Additional Details:

Gem just arrived from North Shore Kennels at Palm Beach. She is a tiny girl that raced at just 53lbs. She only raced 17 races total and also raced briefly at Derby Lane. She didn't win one of her races and broke her hock in her last race on October 19th. Her leg was fixed and rehabbed at the track and the vet has cleared her for adoption now. The leg healed up great and she can play and run around with no problem. Her trainer describes her as "super sweet and friendly", and says she'll climb right up in your lap. She is definitely a snuggly girl that loves to be close. She's playful and probably would prefer a family that will keep her active or a playmate with a yard where she can run around. She's quiet and calm inside the kennel and house though and gets along with all the other dogs. She is a cute girl that has ears that stand straight up when she sees something she is interested in. Gem's sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Kiowa Lazy Jill. She is young and just turned 2 on Dec 11th. Gem passed her cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. She seems to like the grandchildren that visit her foster home.
