He is a smart, well-behaved boy that likes to please and do the right thing. He is very loving and sweet. You won't find a nicer guy. Congratulations to the Thornburg Family of Charlotte!

Jaqueline just arrived from the track. She is very young and wasn't at the track long. After schooling her about 9 times her trainers decided that she just didn't have what it took to be a successful racer and retired her. So her short career at the track only consisted of schooling races and no real races. Jaqueline is a real love according to her foster family so seems like she will be much more successful as a pet. She is a small girl that is around 57lbs. Her birthday is June 25th.

Giselle is a tall beautiful girl that raced at 70lbs. Her birthday is May 10th. She has settled into foster home with no problems at all and is very well behaved and quiet. She hasn't had a single accident in the house. GIselle has an old leg break from her racing days that is fully healed but limits the movement of her foot a bit causing a permanent limp. She still enjoys running, playing and going for walks and doesn't let it stop her. Giselle likes the security of her crate and chooses to spend time there. She takes things like toys and newspapers to her crate and stores them there. Giselle seems like she would do best in a quiet home. A lot of commotion and wild, loud children would probably be too much for this sensitive beauty.

Country Man just arrived and is doing well at a foster home with cats and children. He is a very good, sweet guy that never caused any trouble at the track. He was very friendly and loving with his trainers in the environment he was familiar with. Since his move from the track he has been pretty shy and reserved. He just arrived so will probably just need a little time to warm up to new surroundings and new people. Country Man just celebrated his 4th birthday on June 28th. He is a smaller guy that raced at just 67lbs

He passed his cat and small dog tests with flying colors so seems to be a lower prey drive dog that would be fine living with either. He turned 3 on February 5th. So far his foster home thinks that he is going to be an exceptionally well behaved boy. Shot is a half brother to one of our other available dogs Gavin. Also a couple of recently adopted or pending dogs Shawna and Goofy.

Brandy is a cute little girl with the cutest ears that she can put in just about any position. She raced at 58lbs so is a small but very muscular girl. She is very young and just turned 2 June 13th. She is higher energy for a greyhound.. She would be a great prospect for an obedience greyhound or an agility greyhound because she isn't going to get bored and take a nap in the middle of class like most lazier greyhounds. She is very outgoing and curious about everything and everything makes her happy. She seems like a bright girl that will be a fast learner and wants to please. She is very people oriented and really wants to help you do whatever you are doing and would love to have a "job". She is very agile and is a great jumper and seems like she has springs in her legs. When running around the yard she takes every opportunity to jump things like the diving board, lawn chairs and easily leaps 6 stairs to jump up on the porch. She is beautiful to watch soaring over things. We think she would be excellent at agility because she is the rare greyhound that actually seems to enjoy jumping. She passed her cat and small dog test and is currently being fostered with a small dog. Brandy is going to be a fun girl and is the type that will be the life of any party. She does crate quietly so could live in an apartment or a townhouse. She also potties well on leash so may do OK without a fenced yard. She is going to need a good bit of daily exercise if she doesn't have a yard to play in though. Brandy loves children.

Her Pedigree

Update: Brandy was adopted and she is now known as Bailey. She is one of the top agility greyhounds in the country so watch for her on TV competing at the top levels of her sport. She also is doing obedience and is excellent at that, like we knew she would be. She is still very energetic and loves to work with her mom.

Bebo is a handsome medium sized guy that raced at 71lbs. He turns 3 on July 25th. He tested cat and small dog tolerant at the track so should be fine living with either. Bebo is a laid back, but friendly guy that was chosen by his trainers as an easy well behaved dog that would be good for a first time foster home. He is good on leash, crates quietly and only had two accidents in the house during his potty training. He is a fantastic boy that is calm and would be an easy addition to just about any home. Bebo has discovered toys and has started playing with them. He did good on a recent trip to Petco walking in nicely on leash. He negotiated the slippery floors and politely greeted adults, children and other dogs. He gets along great with the other male greyhound in his foster home too. With Bebo's calm easy going nature he would probably have no problem passing a therapy dog test.

She raced at 63lbs. She probably would not do well in an apartment because she does not like to potty on leash. Since she needs her privacy she would do best in a home with fenced yard. This is one SWEET SWEET girl that has been very well behaved in her foster home. Tory is very loving and will bond to her family quickly. If you look at her old photos you will see her amazing transformation. When she arrived she had fleas and had a lot of hair loss from them. Now that her hair has grown back in she is a sleek, shiny, beauty as you can see from her most recent photo.

Sadie is a small, happy, outgoing, girl that raced at 60lbs. She looks smaller than that because she is very short legged and stocky. She can walk right under a larger male without touching. Her sire is Flying Stanley and her dam is Kiowa Shag Shag. She likes people, makes great eye contact and does the funniest little head rub on you if she is happy to see you and she is ALWAYS happy to see you. She is living in a foster home with cats and small dogs and is fine with them. Sadie is a very young girl that doesn't turn 2 until July 3rd but is very well behaved and mature for her age. She has learned to potty on leash now so would probably be fine without a fenced yard. She is very quiet in her crate so should be a good apartment or townhouse dog. She seems like she is great with other dogs and wants to please people. Sadie is very good on leash and does the cutest little prance when she walks. She is starting to play with toys and takes her favorites and stores them in her crate. She seems like she will be a very easy first or 4th greyhound that will be good in just about any situation and has been the perfect foster according to her foster home. Besides having a great personality she is just adorable. Update: Sadie went on her first hike and LOVED it. We also discovered that she likes water and took photos of her cooling off in the lake.

Ferrall is a small red male that raced at 67lbs. He raced for a long time and was very good. It is unusual to get one that is still racing at 5 years old most slow down and retire long before that. HIs birthday was Jan 2nd. Ferrall has the cutest ears. One stands straight up and the other flops down. Ferrall tested small dog tolerant at the track and is living with a cat in his foster home. Ferral is an outgoing but calm laid back guy that will stand next to you and soak of as much love as he can get. He is a perfect gentleman that walks beautifully on leash. His first time in a house he walked in and layed down on the first dog bed he found. Definitely a couch potato! Ferrall seems like a great guy that will calmly make the transition to just about any home and seems like he would be perfect for a first time greyhound adopter that wants a calm loving guy.

Blip is a calm, sweet black girl that raced at 66lbs. She will turn 4 on June 5th. She tested cat and small dog tolerant at the track and is living in a foster home with both. Blip is polite and unassuming. She enjoys interacting with people and getting petted but isn't pushy for affection and will just quietly stand next to you waiting for you to notice and pet her. She seems to like being close to people and follows her foster mom around. Blip likes toys and will play with them some but she is a pretty low energy girl that often chooses not to run around with the other dogs and just stands next to her foster mom. Her foster mom believes she would be an easy first greyhound since she is pretty low key. She can be just a little timid of loud noises and in new situations. She is quiet in her crate when other dogs are in the room with her but she does make some noise in the crate if alone so may not be the best dog for apartment living unless there are other dogs in the family.

Lenny is a lighter brindle male with few brindle stripes. Lenny passed his cat and small dog test so should be fine living with either. He is an outgoing guy that is happy, pretty calm and well mannered.. He seems pretty confident and doesn't seem to get nervous easily. He loves to play with toys and carries them and puts them in a pile where he can find them later. He turned 3 on May 6th and raced at 61lbs so is a very small guy. He hasn't been around children yet but since he isn't a nervous dog that would be scared of them or overly active bouncing dog that would knock a small child down we think he would probably be fine with them. He gets along very well with other dogs and even let a kitten play on his legs without any reaction. He loves water and hopes his new family will buy him a baby pool of his own to play in.

Since Croc is very young, he is still a happy bouncy guy. He walks pretty good on leash but sometimes still jumps up to give hugs. We are working on that. He is very curious about everything new in his retired life. So far he has not really been a marker so that should make potty training pretty easy. His sire is NMS Sweet Thing and his dam is Bow Blueberry. He only raced 12 races at JCKC in Florida and was pretty fast. The problem was that he would play with the dogs he was racing against which is called interfering and is strickly against the rules. After interfering in a couple of races he was not allowed to race anymore and forced into retirement.

She has a few orange freckles in her fur on her back but black freckles on her one white ear. Very unusual and striking! Very sweet girl too. Allie raced for a long time. Allie turned five Feb 17th. She adjusted perfectly to foster care and is very well behaved and quiet and has done very well on potty training and only had a few accidents. She has already figured out what dog beds are for and loves laying on hers upside down with all 4 feet in the air. She is being fostered with children and is fantastic with them. Her foster mom is hoping Allie will go to a home with children because she is so good with them. Allie has a pretty high prey drive and didn't pass her test with the cat. She passed her initial small dog test though so should be able to live with them with a careful introduction.

Jake is another economic return. He and 4 other greyhounds were rehomed because their family moved and could not take them along. Jake was a very successful racer and retired about 2 years ago. He is already home acclimated because of his time in a home as a pet and has wonderful house manners. He was not returned because of any behavior problems and is quite the gentleman. Jake is an unusual very light fawn color and is a large, gentle guy. Jake was fond of a 9 month old grandchild in his previous home and is in a foster home with children. He seems to enjoy having kids around. He also has lived with cats and small dogs before so would do great in a home with either. Jake is a friendly, happy, loving guy that gets along well with other dogs. He is pretty laid back lower energy guy so would be great for a busy home that didn't have a lot of time or energy to exercise a dog. Jake travels well and enjoys going for a ride. He is already a great pet with lots of love to give and will be an easy addition to some lucky home.

Apache is a 75lb mostly white male. All around one of his eyes the hair is white even the eyelashes. The pigment is pink around the eye even though the eye itself is dark. That is how he got the "whiteeye" part of his name. His other eye has a dark patch beside it and has dark pigment all the way around. Makes him a very striking, unusual looking guy. He is a calm, friendly guy that seems like he will not be phased by much. He will probably be a great pet and an easy greyhound. He is missing one of his toes which is not unusual and won't effect his ability to run and play. Apache was born on July 21st 2006 so is almost 5. Foster Update! Apache is doing wonderfully! He is calm, quiet, friendly, and moves into every situation with good energy. He loves to meet new people and has interacted with every new dog he's met with completely appropriate body language and responses. He hasn't made a sound in his crate since the first night he arrived in foster care. Apache even potties on leash! He is a really nice, even-mannered greyhound that will fit into almost any setting. He would make an excellent first greyhound or addition to an existing pack. The foster family tells us he's the nicest guest to join them home in a very long time.

Sweetie is a sweetheart. She is a little timid but warms up very quickly. She is a snuggler and is always ready to give hugs and nuzzles. She loves her greyhound brother, Bo, that she has been with for about 4 years. Sweetie and her brother Bo were returned due to some allergy issues in the family. She lived with children for years so should be excellent in a home with kids. She has been living with a small Jack Russell in her foster home so could also live in a home with small dogs.

Sweetie is very bonded to Bo and we would love to keep them together. Special accomodations will be made to the adoption fee for the family with a heart large enough to hold these two.

Update: Sweetie is in a new foster home to see how she will do away from her former housemate Bo. She is doing fantastic so we would consider adopting them separately.

JD is a cute little guy that retired before he really got started at the track. He is young and turned two in January. He is sweet and not really shy but isn't the most confident guy so might need a little time to warm up. He is very good in his crate and retreats to the crate when he is nervous or wants to rest. He is very quiet so might be a good choice for an apartment or townhouse. He travels very well. JD is definitely safe with cats and small dogs and has been bullied by a cat in his foster home. Poor JD hides from the cat and that mean ol cat always finds him and picks on him.

Update from JD's foster mom: JD is a really sweet, laid back, undemanding boy. He loves to get loving but definitely needs a few minutes to come around. He is cautious - I guess that is a good way to describe him. He is a submissive boy and we have had no problems with him in the house. He enjoys the crate & this is where we find him when the living room gets a little too busy for him. He really is a super easy foster boy. He is gorgeous with the dark eyeliner around his eyes.

Bounce is a very tiny boy at just 61lbs. He is also very young and celebrated his 2nd birthday on May 8th. So far Bounce has been very timid and unsure of himself. His trainer says he was very shy when he arrived at the track but did warm up and became a fun boy that was friendly and sweet and liked to play. He tested very cat safe and small dog safe at the track with no interest in chasing either. He didn't have much of a chase drive at all at the track which is why he retired before his racing career really even got started.

Update from his foster home: Bounce is gradually getting over his shyness. He now approaches people for petting without dropping his head or getting down on his belly. He still is not playing with toys but will take treats out of a person's hand and gets excited when his foster family comes home. He is very calm and enjoys laying in the grass in the yard. He is interacting more with the dogs in his foster home now - not really playing with them but he will run with them. He was very respectful with a senior dog in his foster home so may be a good dog for a family with an older dog that is wanting a younger one. He seems to be most bonded to people so would probably be fine as an only dog too.

He still looks a little rough because he arrived with lots of fleas which caused hair loss and a skin infection. They have been successfully treated but he needs some time for his hair to come back in. In a month or two Romeo will have a beautiful glossy black coat. So far he is doing great in his foster home and gets along well with all family members human and greyhound. He has picked up on house rules very quickly. Romeo has a very high prey drive so is not going to be able to live with cats or small dogs. He mistakes anything small for a squirrel or a bunny and wants to chase it. Rosey just arrived and is a small female that raced at just 56lbs. Her birthday is July 26th 2008. Info from her trainer: Rosey is a sweet girl that is a little shy at first but warms up. Rosey passed her cat and small dog test at the track so should be OK to live with either. So far she has been pretty unsure but will cautiously come up to people and lean on them for comfort rather than running away. She seems like a very sweet girl that will be quick to warm up. Her foster dad says she follows him around all the time and loves to stand touching him if possible. She has been great with his other dogs and is settling in to his home as if she belongs there.

Kid is a gentle giant and was a kennel favorite because of his sweet, gentle, friendly personality. He loves people and will lean on you. He has a very low prey drive and passed his cat and small dog tolerance tests with no interest in chasing at all. He is such a well behaved boy that he was picked as the best one in the kennel for a first time foster home. He is one handsome big guy too! More as we get to know Kid.

Ethan is a small male at only 66lbs. Ethan has been in a home and has great house manners. He was just returned to us to be rehomed because of a weight restriction change at the apartment he had been living in. Since he was over 50lbs he had to go. He was not rehomed due to any behavior problem and doesn't seem to have any. He is a quiet guy that has lived in an apartment so would be perfect for an apartment or townhouse. Ethan likes his crate and often chooses to sleep there with the door open. A few greyhounds are smilers and this is definitely one of them. Ethan will grin up at you if he is happy and will grin even more if he thinks he might be in trouble. His foster family says he is a sweet, friendly, loving boy that couldn't be any nicer. This is a well behaved, easy guy that would be perfect for a first or 4th greyhound. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and likes children. This is one super guy! And SO cute!!

Zena has been returned to our group by her owners. They love her very much, and would love to keep her but have some very serious medical problems that make them unable to care for Zena. They say she is absolutely the most wonderful dog and they are only returning her because of their bad health. Zena small girl that raced at just 57lbs. She is a sweet, friendly girl that gives kisses and loves people and wants to please. She also loves toys. She really enjoys playing with her nylabone and kong. If someone is looking for a dog who likes to show off this is the dog for them! She loves to learn new things and doesn't even need treats to learn, she's all about the praise. She has learned to sit still to get out of her crate, sit and wait for her foster family to walk out a door first, lay down, come when called and wait for food/treats. At one point her foster mom was teaching Zena to "dance" but decided to stop rather than encourage her to jump in the air. Zena is also a great leash walker. Even though she has a bouncy personality she walks calmly right by your side and wears out after half a mile so her exercise requirement is very minimal. She has done great with the cats and small dogs in her foster homes and is even tolerant with a puppy in her current foster home. She adapts quickly and made herself at home right away in her foster home. After politely greeting the other dogs and checking out the house she found a dog bed and flipped over on her back with her legs in the air for a nap. This is a fun girl that has already been home acclimated and is going to be a great pet. Zena will be 5 on Christmas Day!

Mercy is a white female that has black ticking (freckles or dalmation spots). She just turned four April 23 and raced at 60lbs. Mercy is a fun, playful, energetic girl. She was fine with a medium sized dog that she was tested with at the track but was marginal with the cats in her cat test - not horrible but not great either so they think she may not be safe with them. We will do more testing after she is vetted to see how she is with smaller dogs and may redo her cat test to see if how well she responds to training with the cats.

She traveled well and was quiet in her crate all night. She has done well with the small dog in her foster home so seems like she will be OK in a home with small dogs. She is much to interested in chasing cats to be able to live with cats however. She is already great on leash and doesn't pull at all. She eats well and didn't even skip a meal with the stress of moving from the track to a new home. When you talk to her she wags her tail in happiness. Seems like she is going to be a great girl. Rye is a playful, fun girl like you would expect from a greyhound that is barely more than a pup. She bounces happily to see you and is very friendly and doesn't seem to have any shyness whatsoever. Rye is a little excitable when you first put her leash on but calms down and walks nicely after a minute or two. She is a small girl with the sweetest face and personality. She passed her cat and small dog test so should be fine living with either and was fostered with a small dog. Rye's date of birth is 6/13/09.

Walt Ford Is a littermate to one of our other recently adopted dogs Ron Green. Ron's family is thrilled with how well behaved he is and we are sure it will be the same with Walt's family. Walt has passed his cat test by only sniffing and wagging, even when the cat ran from him, so should be fine living with cats. Walt is a handsome, red brindle male that is described as being well behaved and friendly by his trainer at the track. He is a happy, fun loving type but is pretty laid back so only plays for a short time. He had a very successful racing career and was retired because his trainer and owner feel his 200 plus races are enough. Not many racers continue racing nearly to their 5th birthday like Walt and his brother Ron did. This is a great guy that has run well and made a great living. Now it is time to enjoy the retired life and maybe get a bit spoiled. He has been great in his foster home and has quickly adjusted to home life as if he always lived in a home. Walt is a sweet, friendly, people-oriented guy that is going to be a fantastic loving pet.

Lady is very sweet and was a little shy at first but has really adjusted well to her foster home now. She loves toy time when all the toys are unpacked and everyone scampers for their favorite. Lady romps and plays with the other greyhounds in the backyard. She meets you at the door with tail wagging and smiles. This is a very sweet girl! Lady has lived in a home with children and was great with them. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and cats. Lady has already been home acclimated and has had perfect manners so far in her foster home. She raced 54 races at Palm Beach and Mardi Gras Race Tracks until she was bumped by another dog and broke her leg. She kept going in that race and managed to come in 5th somehow. That ended her career as a racer, but she went on to be a brood mom and produced 6 pups that were born in 2007. Although Lady walks and runs fine, sometimes when standing she holds up the leg she broke, so may have some arthritis in it. Lady has had a string of bad luck and ended up being picked up as a stray at one point and lived in a backyard and wasn't allowed in the house at another home. Although her behavior seems to be excellent; sadly, she has been in and out of several homes and is now looking for another family to love at 8 years old. We are hoping her run of bad luck will change and this home will be the forever home she has been dreaming of. Since Lady has has been very quiet and well behaved we think she might do OK in an apartment. What a precious face! Ladies sire is the famous Craigie Whistler and her dam is JJ's Rebel Cause.

Tic Tac just arrived and seemed like she was a tiny bit shy at first but a few days after her spay she really blossomed. She is a silly, happy girl that is really a charmer. She is a tiny girl at just 55lbs and couldn't be any cuter. Her whole litter is named for candy. The IU at the end of her name means "in utero" and means that her mom was imported while she was pregnant with the pups. Tic Tac was born in the US but was actually bred in Ireland. We have only gotten one or two other dogs with the same letters after her name so that is something extra special about little Tic Tac! We also placed her mom, who is an excellent pet. Good genes run in the family. She is a half sister to Deacon and Hoffa who arrived in the same load. Tic Tac has been doing great with the cats in her foster home so she should be fine with them in an adoptive home. Tic Tac raced only 3 races at Sanford Orlando track. Her sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and her dam is Hanks Cool Cat*.

Lolita is a pretty little 62lb light fawn girl. This is a littermate to one of our prior placements named Dim Sum and has the same mother as Blondie, Annie and Katie who we placed that have become wonderful pets. She comes from a breeder that hand raises only one litter of racing greyhound pups a year. Most of their dogs are very social and very people oriented. Her racing owner says she is the most loveable, snuggler that he has ever had and is his favorite greyhound of all the ones he has raised. He had a hard time letting her go but already has quite a few greyhound pets in his home so really can't keep another. She has been living with little dogs at his farm and gets along well with them. He says she doesn't pay any attention to the barn cats either so should be fine with either. So far she has been a little overwhelmed with the big move and has been very quiet and subdued and seems like she may be a little shy initially until she gets comfortable in a new situation. Her owner assures us that as soon as she warms up that she will be an incredibly devoted pet. Lolita is the cutest thing with these big doe eyes and stand up ears. She just stares up at you looking for cues on what to do next. When we weighed her at the vets she stood on the scale and didn't move once she was placed there. When we put her in her crate on the hauler she jumped right in but had to be given permission and encouragement to come back out when it was time. She seems like she will be a real easy dog that is going to look to her owner for all her cues and will want to please. She retired and has been living on a farm with her racing owner for awhile and hasn't been in a crate for awhile. She has been a little vocal about her dislike of the crate so may not be the best apartment dog unless she improves.

Bailey is the littermate to Manny (Aeros Darkman) and several other dogs we have placed recently. He was the best racer of the litter so was the last to retire.  A minor muscle injury forced his retirement from racing recently. This is very minor and will not cause any permanent problem for Bailey and if he had been a better racer they may have rehabbed him and had him continue racing after he healed. His trainer describes him as a real lovable guy. When he comes in from his turn outs every day he always goes up to his trainer for a pet and a kiss before going on to his crate. His trainer thinks Bailey will make a better pet than racer. Bailey was raised by breeders that hand raise only one litter of racing greyhounds a year. He has been well socialized and already knows what it is like to be a pet and clearly loves people. He passed his cat and small dog test at the track so should be OK to live with either. His foster home has both and will do further testing.

Littermates Walt Ford and Ron Green just arrived! Ron is a friendly people oriented guy that gives kisses and seems like he has been trained to give gentle hugs too. He seems to want to get as close to his people as possible wanting his head in your lap when standing next to you or even trying to get up in your lap on the couch. Good thing he is a smaller guy. Ron also passed his initial cat test by only sniffing and wagging, even when the cat ran from him so appears to be exceptionally cat tolerant like his brother Walt. Ron is described as being the most laid back of the two brothers and is a beautiful red boy. His trainer and owner says that he has never caused any trouble and is a real good boy at the kennel. He even recommended him as a good greyhound for a first time foster or adoptive home. Like his brother Walt, Ron was also an exceptional racer and was only retired because he was getting close to his 5th birthday and had a lot of races under his belt. His owner thinks it is time for him to retire and be a pet. This guy is going to take his retirement very seriously.

Sissy is a mid sized 60lb, beautiful, red girl that just turned 4 in January. She is just as happy and sweet as she looks in her picture. Sissy is described as a very snuggly girl that enjoys snuggling with other dogs and people every chance she gets. She is the type of dog that will be up on the couch with you watching TV with her head in your lap. She has good kitchen manners so far - no counter surfing or begging. Sissy is a lower energy girl so should be an easy dog that won't require a lot of exercise - perfect for a busy family! She has had no accidents at all in the house during her potty training and is a clear communicator that will let you know when she needs you to put her outside. She crates well but does whine a bit sometimes in her crate so may not be the best dog for a condo or apartment. Although Sissy is a laid back girl she still loves to play with toys and bounce around in the yard for a little while between naps. Her foster family captured some cute pictures of her playing with toys. Sissy had no trouble learning how to walk on slick floors or learning how to do steps. She has lived with small dogs in her foster home and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. She does want to please her people and quickly learned that the cats in her foster home were off limits. Smart and such a cutie! We just love that one floppy ear! Her Pedigree

Manny is a beautiful, rich, dark brindle boy that is on the small side for a male. He is sweet and quiet and shadows his foster dad everywhere he goes. He is going to be a very devoted dog for some lucky family. Manny was the more confident boy in the litter but doesn't seem to be a pushy guy and is very respectful of people and well behaved. Manny lost the end of his tail in an accident so has only half a tail, but he just thinks that and his stand up ears make him even more unusual and handsome. Manny is a sweet, loving boy that has settled into home life very well and has done great on his potty training and kennels well. Blarney was called Scrappy at his racing kennel at Derby Lane. He raced 131 races there and was good getting up to the top A level. He was retired in August of 2009 and was initially sent to another group that is shutting down now. After having him in foster care for awhile they ask us for help fostering and placing him. Blarney is becoming a favorite of our foster home and is just an all around great guy. He has gotten along well with all the other dogs in his foster home. He loves toys and joyfully throws them around to play. He would probably be happiest in a home with slightly older children only because he sometimes jumps in surprise when touched from behind. This will probably go away as he becomes more comfortable in a new home. He is very gentle though and doesn't snap or growl even when surprised. Blarney has responded well to the cat in his foster home and completely ignores it now so should be fine living with cats or small dogs. His foster mom describes him as so sweet that families won't be able to help falling in love with him! And look at all that dark eyeliner on those expressive eyes! He can complain loudly in his crate so probably wouldn't be the best dog for apartment living. This is a sweet boy that will steal your heart.

Ruby is a beautiful girl who's starting over looking for her new home because her family is having a baby. They think she may be too playful and is likely to knock a toddler down. Ruby loves older kids though and is playful and would be a fun dog for a family with kids big enough to play with a dog. She is a wonderful dog that has been a loving family companion. She is healthy and completely up to date on her vetting and will be moving to her new home with some of her essentials as a gift to help her transition. Ruby has displayed varying responses to the cats she has been around in the family home. She will chase them, but will stop when they turn and face her. She might do OK with a family with cats that are confident around dogs and a family who is willing and able to set rules. Ruby's family describes her as a wonderful, people-oriented dog that should settle in happily with almost anyone. Lets get this beautiful girl home for the new year!

Clyde is a laid back, friendly guy. He has quickly adjusted to home life. Clyde is smart and learned how to use a doggy door the first day. He has picked up on potty training automatically too. He travels very well and seems to enjoy it. Clyde has been great with his foster family's cat. Although Clyde is very friendly and loves attention he would do best in a smaller, quiet family. He was with a very large family with lots of children for a short time and didn't seem comfortable with the constant activity and would choose to stay in his crate. That is one of the reasons we think he would do better in a family with older, more quiet kids or no kids. Not much phases this guy otherwise. He is a happy go lucky guy that checks in frequently with his family and seems to want to please. He loves to go for walks and is very good on leash and potties quickly on leash when taken outside on leash so doesn't require a fenced yard. He is a more submissive guy temperment wise so seems like he could get along well with other dogs.

This is a great guy that has quite the history of winning races including more than one Stakes Race. Wish he could give us his autograph. Pat is a very outgoing loving guy. He loves to put his head on you and just stare up into your eyes. He will rub his head on you every chance he gets. He is a great guy that was so well behaved when he arrived it was as if he had already lived in a home. He loves children and shows no prey drive toward cats or small dogs so should be able to live with either. This a great guy that is confident without being pushy and is so so sweet! You can tell that he is used to being admired and treated like the elite racer that he is. He just LOVES people but seems to get along with other dogs just fine too. Mo is an economy return we've been asked to be given a second chance at a new family because of the loss of a job. He is not being returned because of any behavior problem. Mo likes: rides in the car, walks long or short, a good belly rub, treats, human companionship and a nice cuddle in bed (to his disappointment NOT allowed at his foster home). Mo dislikes: cats and being crated. Mo is great with children and tends to be a ma ma's boy. He came from a household with 3 dogs so should be able to get along great in a home with existing dogs. He is playful, but respectful with his 3 new foster sisters and brother. He has adapted quickly to a new routine and house rules. A smart boy. Mo surprised everyone at the fun run. This quiet lay-back boy can really still run. He held his own at the front of the pack. What a beautiful sight! Sleeping or running Mo is the Magic Man"."

Jeserell is a bouncy, happy little girl. Her tail wags furiously if she even thinks you are paying attention to her or looking her direction, in fact she wags her whole body. She is very friendly, loves people and gives plenty of kisses. She passed her cat and small dog test so should be able to live with either. She is very food motivated and will eat well in or out of her crate. She loves her crate and will often choose to lay in there with the door open. She loves toys and will collect them all in her crate. She never has torn up a toy though, just carries them around. She follows her foster mom around the house curiously but not in a too needy way that could be annoying. She is a pretty confident girl that is likely to be the more dominant female in a pack of dogs. Jezerell is such a love bug that you just have to love her back. Jeserell is a littermate to ThatsWhyURThere who is one of our other recent adoptions. She is a half sister to Jet, Drama, and Cracker Barrel many of our other already adopted hounds. Her father seems to throw some exceptionally nice dogs.

Giggles is a very large muscular girl that looks more like an Arnold than a Giggles. Her sire is the famous Trent Lee and her dam is Racers Roulette. DOB 4/11/08. She raced 13 races at Dubuque and then Birmingham. She has a gorgeous, very black, shiny coat and white feet and tip of tail. Giggles is very friendly, happy and loves people. Her tail wags like crazy and she even grins happily sometimes. She play bows and gets silly trying to get people to play with her. She was so busy trying to get her foster mom to play with her that she ignored two greyhound puppies that were running, barking and playing around her. Funny how dogs can be more devoted to people than their own kind. She has shown no interest in chasing a small dog in her foster home. She showed some initial interest about the cat but it seemed to be just curiosity. We think she will probably be Ok with cats with a little more exposure to them. Giggles traveled well on her trip from the track to her foster home and on her trips back and forth to the vet. Giggles loves playing with toys and rope toys are her favorites. She seems like she would be a very good running partner for short distances - greyhounds are sprinters so cant run for long. She runs along side her foster mom in the fenced yard in nearly a perfect heel position with no leash at all. Giggles seems drawn to children so should be excellent in a home wth kids. This is a gorgeous girl with a great personality. She tends to have a submissive personality so should be fine living with more dominant dogs. This is a fun girl that is happy in just about any situation. She doesn't seem to be worried about anything and everyone she meets makes her wiggle with happiness.
