Rainy has been in home for 2 years but their lifestyle recently changed and they really don't have time for her anymore so returned her. Rainy originally came from the Orlando track. She is a sweet, friendly girl that is  a very happy, confident, and loving. Her tail is happily wagging most of the time. Her birthday is 5/20/09 so she is almost 5. She raced at 60lbs. She passed her cat and small dog tests and has been babysat and fostered with very small dogs and has lived in a home with a cat. Rainy is a Tony's Oracle pup and a full littermate to a wonderful boy that we placed already.  She is such a sweet girl and is so happy to see you when you come home, she wags her tail and her entire body. She is a smart girl that likes toys and loved running and playing in her big backyard with her lab housemate. She loves kids but we have her marked older children only because she has growled about her space some when sleeping. She needs to be placed with kids old enough to understand that all dogs need to be left alone when sleeping. She is doing great with the other dogs in her foster home, small and large.

Fluffy is a small red female that raced 169 races. She raced most recently at Orange Park in Jacksonville Florida but also raced at Naples/Ft Myers, Mardi Gras in Florida and Dubuque in IA. She was pretty good and got up to the A level of racing. Fluffy's sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Worst To First. She will turn 5 on Nov 29th. Fluffy is a very friendly happy girl that gives kisses and rolls over for belly rubs. She is all about attention and will stand next to you calmly to be petted as long as you keep petting her. She has also crawled up into her foster mom's lap a time or two. Good thing she is a tiny 57lb girl! She walks great on leash and passed her cat and small dog tests without showing any prey drive toward either. She has been fine with the small dogs in her foster home but has been grumpy with the other greyhounds male and female in her foster home so we think she would prefer to just be in a home with no other dogs where she can get all the attention. She has never shown any grumpiness with people. Just the opposite. Very submissive and very loving with people.

Barts Fearsome is a brindle female that just retired from the Sanford Orlando track after 205 races. Fearsome is anythig but Fearsome. She is actually friendly and happy. She raced in Orlando, Sarasota, and Melbourne. She was a good racer competing at the top level for many of those races and winning a lot. She is very focused on racing but not so much on cats. During her cat test they couldn't get her to pay any attention or focus on the cat. She was too busy checking everything else out. We may need to test her again to be sure but that is a pretty good sign and means she will most likely be able to live with cats and small dogs and has no interest in chasing them. Her sire is Voyage Seeker and her dam is B's Optimistic. She raced at 60lbs and will turn 5 on June 30th. More as we get to know her.

Wade just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Fl. He is a happy waggy boy that was picked for one of our foster homes in a townhouse because he crates quietly. He is a smaller guy racing at 68lbs, very short but stocky and looks like a little body builder. He just turned 3 on February 27th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is Pam Ford. He raced 53 races mostly at Orange Park but also a few at Derby Lane. Wade passed his cat test at the track so should be fine to live in a home with cats or small dogs. He pulls a little on leash but his foster home takes her dogs on plenty of walks and he is doing much better after just the first day.

Dewey was returned to us because his family couldn't take care of him anymore. He just turned 10 on Jan 23rd. His sire is Grenade and his Dam is Pin Oak Shasta. He raced at 76lbs so is a mid sized male. He has done great with the cats he has met so should be fine in a home with cats or small dogs. Dewey is very friendly and will stand with his head in your lap for love just about as long as you will pet him. Being an older guy he is calm and already knows house manners so would be an easy addition for any family. Because of Dewey's age his adoption fee is reduced to only $200.

Bunny is a young 7 month old puppy that broke one of her legs while playing with her littermates. Her owners asked us to take her after surgery to plate the leg. She came through surgery fine and was transported to our group. She is healing well and is expected to make a full recovery. Bunny's sire is Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is TDS Molly. We don't typically get very many greyhound puppies so this is a rare chance to get one. They are much different than the calm retired racers. Like any puppy they need supervision, training and plenty of exercise. As soon as she is healed and well enough to run around again she will need a fenced yard to play in. Bunny enjoys playing with a small dog in her foster home and loves children so should do well in a home with either.

She has 105 races to her credit and started out racing at Tri State Race Track in WV. Tory did not pass her cat test at the track and has mistaken small dogs for squirrels so needs a home with no cats or tiny dogs. She is a happy, waggy, friendly girl that likes people and loves children, we have her listed as older children only just because she gets pretty excited and runs around when she first comes out of her crate and might knock a toddler over accidentally. Her sire is Farloe Black* and her dam is RCK Sunshine. Tory seems like she might be a good apartment dog. She crates quietly and only makes some noise when you first come home. Excited to see you. She potties well on leash. Tory is also the rare greyhound that likes to play fetch and will keep bringing the ball back to you. She is a happy, bouncy girl that is going to be a really fun family dog.

Hood is a pure white male that only has a few speckles on his ears. Hood had a minor injury to his front ankle so he was retired before he even had one official race. He doesn't even limp now most of the time so is nearly well already. Hood just arrived from the Orange Park kennel in Florida. He is very young and won't even turn two until June 25th. Hood's sire is Leftem In A Haze and his dam is Ultimate Cupcake. He doesn't have a racing weight be we guess him to be around 75lbs. Hood passed his cat test at the track but is a little interested in the cat in his foster home. Because he is still a pup he needs reminders not to play with the cat. The same thing with very small dogs. Because he is a playful pup, Hood would probably do better with medium sized dogs rather than really tiny dogs. He liked the kids he met at the track. Because he is still so young he was described as silly and playful. He is very friendly and seems like a nice happy guy that is pretty calm for a pup. He has done fantastic on his potty training in his foster home. He is a gorgeous boy that has a cute, sweet personality as well.

Cat is a sweet, red brindle, female that has a beautiful mostly orange coat without a lot of striping. She turned 2 on November 24th. Her sire is EM's Mac Attack and her dam is Flying Lickin. She raced 52 races at 61lbs. Cat raced at Southland in Arkansas, Dubuque, Naples Ft Myers, Sarasota and most recently at Sanford Orlando. She is a friendly, happy little girl. She is friendly and so waggy that she seriously injured her tail by wagging it up against things and it had to be removed. So she has no tail now but she is so cute no one will even notice. She sniffed the cat at the vets and then lost interest so probably will be OK in a home with cats. She is good on leash and has been pretty laid back and quiet so far. While Cat was at the vet clinic she fell in love with Sharky one of the males that is also available and stayed with him all the time. She really liked all the children she has met. We just found out that Cat does the greyhound grin when she gets really happy. Very cute!

Trent's sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Gable Jersey. Trent is very outgoing and friendly. He loves everyone he meets and is very quick to greet new people. He is curious and happy, wagging his tail. Even in his pictures his tail is wagging and is a little blurry. He has a lot of personality and is a fun guy. He doesn't seem to be bothered by new situations and settled right down as soon as he was put in his crate. He traveled well on the trip too. Trent seems like he would be trainable with cats. He wants to please so much he will give up toy on command and is a natural sitter that will sit for treats. He would probably be a good obedience or agility prospect. He loves the kids he met, but was so enthusiastic in his greeting he could easily knock over a toddler so we marked him older kids only. He easily passed his small dog test so should be fine in a home with smaller dogs. Trent is still a pup but his foster mom thinks he is a very smart guy that picks up things quickly.

He did OK with a family with children that met him but didn't really interact much with either the adults or the children because of his shyness. He will just need some time to warm up to new people and new situations. He did pass his cat test because he was even shy with the cat and tried to avoid it and had no interest in chasing cats. Most of our shy dogs we list as older children only just because the fast movements and loud noises that small children make tend to scare the shy ones.

King loves to play with stuffed animals but for the most part he is calm and laid back. He is quiet in his crate so might be a great dog for an apartment or townhouse. King is so well behaved that he would probably be a good choice for a first time dog owner. He has done well at meet and greets and is getting much more outgoing as he is exposed to more people. His foster home says he is a very good boy and he has been a perfect house guest. King has lived in a home for awhile but was returned because he didn't do well being bothered by children when sleeping. She loves to go hiking on the farm with her foster dad and can go as far or farther than the other dogs. She plays and runs and has a great time. Jai will celebrate her 4th birthday on March 14th and she hopes she will celebrate with her new family. Her sire is Kiowa Mon Manny so she is a half sister to Shrimpy. Jai's dam is D's Penny Annie. If you want a dog that will get up on the couch and snuggle with you this is your girl. She is curious about everything and isn't phased by new things - she loves adventure almost as much as she loves meeting new people. This gorgeous girl is a small, black, greyhound puppy that just turned a year old in December. She is came to us straight from the farm where she was raised. Her owners decided pet her out instead of racing her because she was sick as a puppy. After testing they found out that she has Pancreatic Insufficiency which means that her pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes necessary to digest food. All she needed were digestive enzymes added to all her meals and she ended up being fine. Before they figured out what the problem was her growth was effected and she was the runt of her litter. Shrimpy is pretty small at just over 50lbs which is tiny for a greyhound but she is active and healthy and just requires her digestive enzymes with her meals. Her sire is the famous Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Softball Phenom. Shrimpy is very social and has been sweet and friendly to everyone she meets. She went to a Petsmart meet and greet and was friendly with kids and adults. She didn't like kids hugging her or bothering her when she was laying down though so may need a home with older children that can understand not to do those things to her. She lived with cats in a previous home and had a great time playing with a large male Doberman. Because she is still a puppy she will need a home with a fence yard to run around in and won't be suitable for apartment living. She is a social girl that is energetic and fun. She loves people and loves to play.

Maddie is an active senior brood that is ready for whatever adventure you want to offer her! She has the typical brood personality-- confident, sweet, and fearless in a way that says "I've been around long enough and not much is going to bother me". She has so much life in her step that it's hard to believe she's nearly ten! Maddie will give you a big grin when she is happy or excited and bounces and wags happy to see anyone that comes her way. She has a lot of white in her black fur which makes her look almost blue. A very pretty girl with a lot of personality! Her sire is the famous Oshkosh Slammer and her dam is PA's Cherokee. She raced at 57lbs so is a small girl. Maddie raced 68 races at Daytona Beach, Orange Park and the old Jacksonville Circuit. She had a leg injury that ended her racing career and went on to have 2 litters of pups before she officially retired. Maddie had to have most of her teeth pulled but doesn't skip any meals because of it and can eat regular kibble. She passed her cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. She complains some about being in her kennel so may not be the best apartment dog.

Duncan just retired due to a broken leg. He had surgery in West Virginia and had some pins put in his leg before we picked him up. He has 70 races listed at Southland in Arkansas and Derby Lane in Florida so had just arrived in WV when he had the injury. He has had surgery and is expected to make a good recovery. His leg looks fantastic already and he should end up with full use of it. Duncan may be released for adoption by the end of February. For now he has to be leash walked until he is healed which is why he is on a veterinary hold. So far Duncan has adjusted well and is a happy, friendly boy. He travels well and has been fine with the cats and small dogs at his foster home. Duncan is a small boy with his racing weight listed at 69lbs but so far he has stayed at about 66lbs and doesn't put on weight easily. His sire is Fuzzy's Cannon and his dam is Sammy Sleek. He won't celebrate his 4th birthday until April 11th. Duncan has been a fun playful boy that has a good appetite and hasn't missed a meal even with all the traveling and surgery. He may not be the best dog for apartment living because he does complain some about being left alone in a crate. He loves toys. Even though he is great about having his broken leg splinted and checked, he can be a bit of a drama queen yelping loudly when he laid on a tiny piece of plastic on a dog bed, for instance.

Mo is an extra large male that raced 84lbs. He is very tall and is one of the tallest dogs we have adopted out. He is a gorgeous bright red boy with a white blaze and white feet and chest. Mo hides his age very well and doesn't have any white on his face yet to give his age away. He has very long legs and prances when he trots and is still just stunning at 9 years old. Mo has been in an adoptive home for 6 years and is looking for a new home only because of some financial trouble his family had. Mo was a good racer when he raced and got up to A level at Southland in Arkansas. He raced 78 races. We also adopted out his sire Hey Zohar and his dam Lofty Girl and many of his littermates. Mo loves to play and be silly for a short time but is mostly a couch potato. He is excellent on leash and loves to go for walks. He loves to get up on the couch or on the bed to snuggle with his people. He is very outgoing and isn't bothered by much. On New Years he slept though the fireworks, totally unconcerned. He loves people and will follow you around. He is a more dominant, confident boy so would probably do best in a home with females or other males that aren't real dominant. This is a sweet, loving guy that has been one of his foster home's favorite fosters ever. He shows no prey drive towards cats or small dogs and has lived with them in his previous home. He also lived with a toddler in his previous home.

Casper did not pass his cat test so needs a home without cats but he did OK with a small dog that he was in his foster home with. He likes kids and loves to run so would do well with a large fenced yard. Casper's sire is Iruska All Star and his Dam is Flying Auria.

Cowboy is a 69lb white boy with black brindle spots. He initially came to us from the Melbourne track adoption kennel. He retired really young and had no official races listed. He turned 3 on March 19th. Cowboy's sire is Krypto Drive and his dam is Flat Out Ulna. He passed his cat and small dog tests at the track and has lived with both and has actually been afraid of cats. Cowboy was a little timid when he arrived and was pretty overwhelmed, but he has been in a home for since Feb of 2015 so should be home acclimated by now. Cowboy's name was changed to Calloway by his adopter. Now Calloway is being returned to us for rehoming because he went after an outdoor cat. We warn all adopters to NEVER have any greyhound outside with a free roaming cat, no matter how safe the dog is with cats inside. Even if the greyhound has been good with an outside cat before, there is the chance that they can mistake it for a squirrel or a rabbit if it is in bushes. Prey drive is also much stronger outdoors. Calloway will be retested with indoor cats after we get him but we expect him to be fine with them as he always has been. This was a mistake most greyhounds would have made.

He retired from the Sanford Orlando track and has 53 races to his credit. Jawa passed his cat and small dog test by running toward them, passing them with no interest, and putting his nose in the cat food bowl right beyond them. We tried to get his attention back on the cat but he was way too interested in the food to pay any attention to small furry creatures. He is a food motivated guy. Jawa is a happy waggy guy that is very friendly to everyone he meets. Jawa lived with cats in his foster home. He has snapped when laying down so even though he likes kids we think he would do better in a home with no children because of his space issues. Harry has been in a home so is already home acclimated.

She just retired from the Sanford Orlando track after running 5 races and not doing well in any of them. She rode well on the trip up from the track. Seemed a little timid at first but seemed like she would warm up pretty fast. Although she passed her initial cat test she has since shown interest in chasing the cats in her foster home so probably should not live with cats. She has done fine with the small dog in her foster home though. She is very quiet in her crate and potties well on leash so may be a good choice for apartment or townhouse living. This beauty seems like a calm girl for one that is so young.

This is the sweetest, tiny, black girl that raced at just 56lbs. Hope was born Sept. 1, 2008 so is 5 years old. Hope is outgoing and friendly and loves people and was a kennel favorite at the track because of her great personality. She has been in an adoptive home since 2011 but her owner just passed away so she is looking for a new home. She crates quietly and is very well behaved so might be a good girl for apartment or townhouse living. She seems like a confident girl that is very outgoing and not afriad of much. When men were cutting trees next door to her foster home, instead of being afraid of the strangers and all the noise, she ran over to the fence wagging like crazy trying her best to get their attention. This girl is a real sweetheart that loves everyone she meets. She passed her cat test and has been living with two small puppies and birds in her former home. Update: One of the family members of her owner decided to adopt Hope. They know her and love her and think this is what her owner would have wanted.

Altamonte Al had a very successful racing career and was quite a big star at the track. Quite a few people came to tell him goodbye when he retired. He raced at a pretty thin 74lbs and looks better closer to 80lbs. Al has been in an adoptive home since April but they ended up having to move out of the country and aren't able to take him with them so decided to rehome him. He is already home acclimated! Al's date of birth is 11/12/08 so he just celebrated his 5th birthday. He is a happy, goofy guy that has personality to spare. So much so that he was a favorite with everyone he met at the track from lead outs to bettors. HIs trainers and the track personel had a hard time letting him go because they were so attached to Al and consider him a pet. His picture is up on the wall at the track.

Al is quite the snuggler and even though he is a big guy he is likely to want to get in your lap. He loves to get up and lay beside you or even in your lap while watching TV. Al loves toys and will throw them up and play with them himself and loves to chase them when they are thrown for him. He loves to go for walks and potties well on leash. Al was living in a townhouse in his previous home and did fine without a fenced yard. He is a higher energy greyhound and loves to play so might do better with a fenced yard to run around in, unless his family was willing to do walks or jogs with him so that he got enough exercise. He has too high of a prey drive to live with cats. He loves other greyhounds though and larger calmer dogs but just doesn't care for smaller dogs of other breeds that bounce around him and get in his face. His sire is Tony's Oracle which makes him a relative of quite a few other dogs we have placed. Al is the whole package. Just stunning to look at, loving and already home acclimated.

He was the kennel favorite for the past year and is very comfortable with all the children belonging to their family making him an excellent choice for owners with little ones. He will be vetted and cat tested this week and is ready for that forever home! His sire is the famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Okie Reba. He raced 110 races at Orange Park in Jacksonville Fl. He should be fine to live in homes with cats, small dogs, and even birds. Although he has lived outside for awhile, he is used to being in a home and settled happily on a dog bed or couch. He even knows how to use a doggy door. Rambo is a smaller guy weighing only 69lbs. He travels well and doesn't seem to stress out over anything. Diesel turned two on July 22nd and his sire is Tyrur Alex and his dam is Git N Dizzy. He had a very short racing career of just 4 races at Southland in Arkansas. We think he will be wonderful with older kids because of his happy, playful personality. We think he will do better with kids above toddler age though, because he is so playful and might bump into them while being silly. He did great on his test with small dogs and still needs tested with cats. If he is adopted in the Charlotte, NC area his racing owner and current foster home offers free dog sitting for him!! This is a fun boy that will bring a lot of fun and silliness to some lucky family. He is a good boy that his foster family really loves. Caleb is a return that came in after living in an adoptive home for about 2 years. He was originally adopted from an adoption group up North. Their family had to return them to us because one of their family members was allergic to them. Caleb is a gorgeous light fawn with black stripes. He raced at 71lbs so is a mid sized guy. He just turned 6 on October 4th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his Dam is Craigie Maxi. He is friendly, sweet and already home acclimated. He is used to being around the children in his previous home so should be great for a home with kids. He does great at meet and greets, greeting everyone happily. He will give kisses and loves to be petted and loved on. We initially thought he had too high a prey drive to live with smaller dogs because he would bark excitedly at other breeds of dogs so we never let him approach them. We finally actually let him sniff some small chi mix dogs and he was fine after the initial sniff and lost interest. Now we think he just had no idea they were dogs. He will still need an introduction to strange dogs because he still barks but he seems to be good with other breeds once he gets over his initial excitement and knows they are actually dogs. Caleb has wonderful house manners, crates well and is quiet in his crate and sleeps all night in his crate. He does bark some mainly when he gets excited about seeing other dogs or small critters so may not be a good apartment dog. He does potty on leash well so doesn't require a fenced yard if you are willing to leash walk. This is a sweet guy that has been looking for a home for more than 6 months now.

Most of his races were at the Sanford Orlando Race Track but he also raced for a little while at the Sarasota Race Track. He turned 2 on May 21st. Sire is Fuzzys Cannon, Dam is Greys Redington. Graphite is a tiny boy that is smaller than most of our girls and weighed in at 63lbs at his last vet appointment. Graphite was a little interested in the cats he met at the vet clinic but corrected easily so may be trainable. He's happy, playful, and curious about everything around him in an adorable "puppy" way, but he's not hyper or destructive. He potties well on leash and is quiet in his kennel so may be the perfect dog for apartment living. He was sweet to both greyhounds in his first foster home and never had a single potty accident there. He travels well and likes to go. He can be just a little shy at first when meeting strangers, preferring to approach quietly and gently until he gets to know you but is the type that will warm up fast and be your best friend. Graphite is a sweet little baby of a greyhound who's ready to meet the perfect family.

Perogie was quite the racer, winning top level A races and racing and winning quite a few stakes races too. She raced 62 races at Derby Lane, Dubuque, and finally at Palm Beach. Because she was such an amazing racer she had 4 litters of pups before she officially retired. She was the mother of one of our adopter's pups and she tracked her down and asked if she could foster her. She is a sweet, calm girl whose favorite thing is napping. After raising 20 pups she knows the value of a nap. Perogie was born on March 7th of 2005 and raced at 63lbs. She is being fostered with small dogs and is fine with them.

Elaine is a beautiful brindle girl that just arrived. Her mom stepped on one of her back legs when she was a small pup. Even though it isn't noticable now and doesn't bother her at all or cause any limping, her owners decided not to risk racing her. They gave her to us to pet out instead. She runs and plays and doesn't have any limitations as a pet. She is a sweet, friendy girl that just turned 2 on December 8th. She travels well and likes to go for rides. She is quickly learning leash manners. Her trainer at the track says she is very waggy and happy girl. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is Deco Caraways. So far she has done very well in her foster home with cats and small dogs. As soon as she arrived she climbed up on the couch and made herself comfortable. She likes to snuggle with other dogs and people. She is a very calm girl for one so young and very well behaved. She is being fostered in a townhouse and is normally quiet in her crate.
