his trip up from Florida and has been quiet in his crate since he arrived. He is very friendly and loves people. He is a pretty big guy racing at 80lbs. He does pull on the leash some because he is excited to check out everything new. He does correct pretty well though. His sire is Irish- Vina Marina and his dam is Atarah. More as we get to know him. Atlas was adopted by the King family of Greenville SC on November 27th of 2013. He crossed the bridge just over 9 years later in December of 2022. He will be missed. |

Showy is a beautiful, black, female greyhound that doesn't look 8 years old at all. She hardly has any gray on her face and is a real beauty. She raced 94 races at Mobile, Bluffs Run and Palm Beach. She got up to the top A level. She raced at 66lbs and just turned 8 on April 10th. Her sire is the famous Trent Lee and her dam is WW's Kool Show. Showy was sent back to the farm after her racing career was over to be a mom. She had a litter of 11 puppies in January of 2013 that are racing now. She also just weaned a litter of puppies. She came to us from the farm in Abilene Kansas and is ready for her own couch, after retiring from her second career. She is friendly and happy meeting people and is curious about her surroundings and not a bit timid. She can be a bit bossy and is quick to correct wild puppy behavior as you would expect from a momma dog. She seems like a confident, happy girl. She has been living with cats and she showed no prey drive toward a small white dog in her foster home. Because Showy is an older girl she qualifies for our reduced adoption fee of $200. Showy was adopted in November of 2016 and called Maggie Moo. She lived a long happy life until she passed away in September of 2022 of congestive heart failure and cancer. Fly my sweet Moo Moo! Such a great mama to the Wiedman Pack! |

Katie is a very tiny, shy, black female with white toes and chest. Katie was so shy she couldn't race due to her fear of strangers. Her sire is Rhythmless and her dam is Ucme Instantly. Her birthday is September 2nd and she is 2 years old. After meeting Katie she appears to have not been socialized with humans as a puppy so is very fearful like a wild animal would be. She does not approach her foster mom yet and circles around warily still. She seems a little curious when she has food but will not take food from her but will eat it if her foster mom puts it down near her. We have placed several other unsocialized greyhounds that ended up making wonderful pets. They do take months if not a year to warm up to their new family. They do need a family that will be very patient with them. Most of the time they don't get comfortable with strangers or going out to new places and are homebodies that are happier just staying in their own familiar environment. They are normally not just fearful of people but of anything new and any change in their routine. Katie will need a home with a securely fenced yard since she is far too nervous to potty on leash outside of a fenced area. Dogs like Katie typically are too nervous to be around loud, fast moving small children so we automatically put them down as needing a home with older children only or no children. Katie will need a lot of time to learn to trust and love people but families that have worked with this type of dog say that it is so rewarding when they finally do come around. Katie is adapting to home life well and has picked out a favorite bed in the house. She has had no accidents in the house and follows the other dogs outside and back in so her foster mom hasn't had problems catching her. She gets along great with the dogs and cats in her foster home and is not shy with other dogs - just people. Katie had a long wonderful life with the McGraw Family. Johnny came in initially from the Boltons in Orlando, Florida. He is a big, friendly, outgoing boy that weighs 82.5 lbs. He just turned two on Halloween. He is registered as black but on closer look, he is actually a dark black brindle. His dam is Kentucky Merlot and his sire is Golden Squire. He has no races listed and was retired early. He passed his cat and small dog tests at the track so should be fine to live with either. Johnny was picked as a good candidate for service dog work. He was in an adoptive home for just a little while and was returned recently because he wasn't good with their tiny dogs walking and jumping on him. Like most dogs, he doesn't like to be stepped on or bothered by other dogs of any size when laying down on a bed. Johnny Cash was adopted by the Williams Family of Fairview NC 12/1/16. He had a great life with them until August of 2022 when he crossed the bridge due to osteosarcoma (bone cancer). |

Spicer came from the Mobile Al race track where he raced 107 races. He raced at Southland in Arkansas, then at Palm Beach and Orange Park in Florida and finally moved to Mobile. He is 4 years old and celebrated his 4th birthday on June 1st. He raced at 71lbs so is a mid sized guy. His sire is Deerfield Site and his dam is Bob's Streak. Spicer is doing fantastic in his foster home. He is good with small dogs he has met. He loves to play with toys and squeaky toys are his favorite. He is a happy loving guy. Update! Unfortunately Spicer's mom Passed recently and his family will be sending him back to GC for another home. This sweet older fella is safe with cats, small dogs, and children- all he needs is the perfect match for the rest of his retirement. Because of his age he will be adopted on the reduced Special Needs rate. Let's find him a second family who will cherish his senior years with as much affection and care as his beloved Mom showered on him. Spicer was adopted at 11 years old by the McPike Family on 8/3/20. He had another happy 2 years and crossed the bridge due to old age at 13 in August of 2022. He was a great guy that will be missed. |

King just arrived from the Goodman Kennel at Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced 106 races there and was pretty good getting up to the top A level. He is a smaller brindle male racing at 66lbs. He turned 3 on February 17th. King's sire is Little Andy and his dam is L's Josie. King is a friendly guy that seems calm and well behaved. He passed his cat test with just a little interest at first, He lost interest as soon as he realized cats have claws. He did fine with the small dog he met. King has been very quiet in his kennel and doesn't seem very stressed by his retirement and everything new. He is a pretty red brindle with cute stand up ears. King was adopted by the Buffa Family on 6.17.16. He passed away on 9/4/22 from cancer of the spleen. King made our lives whole. Fly high sweet boy and we will see you again one day. |

Uptown is a light brindle male that raced at 73lbs so is a mid sized male. He celebrates his 3rd birthday on June 3rd. Uptown's sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Chel's Rocknroll. He just retired from Sanford Orlando Race Track but did all of his 42 listed races at other tracks. He races in Iowa at Bluffs Run and at Palm Beach before being moved to Orlando after a minor injury. He was just healed up when his kennel closed and he was officially retired. Uptown did pass his cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. More as we get to know him Uptown was adopted by the Lesko family in 2013 and called Prince. He crossed the bridge 2/9/2022. If he had a headstone it would read "Here lies a goofball." We miss you goof nut. |

Smote just retired from the Bolton Kennel at the Orange Park Race Track in Florida. He was raised at the Plum Creek Farm. Smote only raced 14 races. He got bumped in a race and was injured in July of 2019. He took time off to heal up and started racing again in October 2019. Smote raced a few more races and even won one of those. In his last race in October he re-injured himself. He was rehabbed, then started running in some schooling (practice) races after he was healed up. He kept getting slightly sore after his schooling sessions, so they decided to retire him. Smote shows no sign of any injury now. He is very large and very strong and excitable. Because he is so excitable and curious about everything, he pulls on leash and tries to go check out everything at once. He gets so happy to see you, he bounces around and may jump up on you. He is a big boy racing at 84lbs. Because of his enthusiastic greetings he would not do well with toddlers, small kids or elderly people that may not be steady on their feet. He seems like a big goofy guy that would never intentionally hurt anyone though. He just has no idea how big he is and is so incredibly happy all the time. He seems friendly and sweet and isn't intending to do the wrong thing, but is very active for a greyhound. He definitely needs a strong leader that will set rules and teach him how to be calm and mannerly. Smotes sire is Dyna Double One and his dam is PJ Never Ask Why. Since Smote is excited to see anything new, he was predictably very excited to see cats and small dogs. He was able to quickly re-focused on other things that he was equally excited to see. We just weren't able to get a good reading on him, so need to do more testing with him, before deciding if he would be able to live with cats or small dogs. Smote was adopted his foster family, the Smith Family, in April of 2020 and called Finn. He crossed the bridge too soon, after getting loose and getting hit by a car in August of 2022. |

Molly originally came to us from the Sanford Orlando race track years ago. She started out racing in Abilene, then went to Derby Lane, and Palm Beach, before going to Orlando. Her owners hoped to find a track that she would be competitive at. She only won one race and finished last or close to last in most of her races so was retired after only 26 races. Molly was adopted right after she retired in 2012 and has been living in their home since. Due to a schedule change they are gone more than before and don't have time for her anymore, so have decided to rehome Molly. Her family feels like she would do better in a quiet home without small loud kids. They say she gets stressed around children. She has been living as an only dog but doesn't like being home alone for long periods so she may do better with a doggy friend she can hang out with. Molly passed her cat test at the track and is being fostered with small dogs. She is a light brindle female that raced at 60lbs, Her birthdate is 9/1/2010 so she is 8. Molly qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $250. She is timid at first so you should let her come to you. She enjoys sunbathing and walks. She does not like traveling or going for rides. She has never gotten up on the furniture. She is very dramatic and will scream if her legs are touched. She has never really played with toys and is a very calm girl that likes to lay around. Her sire is CTW Legendary and her dam is Seagold Jane. Molly was adopted in February of 2019 as a senior. She passed away in mid 2022 after a great life with her family. She will be missed. |

Edge is a 78lb, red, brindle boy. He just arrived from the Melbourne Race Track Adoption Kennel but he actually did all of his 56 races at Daytona Beach. He just won 6 of his races and placed in more but wasn't really good. Edge's sire is Kiowa WW Brother and his dam is Kiowa Sharp Cay. He turns 3 on May 17th. He is a very calm boy that is a little shy at first but does warm up with time. Edge was pretty overwhelmed when he first arrived and didn't want to come out of his kennel, so he is definitely a timid guy, that will need some time to gain confidence. He did pass his cat and small dog tests at the track so should be fine to live with either. Edgy was adopted in April of 2015 by his foster family. He slowly came out of his shyness and made them laugh and was the best coffee buddy. They lost him to a stomach tumor August 29th of 2022. Best foster fail ever, we love ya Edgy |

Linden came to us from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He is an extra large white male with brindle spots that raced at 80lbs. He started racing at Naples-Ft Myers track but just couldn't keep up with the other dogs in the 4 races he ran there. He was moved to Sanford Orlando and raced one more race there, but he came in last place so he was retired. He is young and turned 2 on February 17th. Linden is pretty laid back and calm. He is friendly and seems like a sweet, gentle, giant of a dog. His sire is Djays Octane and his dam is DS Mariah. Linden rode very well on the trip up from Florida and just got in the van, laid down and slept most of the way. He is very good and walks on a loose leash most of the time, unless he gets startled by something. He does startle with some new things. Â A bike going by startled him and a loud-speaker scared him, but he isn't bothered by thunderstorms or even all the motorcycles driving by our meet and greet at a Harley shop. He has a lot of new things to be introduced too and should stay on a shorter leash and maybe wear a harness until he gets more comfortable. Linden has been good with the kids and small dogs he has met. Linden was adopted in September of 2015.He had a great life with his family for the next 7 years until he crossed the bridge August 27th of 2022. Always in our hearts. |

Sookie just arrived after spending more than a week in a Gaffney SC shelter. She was found running loose and was picked up. She was identified by the tattoos in her ears. Sookie had been adopted years ago in Florida by Greyhounds As Pets of NE Florida and that adoption group contacted her owners. The owners decided not to pick her up from the shelter, so we were asked to help with rehoming her. Sookie is a sweet older lady that is 10 years old now. She is a tiny girl that raced at just 57lbs. She turned 10 on May 12th. Her sire is Fuzzy's Cannon and her dam is WBF Sugar Buzz. Her foster family says she is a happy, friendly girl that is well behaved and pretty spunky for an older lady. She has been into our vet at Oasis Animal Hospital in Mauldin and has been given a clean bill of health. She had not had good dental care and had to have most of her teeth removed but other than that she is healthy and very happy. Because she is a senior she qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $250. Sookie was adopted by a family in Atlanta in September of 2020. They called her Cookie. She passed away 9//3/2022. She will be missed. |

Dough is a pretty silver brindle female. Her trainers said she was a nice, calm, friendly girl that would probably do well in a home with kids. We will test her again with cats but they felt that she probably would be trainable with cats. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Kelsos Peach. She will turn 4 on Nov 13 and is 61lbs. She raced 98 races so had a pretty long career. She is quite the traveler. She started out racing at Bluffs Run in IA, then went to Naples/Ft. Myers in Florida, then to Sarasota, back to Dubuque IA, then back to Florida to the Sanford Orlando Race Track. Dough was adopted adopted in 2013 and called Playdough. She crossed the rainbow bridge in mid 2022 at nearly 13 years old. She will be missed. |

Special Needs Heart Problems! Bones came in from the Daytona Beach Track Closing. He raced at the Waverider Kennel there. He raced 94 races there, and did race a couple at Orange Park early on too. He wasn't real good and only won a few at the lower levels of racing. He just turned 3 on Feb 1st and raced at 73lbs. His sire is the famous Barcelona Boss and his dam is B's Elite Wendy. Bones passed his initial cat test with some sniffing and then lost interest but was too interested in cats when meeting them later so at this point he probably would do better in a home with no cats. He is a friendly guy that has a wonderful personality. Bones seems smart and picks up things fast. When he came in he excitedly pulled on leash checking everything out. After just a little coaching he started walking nicely on leash. Although Bones was used to being around and handled by the 5 kids of his trainer at the track, he did not like the kids in his first home so is back looking for a home with no kids. When Bones arrived our vets noticed that he had a significant heart murmur, enlarged heart and an irregular heart beat. He has been seen by a specialist at Upstate Specialists and does have what looks like genetic heart problems that are likely to continue to get worse and shorten his life. It is amazing that he was able to race and that his heart held up to that strenuous activity. We are starting him on a medication that will slow his progression into Congestive Heart Failure. Once he gets into Congestive heart failure he will have 8 to 10 months. We do not know how long he will have with the medication. Bones is just the sweetest guy and loves adults. He is still goofy, playful and fun and everyone that has met him has fallen in love with him. Our vet suggested limiting playtime to 10 minutes and no lure chasing or really strenuous play. Bones is a special guy that deserves a very special home for whatever time he has left. NOTE! Because of his status as Special Needs, interested adopters do not have to be on the waiting list and his adoption fee is reduced to help his new family. Bones lived nearly 2 more years with his heart problems. He crossed the bridge on August 9 2022. He was a wonderful guy and will be missed. |

Bandit just arrived from the Birmingham Race Track. He is part of the litter that came to us from the CTW Kennel Closing there. All his littermates share his first two names CTW Montana and they all were raised in Texas. Bandit is a 73lb, mostly white male with a fawn patch on the side of his neck and another small patch on his tail. He turned 3 on August 22nd. His sire is KC and All and his dam is CTW Make It Work. He raced 83 races and was racing at the top A level when the kennel closed so was a good racer. He is very outgoing and happy. He seemed to understand that the cat he met had claws and stayed away from it. He was interested in chasing when it ran away but as soon as it turned around he backed away and stayed away. So he may be trainable with a cat that would stand its ground with supervision. Bandit was fine with a small white dog he met. He can be vocal in his kennel so would not be a good choice for apartment living. Be sure to check out his other pictures to see lots of pictures of him as a young pup. Bandit was around the small kids that lived at the farm he was raised on so is used to them. Bandit was adopted in 2017 and had a wonderful but short life with his family. He crossed the bridge due to heatstroke while at a boarding kennel in June of 2021. He was a once in a lifetime heart dog that will be missed. |

JJ is a sweet friendly boy that passed his cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either. He is a very young guy that just celebrated his his second birthday at the end of June. He is playful and enjoys running and playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He seems to be a very bright boy because he has already figured out where the dog food is stored and how to lift the lid to the container to help himself. He has learned how to play with toys and is doing great on his housetraining. JJ loves "helping" with the laundry although he is generally unfolding what was folded and carrying it around to decorate the bedroom with it. This is a fun guy! He is a half brother to one of our other adoptable males, Bacchus. JJ was adopted in 2010 and was called Lee. He lived with his family for 12 years and crossed the bridge at the age of 14 due to complications from old age in 2022. |

She was timid at first but is warming up and is very friendly with her foster family already. She hasn't had one accident in the house! Perry was adopted 1/6/15 and called Fiona. She had 7 happy years with her family. She crossed the bridge due to bone cancer at 9 years old in April of 2022. |

Bella is a retiring brood mom that came in from Wheeling, West Virginia. She has 16 puppies in two litters that are racing now and probably has at least one younger litter still at the farm. She was a very good racer that was a top level AA racer at Wheeling Downs which is one of the top tracks in the US. She raced 94 races there mostly at A and AA level. She raced at 65lbs and turned 7 on March 17th so is a St Patricks girl. Her sire is the famous Jimbo Scotty and her dam is Bella Neutron. Bella is an alert, friendly girl that was curiously checking things out when we got her. She rode well in the car and seems like a pretty confident, easy going gal. Bella passed her cat and small dog tests with just a casual sniff and is being fostered in a home with cats. She is white with the cutest tiny freckles like pepper in her fur. Not the larger ticking like we normally see just tiny black flecks. Very unusual and unique. She also has a very long nose with a long overbite which is very cute. Very cute girl! Bella was adopted in December of 2017 as a 7 year old. She lived another 5 years and crossed the bridge suddenly due to a tumor May 1st of 2022. |

Cam just arrived from the Orange Park track in Jacksonville. He is a littermate to a dog we already placed Easi Cherry and her owners have been waiting for him to retire. He broke his leg in his last race and his owner and trainers had surgery on the leg to repair it so we had to wait even longer for it to heal up before we could get him. He is with us now and is just as sweet as we had hoped. His sire is Be My Bubba and his dam is Momoni Chris. He was born on Oct 25th and raced 139 races. His foster family is planning to adopt him. Camden was adopted in 2013 and lived with his littermate Cherry until she passed away. He followed her suddenly, two months later, of a sudden mystery illness on 5/4/22. Together again forever. |

Kate is a beautiful, brindle female that raced at 63lbs. She was born June 26 2009 so is just 2 years old. Kate is a friendly happy girl. Kate has quickly settled into her foster home. She is a quick learner and is very eager to please. She has discovered toys and gathered up a huge pile in her bed and went from one squeeky to the next and back again - oh so much fun! She likes to gather up clothes and shoes and sleeps on them when her foster family is away. We think she feels comforted by their scent. She never damages anything when she does this. She has checked out the cat, the bird and the mixed breed small dog in her foster home and found them all interesting but not chase worthy. Kate seems to have a low prey drive and will be able to live with small critters with no problem. She will even let the cat steal her food. She is a precious little girl! Kate loves to hang out with the other 2 greys in her foster home and usually follows them around. Her foster family just loves this sweet girl and you will too. Kate was adopted in 2011 by the Bagwell family. She had a long happy life and crossed the bridge on May 11th 2022 a month shy of her 13th birthday. 'She was the perfect girl' |

Grenade is an extra large black male that raced at 91lbs. We also placed his littermate Gambino so were very excited to get him too. He came in from Derby Lane in Florida where he raced 93 races there. Grenade was a good racer and raced his last race on June 4th 2014. He finished the race but slowed some and came up lame afterward due to a minor hock sprain that healed completely. Grenade was adopted by a family in August of 2014 that has had to return him to us due to financial issues. Grenade turned 8 on January 16th so qualifies for our senior adoption fee of $250. His sire is Tyrur Alex and his dam is Fire Storm Drive. Grenade passed his cat test and lived in a home with cats and small dogs so should be fine in a home with either. He is very friendly and loves everyone he meets. Grenade would be an excellent therapy dog or meet and greet dog since he loves kids and is very gentle and friendly with everyone he meets. Grenade was adopted by the Bowden Family of Greenville SC in 2019 as senior. He had another great 3 years and passed away 5/9/22 due to complications of old age. A gentle giant that will be missed. |

Oscar is a friendly, bouncy, red brindle guy that will celebrate his 4th birthday October 7th. His sire is KJ''s Yukon Gold and his Dam is Gilded Rose. He has 47 races to his credit and he raced at Bluffs Run, Sarasota and Sanford Orlando. He only won 2 races but placed in the money a lot. He raced at 73lbs. He is a sweet guy that passed his cat test and has been living in a home with them. At the track they said that he was Mr Personality following his trainers around and interacting with them a lot while they were doing chores. We have seen the same thing. He doesn't seem to meet a stranger and is very outgoing and friendly. He travelled well on the trip up from the track. He is a higher energy greyhound that loves to run laps every day so would do best in a home with a large yard to run in and maybe even another dog to play with. He probably wouldn't do well in an apartment without a place to run. Oscar has been living in an adoptive home for a year but they felt he would be happier in a home with a large yard, another dog or kids to play with. Because of his higher energy level he might be the perfect dog for someone that wanted a greyhound that could do agility or lure coursing. Oscar absolutely loves children and would be great in a home with older kids that he could play with. This boy is all about playing and having a good time. Update on Oscar from his foster mom: Oscar is the happiest doggie ever. He will wake you in the morning by putting his nose in your face. If that doesn't work, he'll slip his nose under the covers. And if that doesn't work, he will softly bark you a good morning. He thinks eating is the most wonderful thing ever! He thinks walking is the most wonderful thing ever but isn't big on going jogging and will stop after less than a mile! He thinks sleeping is the most wonderful thing ever! But maybe the MOST wonderful thing ever is when you come home and he is so happy and waggy. Not terribly friendly to squirrels, but all other critters are friends. Totally house trained. Oscar was adopted in Sept of 2014 by his foster family. He lived a long happy life and crossed the bridge May 16th of 2022 of complications due to old age. He will be missed. |

Manning just arrived from the Birmingham Race Course Adoption Kennel. He didn't actually ever race there though. He raced 35 races at Southland in Arkansas and at Flagler, Naples Ft. Myers and Palm Beach tracks in Florida. He only ever was able to win one race so was retired young. He is a big, tall, guy that raced at 83lbs. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Mon Manny and his dam is KL's Muriel. He won't turn 3 until November 20th. Manning is a friendly guy that is really sweet. He was quiet in his crate after just a couple of reminders the first day but once in awhile he does get excited and makes a little noise - mainly when guests come over and he is in his crate. He walks great on a loose leash. He is a higher prey drive guy that isn't going to be able to live with cats. He is OK with small dogs indoors but gets too excited about them outside when they run around so probably would do best in a home with medium sized dogs or larger. He is being fostered with an 15lb Italian Greyhound, to help him get used to being around small dogs and he is doing great with him now. Manning is doing great in his foster home and would be a very easy first or 4th greyhound. He seems to get along well with other dogs and seems pretty calm for his age. Manning is a gentle giant. Manning was adopted by the Goodman Family in Sept of 2017. He crossed the bridge in 2022. He will be missed. |

Kid just arrived from the CTW Kennel at the Wheeling WV track. That is a top tier track, so he was a very good racer to be competitive there. He is a very handsome white and black male with freckles in his white. He turned 4 on February 2nd. Kid is a midsize male racing at 75lbs and weighing in at 77lbs at our vet. His sire is DJays Octane and his dam is CTW Pole Dancer. Kid is a calm, friendly guy that is very good on leash. He crates well but has been known to sing a bit in his crate and has a very nice Roo Roo singing voice. He does correct easily and quiets right down and sleeps quietly through the night. He is completely vetted and ready to go home. Kid passed his small dog test and is being fostered with a small white Italian Greyhound. He was a little curious at first about the cat but never tried to chase it so we think he should be easily trainable with some supervision at first. He is used to being around kids at the farm he grew up on and they sent us a picture of him with one of the kids there. His owners told us Kid was a wild puppy and that his how he got his name. He became a calm, well behaved, adult after he matured like most greyhounds do. Kid travels well and just gets in and lays down on trips. kid was adopted 6/26/17 by the Jacobson Family and called Outlaw. He crossed the bridge 5 years later in June of 2022 due to bone cancer. He is a larger guy that raced at 77lbs. He is young and turned 2 March 11th. His sire is the famous Greys Statesman and his dam is Fuzzys Autumn. He is good with kids and did fine as an only dog in his previous home but really likes other dogs and is good with them. He is very loving and sweet. He has good house manners already and has lived in a home since January but was returned to us because of a divorce. He should be an easy addition to just about any home. Quantico was a good racer that started out at Tri-State in WV then moved to Birmingham AL. He raced at the top A level in Birmingham and raced 132 races so had a pretty long, successful career. Quantico was interested in the cat when he met it but quickly lost interest after the cat slapped him a few times so he may be trainable with cats. He did fine with the small dog he met though. Jojo is a cute little girl that raced at just 55lbs. Her sire is Tony's Oracle. She was born on 10/1/09. She is mostly white with some black freckles in her fur and a couple of black patches over her ears and eyes. She is waggy and happy and her cute curly tail may end up being a blur in some of her photos. Jojo is a great girl that gets along well with people, other dogs and kids. She is young so is still pretty active and loves to play with other dogs. She passed her initial cat tests but has been interested in chasing some of the cats in her foster home so she would need to be tested with individual cats in whatever home she was going to. Cats with claws that are used to dogs and let the dog know who is boss, seem to be respected, but ones that run away and are afraid, are a little too fun to resist chasing. Jojo was adopted by the Batson Family in 2012 and crossed the bridge 7/12/2022 ten years later. "She was a blessing to us and I think we were to her. She was a Proverbs 30 dog. "There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:....a greyhound."She was beautiful - all greyhounds are. Being at home, I spent so many days of the last 10 years with her. She was fast and crazy smart, and we miss her terribly. |

Ace is a greyhound racing star and had a long successful career of 216 races. He raced at Ebro, Sarasota, Mardi Gras, Flagler, Dubuque and just retired from Naples Ft Myers. Ace was consistently racing at the top A levels and competed in many Stakes races that are reserved for the fastest greyhounds at that track. He won some of those races too and was a 2015 Naples Floridian Finalist. He is coming in from Jimmy King at the Flagler track and we are thrilled to be able to meet and place a star like Ace. We wish he could sign autographs. His sire is the very famous Trent Lee and his dam is Kiowa WW Ring. Ace raced at 74lbs and turned 5 on February 21st. Ace has an awesome friendly personality. He is very calm and seems like he would be a very easy first greyhound. He was not interested in the cat at all so should be great living in a home with cats and small dogs. Very sweet guy! Update: Ace's foster family has decided to keep him!! Ace was adopted in June of 2018 and called Ziggy by his family. He crossed the bridge due to a mystery illness that the vet was unable to diagnose in January of 2021. |

Patches originally raced at Naples Ft Myers and Flagler tracks. She raced 103 races mainly at the lower levels of racing. She raced 22 times before she won her first maiden race and became an official racer. She did get up to the B level briefly. Patches has been retired and in a home since November of 2011. She was initially adopted through Greyhound Lifesavers and was returned to us to rehome. Her owner felt that she spent too much time alone due to her busy schedule. Patches just turned 10 on August 20th and really doesn't look her age. Just a gorgeous girl that doesn't have a lot of white on her face yet. Her sire is Oneco Spirit and her dam is Hammer This. Patches passed her cat and small dog tests and loves children. She is quiet in her crate and well behaved, she does whine when she needs to go out though. Her favorite place to be is the bed closest to a person. She is used to being on a couch or human bed and will get up on either. She is a very sweet girl that was just a bit overwhelmed when she first arrived. Because she is an older gal she qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee. Patches was adopted as a senior in 2018. Her family called her Jasmine. She lived a long life with her family and crossed the bridge in March of 2021 at 12.5 years old. |

Mark came in from the Sanford Orlando Race track. He raced 197 races and also raced at Melbourne, Dubuque, Bluffs Run and Mardi Gras. He was a good racer that raced at the top A level and his last race was an A level race that he placed 3rd in. He had a minor muscle injury in that last race on June 8th. Mark has healed up from that and is fine now and runs and plays normally. Since he was already 5 years old they decided to go ahead and retire him. He turned 5 on August 13th so he had a very long racing career. Mark's sire is B's Royal Tim and his dam is WW Star Isabel. Mark is a very confident, happy-go-lucky guy. He is very loving and follows his foster mom around the house wanting to be close to her. He only had one accident in his foster home on the Christmas tree which was an honest mistake. Mark is very smart and learns fast. He figured out how to open a door and a gate. Mark is silly and playful and loves playing with toys. When Mark first arrived his coat was a little rough as you can see in some of his early photos, but he has a shiny black coat now and is a very handsome boy. He is a mid sized male racing at 72lbs. Mark was pretty excitable when he first saw small furry things but calmed down after some exposure at the vet's office. He has been good with some small dogs he met since he has been in foster care too. Mark can be a little bossy with other males so we think he would do best in a home with female dogs or he would also be fine as an only dog. Mark was very vocal when he first arrived but has quieted down nicely and likes his kennel now and is very quiet. This is a sweet, loving, fun guy that has a lot of personality. Mark has done very well with the visiting grandchildren in his foster home and seems to especially love kids. He is going to make a fun addition for some lucky family. Mark was adopted 1/31/16. He crossed the bridge in his sleep from apparent heart failure May 10th 2021 at the age of 10. He is missed. |
