Neo came in from the Birmingham Race Course adoption group. He didn't actually race there though and is a dog from Melbourne FL. He only raced 3 races and got bumped by another dog in his last race and just quit running. He is a timid, sensitive boy, so we can see how he could just quit running if something scary happened. Neo is a beautiful, fawn male that raced at 72lbs. He just turned 2 on February 6th. His sire is Yahoo Omar and his dam is Slatex Emerald. Neo passed his initial cat and small dog tests and has lived in two foster homes with cats now successfully. He also passed his small dog test. Although he is very loving and happy at home with people he knows, Neo can be shy at first. He prefers the comfort of his familiar home environment and gets stressed out in new places. Although he considers his crate his safe place and retreats to it if he is scared of something, he does complain sometimes when he doesn't want to be in the crate - like when his foster mom comes home from work. So Neo probably would not be a good choice for an apartment. Neo is very loving, playful, sweet and will stand beside you as long as you will pet him. His foster home says that after a few weeks he has turned into their shadow and follows them around everywhere. He loves to collect toys and stuffed animals but isn't destructive with them. He just collects them. Because Neo is timid and loud noises bother him, we think he would be nervous living in a home with small, loud children that move fast. Older quieter children should be OK. Neo's confidence is growing and he now will walk up to strangers in his home in just a short amount of time for petting. Neo is a gorgeous boy that has been waiting on home since March 20th just because he is shy.
