Carla just arrived from Larson Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She is a brindle female that raced at 63lbs. She only raced 19 races and never won one of those and only placed a few times. She was retired young and won't turn 2 until October 16th. Carla arrived with her littermate Hurricane Berry. Her sire is Barcelona Boss and her dam is Hurricane Riot. We placed her mom's mom Audacious. Carla travels well and is a natural sitter. Carla is a happy, friendly, waggy girl and so pretty! She was very interested in the cat until it slapped her, then she screamed and ran. She kept squealing for awhile and we checked her for a scratch, but found nothing. She wouldn't get near the cat again. When she had to walk past the cat to get out of the room she started screaming again even though the cat never touched her. She seems like she is very dramatic. We think she would be easily trainable by a cat that would slap her just once. She did fine with the small dog she was fostered with and was very friendly with children. She travels well too. Carla can be pushy about getting what she wants, but her dramatic side means that she corrects pretty easily. Carla is a natural sitter (it is not a comfortable position for most greyhounds) and is very good on leash. |

Day came in from the Daytona Beach Race Track in Florida over a year ago. She is a very tiny, black, girl that only weighs 51lbs! She just turned 3 on December 11th. Her sire is Bonafide Top Dog and her dam is RC Mystic Nugget. She came in with her sister Night and Night has been adopted. Day won her very first race and raced 21 more races. She never won another race, so was retired young. She is a happy, friendly girl that is young and playful. Day was adopted in June of 2017 and is being returned due to a divorce. She has lived with an Italian Greyhound and with a child and is very good with both. She is outgoing, gentle and affectionate. She does great on stairs and can get in and out of the car easily. She has not lived with cats but did pass her cat test with a little initial excitement, then quickly lost interest, so we think she may be trainable with them with close supervision at first. Day was also around the children of her racing trainer ages 5 to 12 before we got her. Day looks like she has been polished her coat is so shiny and her personality is just as shiny and bright. She was good on leash and quiet in her crate when placed initially. She loves attention from her humans. Day potties well on leash so may not need a fenced yard if her family was willing to leash walk her. Whoever meets her is going to fall head over heals for this tiny, bundle of joy. Day is a wonderful sweet, loving girl that is about as perfect as she could be. |

Dreamer never raced, just wasn't interested in it. So she flunked out of training and the final step of her registration process, getting a registered name, wasn't completed. She was tattooed at 3 months and her Left ear is 69464 and Right ear tattoo is 106C. Her sister CTW Sonnys Dream was registered to race. Dreamer was born on Oct 13 of 2016 so she won't even turn 2 for some time. Dreamer was raised on the beautiful CTW farm in Texas, a farm that some of our volunteers have been to. Her sire is CTW Base Camp and her dam is CTW Legalese. Dreamer is a very kissy, snuggly girl once she warms up. She has been pretty overwhelmed with the move from the farm to the track adoption kennel so she could be sent to an adoption group. The first day, fast movements caused her to bolt and she was pretty worried but she was still snuggling with people as soon as she got into her foster home. She has not been cat tested but didn't have enough prey drive to chase a lure so we are pretty sure she will pass that test. She was not interested in a fast moving white dog at all. She was raised around kids at the farm and is in a foster home with small children. |

Berry just arrived from the Larson Kennel at the Orlando Race track. He had just 7 races and didn't place in any of them so he was retired young. He won't turn 2 until October 16th so is still very young. Berry raced at 74lbs so is a mid sized male that is more stocky and muscular than tall. His sister Hurricane Carla is arriving with him from the same kennel. Their sire is Barcelona Boss and their dam is Hurricane Riot. Riot's mother, Audacious, is a dog that we placed. Berry travels well and so far has been pretty quiet in his kennel. He seems like a calmly friendly guy that is perfectly happy exploring the backyard by himself and isn't too needy. He passed his cat test easily with only a casual sniff. He also seemed to like the kids he met and did fine with the small dogs he saw too. |

Rulz just arrived from the Bolton Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced 127 races. Rulz was a good racer starting out his career at the top track in the country, Southland. He won some races there and got up to the A level. He was moved to Orlando in March of 2017 and has been there racing since. He is a rare blue brindle which means he has gray stripes instead of black stripes like most brindles. Rulz will turn 4 on September 6th. His sire is Surf Lorian and his dam is Travel N Time. He is a very calm guy that gets along very well with all the other dogs in the kennel. He is very well behaved and very sweet. We have been waiting on him to retire since we met him. Rulz traveled well and quickly settled himself on a dog bed as soon as he reached his foster home. He is a calmly friendly guy that seeks out attention and love calmly. He gives sweet kisses too. Wood floors and steps don't seem to phase him. He settled into home life right away. Rulz passed his cat test and small dog tests without much interest. He liked the small children he met too. |

Adrienne just arrived. She raced most of her 115 races at the Caliente Race Track in Mexico but she also raced a few races at Derby Lane and Southland. She was a very good racer that raced most of her career at the top A level at Caliente and won often. She didn't do as well after she was moved to the US to race. Adrienne is a stocky girl that looks like a little body builder and weighs 65lbs. Her sire is the famous Trent Lee and her dam is Mega India. Adrienne won't turn 3 until October 6th. She is a very sweet, friendly girl that was picked for one of our families as a dog that would be calm, quiet and well behaved and could live with their cats. She did pass her cat and small dog test and is living with both in her foster home. More as we get to know her. |

Blue just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He also raced at Wheeling and Tri State in WV. He raced 78 races and won some getting up to the top A level for awhile. Blue is a small guy racing at 67lbs. His sire is Go Wild Teddy and his dam is Kelsos Jenna. He just turned 3 on June 13th. Blue did not pass his cat test so needs a home without cats. He still needs tested with small dogs and kids. More as we get to know him. Blue came in specifically for someone and is not available for adoption at this time. |

Knight is a young black male that won't turn 2 until October 1st. We don't have a racing weight on him because he never actually raced. He just didn't show much promise as a racer. We would guess his weight to be around 70lbs. Knight is still losing his furry puppy coat and you can see the shiny adult coat underneath. He was raised on a farm in Texas. His sire is the famous Trent Lee and his dam is CTW Leona Brown. Knight is very outgoing, his goal in life is to give kisses to as many people as possible. He is still a silly pup and is very sweet. He passed his cat and small dog tests and there are kids on the farm he was raised on so he is used to being around them too. More as we get to know him. |

Escapade had a long racing career of a 105 races (since each race is about 30 seconds that is just over 50 minutes of total actual racing time). She started out at Abilene KS, then went to Daytona Beach where she quickly went up to the top A level and won 25 races and even won 6 races in a row! Then she was moved to a tougher track with more competition in Wheeling WV. She did well there and even got up to the top AA level there but she wasn't able to win as many races as she had before, so was moved back to Daytona Beach. She retired January 27th of 2015 and went back to the farm to become a mom and hopefully pass on her racing speed and skill. She had two puppies in March of 2016 that have started racing now. Probably another litter or two that just aren't registered yet too. Escapade is a happy, bouncy, girl that has never met a stranger. She is very sweet and loving, travels well and has personality plus. She raced at 60lbs and turned 7 on March 8th. Her sire is Coldwater Konow and her dam is Lil Kaci. Escaped passed her cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either. She has been good with the children she has met and seems to really like them. |

Groomsman just arrived from the Birmingham Race Track. He is very young and won't turn 2 until October 5th. He didn't actually ever have an official race, so either was too slow or just not that interested in chasing during training. Groomsman is an extra large guy that is very tall so that may have made it more difficult for him to run especially in the turns. He is still a skinny pup that needs to fill out some and we would guess a good weight for him would be in the upper 80s to 90lbs. His sire is Kiowa Myth and his dam is Kiowa Bride. He is a grandson of the famous Flying Hydrogen that one of our volunteers owned after retirement. Groomsman is very good on leash and pretty calm and well behaved for such a young guy. He still has the submissive puppy attitude and will lower his head submissively when he comes up for petting. He is very friendly and seems to like people and kids. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily but we have noticed in foster care that he still has a little interest when they run around him so he needs careful supervision at first. He was a little nervous at first in a home environment but he gets more playful and silly after a few days. He just has the sweetest personality. Groomsman kennels very quietly, even when he is alone. He is very clean in his crate and will whine to let you know he has to go out. That is the only time he makes noise in the kennel though. He is a natural sitter which is a position that is not comfortable for most greyhounds. He sometimes will do a little sideways Elvis grin just on one side. This is the prettiest boy that seems like he will do well in just about any situation. We just love him! |

Robbie came in from the Sanford Orlando Race track. He raced 71 races there and did get up to the top A level briefly. His last race was Feb 5th. Robbie raced at 77lbs and will turn 3 on July 22nd. He is the son of WW All Star Owen that we adopted out recently and his dam is Kentucky Ashley. Robbie passed his cat test so should be fine to live with cats or smaller dogs. He is a very handsome white boy with brindle spots. Robbie is a pretty confident guy that thought he was the boss of the other boys he was turned out with at the track. He got along well with all but one that didn't see eye to eye with Robbie and they had to be watched closely. Robbie has been doing fine with the other males in his foster home and hasn't tried to be bossy with any of them. He backed right off when a female got after him for sniffing her too much during transport and was a complete gentleman. Robbie has been the perfect gentleman since he arrived and is very well behaved in his foster home and has followed all the rules. He did pull hard on the leash wanting to check everything out at first, but his foster mom worked with him on that and reports that he is excellent on leash now. Robbie only had one accident in his foster home so picked up on potty training exceptionally fast. His foster mom says he is a wonderful boy that is a joy to have around. He isn't really that food motivated and will lay there and just look at his food bowl sometimes and wait to eat until he is ready. He has really liked the children he has met. Robbie has the cutest puppy face and is so sweet! |

He raced at 71lbs and just turned 3 on July 12th. His sire is the famous KC and All and his dam is Esteem Drive. He passed his cat and small dog tests. Scoobie seems like a happy friendly guy that is pretty calm. He is mostly white with just a few black brindle patches with cute ears that stand straight up when he is curious about something. More as we get to know him. |

Her sire is Pat C Clement and her dam is Idaho Cuda. She is a friendly happy girl that seems pretty calm. She passed her cat and small dog tests and is living with a cat in her foster home. She loves to follow her foster family and the other dogs in her home around. She is very food motivated so would probably learn tricks really fast for food. Snitch is very quiet in her crate and sleeps through the night. She has adapted to foster care really easily. |

Buzz came in from Jade Feise at the Naples Ft Myers Race Track. He just raced 9 races there and only won one of those so was retired young. His last race was January 18th and he has been waiting in the kennel since then. Buzz just turned 2 on April 17th. He is a big stocky guy that raced at 80lbs. His sire is the famous KC and All and his dam is HS Texoma. Buzz was too excited around cats, so needs a home without them. He was fine with a 15lb Italian Greyhound, so may be OK to live with smaller dogs. Buzz is a friendly, happy guy that loves people and will be very devoted. He likes playing in the yard and would love to have a fenced yard of his own. He is very food motivated, so would be perfect for someone that wanted to train tricks, agility or do obedience with a dog. He doesn't get up on the furniture so far. Buzz would like a home with another large dog in it because he doesn't like to be left totally alone. He is doing really well in a home with several other greyhounds, but didn't do well when left totally alone in a home with no other dogs. Buzz loves to play with toys and has learned how to fetch already. He is a very smart guy that will be a lot of fun for a lucky family. |

She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home. She likes the kids in her foster home and seems like a very well mannered girl. |

Marvin is coming in for one of our volunteers that met him on a trip to the track and has been waiting on him to retire. So he is not available for adoption. Marvin is rare blue/grey male. He raced at 77lbs and raced 118 races. He was a fantastic racer racing at Wheeling Downs, one of the top tracks. He raced at the top A and AA levels there. Once he started slowing down a bit he was moved to Sanford Orlando to finish out his career and has just retired from there. He turned 4 on Jan 9th. Marvin's sire is the famous Trent Lee and his dam is Barts Magpie. He is a sweet boy that is friendly with people and other dogs. He gets along well with all the other dogs at the kennel and never causes any trouble. A really good boy. Marvin passed his cat test so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. He has done fantastic since he arrived. We found that he loves to play with toys and he spends a lot of time playing in the yard with the kids in his new family. He is a pretty submissive boy that tries hard to please and tries not to do anything wrong. |

Harry just arrived from the Birmingham Race Course. He actually raced at Palm Beach and Sanford Orlando tracks and was just sent to the Birmingham Track Adoption Group because they needed greyhounds to transport to adoption groups across the country. He race 56 races and got up to the top A level at Sanford Orlando briefly. Harry turned 3 on March 21st and is a very small 66lb boy. His sire is BD's Grayson and his dam is DS Katie. Harry passed his cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either. He liked the children he met and tried to get them to play with him. He travels well and kennels well. He seems like a friendly, calm guy that should do well in just about any situation. Harry was brought in for a specific family and was adopted by them shortly after he arrived. |

Sippin is a beautiful 66lb red girl that just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race track. She raced 170 races so had a long career. She also raced at Naples Ft Myers, Flagler, Mardi Gras and Dubuque tracks, so traveled around quite a bit. She mainly raced at the lower D levels but did get up to the top A level briefly during her career. Her trainer says she is a sweet girl that keeps her crate clean and is very quiet. Sippin is very reserved at first with strangers but does warm up with time. Her sire is the famous KC and All and her dam is Rain On Me. She turned 4 on January 16th. Sippin still needs tested with cats and small dogs. As expected, Sippin was very overwhelmed by the move from the track kennel into a foster home. The first day it took her foster family 5 hours to catch her and get her back in the house after a potty break in their fenced yard. Sippin just was too afraid to come back inside or to let people she didn't know close enough to her to catch her. So she will need to be leash walked until she gets to know her new family. She is just timid and will need time and patience. She was friendly and happy at the track with the trainers she knew and loved. It may take a few weeks or even a few months for her to warm up to a new family and new environment. She is starting to slowly warm up and follows her foster family from room to room but stays just out of reach most of the time. She is very quiet and never makes a peep. Sippin has done really well on walks in the neighborhood with other greyhounds and seems to gain confidence from being with a more confident greyhound. She would love to have a greyhound brother or sister and a safely fenced yard in her new home. Sippin just glanced at the cats she saw in the vet's office and didn't even try to go near them so we think she would be OK to live with cats and small dogs. |

Tea just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track in Florida. She also raced at Derby Lane in St Pete. She briefly got up to the top A level, but mostly raced at the lower levels. Tea will turn 3 on July 19th. She raced at 62lbs. Her sire is Defrim Bale and her dam is All Access Pass. Tea passed her cat test so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. According to her trainer, Tea is a bouncy, happy girl that is a little more active than the average greyhound. She has been pretty quiet and overwhelmed since she arrived so far. She was pretty timid with people and was uncomfortable with strange dogs sniffing her. By the end of the first day she was standing and letting us pet her rather than shying away, so we think she will warm up pretty fast. She is eating well and slept through the entire first night without a peep. Her trainer says she was a barker at feeding time and wasn't shy about telling her that she needed to be fed first. Her trainer also told us that she was an energetic happy fun girl at the kennel and we are already seeing that after just a few days. |

Diamond just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She is a cute brindle girl that turned 3 on Feb 19th. She has 53 races listed and raced at 62lbs. She raced at Valley Race Track in Texas and Derby Lane and Sanford Orlando Tracks in Florida. She wasn't a good racer and only won one race that we could find. She did place just enough at the lowest level to keep racing for awhile, but gradually spent more and more time at the back of the pack, so was finally retired. She passed her cat test but we listed her as "trainable" because she was excited to see the cat at first. She was just curious though and is excited to check everything new out. She quickly lost interest. She is a happy, friendly girl with a tail that wags all the time. Sometimes she wags so hard that the tail nearly wags her. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Atascocita Vita. Her trainer says she is a very outgoing girl bouncy, fun girl that tends to be a bit more energetic than most. Really a sweet girl that likes everyone she meets so far. |

Kendal came in from the Palm Beach Race Track where she spent about half of her racing career of 57 races. She also raced at Orange Park. She mainly raced at the lower levels of racing but did win a few races and did a lot of placing. She is a small, light fawn female that raced at 58lbs. She seems really calm and well behaved and didn't make a peep in her kennel. She will turn 4 on August 1st. Her sire is KC and All and her dam is Mani Sweet. Kendall was adopted in January of this year and was renamed Kombi. She is being re-homed due to a work schedule change. She is now home for too long by herself every day and the person that comes to let her out in the afternoon is going to be unavailable soon. She does fine with 8 hours, but they are often gone longer than that. Her family has made the difficult decision to have us find her another home. Kombi has been living with a cat and a small dog. She lets the cat wash her and play with her. Her mom says that she is a very good girl and very well behaved. She has been living with older children, a 10 and an 18 year old and has been very good with them. |

Greer just arrived from a farm in Arkansas. We aren't sure why she never raced but most of the rest of her litter did. All the girls in the litter were very good racing at the top levels and competing in Stakes races. Most of them went on to become Moms like Greer. Greer has a total of 11 puppies that have been registered to race so far but she could have another younger litter or two that has yet to be registered. She had one litter in 2014 that have all already been retired from racing. Greer had another litter in 2016 and most of those are racing right now. Greer will turn 7 on October 23rd. Since she never actually raced she doesn't have a racing weight but we would guess her to be around 60lbs. Her sire is the famous Rhythmless and her dam is Pawn Of Ruckus. Greer is timid at first and seems pretty overwhelmed by all the changes in her life. She is very calm and quiet and likes the safety of her crate so far. She seems like a very laid back girl but may just need time to get more comfortable before she gets confident enough to show her personality. She isn't terribly shy or scared of people, she is just unsure. Greer passed her cat and small dog tests so should do fine in a home with either one. More as we get to know her. |

Journey just came in from the Sanford Orlando Track. He is an extra large male racing at 88lbs. He raced 43 races and started out racing at Southland in Arkansas. He only raced a few races there and was moved to Sanford Orlando for the rest of his career. He got up to the top A level briefly. He injured his hock on January 6th and hasn't raced since then. He was healed up and rehabbed at the track in hopes he could return to racing, but after he ran a couple of practice runs his trainer decided to retire him rather than risk him re-injuring the hock. Journey is a gentle giant of a dog. He has no idea he is the biggest dog in the kennel and is actually sensitive and a bit timid. He may need some time to warm up to a new family. Journey was overwhelmed when he got into foster care. He still wagged his tail a little and approached cautiously if called. He would shy away from fast movements and loud noises. Journey caught onto the steps to go outside pretty fast after being afraid to try them the first time. He passed his cat test so should be able to live with cats or small dogs. He is a beautiful black male that will turn 3 August 21st. His sire is the famous Djays Octane and his dam is Prickly Pooch. He seems like a timid sensitive boy that will warm up pretty fast to his new home and family. He is quiet in his kennel and eats well even when stressed. He hasn't skipped a meal and seems to be adjusting well to his new food. |

Talker just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She is a large female racing at 74lbs. She raced at Southland for awhile but raced most of her career of 129 races at Sanford Orlando. She did get up to the top A level races at Orlando. Talker will turn 4 on July 24th. Her sire is Tyrur Alex* and her dam is All Access Pass. We placed her littermate On The Flip Side and another girl that is arriving with her, Team Player, shares the same mom but has a different dad. Talker passed her cat test so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. Her trainer says she is pretty calm and relaxed except at lunch time. She gets excited about eating. Talker is very outgoing and sweet. She is great on stairs and doesn't seemed over concerned or afraid of anything. She adapted to her foster home and acted like she had always been there from the first day. Her littermate's adopters have decided to adopt Talker too! She will be going home with her brother Flip as soon as she has her vetting and will probably be called Pip. |

Cool just arrived from a farm in Arkansas. She had a long career of 126 races and was pretty good even competing in a Stakes Race. She raced at Tri State and Wheeling Downs in WV. She retired in October of 2014 and went back to the farm to become a mom. We aren't sure if she ever had any puppies because so far none have been registered to race. Pups have to be registered before racing and usually are registered by the time they are a year and a half old. Cool has been on the farm for nearly 4 years and turned 8 on March 24th. She is looking for a couch of her own now and seems like she may have found one at her foster family's home. Cool is a happy, silly girl with a lot of personality. She is very outgoing and friendly and doesn't seem to be scared of much except for shiny floors. Cool raced at 64lbs. Her sire is USS Raceway and her dam is Myokie Flame. Cool passed her cat and small dog tests and is being fostered with both. More as we get to know her. |

Judith just arrived from a farm in Arkansas. She had a long career as a racer with 151 races. She started out at Wheeling in WV and then was moved to Tri-State, also in WV. She raced the top A and AA levels most of her career at Tri State and was quite the star winning a lot of races. When she retired from racing in December of 2013 she went back to the farm to be a mom. Judith had one litter of 7 puppies in May of 2015. She did not pass on her talent to her kids and that litter has already retired from racing and some never raced at all. Judith may have had other litters that haven't been registered yet, since then. Judith is a fuzzy black female that still has her thick farm coat from spending a lot of time outside. It is sun bleached so she will look chocolate brown until it all sheds out and then will be glossy black with a normal short greyhound coat. Judith raced at 62lbs. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Shelbourne Jess*. She turned 9 on January 1st and she raced at 62lbs. Judith is a friendly, happy girl that took her trip from the farm to her foster home in stride. She traveled well and just got into the vehicle and laid down. She wasn't nervous walking on shiny floors or going up and down stairs. She seems pretty easy going and not much stresses her. She passed her cat and small dog tests and likes people. She got along well with the other females on the trip. More as we get to know her. |

Cabrera came in from the Sarasota Race Track. She also raced at Ebro and Orange Park. Even though she raced 123 races, she wasn't really fast. She was only competitive at the lower D levels of racing and placed in the money just enough to keep racing. She raced at 65lbs and just turned 4 on May 20th. Cabrera's sire is the famous Gable Sour Cream and her dam is Ozark Beth. Cabrera is a happy, friendly girl that will make a great pet. She liked the cats she met a little too much to be able to live with them. She did fine with a whippet that she is being fostered with and some smaller dogs she met. Although she is being fostered with children and likes them, we have noticed that she can be a little protective of her space when she is laying down so we would prefer to place her only with a family without small children that wouldn't understand that old saying "Let A sleeping dog lie." Cabrera is very loving and so sweet that her foster home was really wanting to keep her permanently but with their small kids she wouldn't work on a permanent basis. |

Sally came in from Oxbow Trow Kennel at the Naples Ft Myers Race Track. She just raced 14 races and won only 1 of them. She rarely placed so was retired young. Sally is a white girl with black spots that just turned 2 on May 27th. She still has a puppy look to her face and still has some playful puppy energy too. Sally raced at 62lbs. Her sire is the famous Kiowa Myth and her dam is Wayward Angel. She is a very sweet girl. She was a little interested in the cat when she met it but lost interest quickly. Sally was in a foster home with cats and did fine there. She has done well with the small dog she has met but wants to play with him so needs a home with a small dog that is at least big enough to play with safely. She does really like kids. Sally is a friendly girl that loves people. She is mostly quiet in her kennel but does occasionally make some noise. She is young and still learning manners so will need supervision until she learns the rules. |

Holly just arrived from the Jacobs Racing Kennel at the Naples Ft Myers Race track. She only raced 29 races there and at the Flagler track but she wasn't able to win one of them. Holly usually was toward the back of the pack and looks like she may be little accident prone because she fell in several of her races. She is a red female that raced at 62lbs. Holly turned 2 on February 12th. Her sire is Shonn and her dam is Glossy Glow. Holly is very sweet and friendly. She is a natural sitter which is unusual for the breed. Most aren't comfortable in the sit position by the time they reach full growth. She is mostly quiet in the crate but does complain a little. Holly passed her cat test easily with just a calm sniff. The cat slapped her and she backed off and wasn't interested in going back. She also has been fine with the small dogs she has met. A really sweet girl. |

Gibbon just arrived from Jade Feise Kennel at the Naples Ft Myers Race Track. She raced at total of 55 races and also raced at Southland Race Track in Arkansas and Flagler. Her last race was April 28th. Gibbon only won two races in her career but she placed in the top 4 a lot so she was allowed to continue racing. Dogs that place also make some money. Gibbon is a brindle female that raced at 67lbs. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is Oshkosh Paris. Gibbon turned 2 on February 4th. More as we get to know her. |

Ace is a greyhound racing star and had a long successful career of 216 races. He raced at Ebro, Sarasota, Mardi Gras, Flagler, Dubuque and just retired from Naples Ft Myers. Ace was consistently racing at the top A levels and competed in many Stakes races that are reserved for the fastest greyhounds at that track. He won some of those races too and was a 2015 Naples Floridian Finalist. He is coming in from Jimmy King at the Flagler track and we are thrilled to be able to meet and place a star like Ace. We wish he could sign autographs. His sire is the very famous Trent Lee and his dam is Kiowa WW Ring. Ace raced at 74lbs and turned 5 on February 21st. Ace has an awesome friendly personality. He is very calm and seems like he would be a very easy first greyhound. He was not interested in the cat at all so should be great living in a home with cats and small dogs. Very sweet guy! Update: Ace's foster family has decided to keep him!! |

Vixen just came in from the Naples Ft Myers Race track. She raced 121 races there and at the Flagler Race track in Florida. She mainly just placed at the lower racing levels and only rarely won a race. She did get up to B level briefly. Vixen raced at 64lbs and is a pretty red girl that turns 4 on June 3rd. Her sire is the famous Djays Octane and her dam is Oshkosh Verizon. She was somewhat interested in the cat when she met it but she may be trainable. We would like to do another test with another cat to see how she does. Vixen does the famous greyhound grin when she is excited or happy. Very cute! She is quiet in her crate. More as we get to know her. |

Special Needs Boy That Has Been With Us The Longest! Hitch is a handsome, black guy that came to us from the Daytona Beach Race Track. He is a smaller guy that raced at 66lbs. Hitch raced 30 races and only managed to win one of his races so was retired young. He just turned 3 on April 23rd. His sire is P's Gibbs and is dam is Kiowa Super Cin. Hitch has an auto immune caused dry eye condition, where the tear ducts just suddenly stopped producing any tears. Hitch's eyes were OK when he began racing and his last race was August 8th. When his trainer noticed that his eyes became dry, he was started on antibiotic treatment, lubricating drops and eye flushes at the track. Hitch was at the track waiting on a group to take him from August to December. We got Hitch from the track at the end of December and have worked with our vet and eye specialists to resolve his eye issue. Our vet started him on prescription lubricating eye drops that were given several times a day when he arrived. Unfortunately that medication didn't work well and he developed a deep ulcer on one eye and had to have emergency surgery to save the eye. When he went in for a recheck on that eye, ulcers were also found on the other eye. So Hitch had to have another emergency surgery on that eye too. One surgery was $2200 and the other was $1800. The eye specialist came up with another treatment plan with drops that can be given several times a day that work to keep his eyes lubricated. This treatment has been successful and he seems to be pain free now and he he is able to see!! So Hitch has finally been released for adoption after 4 months. Hitch is an exceptionally sweet guy that has a wonderful personality, in spite of all the trouble he had with his eyes and the pain he was in. He has been very cooperative with the vets and staff during his surgeries and treatment. Once Hitches' eyes stopped hurting all the time and he could see again, he went from a subdued dog that liked staying in his crate with his eyes closed, to a silly, happy, playful guy. Hitch passed his cat and small dog tests easily, and has been fostered with both so is used to being around them. Hitch has been going to work every day with his foster mom and is very well behaved in the office and enjoys the attention from her coworkers. The pictures of Hitch with the gunk around his eyes were taken when he first arrived. The ones with shaved patches around his eyes were taken right after surgery. The one with Hitch wearing the cone was taken some time after the surgeries and you can see the red grafts. The hair has grown back now and his eyes are clear, but each eye has a reddish patch where a surgical graft was put on to patch the holes in his eyes. You can see the graft in the more recent pictures taken in April with the toy, standing on the wood floor and with the green circle drawn around the eye. If you are considering adopting this special guy, these are the medications that Hitch is on and what they cost: Twice daily drops of compounded 1% Tacrolimus morning and evening ($75 for 2.5 -3 months supply). Drops of artificial tears several times a day: morning, after work, and right before bed would work (cheap and available over the counter). One drop of Fluriprofin 1 time per day whenever convenient ($12 to $25 dollars depending on where it is purchased, one bottle lasts months). Hitch will need rechecks of his eyes twice a year. Hitch doesn't need drops at night when he is just sleeping. Because of generous donations toward his adoption fee, Hitch's fee will be just $50 and he will come with at least a month's worth of medications. He will need to continue his medications for life. We have spent nearly $5000 on Hitch's two surgeries, hospital stays and with the specialist trying different medications until we found a treatment that worked. If you would like to help with Hitch's medical expenses please go to our donation page. We appreciate all the donations that have come in for Hitch already! |

Haley just arrived from Miami Florida. She just celebrated her 4th birthday on April 26th. Haley raced at 63lbs. She raced 94 races at Mardi Gras Race Track, Wheeling and Bluffs Run. Her sire is the famous Djays Octane and her dam is Flying Bassey. Haley is a friendly, happy girl that likes people. She was too interested in chasing cats to be able to live with them and tends to mistake small dogs for squirrels or bunnies so needs to live with medium to larger size dogs. She gets along well with other dogs and is a very sweet loving girl that is going to make a wonderful pet. |

Piper initially came to us from a greyhound farm and at that time she was called Hunter. She just had no prey drive and wouldn't chase anything so never even made it to the race track. Her sire is Flying Coal City and her dam is Cbar Bigspender. We got her before her 2nd birthday and she has been in a wonderful adoptive home since then. Piper will turn 5 on June 26th. Piper's family made the difficult decision to re-home her because she is panting, stressed and staying in her kennel since the birth of their third child. They had one baby when they adopted her and she was fantastic with him. They had a 2nd child after they adopted Piper that is now a toddler, and just added a 3rd new baby to the mix. Hunter can be a little jumpy and timid in new situations but loves people and really loves to snuggle with people. She is such a sweet loving dog, but loud voices or quick movements can make her skitter away temporarily. She is very quiet in her kennel so may do well in a townhouse or apartment. Hunter potties really well outside as soon as you put her out. She does tend to freeze up a bit on leash when confronted with something new and scary so needs a little work on that. Hunter is a very sweet, timid young girl that hasn't seen much of the world yet and needs some exposure to new things. She is so beautiful with all that eyeliner. |

Reggie just arrived from Miami Florida. She is a young girl that only has 3 races listed and came in toward the back of the pack every time, so was retired young. She won't turn two until June 19th. Her sire is Mamas Special Ed and her dam is Mamas Sunny Skies. Reggie is pretty timid so far. She seems like she wants to cautiously interact with strangers, so probably will be fine with time and is just overwhelmed by everything new in her life. Reggie is quiet in her kennel and sleeps all night. She is a small female that raced at just 56lbs. Reggie passed her cat and small dog tests easily so should be able to live with either one. |

Coco just arrived from the CTW Greyhound Farm in Texas by way of the Birmingham Race Track. Coco arrived with her sister Jojo. Neither one of them actually raced. They failed out of race training because they would come out of the box and go straight to the nearest person for love instead of chasing the lure. Just no prey drive or chase drive at all. They are both tattooed Left ear 68886 and right ears are 66a and 66b. So they started the registration process but never completed it to get a registered racing name. One of their sisters, CTW Sugarfoot did complete the registration process so we have all of Coco and Jojo's info on the database through her. We don't have a weight on the girls but their sister is racing at 60lbs so chances are that they are a similar size. Their sire is Trent Lee and their dam is CTW Starlet. They will turn 2 on June 11th. With not even enough prey drive to chase a lure, both should be fine with cats, small dogs and other small critters. There are children on the farm they were raised on that help take care of the dogs so they should be very used to being around kids too. More as we get to know these girls. |

Brady is a beautiful black girl with a white blaze on her nose and white stockings. She has a shiny black coat too. Brady's litter was all named for football players. She raced 103 races at Derby Lane, Southland and finally Sarasota. She raced mostly at the lower D and C levels but did win some and placed a lot. Brady raced at 60lbs and will turn 4 on October 1st. Her sire is the famous Pat C Clement and her dam is Canttellmenothin. Brady is a happy, friendly girl that seems to have a lot of personality. She is very sweet and passed her cat test easily and also was fine with the small dogs she met. She traveled very well and just hopped in the van and laid down. More as we get to know her. |

Aggie retired from the Sanford Orlando Race track in November of 2017. She also raced some of her 67 races at Mardi Gras Racetrack and Palm Beach. She mainly raced at the lower levels and wasn't really very good but she did manage to win 8 races. Aggie raced at 61lbs and turned 3 on September 22nd. Her sire is the famous Gable Sour Cream and her dam is Macs Lonesomeluv. Aggie was adopted on January 6th of this year, but has not done well as an only dog. Her family tried to work her through her separation anxiety, but finally decided to return her to us so she could be placed in an adoptive home that had other dogs. She has done fine and shown no separation anxiety since she has been back with us. She has been great with the other dogs in her foster home and has kenneled nicely too. Aggie is being fostered with kids and likes kids a lot. She is an excellent meet and greet dog, going to each person for petting that comes up. She has no sense of personal space and loves to snuggle with other dogs and humans. Really a sweet girl. She may need a fenced yard because she likes to take her time to go potty and likes to find just the right spot. |

Black House is a gorgeous, large, 79lb, black male that came in from the Mardi Gras Race Track in Florida. He only raced 26 races and also raced at the Dubuque Track. He only won 2 races in his career so was retired young. He won't turn 3 until August 24th. He is a very calm, laid back guy that is very sweet but very shy. House warmed up to his foster family after a few weeks, but gets very overwhelmed and scared in new places and can be very shy with new people. Nothing bad ever happened to him, he just has a shy, timid personality. He is more of a homebody that usually prefers his familiar environment. He does jump right in the SUV and likes to go for drives though and actually seemed to enjoy the attention of people at a recent PetSmart meet and greet. So he may eventually do better in new situations with more exposure. House does walk pretty well on harness and leash. He is doing great with the children in his foster home and the other dog. With most shy dogs, a house full of loud children may be overwhelming, so if we place him with kids it would be best if it they were quieter kids. House showed no interest in chasing cats when he met them and was more interested in getting into the safety of a familiar crate at the scary vet office. He is normally really well behaved and corrects easily if he does anything wrong. Once he warms up to you he is a happy waggy guy that is very loving. House seems like he will make a wonderful pet. He is just a very sensitive guy that will need time to warm up to new situations and a new family. He generally likes his crate and looks on it as his safe place but can make some noise in it, so probably wouldn't be the best apartment dog. House's sire is the famous SH Avatar and his dam is Lookn Even Finer. |

Sara just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Fl. She was a good racer that raced 122 races and got up to the top A level and won often. She pulled up and slowed way down in her last race on March 31st. She finished so far back that she wasn't in the picture at the end so was retired. Sara also raced at Bluffs Run, Naples Ft Myers and Flagler tracks early on in her career. She will turn 5 on November 9th and she raced at 63lbs. Her sire is DJays Octane and her dam is Boc's Sarasota. We have actually placed several of Sarasota's littermates. Sara was a kennel pet and favorite at the track. She has a very outgoing social personality and is a happy silly girl with a wonderful personality. She passed her cat and small dog tests. She sniffed them both and wouldn't get near the cat again after it slapped her for sniffing it one time. More as we get to know Sara. |

Gunner just arrived from a kennel at the Sarasota Race Track. He also raced at Ebro and Orange Park. He raced 73 races but only won 6 of those so he mainly just placed. He is a big guy that raced at 82lbs. He turned 3 on February 4th. His sire is Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Oshkosh Paris. Gunner is a very sweet, friendly guy that doesn't know a stranger. He will stare up into your eyes and carefully watch what is going on around him with the cutest look on his face. We aren't sure how good his eyesight is though and are having our vet check his eyes. His eyes look completely normal, but his vision just seems like it might be limited. He runs and plays and acts totally normal and it is more noticeable with things up close to him. Gunner was completely sure he could drive the van at first though. He did lay down pretty quickly and travelled well. He goes potty nicely on leash, so may do fine without a fenced yard with regular leash walks. He seems to get along well with other dogs and has liked other dogs he has met both large and small. He gets overly excited about cats though even though he wasn't completely sure where the cat was during most of the cat test. Just the smell of the cat and whatever he could see of the shape of the cat was pretty exciting to him, so he needs a home with no cats. Small dogs seem to be fine though even if cat sized. Gunner is just the most precious, loving guy. He will be your shadow. He is the cutest guy! |

Sweet Pete just arrived from the Birmingham AL Race Course Track adoption kennel. He never actually raced there, but was one that was sent there because they transport a lot of retired dogs to other adoption groups across the country, including ours. He raced 126 races all at the Palm Beach Race Track in Florida. He was a pretty good racer racing a lot of his career at the top A level and even winning A level races. Sweet Pete is a stunning 76lb dark brindle guy that is a rich mahogany red with black stripes. He has the most beautiful shiny coat. Just stunning! Sweet Pete turned 4 on December 8th. He is a strong guy that needs some reminders on walking nicely on leash because he gets excited and wants to see everything at once. He is very friendly and has loved all the people he has met. Sweet Pete just couldn't resist chasing the cat, so he needs a home with no kitties. He was better with the little dog he met and just sniffed him politely but was initially interested in him at a distance before he knew what he was. He just needs a careful intro to small dogs that might look like bunnies or squirrels. Sweet Pete's sire is the famous Gable Sour Cream and his dam is AMF Blazing Sun. Pete is being fostered with a 6 year old child and really seems to enjoy being around her. We listed him as "older kids only" because he could knock over a toddler accidentally when he was being bouncy, happy and silly. Pete is more energetic and fun than the typical couch potato greyhound. He would be the perfect choice for a family that likes to go for walks or hikes. Sweet Pete will enjoy a more active lifestyle than most. Pete does complain about being in his kennel, so would not be a good choice for apartment or townhouse living. |

Brody just arrived from the Palm Beach Race Track. He also raced at Naples Ft Myers in Florida and Valley Race Track in Texas. He was moved around hoping to find a track where he would be competitive but he kept coming in near the back of the pack. Brody raced 39 races and only won 1 of those so was finally retired. He is still young and won't turn 3 until June 6th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is Atascocita Avery. He is a very outgoing, happy, boy with a tail that wags happily all the time. Brody seems to love everyone he meets and doesn't seem to be bothered a bit by the sudden change in his life and so many new things and experiences. He does need some work on his leash walking because he is so curious about everything and wants to go check out everything. Brody passed his cat and small dog tests easily. The cat slapped him before he even noticed it and he stayed away from it after that. Brody is seems like a bouncy, higher energy guy that is going to be playful and fun. |

Hoity Toity comes to us from the Melbourne Race track. She just has a few training races listed. Her first two schooling races she refused to run. She did eventually start running but never was very good, so was retired really young. She just turned 2 on April 13th. Her sire is Definitely Opinion and her dam is SH Kung Fu Kathy. Hoity Toity is a red female that weighs 60lbs. Hoity Toity passed her cat and small dog tests easily and really doesn't seem to have much of a prey drive. She is quiet in her kennel and very sweet. Hoity Toity was a little overwhelmed by everything new but isn't really shy and seems to like everyone she has met. Just a little cautious at first and keeps her tail tucked in new situations. She plays well with other dogs even when first meeting them. She seems like a girl that will be calm in the house and in her kennel, but will be ready to play with her buddies outside for short spurts. She has the biggest expressive eyes. Hoity Toity has been fostered in a home with cats and has been doing great with them. She is a very sweet girl and is so cute! |

Icon is a gentle 86 lb giant that just came in from the Birmingham Race Track Adoption Kennel. He never actually raced there but was just sent to their adoption kennel to place with one of the adoption groups they work with. Icon was one of the best racers, getting up to the very top AA level, at the best track in the country- Southland in Arkansas. He also raced at another top track, Wheeling in WV, then Mardi Gras, Dubuque and finally Sarasota. He raced 153 races. Icon broke his leg on January 6th of 2018. He was casted for 6 weeks and put into a soft splint for 2 after that at the track. His splint was removed by the time he got to us and we sent him to Pro Greyhound for rehab. He is finished with that now and has been released for adoption. He will still need a month or two more of reduced activity where he takes it easy on the leg. He shouldn't run around and play with other dogs yet outside for awhile to be sure the leg is very strong. Icon is huge. He raced at a very tall 86lbs. His back comes up to our hip, probably around 31 or 32 inches at the shoulder. Icon has a gorgeous shiny black coat. He is friendly and happy. Icon travels really well and is silent in his crate so may be a good choice to live in an apartment or townhouse. He loves to put his head in your lap for petting and seems pretty calm indoors. Icon can be playful, silly and bouncy outside. Because of his old injury Icon may not enjoy long hikes. He loves to go for shorter walks though and can easily support his weight and uses his leg. He is a great guy and his foster home just loves his personality. He is a really good guy that seems to want to please and just wants love. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily with no desire to chase either. He seems to like other dogs and gets along extremely well with the large pack of dogs that his foster home has. He is just a friendly easy going guy that loves everyone he meets. Icon's sire is the very famous DJays Octane and his dam is Silver Idol. He just turned 5 on April 1st. Icon was called Senna by his adoptive family. He was the politest, gentlest, sweetest cuddle bug and was a once in a lifetime dog. He crossed the bridge due to Osteosarcoma at just 8.5 years old September 15th of 2021. |

Gallant just came in from the Birmingham Race Course. He didn't actually race there, and was sent to the adoption kennel there because they move dogs from many tracks into adoption groups. He raced a total of 60 races at Orange Park in Jacksonville Florida and Daytona Beach Florida. He only ever won one race though. He did place some, which kept him racing at the lowest beginner level for awhile. He was retired the end of December and has been waiting on a group to take him since then. Gallant will turn 3 on August 9th. His sire is Aerial Battle and his dam is WW's Kuniya. He was too interested in the cat to be able to live with one. He did fine with the small dog he met though. After only one day in his foster home his foster mom asked if he had lived in a home before. He was perfectly behaved and acted like he was already house trained. As far as we know, he has lived in the kennel, but we don't have a lot of history on him to know for sure. Either way he is a very very good boy that should be an easy, well behaved addition to about any home. He seems to learn fast and want to please. He is very good in his kennel. He loves people and will just stand next to you for love as long as you will pet him. He is a very lovable guy. Gallant was adopted briefly and when he returned to our group his original foster family decided that he should stay with them. |

Gaby just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track and was raised on the Bolton Farm near the track. It is a smaller beautiful farm where the dogs get lots of one on one attention. Gaby Is a pretty red girl that raced 179 races at 63lbs. She was a good racer, racing much of her career at the top A level there. Her sire is the famous Bella Infrared and her dam is Waubun Brenda. Gaby will turn 5 on June 8th. Gaby is a friendly, happy girl. She passed her cat test easily and seemed like she already knew that cats have claws and refused to go near the kitty. She is also fine with small dogs. Gaby is very sweet and will sit and lean up against the front of your legs for attention. She is a waggy, happy girl that doesn't seem fazed by anything new so seems like she will do well very fast with her new family. She is very loving and just loves to be close to her humans. She did like the small kids she met briefly but has not been around small kids long term yet. She can complain a bit about being in her kennel, so probably wouldn't be a good apartment dog. Gaby is adapting very well to her foster home and is such a beautiful sweet girl! |
