2024 Adoptions
A list of all retired racing greyhounds adopted by Greyhound Crossroads in 2024
So someone with a sense of humor named this litter of pups. Dung's littermates are Dookie, Deuce, Runs, and Squirts. We were asked to help another adoption group place some of their dogs because their vet passed away and they haven't been able to get their fosters vetted. That adoption group decided to call him Doug instead of Dung and we like that name much better too. Doug raced at Tri State Race Track very briefly. We were only able to find 7 schooling races for him. He always finished toward the back of the pack, so never had an official race. Doug's sire is Show On The Road and his dam is Kelso's Very Cool. He is a big, tall guy racing at 80lbs. He is 2 and won't turn 3 until December 23rd. When we picked him up at the other adoption kennel, he came running out and came right up to us with his tail wagging. He appeared to be a friendly happy guy and didn't seem shy or timid at all. He traveled really well and laid down most of the trip. But when he got out of the van, he was a totally different dog. He seemed completely out of his element and nervous. His head was down and he was very quiet and clearly overwhelmed. Once he warms back up and gets more comfortable we are sure he will return to the happy, bouncy, young guy we saw when he was comfortable. Doug easily passed his cat test and didn't seem interested in the cat at all. He is being fostered with cats and is doing great with them too. He didn't show much interest in the small white dog he met either. UPDATE: Doug decided he might like a nibble on a cat in his foster home, so to be on the safe side we are changing him to NO for cats. Still an amazing, gorgeous dog! |

Diabolic just arrived from another group that asked us to help them place some of their dogs. Their vet passed away and they haven't been able to get their dogs vetted and adopted for months. Diabolic started out racing at Wheeling in WV, then was moved to Southland in Arkansas. When that track closed, he was moved to Tri-State in WV. He raced 44 races, but only managed to actually win 4 of them. Looking at the comments on his races, he was fast, but just ran wide and got bumped a lot trying to get to the outside. Diabolic raced his last race February 11th of 2023 so has been waiting on a home for well over a year. Diabolic turned 4 on March 23rd. His sire is the famous Barcelona Boss and his dam is CH Honey Im Good. Diabolic raced at 78lbs. He is a very happy, friendly guy that isn't pushy. If other dogs are getting love, he will politely wait his turn and doesn't seem to be a really needy guy. He is a very confident guy. Nothing seems to phase him; slick floors, stairs and other new things are all taken in stride. He travels well and seems to adapt well to just about any situation. He is too interested in kitties to be able to live with them. He is living with a medium sized mix breed dog in foster care, and was fine with the small dog he met. Diabolic has been around older kids and and small kids and seems to like everyone. He gets along well with the other greyhounds in his foster home too. |

Leo just arrived from another group that asked us to help them place some dogs. Their vet passed away and they have been unable to get dogs vetted, so these dogs have been waiting for a very long time. Leo raced at Tri State Race Track in West Virginia. He raced 90 races there and won 6 of those. His last race was August 8th of 2023. He pulled up and did not finish that race due to a broken leg. Leo had his leg fixed and rehabbed at the track adoption kennel. The repair looks fantastic and isn't noticeable. Once in awhile he favors that leg just a bit, but runs and plays and will still be faster than any non-greyhound. His leg is completely healed after a year. Leo is a special guy that is going to need a dog experienced owner. He is very loving and likes every person he has met so far. He loves having company at his foster home. More people to love. He lives for love and attention. He is very dramatic about new things and things he doesn't like and tends to overreact. He is really worried about slick floors and just freezes, for example. He was also worried about even walking on a rug at first, but is getting more comfortable with those after a few days. His foster home is working on him with both but he is going to need carpet or at least carpet runners because he still freaks out on the shiny floors after having to walk on them for weeks. He will hop right up on a couch though. We were told he can be growly over his food with other dogs, so he has always been fed separately in his kennel. Leo has never growled at people over his food. Even though he doesn't want to share food with other dogs, he actually really seems to need another dog around him and refused to eat when kenneled alone at first. We think he would probably do best in a home with another dog or two, but probably not a large pack of dogs. His racing kennel felt that he needed to go to a home with his littermate Joaquin. Because of Leo breaking his leg, he had to be separated from Joaquin for 6 months, and did OK though. We tried putting them in separate foster homes and they did fine. Leo passed his cat test. He paid no attention to the cat and was much more worried about the slick bathroom floor he was standing on. Leo's sire is the famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Braska Diane. His DOB is 8/7/19 so he just turned 5 years old. He raced at 69lbs. |

Billy just arrived from another adoption group that asked us to help them place some dogs. Their vet passed away and they haven't been able to get dogs vetted, so these dogs have been waiting on homes for too long. Billy went to the Tri-State RaceTrack in West Virginia to race. He ran 6 schooling races in October of 2023, and came in toward the back of the pack in all of them, so never had an official race. His sire is Show On The Road and his dam is CTW Funfetti. He is an extra large, tall boy that raced at 80bs. That was a very tall, skinny 80lbs. He is as tall as some 90lb greyhounds, so may fill out and be heavier than 80. He was born February 12, 2022 so is just 2 years old. Billy is a friendly, goofy, happy guy, that runs up to everyone he sees. If another dog is getting petted, he will be poking his nose in to get love too. He still seems like a goofy pup most of the time and is still learning that his long back legs are supposed to follow the long front legs up and down stairs. He is like a colt sometimes learning to use those legs and actually has something a bit different about his stride that is probably the reason he never was able to race well. We will have our vet check him out when he goes in for his neuter. Billy passed his cat test with just some casual sniffing. He likes kids of all ages. Billy passed his cat test and his small dog tests easily, so should be fine to live with them. This is a really sweet guy that is going to be a great best friend. Although he is pretty young still, he doesn't chose to run around a lot and doesn't require a lot of exercise. He seems like he is going to be a pretty calm guy. |

Batman just arrived from another adoption group that asked us to help them place dogs. Their vet passed away and they couldn't get these dogs vetted or adopted. Batman raced 7 races at the Tri State Race Track back in October of 2023. He didn't place in any of his races so was retired then, and has been waiting on a home since then. His sire is the famous Rob Gronkowski and his dam is Britney Eureton. He raced at 68lbs and will turn 3 on September 20th. Batman is a gorgeous, shiny black boy that is very friendly and happy. He travels very well and just got in the van and laid down to go for a ride. So far Batman has been pretty excitable about everything, wanting to go check everything out. Kind of like a squirrel on the leash. He was way too excited about the kitties to be able to live with them, but may need to be re-tested, since he was so excited about everything new when he arrived. He did do OK with the small dog he met, after some initial excited sniffing. He will need a careful introduction to small dogs, since they can look like cats or squirrels at first glance. Batman wants to run up to everyone he sees. When he saw people riding by on bikes, he wanted to go run with them too. He is very curious about everything and is ready to be part of any activity. He really liked the kids he met, but we think he may be too excitable and playful for small, young kids. He would probably enjoy a family that had older kids that he could play with though. He has a lot of personality, but does calm down nicely in a home. Batman is going to be a wonderful part of a lucky family. He can be whiny in his kennel, so may not be the best choice for apartment living. |

Promise came in initially from a dog farm in Arkansas in 2018. She was called Ally at the track, but her previous owners decided to call her Promise. She raced 70 races, mostly at Wheeling Downs in WV, and was very good getting up to the top AA levels at one of the toughest tracks. Promise also raced briefly at Southland. After she retired in January of 2018, she went back to the farm to be a mom. She had just one puppy. It was too big and she had trouble having it, so the pup didn't make it. Her owners decided to just retire her instead of having more litters. Promise was adopted in October of 2018 and lived with her owner until he passed away. His family has asked us to rehome her. Promise lived with a male greyhound in her previous home so should be OK to live in a home with another dog. She turned 9 on January 6th, so qualifies for our reduced adoption donation of $350. She will be completely vetted before we place her again. Her sire is the famous Flying Penske and her dam is Cidina. Promise raced at 65lbs. She is good on leash and potties on leash, so may do fine with potty walks instead of having a fenced yard. Promise travels really well and just gets in the car and lays down. She is calm in her crate. Promise can be just a little timid when she first meets you, but is happy to let females come up and pet her. Even though her previous owner was a man, that loved her, she just never really warmed up to other men and remains standoffish with guys. We would prefer to place her in a home with a woman. Although she may not go up to a lady at first to be petted, it won't take her long to warm up and she will then seek out petting and affection. Promise does like kids and gets more excited to see them than adults. Because she is timid we think that very young loud kids and their toys and fast movements could still scare her, so we would prefer to place her in a home with older children only. She is a grinner, that smiles when excited, once she is comfortable. She is very calm. Promise was interested in the first cat she met, but after that was fine with the other cats she met and not interested in them at all. She has not lived with cats in her previous home so we retested her with cats and she just sniffed curiously and then walked away. Promise even walked nicely past several ducks so seems to have a low preydrive. She has the glossiest, gorgeous, black coat. Promise had an injury to her tail, when she was young, so now has a cute little nub that is only about 3 inches long. She thinks it makes her even cuter and she doesn't have to worry about it getting shut in a door or gate like other greyhounds. |

Joaquin just arrived with his brother Leo from another group that asked us to help them place some dogs. Their vet passed away and they haven't had anyone to vet their dogs for some time. So these guys have been waiting on a home for a very long time. Joaquin raced 83 races at Tri-State Race Track and was pretty good, quickly getting up to the top A level there and winning 15 of his races. His last race was August 12th of 2023 and he has been waiting on home for over a year. His sire is the famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Braska Diana. He just turned 5 on August 7th. Joaquin is a happy-go-lucky, sweet guy. Very outgoing and friendly. He is being fostered with kids, cats and small dogs and has been good with everything. His kennel at the track felt strongly that Joaquin and Leo should be placed together, but they were separated for 6 months when one was at the track and the other was with the previous adoption group. They are in separate foster homes now and are OK, so we think they may be able to be placed separately. Joaquin can be a little loud in his kennel so may not be the best apartment dog. |

Thunder just arrived from another adoption group that asked for our help. Their vet passed away, so they have been unable to get any dogs vetted for over 6 months. So these dogs have been waiting on vetting and homes for a very long time. Thunder ran 9 maiden races (for dogs that have never won a race) at Tri State in West Virginia. He placed in some of those, but wasn't able to win a single race, so he was retired in October of 2023. He has been waiting on a home since then. Thunder's sire is the famous Superior Panama and his dam is CET Sunny. He raced at 69 lbs and will turn 3 on October 20th. Thunder is a happy, friendly boy once he gets to know you. He can be just a little timid at first in new situations, but still eventually will go up to everyone for love and petting. A very sweet guy! Thunder is good with other dogs of all sizes. He is in a foster home with small dogs. Thunder had mixed results with cats. He was interested in them, but would redirect. He might be trainable, but we just feel that he was too interested to be safe living with cats, without a lot of training. He liked the kids he met a lot, so should be fine in a home with kids too. Thunder has had a toe injury on one of his back feet and one toe was amputated long ago. It is completely healed now and he doesn't seem to notice it. Thunder loves toys and takes them to his crate, so may be a bit of a toy hoarder. |

Charlie B just arrived from Wheeling Downs Race Track in WV. She raced 51 races, mostly at the lower C and D levels. Her last race was July 3rd of 2024. Charlie B won 4 races and placed in others. She may have raced a little longer, but her kennel, Rangle Kennel, is closing its doors. Charlie B is retiring with her sister Cruella but they don't seem bonded enough to need to be placed together. Her sire is Need My Moneynow and her dam is Pat C Zitty. She just turned 3 on August 16th. Charlie B has a wonderful, friendly personality and her tail wags most of the time. When we asked her trainers who their favorite dog out of this load was, they quickly said Charlie B. She is very curious and checks everything out. On the trip down she mostly stood up and looked out the window, but did eventually lay down. Even though she is busy checking everything out, she always come back to people for love. She whined some on the trip and at first in her crate, but calmed down and quieted down the second day. She was raised with children and is very good with the kids she has met, giving them gentle kisses and choosing to interact with them. She is a big favorite of the kids in her foster home and she lets the 4 year old lead her around by the collar, even though she is bigger than he is. She really seems to love being around children. She has been good with the dogs she has met of all sizes and breeds. She has had mixed results with the cats in her foster home. She corrects easily when you tell her 'no', but has continued to show too much interest in chasing the cats again later. We think she will need a home with no cats, after working with her and the cats for awhile. Charlie B is such a sweet, loving girl that loves everyone she meets. She is going to be a great family dog. |

Cruella just arrived from Wheeling Downs Race Track in WV. She raced 26 races and only won one of them. Normally she finished toward the back of the pack, so probably would have retired quickly even if Rangle Kennel had not closed. She raced her last race on July 6th and arrived with her sister Charlie B. Cruella likes her sister, but doesn't seem so bonded that they need to be placed together. They are in separate foster homes and seem to be completely fine. Cruella is a small female that raced at just 60lbs. Her sire is Need My Moneynow and her dam is Pat C Zitty. Her DOB is 8/26/21, so she just turned 3 years old. Cruella is happy and sweet and is very laid back for her age according to her owner. She was raised around kids at the farm she lived on. She can be a little standoffish with new dogs on first meeting, especially other breeds that she hasn't been around before. Once she knows dogs, she seems like she is good and she would repeatedly give her sister Charlie B kisses and curled up beside the other girls on the trip. She spent a lot of time curiously sniffing the cat, then walked off to check out that dog in the mirror. So Cruella should be fine to live with cats. Cruella is a natural sitter, that is a position that is not comfortable for most greyhounds. She loves toys and carries them around and may be a bit of a toy hoarder. Her foster mom says she is pretty perfect, playful and confident. She has had only a couple of potty accidents in the house so picked up on potty training fast. She is still learning that counter surfing is not allowed. She is smart and seems to be learning fast. She is quiet all night in her kennel. She follows the other dogs in her foster home and does what they do. She does stairs like a champ up and down. Not only gorgeous but a great personality too. |

Jasmine just arrived from the closing Rangle Kennel at the Wheeling Downs Race Track in WV. She raced 12 schooling races and usually finished toward the back of the pack, so never had an official race. Her last schooling race was July 19th, 2024. Jasmine arrived with her sister VJ Moulin Rouge, they are being fostered together but so far don't seem to be too bonded to each other. So we feel they can be placed separately. Jasmine's sire is Show On The Road and her dam is MJ Max Freeze. Her DOB is 3/4/22 so she is 2 years old. Jasmine is a tiny girl that raced at just 58lbs. Her owner described her as not really shy but reserved at first, until she adjusts. Then she can be silly and a bit of a wild child in short spurts. Jasmine has been pretty timid since she has arrived, but does seem to be more outgoing every day. She comes up cautiously and seems like she wants affection, but is a little too timid to ask for it. She just stares up at you with the sweetest eyes. She has been very good with the other dogs she met and didn't even fuss when stepped on or layed on on the trip down. Jasmine does well with kids and loved the 8-10 year old at her owner's farm, but was timid at first with new kids we introduced her to. She has also been fine with a medium sized dog of another breed that she met. She still needs cat testing, but we are pretty sure she will be safe with them because she wasn't even that interested in chickens when she first saw them. She is pretty quiet in her kennel and is calm and well behaved in the house so far. She can be timid on leash when she sees something new and tries to back away, so may need to be walked on a harness at first and may need a home with a safely fenced yard. Jasmine travels well and just laid down for the entire trip and rarely got up. She was a little worried about the stairs at first but learned them quickly. Jasmine is a sweet little girl that is a little overwhelmed by everything new, but should warm up quickly. |

Mulan just arrived from the closed Rangle Kennel at the Wheeling Downs Race Track. She arrived with her sister Jasmine. She only raced 9 races and placed 4th a few times, but the rest of the time finished toward the back of the pack. Mulan is a small female that raced at 63lbs. Her DOB is 3/4/22 so she is just 2 years old. Her sire is Show On The Road and her dam is MJ Max Freeze. She is the opposite of her timid sister and doesn't know a stranger. Mulan goes straight up to everyone she meets with a wagging tail and a grin on her face. She is super sweet and loves kids. She was one of the favorites of the 8-10 year old girl that lived on the farm where she was raised. She is very used to being handled by kids. Mulan is very curious about everything, but does calm down nicely at home. She has mastered the steps at her foster home. She gets along well with other dogs including a medium sized dog of another breed. Mulan did great on her cat test and just sniffed curiously and then wanted petting. Mulan is a happy happy girl that loves everyone and does the big greyhound grin. |

Stuart is a return. He was initially placed in his current home by an adoption group that has shut down. Stuart is being returned because his family can no longer care for him due to health issues. No problem with him. Stuart was born on December 3rd of 2017, so is 6 years old. We were only able to find that he raced 6 schooling races at Palm Beach in Florida. He came in 5th or 6th in all of those races, so he was retired young and didn't have an official race. His last schooling race was 8/28/2019 and he has been in an adoptive home since then. He has never lived with cats so it is unknown how he would do in a home with them. He is friendly with other dogs of all sizes on neighborhood walks, but has never lived with small dogs. He is friendly with all the people he meets on walks but hasn't lived with children either. Stuart is already home acclimated. He is afraid of thunderstorms. His owners think he may have a little separation anxiety so he may do best in a home with another dog. Stuart's sire is Flying Fired Up and his dam is Flying Husky. |

Fritz came in from Australia. He raced only 8 races and did OK winning one of those and placing in most of the others. His last race was March 8th of 2024. He raced at Wagga, and Healesville. Fritz's DOB is 1/5/22, so he is 2 years old. His sire is Wow and his dam is Gamma Bale. He is a very tiny boy racing at just 62lbs. He was smaller than the girls that he arrived from Australia with. Even though he is a small boy, Fritz is a very confident guy, that is likely to be the leader of whatever pack he is in. So he needs a home with other dogs that would be OK with that. Fritz was completely vetted in Australia before arrival and his ear tattoo is VLXIS. Fritz is a happy, friendly, loyal dog that loves to be around people, joining in on the fun whenever he gets the chance! He is super easy-going and is happy to go along with, and join in on, whatever you’re doing! Fritz is equally as social with children- he just loves kids! The children that Fritz has grown up with are 6, 8 & 10 years old and he is gentle and sweet with them. He is used to playing with them, getting a wash, and just generally being handled by them. When we did his nails he just laid there and let us dremmel them without flinching or fussing. So long as he gets his love and pats, he’s a happy boy! Fritz is happy to be doing whatever you’re doing and is a pretty calm guy. He does love to play with toys in short spurts. Fritz has interacted with other dog breeds besides Greyhounds and gets along well with them, but he definitely prefers his human friends. Fritz has lived with a Blue Heeler and her puppies and got along fine with them all- he was just happy he was never asked to babysit them! Fritz did great with a small Italian Greyhound he met when he arrived. His best friend was a small Dachshund in his foster home - they would play together and sleep cuddled up together. Fritz did not pass his cat test so needs a home with no cats. He is a natural sitter that seems very comfortable in that position, unlike most greyhounds. He has the cutest puppy look about him. |

Vista arrived recently from a farm in Florida. She was transported there from the Tri-State Race Track in WV. She raced only 7 races there and was only able to win one of those, so was retired young. She just turned 2 on June 7th. She is a tiny, fawn girl that raced at just 58lbs, but looks even smaller than that. Her sire is Hashtag Dangrite and her dam is Hashtag Xxntexas. Vista traveled well. She stood up and looked out the window some of the trip up from Florida, but laid down after awhile. She is a singer and likes to lead the other dogs in long roos. Vista is a little shy at first, mainly with men. She was pretty friendly with women and kids and came when called. She seems submissive, coming up pretty low to the ground with her tail wagging cautiously. She seemed submissive at first with other dogs too, not growling or correcting other dogs, even when they were bothering her. She passed her cat and small dog tests easily. She seemed afraid of the cat, but was very comfortable with the small white dog she met. She did panic on leash when something scared her and she tried to bolt away. She seems like she is pretty stressed at first in new situations, but she wants attention and should warm up fast. She also seemed to like the small kids she met. Vista was vetted at Emerald City Animal Hospital in Greenwood, SC. UPDATE! Vista is available for adoption again after a very short time with her adoptive family, because she did chase the cat after she got over her fear of it. She was also having some fear responses and mixed messages when spending time with the other dogs in her home. Vista may do best in a quiet, calm home with a family with shy greyhound experience. Vista is in a foster home now and has done really well, even warming up to her foster dad slowly. She has been very good with the other dogs in her foster home and is especially drawn to their male greyhound, following him around. She has shown no interest in chasing their chickens either so seems to have a pretty low prey drive. She is a very sensitive girl that tends to panic and over react to new things. She will need a patient owner that will give her the time she needs to adjust. |

Truman is a gorgeous AKC show bred greyhound and is not from racing greyhound bloodlines. He was bred for the show ring and is just a stunningly gorgeous guy. We don't get many show dogs to place so Truman is very unique. He didn't end up having the exact look needed to be a champion show dog, so his owner decided to let us place him in a pet home. He is a very big guy that weighs 90+ lbs. Truman has an excellent personality, very happy, very outgoing and friendly. He loves everyone he meets, so much that he may try to get into your lap. He loves attention and loves his toys. He is up to date on all vaccines and ready to be placed. He has lived with and likes small dogs, but being a playful puppy, he just wants to play with them and is really too big to play with tiny dogs. Since he is such a playful big boy, he would do better with medium to large dogs that would enjoy playing with him. Truman has seen barn cats at his home from a distance and gets very excited when seeing them, so we don't think he will be able to live in a home with kitties. Truman is still a young, one year old guy, so needs a fenced yard where he can run, and he will need lots of exercise. Young greyhounds are not like the calm, retired greyhounds we are used to. Truman has been living in a home so he is home acclimated, but being a pup he still needs frequent reminders on manners. He can be a thief, stealing things off tables and counters. Truman hasn't been around kids but loves everyone, so probably would be OK with older kids. He is so playful he could accidentally knock down a toddler. He is no wallflower, very exuberant and happy. If you want a playful, fun, very loving dog, Truman is your guy. He will absolutely love you forever and be your best friend. |

Sonja just arrived from a farm in Florida. She has just been retired from being a mom and has 2 litters of pups registered - 12 in all. One litter in November of 2022 and one in August of 2023. Sonja was a fantastic racer, racing 93 races at Wheeling Downs. She won at the top AA level and placed in Stakes races too. You can see why she was chosen to be a mom and hopefully pass on her skill as a racer. Sonja's sire is CBJ Irish Cream and her dam is Time Out Tundra. She raced at 65lbs and her DOB is September 26th 2017. Sonja passed her cat and small dog tests easily. She just sniffed the cat for just a little while to see what it was, then decided she would rather get petted by the people nearby. She is a very friendly, loving girl that loves to give hugs and is so sweet and happy. She seems pretty calm and well behaved. She was quiet in her crate and travelled well. Shonja loves kids and is living with them in her foster home. She was vetted at Emerald City Animal Hospital in Greenwood SC. |

Joe Joe just arrived from a farm in Florida. He is a retired racer and raced most of his 96 races at the Wheeling Downs Race Track in WV. He was a good racer getting up to the A level there in 2022. In 2023 he wasn't running as well and wasn't winning as often, so at the beginning of 2024 he was moved to the Tri-State Track in WV. He won a couple of races there, but still wasn't running great, so he was retired in April of 2024. He comes from a family of Champions, his brother JSP Rayzendacash was an All American in 2023. Joe Joe is a very tall handsome boy that raced at 76lbs. His DOB is August 9th 2020 so he is almost 4 years old. His sire is Superior Panama and his dam is Gonz Mani. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily. He was very comfortable around the small white dog and just curiously sniffed the cat for awhile to figure out what it was, then lost interest. He liked the small kids he met too. Joe Joe kenneled quietly and has been doing great in his foster home. He seems pretty calm and well behaved and is getting along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He traveled pretty well. He stood up and looked out the window a lot, but also laid down. He liked resting his head on the driver's shoulder and would wait to be petted. Joe Joe was vetted at Emerald City Animal Hospital in Greenwood SC. |

Jocko just arrived from a Florida farm. He is a retired racer and raced most of his 51 races at the Caliente Race Track in Mexico. He was a good racer got up to the top A grade there. In July of 2023 he was moved to Wheeling Downs in WV to race. He never won another race there, so was moved to Tri-State Race Track in WV in January of 2024. He raced at the lowest D level there and still didn't win a race, so he was officially retired on July 2nd of 2024. He was transported down to the farm in Florida and we got him from there. Jocko is a dark red boy with a black nose/ He raced at 74lbs so he is a mid sized guy. His sire is WW's Gustava and his dam is WW's Pure Bliss. His DOB is August 14 of 2021 so he is almost 3 years old. Jocko easily passed his small dog and cat tests. He seemed nearly afraid of the cat and didn't want to even sniff it. He rode well on the trip down and would get up and look out the window and after a little while he would lay back down. There was a thunderstorm and he didn't seem to be bothered by it at all. He is friendly, happy and wags his tail a lot. Apparently he has wagged his tail and hit it on things enough that it has caused repeated injury to the tip. Part of his tail has already been removed and what was left was bandaged up when he arrived. When our vet removed the bandage he had an infection in the remaining part of his tail and he had to have more taken off. So now he has a 4-5 inch nub of a tail that can't hit anything, so now he can wag it as much as he wants to. Jocko seems like a sweet guy that was quiet in his kennel and pretty well behaved. A really cute guy. He was vetted at Emerald City Animal Hospital in Greenwood SC. |

Brandy is arriving soon from Australia. He raced 35 races there but only managed to win one. He raced at Dubbo, Bathurst, and Gunnedah. His last race was November 26th of 2022. He has been living with his owner since then. Brandy is 75lbs and his DOB is Nov. 30 2019. His sire is Brad Hill Billy and his dam is Uniting Cargo. His left ear is tattooed with NIFDR. Here is his description from his owner: Brandy is already well on his way to becoming the perfect family pet. Underneath his gorgeous exterior, he also has a beautiful, soft-natured personality to match! Brandy is a lovely dog. He is incredibly human social and just loves to make friends whenever he gets the chance! In particular, Brandy loves children. He has lived with young kids ages 5-7 as well as teenagers and was great with them all! Brandy has mostly socialised with other Greyhounds, however he has been introduced to smaller breeds too. He was recently introduced to some Cavoodles, however he was a little anxious of them and avoided them when he could. Surprisingly, Brandy has also interacted with cats and doesn’t worry about them at all. He’s a bit of an enigma but overall, any introductions with cats or dogs should be done gradually and under the recommended guidelines to make sure everyone leaves with their tails wagging! Brandy is a clean and quiet boy in his kennels. You’ll only hear from him if there is someone else around and he wants to make sure you know about it too! He is a lovely calm dog, but he is also quite playful. More than anything, Brandy loves to dip his toes in water whenever he gets the chance. Brandy is a wonderful dog and overall, just a great friend. He is sweet, playful, clean, and calm- you’ll wonder how you ever lived without him! |

Skye was initially adopted from another group as a small puppy. We have been asked to help rehome her due to her owner being unable to physically care for her anymore. Sky has been in a home in NC for nearly nine years. She was born on 3/25/2015. She was from an accidental litter. Her mom is RCK Raven who has her own Facebook Page: Raven's New Adventure. Her sire is RCK Rambo. Since she was from an accidental litter, she never got ear tattoos. Her former mom did a lot of training with her and she earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen when she was just 6 months old. So she knows basic obedience commands and is a very well behaved dog on leash and in public. She was returned with another 5 year old greyhound named Jojo. She has not lived with cats, kids or small dogs, but did great on her testing with all of them. Since she was returned, she has been in a foster home with cats and has done well. She seems to like every human and animal she meets. She is very sweet, friendly and bonds fast. She loves to get up on the couch and sit next to you. She will pat you with her paw to remind you to pet her. She is very calm and laid back. Be sure to look at her other photos to see cute ones of Skye as a puppy. Skye and Jojo were adopted together again a few months ago together, where they lived with a small dog. They were returned again because both girls needed a fenced yard and their owners didn't have one. Both girls are resistant to going potty on leash and like to wander around and find the perfect spot. So a fenced yard is required for Skye. |

JoJo initially came to us as an 8 month old pup straight from a farm in Arkansas. She was the runt of the litter and only weighed 47lbs when we got her. They decided she was too small to race, so sent her to us to place in an adoptive home instead. She actually ended up growing up to be a normal smallish sized female greyhound probably weighing between 55 and 60lbs. Her new family picked out the name Joanna Nadine and called her Jojo since she was never registered and never got a racing name. Jo Jo was with the Chatham family of NC since 3/24/20 and is nearly 5 now. She was returned to us because her mom had some physical problems and couldn't care for her and her housemate Skye. Even as a puppy, Jojo would approach everything new to sniff, rather than shying away. Now she has blossomed into a wonderfully friendly, happy, girl that is fun and bouncy. Jojo is curious about everything and will be busy checking out everything. She gives kisses freely to new people and is very outgoing. She also gets along well with other dogs, but sometimes gets corrected by other dogs because she is so friendly and can come in a little strong. She did live with a small dog briefly too. She has had mixed results with cats in her foster home. When they run she wants to join in the game and give chase, but doesn't bother the cats the rest of the time. Because she is so playful, she would probably do better in a home with no kitties. Although she is not registered, she does have tattoos. Her right tattoo is 59C but her left tattoo is hard to read 73658. The last 2 numbers are really faint. Her birthday is 5/27/19 and her sire is Superior Panama and her dam is AMF Slammed Shut. Jojo has not lived with kids, but she seemed to like them when introduced. Be sure to look at her other photos to see some cute ones of her as a puppy. Jojo was in another adoptive home for a little over a month, but they didn't have a fenced yard. She was resistant to going potty on leash, even after being walked outside for extended periods. Jojo seems to like to walk around and find the perfect place to go potty on her own. A fenced yard is required for Jojo.

Bones is arriving soon from Australia. He raced 13 races and was actually good, winning 4 races in a row and becoming a finalist in the 2023 National Derby! Bones raced at Nowra, Wentworth Park, and Bulli. He raced his last race April 10th, 2023. Bones raced at 77lbs and is a very tall guy for his weight. His DOB is 1/18/21. His sire is Barcia Bale and his dam is Rockstar Stratus. He was vetted in Australia before arrival and his tattoo is NKAMZ. Bones is a big sweetheart! He is gentle and affectionate and an all-round softy. He is a super easy-going, laid back dog with a big heart. He can be a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he’ll have endless love to give! Bones will always lean into any pat you give him. He’s used to having a bit of company (usually another greyhound), so he would need a bit more practice and training before he could be left alone for long periods of time. Bones is however, well on his way to becoming a wonderful pet! He walks well on the lead, comes when he is called and only really gets excited when it’s time for food or to be let outside! Bones is a curious guy; he likes to explore and sniff around to get comfortable in a new environment. Even better, if this new environment has some treats he can munch on too! Bones has been socialised mostly with other greyhounds, but has a bit of experience with a smaller dog too. He got on well with the small dog, after some initial interest. He disengaged quickly and was able to walk along parallel without any issues. He was fine with the small dog he met after he arrived too. He had some initial interest in the cat but was equally curious about everything else in the room and he would walk away. He seems like he could be trainable with cats with some supervision at first. Bones is a fantastic guy with a beautiful temperament and with a bit of love and patience, he’ll quickly become a wonderful life-long companion. If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet dog who is just gorgeous inside and out, look no further than Bones. |

Annie just arrived from Australia. She raced 54 races mostly in 2020 and 2021. Her last race was Jan 22 of 2022. She has been living with her racing owner since then. She wasn't a great racer mainly placing and only actually won 4 races. She raced at quite a few tracks: Dubbo, Coonamble, Muswellbrook, Gunnedah, Bathurst, Maitland, Tamworth, and Moree. Annie is 66lbs and her DOB is October 1, 2018. Her sire is the famous Fernando Bale and her dam is Becky Keeping. This is Annie's description from her owner: Annie is an out and out sweetheart, well on her way to becoming a perfect pet. Despite her lack of experience living the pet lifestyle, Annie is a confident, happy girl who would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. You’ll always spot Annie by her wagging tail, always moving side to side, whether she’s sniffing around a new environment or making a new human friend! Annie is very human social and loves to meet new people. She’ll confidently approach (tail wagging of course!) and look for a little TLC. She will choose to calmly stand next to you for as long as you will pet her. She goes outside just long enough to finish her business, and then wants to come straight back inside. Annie has mostly socialised with other Greyhounds, however she has also been introduced to some small dogs. She got along just fine with the smallies and disengaged easily, overall she didn’t have much interest in them- she prefers human friends who can give her all the love and affection! Annie seems like she may be trainable with cats. She was initially very interested in the first cat she met, but after it slapped her, she backed away and didn't want to engage again. Annie is travels very well, she is cool, very very calm, and collected at all times. She is great on the lead and doesn't pull! Annie crates very well and is quiet in her crate. She has liked the small kids she has met. She is a gorgeous dog inside and out. Annie is confident, friendly, and sweet- what more could you ask for! Don’t hesitate to welcome Annie into your heart and home today. |

Serena just arrived from Australia. She raced 41 races there, won 8 of those and placed in the money often. Her last race was August 7, 2021 and she has been living with her owner since then. She raced at Moree, Coonamble, Tamworth, Bathurst, Gunnedah, Maitland, and Muswellbrook. We didn't get a weight for her but her DOB is May 28th 2018. Her sire is Brad Hill Billy and her dam is Karinya Connie. Her left ear is tattooed NHCTZ. Here is the description from her owner: Serena is a gorgeous, happy girl who can’t wait to find her forever home. She is a dog who has not had a lot of opportunities to socialise, however you would never be able to tell by how friendly and confident she is! Whether Serena is exploring a new environment or meeting a stranger, she is incredibly, happy, and confident. She loves to have a sniff around, investigating and exploring her surroundings, getting a full picture of what’s going on. Equally, she loves to meet new people (all potential new friends). She’ll come bounding over, tail wagging and tongue lolling ready to be your new best friend for life! Serena has mostly interacted with other Greyhounds, however she has also met with a small dog. The pair got along extremely well and after a sniff and hello, she was happy to disengage and be on her way again- an absolute lady! Serena is a beautiful dog with a loving, friendly energy that is hard to match. Serena is far too interested in cats to be able to live with them so needs to have a home with no kitties. She has been friendly with the children she has met too. Serena is such a happy, joyful sweet girl! She just can’t wait to find her forever home, so if you think Serena could be the love of your life, don’t hesitate to scoop her up! |

Lenny came in from Australia but never raced there. He never received a racing name since he never actually became a racer. He turned 3 on July 13th. He is a medium sized male at 73lbs. His left ear is tattooed with NKEGJ. His sire is Ritza Lenny and his dam is Winlock Ramirez. Lenny is a happy, social dog and just the life and soul of the party! He is a very active guy who just lives to play, make friends, and just have fun! Lenny is a young guy and still a pup at heart really. He likes to bounce around, getting the lay of the land and making sure he didn’t miss anything that he could have played with! He is very confident and doesn’t shy away from new experiences; be it meeting new people or exploring new environments! He has no issues with strangers, just a potential new friend to him! He’ll confidently approach with a wagging tail to let you know that he’s looking for some TLC or some playtime! In new environments he will sniff around exploring, holding his own little investigations! Lenny is a wonderful dog and would be a great addition to a lot of homes and he is very loving and sweet. He loves to give gentle kisses and loves to cuddle on the couch with you. He loves the kids he has met. Lenny has a very high prey drive and tends to mistake everything small and furry for a bunny or a squirrel, so he definitely needs a home with no kitties or small dogs. Lenny can be very strong on the lead, especially if he sees a squirrel or small animal on walks. Because of his prey drive and energy level, Lenny needs a safely fenced yard to run around in and isn't suitable for apartment or townhouse living. Lenny is a very smart guy and learns quickly. He figured out how to take off his muzzle pretty fast. He also isn't completely out of the puppy chewing stage, so needs chew toys and bones to keep him busy. Lenny has already been living in a home for a couple of months so is home acclimated. If you want a loving snuggly dog, Lenny is your guy. |

SPECIAL NEEDS Placement. Phil is located in a foster home with Adoptable Greythounds of Florida in the Tampa Florida area. Because of his special needs, he was returned by his previous owners and has been in foster care for a long time. We offered to try to get the word out to some of our adopters in hopes we can help him find a home that can work with him. This would be an adoption through the group in Florida and not Greyhound Crossroads. Phil needs a dog experienced home, that is willing to work with him. He has severe separation anxiety. Having other dogs around helps Phil some, but it is not 100 percent. He has too high of a prey drive to live with small dogs or cats. Phil would do best in a home with a calm, large, female dog and a family that is home a lot. He does not do well being crated. Phil has shown some resource guarding behavior, with his toys, so he can't be placed in a home with children. As you can see, Phil has a lot of limitations, but we are sure there is a perfect home for him out there. Phil has positives too. He absolutely loves people, leaning on you, going for walks. Dogs like Phil love too much, which cause their separation anxiety. He gets along well with other Greys in social situations. Phil raced in the US at the Sarasota Race Track and raced just 9 races. He didn't win any of them but managed to come in 3rd a couple of times. He raced his last race on April 30 2019 and was retired then and was in an adoptive home for years until he was returned. Phil is 7 years old, born 1/13/17. He raced at 73lbs. HIs sire is Swahili Eile and his dam is Kiowa Wildbraves.

Thunder came in from Australia. He raced 17 races at Potts Park, Bulli, Temora, Goulburn, Young, Nowra, Warrugul and Sale. He didn't win one of those races, but did come in 2nd a couple of times. In his last race December 2nd, he had some trouble and appears to have had an injury. He has a small spot on one shoulder that looks like an old shoulder muscle injury. It isn't an injury that will affect his life or ability to run. It is a common injury and dogs even race after that type of injury heals. But since he wasn't fast, they decided to just retire him. Thunder's sire is My Redeemer and his dam is Fabrigal. He is a 73lb glossy black guy whose DOB is 9/7/2020. He had his neuter, dental and all shots in Australia before being sent here. He has a tattoo in his left ear VJLPD and he is also microchipped. This is the description from his previous owner: Thunder is a wonderful dog who was born to be the ultimate laid-back family pet! He is as cool as a cucumber, but super affectionate and social with people and animals alike. Thunder is great with kids and very gentle. He already has experience with children ages 4 and upwards. Thunder is friendly with other animals including small dogs and cats so would be great in a home with other pets. He loves to get his energy out in the morning with a bit of a run around the yard and then lays about for the rest of the day. He would definitely suit a home with workers/school goers who are out of the house for a lot of the day. Thunder would make for a fantastic family pet and would suit almost any home. He is loving and gentle and an all-round sweetheart. Thunder is everything they said he was, except he has not done well with the cats in his foster home. When they run he just can't resist chasing them so he needs a home with no cats. He absolutely adores the children in his foster home though and loves to lay on the couch and snuggle with them. If you want a snuggly, friendly dog, Thunder is it. |

Her sire is Golden Squire and her dam is B My Merlot. Emily Rose turned 8 on May 18th and raced at 62lbs. She was adopted initially in 2019 by a family that has decided to rehome her due to a schedule change. They don't have enough time for her anymore. Emily Rose is a happy friendly girl who lived with small dogs, cats and kids in her previous home and is good with everything. We have placed several of her littermates and she is being adopted by the owner of one of them. |

Speckles is arriving soon from Australia where she raced 11 races. She was retired because she wasn't able to win or place in any of them. She raced at Dubbo, Shepparton, Warrnambool, and Bendigo. Speckles is big for a female at 72lbs. Her DOB is 9/29/21. Her sire is Destini Fireball and her dam is Destini Catalina. Speckles is a gorgeous girl with such a lovely personality, it’s hard not to fall in love with her! She is a very friendly and social girl. She can be a bit reserved on first meeting, but once she has you figured out, she’ll quickly blossom into the outgoing, fun sweetheart that she really is! Speckles is very dog social and loves to hang out with her other Greyhound friends. She may be retired, but Speckles still likes to keep active. She loves a run around the yard and to get a quick zoomie out of her system! Speckles is a fantastic dog with a wonderful personality. She is social, sweet and an all-round gorgeous dog! She would thrive in a home with lots of love and affection, but also one with enough space for her zoomies! |

Andy just arrived from Australia where he raced 25 races. He only won one of those races and retired June 13th of 2023. He raced at Temora, Young, Warragul, Traralgonn, Warrnambool, Healesville, and Geelong. His sire is Peter Rocket and his dam is Destini Jaguar. He will turn 4 on August 14th. Andy is a very tiny, male racing at just 64lbs. He is a handsome, beautiful, natured dog who is still a puppy at heart! Andy's racing owner says he can come across a bit shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he’ll be stuck by your side forever. So far he has been friendly with everyone he has met since he has arrived. He goes up to small kids and adults with his tail wagging. He’s a human-social dog who just loves comfort and someone to play with! Andy can get a little spooked by unexpected noises according to his racing owner, but once he settles in, he’s a big goofball who loves to be silly and show off! We had some thunderstorms while transporting him and he didn't seem to be worried by them and traveled really well. He’s still a young boy and so he can be playful, but only in short spurts. He would definitely suit a home with an active owner(s) and maybe teenagers/older children to play with. Don’t be worried if you’re someone who is away from home for a lot of the day, Andy is happy to have a bit of activity or playtime in the morning and then chill out for the rest of the day. Andy has lived with working sheep dogs and a Border Collie, but is happy in his own company. He has lived with older female greyhounds, but has been friendly with all the dogs he has met and traveled well with another male and 2 females. Andy is a lovely, loyal and sweet dog with the heart of a puppy. A house would quickly become a home with Andy in it. Andy was fully vetted in Australia and is microchipped. His ear tattoo is VJRNH. So far Andy has been calm and very well behaved since he has arrived, except for when he sees squirrels. Waggy, happy and friendly. He was great with the small, white Italian Greyhound he met. He was very curious about the cat he met and sniffed it and watched it for awhile, then would check out other things in the room. He returned and carefully sniffed the cat again. He didn't try to chase the cat and quickly backed away when the cat hissed or slapped him, then didn't want to get close to the cat again. He may be trainable with cats with some initial supervision. Andy does have one very odd quirk. Since Australia doesn't have squirrels, Andy had never seen one until he arrived. He is so excited to see them, he gets a little nuts. For such a small guy, he can pull very hard to get to a squirrel and it might be pretty hard to walk him through a neighborhood with squirrels. Other than that Andy seems like a sweet nearly perfect little guy. |

Gazer just arrived from Australia. He only has two races listed at Grafton and Casino and he placed 7th and 8th. He is a handsome, black male that raced at 71lbs. His DOB is 4/25/21 so is just turning 3 years old. Gazer's sire is Ace Hi Rumble and his dam is Lucille Rumble. He is tattooed in his left ear NKCHX and is microchipped. He was neutered, had his dental and all his shots in Australia before being transported to the US. This is the description we received from his previous owner: This guy is the perfect example of the cruisy greyhound. He likes to play for a little while, but then it is nap time. His favorite pastime is food tasting. Gazer has a great attitude towards life and lives it to the fullest. He is a very happy boy and loves being with his people. He is good with the Italian Greyhound he met. Cats roam the property and although most of the dogs don't interact with them, they can observe them and don't get excited when they do see them. Children interact with regularily (8 and up). Children can lead him around and he will not pull on the lead. Gazer just wants to get in the car and settles quickly and travels well. He is crate trained and is happy to sit in his crate and watch his people while they work. Gazer has been a great boy since he arrived. He absolutely loves the kids he saw ages 4 to 9. He is so friendly and happy and great on leash. He has been quiet in his crate. Gazer has been living with small dogs in his foster home. He absolutely can not live with cats. He was very focused on the cat and didn't back away even when it slapped him. Gazer does travel very well. What a nice, friendly, happy guy! |

Luke just arrived from Australia where he raced 19 races. He won 7 of those races. He raced at Wagga, Gosford, Muswellbrook, Angle Park, and Gawler. His last race was October 20 of 2023. Luke just turned 3 on April 12th. He raced at 66lbs so is a smaller guy. His sire is Dyna Villa and his dam is Hurricane Queen. Luke truly is a dog with a paw in each world; energetic and playful but at the same time, polite and laid back! Luke is a well-mannered boy, but he also loves to play and to get his steps in on his daily walks. He would ideally suit a home with a big back yard where he can run around and show off his zoomie skills! Don’t worry, when you’re ready to rest and put the feet up, he’ll be just as happy to lay around with you! Luke just loves the company of his human! Luke has met a variety of different dog breeds and gets on well with all of them including an Italian Greyhound he met after he arrived in the US. He has also met children of a range of ages and is the paw-fect gentleman as always with them! Luke is the ultimate crowd-pleaser, anyone would find something about him to fall in love with almost immediately! He’s a little gentleman who just wants to spend his days with you. Luke has been completely vetted in Australia and is microchipped. His ear tattoo is VKKRB. Luke needs a home with no cats, he failed his cat test and shows way too much interest in cats to be safe. |

Snitzel is a cute little black female that just arrived from Australia. She only raced one race at the Capalaba Track, and came in last place, on Aug 6th of 2023. Snitzel is tiny and only weighs 56lbs. She is young and won't turn 3 until December 18th. Her sire is Flying Ricciardo and her dam is Wreath. Snitzel is a gorgeous, happy, bubbly dog just over-flowing with positive energy. She is such a wonderful little lady, and everyone’s best friend! She just adores meeting people, and her tail wags regularly turn into full body wiggles! Snitzel is so full of energy and excitement for every day and every situation. She is a very confident girl and doesn’t let a new environment or a new person faze her (that’s just the potential for a new best friend!). Snitzel is also a big fan of her little-human friends! In her previous home, the neighbourhood children would regularly visit to help handle and socialise the dogs- and Snitzel would of course perform her full body wiggle for them! It's not just humans that Snitzel loves, she is also a big fan of her 4-legged friends! Snitzel likes to play with other medium to large size dogs but is also a big fan of the smaller breeds too. She did great with a tiny Italian greyhound she met when she arrived. She may come on a little strong at first, but Snitzel quickly settles and then has another new best friend under her belt! Snitzel is still quite young and very much still a puppy at heart- she just loves to have fun and fill her day with as much happiness and play as possible! Snitzel is a big fan of the water too and just loves to dip her toes and have a splash around whenever she gets the chance! Snitzel is such a beautiful dog inside and out. You won’t meet a friendlier, happier girl. Snitzel will fall in love with you just as quickly as you fall in love with her so don’t hesitate to take this fun-loving, joyful pup home with you! She was fully vetted in Australia and is microchipped. Her ear tattoo is NKHCR. Snitzel travels really well and just got in the van and laid down. She was great with the other dogs she traveled with an the dogs she met after she arrived. She really is a precious little girl. She was curious about the cat she met at first but just sniffed and lost interest. She checked out more of the house then went back and sniffed the cat again. She seemed happy to meet a new friend. |

RJ just arrived from Australia where she raced only 11 races. She raced at Dubbo, Wagga, Temora, Broken Hill, Young, and Coonamble. She showed a lot of promise and did win 4 of her early races. She took a break from racing from June 7th to August 15 of 2023. She does have an old toe injury to one of her toes on her back foot and one toe on the same foot had to be amputated so that may be why she took the break from her racing career. When she returned to racing she wasn't as fast and raced her last race September 29th of 2023. RJ is a tiny white girl with brindle spots who just turned 3 on April 1st. She only weighs 57lbs. Her sire is the famous Fernando Bale and her dam is Joyous. RJ was spayed, had a dental and all her shots before she arrived in the US. Her owner sent us this info: RJ is a sweetheart who was born to be a family pet. She is a soft, quiet, gentle, girl who is an all round dream to handle. She is wonderful to walk on leash and very easy going. She has experience living in a domestic household and can't wait to be in one again. RJ would suit almost any family type; a person living on their own, a couple, family with kids - she is a crowd pleaser! RJ has experience with kids already ages 6 and up and is fantastic with them. RJ is also dog social, having spent extended time in a yard with a Jack Russell. While she gets on well with small dogs, RJ prefers larger breeds such as Labradors or other greyhounds. Unfortunately RJ is not cat social, however that is about her only flaw. She is an incredibly placid, friendly and easy going dog that would be difficult not to fall in love with instantly. She is sweet and gentle and would make a wonderful companion in just about any home. RJ's description is very accurate. She did not pass her cat test but was great with all the other dogs and kids she met. Very calm and doesn't pull on leash. She crates well and quietly. Really sweet and well mannered. |

Ace just arrived from Australia. He is a small brindle male that raced at just 66lbs. His DOB is Nov 3 2020. Ace raced 63 races and he won 11 of those and placed in many others. He raced at a lot of tracks: Wagga, Temora, Richmond, The Gardens, Taree, and Gunnedah. He retired Feb 16th. His sire is Orson Allen and his dam is Broken Talent. Ace was neutered, had a dental and all his shots before he arrived in the US. Here is the the bio his owner sent with him: Ace is a wonder dog! A beautiful and affectionate boy who was born to be a family pet. Ace is extremely friendly and in particular loves kids ages 6 years and older. Ace just adores the hustle and bustle of a family environment. He will partake in whatever activity is happening and just loves to be involved. More than anything, Ace loves a spa day - getting pampered and having a bath are on top of his list! Ace is also dog social as he has spent some time with Blue Heeler dogs and got on well with them. Ace is a beautiful, funny and up-for-anything kind of dog who would make a wonderful addition to a family home. We found Ace's description to be right on, except for one thing. He is a friendly, happy guy, who gives kisses and loves people. He definitely has lived in a home and has great house manners. He crated quietly and slept through the night the first night in his foster home. He loves to lay on the bed and loves to go for rides in the car. He is pretty strong and excitable wanting to check out everything and pulls on leash. So it is a good thing that he is a small guy. His description says he is dog social and gets along well with cattle dogs, but we found that he has way too high of a prey drive to live with any other smaller dogs. Medium size dogs were also out. A poodle mix that was nearly his size was also a no for him. He is very excitable around other breeds of dogs and barks and just doesn't seem to like them. He also has way too high of a prey drive to live with cats. He seems like he would do great as an only dog or in a home with another greyhound (or possibly the cattle dogs he is used to). He gets along very well with the two male greyhounds in his foster home. He loves toys, but likes to take the stuffing out. He is definitely a fun guy that seemed to really like the kids he met and everyone else... except dogs and cats. |

Eve only raced 5 races at the Palm Beach Race Track before she retired in July of 2019. She didn't place in one of her races. Her racing owner took her home with hopes to breed her at some point in the future. He decided to place her with an adoptive family in April of 2020. Eve is a 64lb fawn female whose DOB is 11/25/17. Her sire is the famous Gable Sour Cream and her dam is Flying Unrest. Eve was recently returned to us to be re-homed. |

Kylie just arrived from Alabama. She is a retired racer that raced at Southland until they closed at the end of 2022. She wasn't a great racer and only won one race in her career. She raced 58 races and did place quite a few times. She is a small girl that raced at just 58lbs. She is 4 years old and won't turn 5 until September 3rd. Kylie has been in a home in Alabama since she retired from racing but they asked us for help rehoming her. Her sire is Rico's Vintage and her dam is KL's Ruth. Kylie was vetted at Emerald City Animal Hospital in Greenwood SC on 3/12/24. According to her previous owner, Kylie has a pretty high prey drive so would do best in a home with no cats or small dogs. She did not pay much attention to a small white Italian greyhound however but she may be different with small fluffy dogs that look more like bunnies or squirrels. She is a very friendly girl that wags like crazy, so hard she injured her tail the first day we had her. She loves to lay on couches and will sleep in bed with you. She bonds very fast to whoever she is with. Kylie travels well and will just get up on the seat and lay down for the trip. She is great girl!! |

Blanton is a retired show greyhound that never raced. He has been in a home since birth. He is 6 years old and is a gorgeous white and brindle male that is extra large at around 100lbs. He is retired from show life and his owner asked for our help in finding him a home. He has been fine with other large dogs that are close to his size, male and female. He plays rough though so his owner does not think he would be good with smaller dogs or cats. He is a very friendly happy guy and wouldn't mean any harm though. Just a very sweet boy. |

Eli is a black male that is a retired show champion and not a retired racer. He has been in a home is his entire life and is a friendly, happy guy. He is a very large guy with a weight in the 90s. His owner believes he would do better in a home without other dogs. He is a big boy that plays rough and can be a little pushy sometimes with other dogs. He was placed in a home with a medium sized female dog and got bitten by her when playing, so was returned to his owner. She asked us if we had a suitable family for him and we did. Eli is very friendly with people and great on leash. A really nice big boy and gorgeous. |

Breezy initially came in from the Daytona Beach race track, where she was known as Easy. She was renamed to Breezy by her first adoptive family. She has been in a home since October of 2016 and is now looking for a new home again She is a very tiny 47lbs brindle female. Breezy's DOB is 5/26/12 so she is a senior girl now. She had a long racing career. She raced 144 races at Daytona Beach Race Track and retired on September 17th. Her trainer takes her children to work with her and the kids help with turnouts and feeding so all the dogs are used to being around children. Easy's sire is Kiowa WW Brother and her dam is WW's Dogwood. We placed her brother WW's Doggy Bag already. Easy passed her cat test at the track kennel so should be fine living with cats and small dogs. She is a sweet brindle girl that now has a lot of white on her face. This is a sweet girl that is very underweight and needs some TLC. |
