Gretchen just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track in Florida. She raced 154 races mostly in Orange Park Florida and was good, getting up to A level races and racing in a few stakes races! She broke her right hock in her last race on April 18th and has been off getting healed up at her race kennel since then. She has made a good recovery and is cleared for adoption now. Gretchen is a tiny brindle girl that raced at just 56lbs. She will turn 4 on July 1st. Her sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and her dam is Lobo Serena. Gretchen is calm and well behaved so far and doing really good in foster care. She is quiet in her kennel and we think she may be a good dog for a townhouse or apartment. She passed her cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. She has done great with the children she has met too. |

Jazz is a black male that is a smaller guy that raced at 71lbs. He just turned 3 on June 10th. His sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Jasmine Breeze. Jazz originally retired from the Sanford Orlando race track after only 4 races but he has been in an adoptive home for nearly a year. They have made the difficult decision to rehome Jazz and his housemate Crow due to financial issues. They love both the dogs. Jazz is a friendly guy that likes people and is very calm and laid back. He travels well. He will not go potty on leash and likes to trot around to find that perfect place to go so will need a home with a fenced yard. Jazz gets along well with the other male in his home and seems like he would do well in a home with other males or females. He crates well and crates all night quietly but will softly whine sometimes during the day when he wants to be out or around meal times. He walks well on leash and is very sweet and loving. He is a gorgeous, shiny, black guy that loves people! He likes kids too. He is really more interested in being with people than playing with other dogs most of the time. He will lay down and roll over to get belly rubs. He can be a bit dramatic and will yelp if he even thinks something may hurt. He is a really easy guy that has been very well behaved in his homes. He would be a great dog for a first time greyhound owner or a great addition to an existing pack. He even comes home acclimated already! |

Game is an adorable, red male that just turned 5 on March 27th. He is a smaller guy that raced at 68lbs. His sire is CTW Atom Smasher and his dam is Craigie Glaze. Game is a happy, bouncy boy that is very friendly and pays close attention to the people around him. He seems to want to be with people and will even stop playing with other dogs to get attention from a person, even one he just met. He has never met a stranger and loves everyone. Game is excited to check out everything new on walks so does need some work on not pulling on leash. He has more energy than your average 5 year old greyhound and is actually one of our more energetic boys. If you want a playful, goofy, fun guy this is the one. We marked Game as older kids only just because he is so silly and playful. He loves kids and wants to play with them but with his playful, silly nature is likely to bump an unsteady toddler and knock them down accidentally. He seems like he would be a fun dog for a family with school age kids that wanted a dog that would play with them though. His ideal match would be an active involved family who is searching for a companion that is up for adventure. Game was curious about the cats in his cat test at the track but corrected well and lost interest, so we think he should be trainable with cats with supervision. He has been fine with some small, calm dogs he has met but gets pretty excited when little dogs are running around him. He is on the small side for a male greyhound but with the size difference he might do better living with medium sized dogs he can play with instead of very tiny ones. Game can be talkative when excited so would not be the best dog for apartment living. Got Game? |

Train originally raced at Orange Park in Jacksonville and raced 21 races without winning one. He retired back in May of 2005 and has been in a home since then. Sadly he has been returned to his adoption group and is looking for a new home now. We are helping his group Greyhound Lifesavers find a home for this older gentleman by advertising him on our page for them. He just turned 11 on April 26th. His sire is Craigie Whistler and his dam is Miz Mandy. Train raced at 77lbs. He is a very friendly loving guy that is calm and sweet but still has the occasional burst of playfulness. Train will snuggle at night with you if that is allowed. He is OK with kids but needs a quiet home with older respectful kids. He is still a little too interested in chasing cats and smaller dogs to be able to live with them. He has been an only dog for a long time so would be fine with as an only dog, but he is doing well with the other greyhounds in his foster home. He is good on leash and is quiet and well behaved so may be OK for apartment or townhome living but because of his age would do better with a ground floor apartment. He still likes to run and play sometimes so access to a fenced area for an occasional run would be a plus. Train is a calm older guy that is very well behaved. His only bad habit is that he loves to chew on cardboard boxes. He would love a quiet home where he can snuggle and get plenty of ear scritches. |

Clyde is a dark brindle male that just arrived from a farm in Jacksonville. We have known him since he was tiny and visited and played with his litter while he was growing up. He never raced because he just wasn't that interested in playing with or chasing the lure so never received an official racing name. He has been called Clyde all his life though. He tested cat and small dog safe. The farm he was raised on has small kids that visit frequently so he is used to being around kids. He just turned one year old on December 1st so is only 18 months old now. Clyde is very friendly and happy and pretty laid back and well behaved for a young pup. He seems like a very confident boy that wasn't phased by the move from the farm. He walked perfectly on leash for us and calmly went up to everyone he met wagging his tail. He doesn't have an official racing weight because he never raced but he weighed 69lbs at the vets. He is very tall for his weight though. All legs, very tall and thin! |

Winnie just came in from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. She raced 84 races there. Her sire is Where's King Fly and her dam is U Too Belle. Winnie is a small brindle girl that raced at just 56lbs. She turned 3 on January 26th. She retired from racing in January and was adopted but wasn't comfortable as an only dog so was returned to the track. She will need a home with another greyhound in it. She did pass her cat test so should be fine living with them and small dogs. She has already been home acclimated and is a sweet girl. Winnie seemed to like the kids she met so should do fine in a home with children. |

Boy originally came from a kennel closing at Sanford Orlando Race Track. He is a very unusual looking sable fawn with dark tips on his pale fur. His sire is Tony's Oracle and his dam is Country Ginger. He is a littermate to several other dogs we have placed. Boy turned 2 on September 3rd. He was initially pretty shy when he first arrived but is a happy, waggy boy now. City Boy is a sensitive guy though. He definitely has a preference for women and children and takes longer to get comfortable around men. He has had some bad luck with families since he was retired from racing a year ago. He was returned to us from his first family that has had him for 7 months because they were moving to Dubai for work and cannot take him. He was just returned from his second family after 4 months because they had a schedule change and no longer have time for a dog. He is a good dog and neither return was because of any issue with him. He has lived with small children in previous homes and loves them. He also has done fine with cats and small dogs he has met so can live in a home with them. Boy loves to play in the yard and likes playing with toys. If he does anything wrong he corrects very easily with a loud "NO!". He has become a goofy, happy, silly guy! Give him a rope or ball and he will be your friend for life. His potty training is excellent. He is great in a crate and will potty on leash so might be a good choice for an apartment. |

Deal just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track where she only raced 10 races. She never won a race and only placed once in her career. She is a beautiful girl that is friendly and calm. She is very young and just turned 2 on May 4th. She raced at 62lbs. Her sire is the very famous Flying Penske and her dam is Kelsos Isabella. She is a littermate to Mamas Eddiemoney who is also available. We placed her sister Mamas LeslieGore and brother Mama's Lazarus too. All are great pets that settle in quickly and have great friendly, easy going personalities that make wonderful pets. Deal passed her cat and small dog tests. She is quiet in her crate and walks great on leash without pulling. She seems a little timid and overwhelmed at first but if she is like the rest of her litter she will be fine in a day or two. |

Tonya just arrived from the Sanford Orlando track in Florida. She also raced at Palm Beach and Gulf tracks and raced 112 races. She retired due to a broken toe. She is a friendly, sweet girl, so much so that she was a favorite of her trainer's in the kennel. Tonya raced at 63lbs and her sire is Team Record. Her dam is Silver Sloan. She turned 4 on January 12th. Tonya Passed her cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. Tonya is doing great in foster care so much so that her foster home is considering keeping her. Tonya is staying at the vets to get her broken toe cared for. |

Chastity is a cute, little, fawn girl that raced at just 58lbs. She raced 112 races at Wheeling Downs and Orange Park and was pretty good, placing in a few Stakes Races. Chastity is a little shy at first but warms up pretty fast. Her sire is Rhythmless and her dam is Bob's Scorpion. Her birthday is July 12th. Chastity did pass her cat test. She has been living in a foster home around small dogs and is good with them too. She has also done very well with the small children she has met so should be fine in a home with them. Chastity settled in quickly to foster care and is very smart and is picking up basic obedience lessons quickly. She will sit for a treat now, down and is working on stays and fetch. Although she can be a little timid at first, she enjoys attention and likes to play with toys. She is very quiet in her kennel and goes potty on leash so would be a good apartment or townhouse dog. Chastity loves to lay in a baby pool on warm days. Chastity does better with other dogs around and seems to follow their example so would be most comfortable in a home with other dogs. |

Rain is a mostly white guy with black brindle spots and lots of freckles. He raced at 75lbs. He will turn 5 on June 29th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his Dam is Solitary Gentle. He was a great racer that even competed in and won Stakes races. He has 90 races to his credit and mostly A and AA which is the top level of racers. He competed at a top track too - Wheeling in WV -where he raced until August of 2012. He had an injury that forced him to retire then, but his racing owner took him back to the farm and completely rehabbed him from his injury before placing him with our adoption group. We placed him in an adoptive home in July of last year but he is being rehomed now because of a move and an apartment that won't take larger dogs. His owner says he can't say enough good things about Rain. He is perfectly behaved, great with cats, kids and small dogs. Loves everyone he meets and is very sweet and social and loves to give kisses. He is content and quiet in his crate and has been living in an apartment. He is quite the ham and has a great personality but is calm and well behaved. He is gorgeous too! |

Sharky just arrived from Orlando Florida. He is an extra large, gorgeous black male that raced at 86lbs. He was born on Nov 4th and his sire is Rhythmless and his dam is JJ's I See Spots. Sharky retired after 97 races at Sanford Orlando, Palm Beach and at Derby Lane race tracks. He had a minor shoulder muscle injury that forced him to retire but that shouldn't effect his life as a pet at all or cause any permanent limp. Sharky did pass his cat and small dog test at the track and is living in a foster home with cats so would be fine in a home with cats or little dogs. Sharky has a wonderful personality. He is calm and pretty good on leash. He is very well behaved and has settled into his foster home wonderfully. He is super sweet and loving and loves people. This stunning, tall guy is ready for a home! |

Heart is a littermate to Rumble that is arriving with her. She was called Racin when she was racing but has been called Heart since at the farm so has two names. She was a better racer than her sister starting out at Derby Lane winning most of her top level A races then moved to Southland in Arkansas to race in AA races. She only raced 45 races and got bumped in a turn when she was at the top of her game and was injured in January of 2010. Heart raced at 67lbs and is a daughter to Wheelie Cool who we also placed. Her sire is Maryville Rumble. She was born Oct 13th of 2006. Heart went to Kansas to became a mom after she was retired and has 4 litters of puppies (26) that are already racing. Now she has retired from being a mom and is ready to start her new career as a pet. Her trainer says both girls were calm well behaved dogs that he loved having the kennel. More as we get to know her. |

Sky Rose is an 8 year old brindle female that has been in a home for years. She only raced a short time and was originally adopted in 2008. Her owner was forced to return her because she is in the hospital battling cancer. Sky Rose has been a great companion and is a wonderful girl and this is very hard for her owner. Sky Rose is a little timid at first but is warming up quickly to her foster family. Even though she is usually a bit shier with men, she is following her foster dad around already. Her sire is Yankee Patriot and her dam is Miss Van Gogh. She turned 8 on December 16th and raced at 60lbs. She weighed in at 62 at the vets. She was checked out by our vet and got everything updated. Sky Rose got a fresh dental, had a few bad teeth pulled and has been cleared for adoption. This is a sweet, girl that has already lived in a home so is home acclimated and has good house manners. She has lived with cats and the cat in her last home curled up and slept with her. She is also great with small dogs and kids. Because she is over 8 years old Sky Rose qualifies for a reduced adoption fee of $200. Be sure to click on her other photos to see some of her when she first retired and was much younger. |

Miles just arrived from the Orange Park track in Jacksonville. He raced 33 races mostly at Orange Park but also a few at Naples Ft Myers. Miles is a handsome, white and fawn guy that raced at 69lbs. His sire is Braska Omni and his Dam is Braska Jiffy. Miles won't turn 3 until September 22nd. He did want to chase cats when tested at the track so needs a home without cats. He is living with a small white dog in his foster home and is great with him. Miles is a happy, playful guy. Very outgoing and loving. He chooses to be with people over other dogs and will stand looking at his foster mom happily wagging his tail and play bowing to her to get attention instead of following the other dogs outside. He is good with the other males in his foster home though. He is excited to see everything new on walks and pulls some so we are working on better leash manners. Miles is going to be a fun, entertaining boy that is going to really show a lot of love to the family that choses him. Miles has crated quietly in his foster home so may be OK as an apartment or townhouse dog. He is a joy to have around. Miles is an exceptionally loving dog that is going to be very devoted to his new family. |

He weighs 69lbs so is on the smaller side for a male. His sire is Lo Norman and dam is Tiger Girl. Taft didn't pass his cat test at the track so probably will need a home without cats. He is calm but did go up to people at the track wanting to interact with them. More as we get to know him. |

Hurricane is a very small guy that raced at just 66lbs. His sire is Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Cayenne Kauai. Hurricane will turn 3 on June 15th. Trouper is a handsome, brindle boy with cute floppy ears. His photos don't really show the rich red in his coat that is so gorgeous. He raced at 77lbs. He raced 63 races at Tri State in WV and Orange Park in Florida. He is a happy, friendly, waggy guy that is happy to see everyone. He just celebrated his 4th birthday on February 24th. Trouper's sire is Tempo Petrocelli and his dam is Synergy. Trouper showed no interest in the small dogs at the vet clinic when he saw them so should be OK to live in a home with them. He was very curious about the cats in his cat test but corrected well so we hoped he would be cat trainable. In foster care he was a little too interested in the cats for us to be comfortable with though. Since he was borderline and would need a lot of training to be OK with cats we decided to mark him "no cats". Trouper has liked the kids he was exposed to at the race track and in his foster home. He is very smart and figured out how to remove his kennel muzzle at the track. He also figured out the doggy door in his foster home as soon as he saw it. Trouper is a very outgoing guy that is very sweet and loving. He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home and has a favorite girl that he likes to snuggle with. Trouper has been in his foster home now for a little while so is home acclimated and should be an easy addition to just about any home. This guy has lots of love to give his new family! |

Homey raced for a long time mainly at Sanford Orlando but also at Dubuque. She has 150 races listed on Track info and most of those have video. For some reason only 11 are listed on Greyhound data though. Homey was a good racer and won her last race in early January. She broke her leg exercising between races. Homey had already been in a cast a month before we got her and is expected to be released for adoption in May. She is expected to make a full recovery. Homey is a smaller girl that raced at 57lbs. She will turn 5 on May 15th. Her sire is Dox Out of Peace and her dam is Jewels Homerun. Homey did not pass her cat test at the track so will need a home without cats. She has been very good with the small dogs she has met though. She is a very sweet girl that has a great personality! Very outgoing and loving. She loves to snuggle with people and is a very happy girl that is doing great in her foster home. |

Missy is a tall, black girl that raced at 71lbs. She has a beautiful, shiny coat and is really a head turner. Missy is calm, gentle and sweet. She is a daughter of the famous Kiowa Mon Manny. Her dam is USS Top Dolly. Missy turned 3 on October 21st. She has the cutest little floppy ears that give her a cute puppyish look. Missy is a friendly, social girl that loves people. She is comfortable in about any situation and nothing seems to stress her out. She has lived around kids and likes to be around them. Missy is playful, happy and interested in everything going on around her. She loves being involved in whatever her people do. She is an excellent meet and greet dog that calmly goes up to people for love and does that wonderful greyhound lean/hug. Her only flaw is a high prey drive that causes her to mistake cats and smaller dogs for bunnies so she needs a home without little animals. Medium to large dogs of other breeds are fine. She does get along well with other dogs. Missy does potty on leash so may be fine in a home without a fenced yard. She managed to jump over a 4 foot fence when chasing a cat out of the yard so will need a 5 or 6 foot fence if she goes to home with a fenced yard. Missy has been in our foster program for nearly half of her life waiting on the right home only because she needs a home with no small animals and a high fence or one willing to leash walk her. She was in one adoptive home for a few months but they had a work schedule change which made it impossible to keep her. This is a very sweet girl with an excellent personality that always makes her a star wherever she goes. If your home meets Missy's requirements please consider adopting this sweet gentle girl. She has a lot of love to give and has been waiting on the right family for a very long time. |

Dell came from the Orlando Track. He is a rare blue brindle male that raced at 72lbs. He has 51 races listed at Palm Beach in Florida and Abilene KS. Dell's sire is Iruska All Star and his dam is WW's Oprah. Dell is actually a star, he was very good and won 5 Stakes Races in a row and was the 2012 Bob Balfe Champ! He was injured in a fall in June of last year and was sent back to the farm for rehab and has been there since. It was a sprain to his front ankle but isn't noticeable now at all. When they tried to put him back on a lure to get him back to racing he would favor that leg a bit afterward so they decided to officially retire him after a year. He is fine running and playing in the yard and the leg doesn't bother him doing that level of exercise. He would even be fine for long walks, jogs or even hikes because he is a higher energy guy. He has no restrictions. Dell has a thick fuzzy farm coat from living outside right now that is shedding out. He will be a sleek rich, deep red with gray stripes when it does. Dell did not pass his cat test so needs a home without cats. He was in a foster home with a 10lb dog and was fine with him though so should be fine in a home with small dogs. He will turn 4 on May 2nd. Dell is a happy, energetic boy that is bouncy and goofy. He did excellent on his potty training, not one mistake in the house! Dell loves to play with stuffed toys and is careful with them and doesn't tear them up. He also loves chasing a ball. He is a strong guy that is wanting to go check out everything he sees so his foster home is working on teaching him to walk on leash without pulling. Dell is very friendly and loving and will settle in the room you are in on a dog bed to stay close. This is a stunning guy that is so muscular he probably should be called Arnold. He is one of our higher energy guys which is why he got the older children only rating. He would probably be the perfect dog for a family with school age children that would want a playful fun dog. He could accidentally knock down a toddler though even though he would never intentionally hurt anyone. This is a sweet guy that would be wonderful for a home that wanted a dog to do things with like obedience or Rally. He has the energy to enjoy working and having fun with his family and isn't the typical greyhound couch potato. |

Striker was originally named Orator by his owner because he was very talkative and would sometimes sound like he was telling stories as a pup. They called him Striker at the racing kennel. He raced 96 races at 79lbs. He raced his entire career at Derby Lane in D'Arcy Kennels and was very good getting up to A level and even racing in a couple of stakes races. Striker is a very friendly happy guy that will turn 4 on August 10th. He is a very flashy black male with a white blaze on his nose and a lot of white on his chest. His sire is Group Rooster and his dam is WWW Tracey Neal. Striker passed his cat and small dog test so should be fine to live with both! |

Shelby has been in an adoptive home for years. She was originally placed by a group in Michigan but moved down here with her family. The place the family moved to here didn't allow pets over 25lbs though so Shelby is looking for a new home. She is a very sweet, friendly girl. She already has good house manners and is good with cats, small dogs and kids. Her family said that she doesn't use the crate anymore and doesn't get into anything when she is out all day. She is a quiet, laid back girl but she still loves to run and play in the yard. Shelby only has 11 races listed at the now closed Dairyland Race Track in 2006 and 2007. Her sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and her dam is Cals Undefined. Her foster family says she is very sweet and easy. Very well behaved and is a fun girl that acts much younger than she is. Because of her age Shelby qualifies for a reduced adoption fee of $200. |

Force just arrived from the Jacksonville Race track. He also raced at Southland in Arkansas and at Derby Lane in Florida. He raced 91 races and raced at 74lbs. Force's sire is TK Primetime and his dam is T Dazzle so he is a half brother of our puppy Gibbs that is also up for adoption. We also placed his sister Emo so her owner is planning to foster Force. He is a beautiful black brindle with a few brownish stripes, not orange or fawn stripes like most brindles have. He is very unusual looking and very handsome. He was raised on a farm in Jacksonville with a lake so he loves water and loves to swim. He is friendly and was raised around kids. Force is social and sweet. He didn't pass his cat test at the track so needs a home without cats but he did fine with a small 10lb white dog after a quick sniff to identify it. Force seems like a wonderful guy. |

Ed is a handsome boy that raced at one of the top tracks in the country Wheeling Downs in WV. He was a very good racer racing at A and AA levels there which is as high as a greyhound can go. Ed raced 88 races at 79lbs so is a pretty big guy. He turned 4 on October 3rd. His sire is is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is the famous Dreamy Blossom so he has very good genes. Ed passed his cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either and he has lived with small dogs before. He also has done great with the kids he has met. He is a friendly, happy, very sweet guy. He has been in an adoptive home since November but had some separation anxiety when left totally alone without even any other dogs for company. Ed was fine in his foster home with other dogs around so we think he just needs to be placed in a home with another dog. |

Stormy was a very successful racer that raced at Daytona Beach FL and Wheeling WV Derby Lane and has 120 races to her credit. She will celebrate her 5th birthday on August 22nd. After her racing career she went back to the farm to be a brood mom. We got her by accident when she was sent instead of another brood that looked just like her. By the time they realized the error she had been spayed and adopted already. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Royal Snowdrop. She raced at 65lbs. Because of the identity switch at the farm she was adopted out to a family that had been waiting on the other brood, Deco Caraways, to retire. They had Stormy for months thinking they had Cara before the mistake came to light. They eventually adopted Cara too. |

GIbbs is a rare greyhound puppy that is available for adoption! Gibbs won't be one until May. His sire is Djay's Octane and his dam is T Dazzle who is also the mom of Set Force that we have available for adoption. We have known Gibbs since he was a tiny puppy on his dog farm in Jacksonville. He was special and had some mobility problems and weakness in his rear end from the time he was very tiny. His owners aren't sure if he was stepped on by his mother when he was very tiny or if he was born that way. It has been obvious since he was very small that he would never race though. Although we could have easily adopted him out when he was tiny, his owners and our group decided it was best for Gibbs to stay on the farm. He had access to a huge area to run in, a lake to swim in and his littermates to play with on the farm. We felt his best chance to grow up strong was to be raised there with all that exercise to develop his muscles. It worked! Gibbs is strong and healthy now. Much better than he was as a small puppy. He still has an odd stride and isn't as fast as the other pups but he plays hard and has fun. His litter just headed off to race training so now Gibbs is ready to get on with his life and find a family to love him. Because he was special, Gibbs got extra attention from everyone on the farm and had lots of visitors. He is very loving and sweet and has been handled a lot since he was tiny. We have photos of him from the time he was born that our volunteers and his owners took at the farm. Gibbs is a very special greyhound that needs a very special home. Because he is still a puppy he will need a fenced yard that he can play in and won't be suitable for apartment living. Gibbs has been running freely on a farm and hasn't been on leash until we picked him up so will need some training on how to walk on leash. He is a natural sitter and will sit right down and stop if you pull on the leash. Something all puppies have to learn. He does travel really well and was the best behaved dog on our trip up from Florida. He just curled up and went to sleep. He is a very loving puppy that is so sweet. Be sure to look at Gibb's other pictures to see his adorable tiny puppy photos! |

Jade is a friendly, happy boy that is pretty calm. He has been in a home for a year and a half now but they had to return him due to the economy and having to move in with relatives. Jade is already home acclimated and lived with several kids in their home and was great with them. He was very loved and this has been terribly hard for the kids and adults in his family. Jade fetches and knows some tricks. He is good with cats and small dogs. He is also pretty quiet in his crate. This is a great guy that has been a pet for some time already and is already trained and well behaved. Jade is fantastic with children and came from a home with several that he really enjoyed playing with. |

Rainy has been in home for 2 years but their lifestyle recently changed and they really don't have time for her anymore so returned her. Rainy originally came from the Orlando track. She is a sweet, friendly girl that is  a very happy, confident, and loving. Her tail is happily wagging most of the time. Her birthday is 5/20/09 so she is almost 5. She raced at 60lbs. She passed her cat and small dog tests and has been babysat and fostered with very small dogs and has lived in a home with a cat. Rainy is a Tony's Oracle pup and a full littermate to a wonderful boy that we placed already.  She is such a sweet girl and is so happy to see you when you come home, she wags her tail and her entire body. She is a smart girl that likes toys and loved running and playing in her big backyard with her lab housemate. She loves kids but we have her marked older children only because she has growled about her space some when sleeping. She needs to be placed with kids old enough to understand that all dogs need to be left alone when sleeping. She is doing great with the other dogs in her foster home, small and large. |

Fluffy is a small red female that raced 169 races. She raced most recently at Orange Park in Jacksonville Florida but also raced at Naples/Ft Myers, Mardi Gras in Florida and Dubuque in IA. She was pretty good and got up to the A level of racing. Fluffy's sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Worst To First. She will turn 5 on Nov 29th. Fluffy is a very friendly happy girl that gives kisses and rolls over for belly rubs. She is all about attention and will stand next to you calmly to be petted as long as you keep petting her. She has also crawled up into her foster mom's lap a time or two. Good thing she is a tiny 57lb girl! She walks great on leash and passed her cat and small dog tests without showing any prey drive toward either. She has been fine with the small dogs in her foster home but has been grumpy with the other greyhounds male and female in her foster home so we think she would prefer to just be in a home with no other dogs where she can get all the attention. She has never shown any grumpiness with people. Just the opposite. Very submissive and very loving with people. |

Barts Fearsome is a brindle female that just retired from the Sanford Orlando track after 205 races. Fearsome is anythig but Fearsome. She is actually friendly and happy. She raced in Orlando, Sarasota, and Melbourne. She was a good racer competing at the top level for many of those races and winning a lot. She is very focused on racing but not so much on cats. During her cat test they couldn't get her to pay any attention or focus on the cat. She was too busy checking everything else out. We may need to test her again to be sure but that is a pretty good sign and means she will most likely be able to live with cats and small dogs and has no interest in chasing them. Her sire is Voyage Seeker and her dam is B's Optimistic. She raced at 60lbs and will turn 5 on June 30th. More as we get to know her. |

Mary is a small brindle girl that just arrived from the Palm Beach track. She also raced briefly at Bluffs Run in Iowa. She raced at 57lbs so is a tiny girl. We placed one of her littermates Astar TopDiamond and a half brother Astar Man Uptown so are excited to get her too. Her sire is Astartwelvegauge and her dam is Chel's Rocknroll. Mary just turned 3 on Jan 2nd. Mary passed her cat and small dog tests so should do fine in a home with either. She is a sweet calm girl that seems like she will be an easy addition to any home. |

Wade just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Fl. He is a happy waggy boy that was picked for one of our foster homes in a townhouse because he crates quietly. He is a smaller guy racing at 68lbs, very short but stocky and looks like a little body builder. He just turned 3 on February 27th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is Pam Ford. He raced 53 races mostly at Orange Park but also a few at Derby Lane. Wade passed his cat test at the track so should be fine to live in a home with cats or small dogs. He pulls a little on leash but his foster home takes her dogs on plenty of walks and he is doing much better after just the first day. |

Dewey is a return that has been in a home since he was very young. He was originally adopted from the Raynham Track in Boston after an unsuccessful racing career of just 5 races. Dewey was returned to us because his family couldn't take care of him anymore. He just turned 10 on Jan 23rd. His sire is Grenade and his Dam is Pin Oak Shasta. He raced at 76lbs so is a mid sized male. He has done great with the cats he has met so should be fine in a home with cats or small dogs. Dewey is very friendly and will stand with his head in your lap for love just about as long as you will pet him. Being an older guy he is calm and already knows house manners so would be an easy addition for any family. Because of Dewey's age his adoption fee is reduced to only $200. |

Bunny is a young 7 month old puppy that broke one of her legs while playing with her littermates. Her owners asked us to take her after surgery to plate the leg. She came through surgery fine and was transported to our group. She is healing well and is expected to make a full recovery. Bunny's sire is Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is TDS Molly. We don't typically get very many greyhound puppies so this is a rare chance to get one. They are much different than the calm retired racers. Like any puppy they need supervision, training and plenty of exercise. As soon as she is healed and well enough to run around again she will need a fenced yard to play in. Bunny enjoys playing with a small dog in her foster home and loves children so should do well in a home with either. |

Mo's Romeo is a littermate to a dog we placed named Owe Nomo. His sire is Domingo Dodge and his Dam is Barts Joplin. We also placed Mo's Biter, Mo's Strider and Mo's Aragorn that are full brothers from a previous litter. Romeo never raced because of an injury to his front leg that he had as a puppy. His racing owner took him home until the leg healed. He healed up and runs and walks on the injured leg just fine. He passed his cat and small dog test and is described as very sweet and calm. Mo's foster family is wanting to keep him if he settles in well at their home. |

Tory is a cute little black girl that raced at 60lbs. She just arrived from Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Fl. Tory will turn 4 on June 23rd. She has 105 races to her credit and started out racing at Tri State Race Track in WV. Tory did not pass her cat test at the track and has mistaken small dogs for squirrels so needs a home with no cats or tiny dogs. She is a happy, waggy, friendly girl that likes people and loves children, we have her listed as older children only just because she gets pretty excited and runs around when she first comes out of her crate and might knock a toddler over accidentally. Her sire is Farloe Black* and her dam is RCK Sunshine. Tory seems like she might be a good apartment dog. She crates quietly and only makes some noise when you first come home. Excited to see you. She potties well on leash. Tory is also the rare greyhound that likes to play fetch and will keep bringing the ball back to you. She is a happy, bouncy girl that is going to be a really fun family dog. |

Hood is a pure white male that only has a few speckles on his ears. Hood had a minor injury to his front ankle so he was retired before he even had one official race. He doesn't even limp now most of the time so is nearly well already. Hood just arrived from the Orange Park kennel in Florida. He is very young and won't even turn two until June 25th. Hood's sire is Leftem In A Haze and his dam is Ultimate Cupcake. He doesn't have a racing weight be we guess him to be around 75lbs. Hood passed his cat test at the track but is a little interested in the cat in his foster home. Because he is still a pup he needs reminders not to play with the cat. The same thing with very small dogs. Because he is a playful pup, Hood would probably do better with medium sized dogs rather than really tiny dogs. He liked the kids he met at the track. Because he is still so young he was described as silly and playful. He is very friendly and seems like a nice happy guy that is pretty calm for a pup. He has done fantastic on his potty training in his foster home. He is a gorgeous boy that has a cute, sweet personality as well. |

Cat is a sweet, red brindle, female that has a beautiful mostly orange coat without a lot of striping. She turned 2 on November 24th. Her sire is EM's Mac Attack and her dam is Flying Lickin. She raced 52 races at 61lbs. Cat raced at Southland in Arkansas, Dubuque, Naples Ft Myers, Sarasota and most recently at Sanford Orlando. She is a friendly, happy little girl. She is friendly and so waggy that she seriously injured her tail by wagging it up against things and it had to be removed. So she has no tail now but she is so cute no one will even notice. She sniffed the cat at the vets and then lost interest so probably will be OK in a home with cats. She is good on leash and has been pretty laid back and quiet so far. While Cat was at the vet clinic she fell in love with Sharky one of the males that is also available and stayed with him all the time. She really liked all the children she has met. We just found out that Cat does the greyhound grin when she gets really happy. Very cute! |

Worry is not really a worrier she was just named after her mom. She is a sweet girl that is calm and friendly. She just turned 2 on January 8th. Her sire is Kelsos Fusileer and her dam is Pat C O'Anxious. She is a pretty red brindle girl that walks nicely on leash. She raced at 62lbs and raced at Palm Beach, Sarasota and most recently Sanford Orlando. She is being fostered with a small white dog and is fine with him. She didn't pass her cat test so needs a home with no cats. She has been a little loud in her crate at first in her foster home so may not be the best dog for apartment living. This is a sweet cute girl. |

McKenna just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track after racing most of her 114 races there. She also race briefly at Melbourne. She is a small brindle girl that raced at 56lbs and won't turn 4 until October 10th. Her sire is Jimbo Scotty and her dam is Barts Milly. She passed her cat test so should be able to live in a home with cats or small dogs. McKenna is a calm, quiet girl that walks very nicely on leash. She is being fostered in a townhouse and has done well there. She does potty on leash so would be fine for a home without a fenced yard or a townhouse. |

Nan raced 30 races at Jacksonville, Orange Park, Naples Ft Myers and finally JCKC. She never won a race so finally was retired. We placed her as a young girl. Sadly her owner just passed away so she needs a new home at 9 years old. She is a smaller female that raced at just 58lbs. Her sire is Epic Prince and her dam is D's Nother Star. She just turned 9 on March 6th. DOB is 3/6/05. Nan is a sweet calm girl that is well behaved and doing well in foster home. This one comes pre trained! Because she is a bit older Nan qualifies for a reduced adoption fee of $200. She is sweet and loving and waiting on a home. She is good with cats, small dogs and children. |

Trent is a young red brindle male that has no races listed. He came from the Birmingham Alabama track. His weight is listed as 71lbs and he won't turn 2 until May 10th. Trent's sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Gable Jersey. Trent is very outgoing and friendly. He loves everyone he meets and is very quick to greet new people. He is curious and happy, wagging his tail. Even in his pictures his tail is wagging and is a little blurry. He has a lot of personality and is a fun guy. He doesn't seem to be bothered by new situations and settled right down as soon as he was put in his crate. He traveled well on the trip too. Trent seems like he would be trainable with cats. He wants to please so much he will give up toy on command and is a natural sitter that will sit for treats. He would probably be a good obedience or agility prospect. He loves the kids he met, but was so enthusiastic in his greeting he could easily knock over a toddler so we marked him older kids only. He easily passed his small dog test so should be fine in a home with smaller dogs. Trent is still a pup but his foster mom thinks he is a very smart guy that picks up things quickly. |

Susan just arrived from the Sanford Orlando track in Florida. She is a white female with black spots that raced at 57lbs. Susan retired after 23 races due to a sprained hock. She won't turn 3 until October 2nd. Her sire is the very famous Flying Penske and her dam is Fuzzys Sylvia. Susan did pass her cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. She is described as being very friendly. More as we get to know her. |

Worker is a tiny light fawn male that raced at just 66lbs. He just retired from the Birmingham Alabama race track after 178 races. He will turn 4 on June 21st. Worker's sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is CTW Make It Work. Worker is pretty shy at first with new people and shies away from fast movements. He did OK with a family with children that met him but didn't really interact much with either the adults or the children because of his shyness. He will just need some time to warm up to new people and new situations. He did pass his cat test because he was even shy with the cat and tried to avoid it and had no interest in chasing cats. Most of our shy dogs we list as older children only just because the fast movements and loud noises that small children make tend to scare the shy ones. |

Impact is a very friendly brindle boy that raced at 69lbs. He was a really good racer that won stakes races. His brother was one of the top greyhounds in the country too. Impact raced at several tracks before he retired- Bluffs Run, Dubuque and Naples Ft Myers. He ran 164 races. Impact rode nicely on the trip and seemed like a very friendly, happy, guy that would lean against us for petting and loved to be with people. He did good with some very small dogs he met so should be fine in a home with small dogs. He still needs to be cat tested. Impact's sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is Jewels Tango. His birthday is July 14th. Impact is doing great in foster care. He was a star at his first outing. He went to the Columbia Home and Garden show and loved all the attention. He wasn't phased by the commotion and did fantastic there. He liked all the children he met there so should be fine for a home with kids. Sweet boy! |

King raced at Derby Lane track in Florida. He raced at 73lbs and just turned 5 years old. His birthday is Feb 2nd. His sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his mom is Dreamy Blossom! King was a pretty good racer too. He is a sweet guy that is just a little timid at first but warms up fast. He is doing great in his foster home with a variety of other dogs. King loves to play with stuffed animals but for the most part he is calm and laid back. He is quiet in his crate so might be a great dog for an apartment or townhouse. King is so well behaved that he would probably be a good choice for a first time dog owner. He has done well at meet and greets and is getting much more outgoing as he is exposed to more people. His foster home says he is a very good boy and he has been a perfect house guest. King has lived in a home for awhile but was returned because he didn't do well being bothered by children when sleeping. He is great with kids normally and likes respectful children but we would prefer not to place him with younger kids that may not understand that sleeping dogs should always be left alone. |

Jai is a cute red girl that raced at 63lbs. She raced almost all of her 129 races at Sanford Orlando but had a few early races at Gulf inTexas. She broke her hock on Nov 2nd in a race and was transported to our vet right away. She has had several surgeries and has finally been released for adoption as of Feb 1st. She still limps and won't have complete use of her leg because it will not bend at the hock. It doesn't phase her at all though and she gets around just fine. She loves to go hiking on the farm with her foster dad and can go as far or farther than the other dogs. She plays and runs and has a great time. Jai will celebrate her 4th birthday on March 14th and she hopes she will celebrate with her new family. Her sire is Kiowa Mon Manny so she is a half sister to Shrimpy. Jai's dam is D's Penny Annie. She is a very sweet, bouncy, friendly girl that loves a good time will want to do anything her family does. She is a big smiler and grins when happy or excited. She wags so hard her whole body wags. This girl has a ton of personality! Jai potties nicely on leash so may be a great dog for a home without a fenced yard. She was pretty interested in chasing the cats she met at the vet's office so isn't going to be able to live with cats but does seem like she will be fine with small dogs. If you want a dog that will get up on the couch and snuggle with you this is your girl. She is curious about everything and isn't phased by new things - she loves adventure almost as much as she loves meeting new people. Jai loves playing with stuffed toys and will get a toy, play with it for a couple of minutes then go to the toy box and get out another one to play with. She will take her toys to the male greyhound in her foster home and drop them by him hoping to coax him into playing with her. This is a sweet girl! If you would like to make a donation toward Jai's medical bills please donate to our Wounded Athlete Fund |
