Doug Stamper's litter was named for the characters on the Netflix series House of Cards. We placed several dogs in his litter Frank Underwood, Heather Dunbar, and Skorsky. He was called Doug at the track but his first family called him Duke. Duke is a really big red male that raced at 86lbs but now weighs around 100lbs. He needs to lose quite a few pounds so has been on a diet since his return. He turned 4 on October 29th. Duke raced 89 races, mostly at the lower C and D levels but did get up to A one time. He raced at Derby Lane and Orlando tracks. His sire is the famous KC and All and his dam is D's Honey Badger. Duke is a friendly, happy guy that has been in an adoptive home for a year. He seems to love men the most and was very attached to the man in his current family. He loved playing fetch with him and just loves chasing tennis balls. He got way too excited when meeting a cat so needs a home without cats. He was fine with a 15lb Italian Greyhound after he was allowed to sniff him thoroughly, but Duke sometimes mistakes smaller dogs for rabbits or squirrels without a proper introduction. Duke likes to play with other dogs and is such a big dog that he would probably do best with a larger dog that was OK with rough play. He seems like a natural leader that can be a bit bossy so would do best with another dog that needed a confident dog. He may also be fine as an only dog. He has liked the kids he has met. He is smart and figured out potty training immediately. Duke also knows other commands like "wait" and has been very good in his home. Duke loves to travel and meet people. He is very quiet and was fostered in a townhouse initially so may be OK for apartment or townhouse living. He is good on leash. |

Talley just arrived from a farm in Arkansas. She raced 76 races at Wheeling Downs, Southland and Derby Lane. She did get up to A level briefly at Derby Lane and Wheeling so was pretty good. She retired from racing in December of 2016 and was sent back to the farm to be a mom. She had her first litter of 3 pups August of 2017 and they have just started their racing careers. Those are the only puppies registered but she has at least one other litter that was just weaned and maybe another one that hasn't been registered yet. Talley is a sweet girl that raced at 67lbs. She just turned 6 on March 14th. Her sire is Tyrur Alex and her dam is PTL Scarlet. Talley passed her cat test with just a little initial curiosity. She seemed fine with the small dog she met too. She crates very well and is quiet in her kennel. She travels well and just got in our van and laid down and went to sleep. She is really sweet and seemed to like the small kids she met. More as we get to know her. |

Sweet Senior! Kwanza was a super star when he was racing. He was the Winner of the 2010 Wheeling WVGOBA Middle Distance Championship and placed 3rd in the 2010 Tri-State WVGOBA Open Sprint. He raced 80 races at Tri-State and Wheeling winning at the top A and AA levels and competing in many Stakes races reserved for the best racers at those tracks. He was retired from racing in December of 2011 and has been at his owners farm since then. He had to have a toe amputated on his front foot at some point which is pretty common in pet greyhounds if they dislocate or break a toe. It is long healed and isn't even noticeable unless you are counting toes. Since the painful toe was removed there is nothing there to cause pain and he can run and play normally. Kwanza did sire one litter of pups back in 2015 but they weren't great racers like he was, so it doesn't look like he sired any more pups after that. He has been just hanging out at the farm as a pet until now. Kwanza raced at 72lbs and is short and stocky. His sire is Larking About and his dam is Myokie Flame. We already placed two half sisters Rico's Tignanello and Rico's By A Nose (also same mom). Kwanza will turn 11 on January 31st. Since Kwanza is a senior guy over 8 he qualifies for our reduced adoption fee of $250. Kwanza passed his cat tests with some initial interest that only lasted until the cat slapped him. Then we couldn't pull him back to the cat. We think he would be easily trainable with a confident cat. Kwanza walks perfectly on a loose leash and doesn't pull. He gets along really well with other greyhounds. He has been completely vetted and had a dental and a few tooth extractions. Kwanza was placed in an adoptive home in October but has been returned due to having accidents in the house. Our vet checked him and he just has a urinary tract infection, which is being treated with antibiotics. He will be available for adoption after our vet has retested to make sure he is clear of infection. Kwanza is a bit of a marker due to living on a farm his entire life and being able to potty whenever and wherever he wanted to. He will need training and supervision in any new place to learn where he is allowed to go. |

Maddy just arrived from Celtic Hounds Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She is a small black female that raced at 57lbs and will turn 3 on September 1st. She raced 48 races and the only race she ever won was her very first one. She placed enough at the lowest D level to keep running for awhile though. Maddie's sire is Flying Fired up and her dam is Rock ABy Shu Shu. She is a very sweet friendly and happy girl. Gorgeous too with the glossy black coat that is just beautiful. Maddie loves hugs, cuddles and ear rubs. She walks great on leash and rides very well too. She passed her cat and small dog tests too. |

Theo just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. He only raced 5 races there and managed to win one of those and place in all of the others so was getting off to a good start. His last race was October 20th and he was at the track since then. Most likely was being rehabbed from a minor injury that happened in his last race in hopes he could return safely to racing but when that didn't happen he was finally retired. Theo raced at 69lbs and turned 2 on Jan 9th. His sire is TMC's Remedy and his dam is Braska Faver. Bison likes to stand up and see where he is going in the car and would love to be allowed to drive. He will climb into your lap if given a chance. He is a very friendly happy velcro dog that loves people. More as we get to know him |

Fox came in initially from the CTW kennel in Wheeling WV. He is a cute little red male that raced at 69lbs. He turned 5 on September 18th. His sire is CTW Base Camp and his Dam is CTW Melodramatic. Fox is a calm, quiet male. He is pretty good on leash and well behaved. He is a happy sweet boy that should be an easy addition to any family. So handsome too. He is doing great with the small white italian Greyhound in his foster home and was afraid of the cat he met and wouldn't go near it. Fox travels very well and just gets in the car and lays down calmly. He is very snuggly and loves people. After being in an adoptive home for nearly two years Fox mistook an outside cat for a bunny or a squirrel and killed it, so is now looking for another home. We stress to adopters that no greyhound should ever be trusted outside with cats because they could mistake a cat in the bushes for something else. Greyhounds are only good with indoor kitties and shouldn't ever be around outside cats. Fox is still fine with indoor kitties but because of this mistake he has to find a home with no cats at all. |

Eugene just arrived from a Florida farm where he has been living since he retired from racing in March of 2018. He raced mainly at the lower levels but did get up to B level a few times in his 57 races. He raced most of his career at D'Arcy Kennels at Derby Lane, but also raced briefly at Gulf. Most 4 year olds would have a lot more races. Eugene was taken out of racing for a year from December 5th of 2016 and not put back into racing until Nov of 2017 after a collision and fall in a race. He went back and had 15 more races after his year long break. Eugene is a gorgeous 71lb black male. He is the sweetest, most gentle boy, that gives kisses to humans and other dogs alike when he meets them. He passed his cat test easily and has been fine with a small dog too. He likes kids and everyone else he meets. He pulls on leash some, curiously checking things out. He is a calm guy in the house though and very well behaved. He crates really well but does whine sometimes, so probably wouldn't be quiet enough for townhouse or apartment living. At the track, some of the other boys would bully him and he didn't even defend himself. His track trainers ended up always turning him out with one or two other gentle boys like him, rather than with the larger pack of more rowdy males. Eugene will turn 4 on September 26th. His Sire is Makeshift and his dam is Celtic Dream. |

Quirky came in from the Birmingham Track Adoption Kennel. He was a good racer there racing most of his 178 races at the top A level. He is a larger guy that raced at 80lbs. He will turn 8 on December 15th. His sire is an Irish import Ballymac Flight* and his dam is BD's Harper. Quirky did not pass his cat test so needs a home with no kitties. He did respond OK to the small dog he was tested with and realized quickly that it was a dog and not a bunny. Quirky's was initially fostered in a townhouse and was very quiet in his crate there. He was briefly in another apartment home and complained about being left there, so may not be a great apartment dog. He is a very easy, calm guy that would be great for a first time greyhound owner. He is a sweet guy that loves people. Great personality! Quirky has been in a home for 4 years. For a couple years he was living as an only dog, then they adopted another male greyhound, Ryan. Both boys were recently returned to us by because his family decided that they no longer wanted to have dogs. They said it absolutely was not a problem with either of the dogs, they were good dogs. We had a home wanting to adopt two bonded dogs together, so Ryan and Quirky are being fostered by her and will stay permanently if all goes well. |

Ryan inititally came in from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He is a cute white boy with brindle patches over his ears and eyes and a patch on his side. He is a smaller guy that raced at 64lbs. He just turned 5 on May 3rd. His sire is Flying Westover and his dam is A Bar Seclusion. He raced 47 races at Tri State in WV and Sanford Orlando before he retired. Ryan is very outgoing and sweet. He wasn't bothered at all by the move from the track and adapted quickly to home life. He seems pretty easy going and confident. Ryan was adopted in 2016 by a family and has lived with them for 2 years. They recently decided they didn't want the responsibility of dogs anymore and returned Ryan along with his housemate Quirky. They said the dogs were very good and it wasn't anything the dogs did wrong that caused them to be returned, they just didn't want dogs anymore. Fortunately we had a home looking for two dogs to adopt together so both boys have been moved to her. They will stay with her permanently if all goes well. |

Sally just arrived from the Blanchard Kennel at the Orange Park Race track. She never actually raced and just didn't do well in training so was retired. She is very young and won't even turn 2 until June 14th. She is a little gal that raced at 61lbs. Her sire is Pat C Clement and her dam is U Too Serena. We place another boy from an earlier litter from the same mom named Karl Malden. Sally is friendly and curious about everything. She was too curious about the cat and interested in chasing it so needs a home with no kitties. She seemed fine with the small white dog in her first foster home and really liked the toddlers she met there as well. Sally is a very sweet little girl. More as we get to know her. |

Liv just arrived with her brother Surprise. She raced at the Bolton Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She only had 5 races and finished toward the back of the pack in all of them so was retired very young. She won't turn 2 until July 14th. Liv is a timid little girl that is pretty shy at first. Her trainers said that once she gets more comfortable she really wants to come up to you and interact but just can't seem to get the courage up sometimes. She will gradually warm up to her family but will just need some time. She is a small dark brindle girl that raced at 60lbs. Her sire is Pat C Sabbath and her dam is Livin Ona Prayer. Liv traveled well. She was not interested in the cats she met at all and is being fostered with cats. She wasn't sure of what to make of the toddlers she met and mostly just froze and turned her head away. Since she is shy she may do better in a quiet home with older kids. Young, loud, fast moving kids may be too much for her. More as we get to know her. |

Indescreet (yes is is actually spelled that way) just arrived from the Birmingham Race Course's adoption kennel. She actually raced her entire career of 102 races in Florida though. She raced at Palm Beach and Sanford Orlando race tracks. She just was sent to Birmingham because they transport a lot of dogs to adoption groups across the country. Indescreet got bumped in her last race and hurt the tendon in her back right leg and had a little swelling there when she first arrive with us at the end of December. She hurt herself on November 30th. Indiscreet is a cute, happy, brindle girl with a tiny white stripe on her nose. She raced at 62lbs and turned 3 on July 3rd. Her sire is Fortified Power and her dam is Constant Dream. Indescreet passed her cat test easily without interest. She also passed her small dog test. She is very friendly and seemed to like everyone she met including children. She kenneled quietly and nicely when she arrived and traveled well on the trip over. |

Special Senior! GIgi initially retired from the Tri State Track in WV after just 20 races. She never won one of those races. She retired way back in Jan of 2012 and was placed in an adoptive home at some point but were weren't able to find any info on that. We were just able to find her racing record on the international racing database using her ear tattoos. Gigi was found 3 years ago running loose in NC. The person that found her just kept her when no one claimed her. The family that found her just contacted us about rehoming her because they could no longer keep her. Gigi is a sweet senior so qualifies for our reduced adoption fee of $250. She turned 9 on October 31st. Her sire is Freeride Rebel and her dam is UMR Ms Beulai. She has been checked over by our vet, got a fresh dental and a clean bill of health. More as we get to know her. |

Duke just arrived from the track adoption kennel that takes retirees from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. He raced all of his 113 races at Orange Park. Duke was a fantastic racer that ran and won at the top A level. He competed in quite a few Stakes races reserved for the best racers at the track. His sire is the famous SH Avatar and his dam is Nisei. Duke turned 3 on June 22nd. He raced at 72lbs. He is a friendly guy that doesn't seem to be stressed out by much. He is very curious about things and needs a little work on leash because he wants to go check out everything new. He passed his first cat test with only a little initial interest in sniffing the cat. After a slap from the cat he didn't want to get near it again and quickly decided to check out everything else in the room. He was placed briefly in a home with cats but he had a completely different reaction to those cats and wanted to chase them so although he seems OK with some cats he meets he probably should go to a home without kitties. He did well with the small dog he met so should be OK in a home with small dogs. He really liked the toddlers he met as well. He seemed to travel well and walked right across shiny wood floors with no problem. He is a beautiful, unusual, black brindle - mostly black with a little golden/orange striping. |

Charger raced at 73lbs so is a mid sized male greyhound. His sire is the famous KC and All and his dam is JB's Powerplan. Charger is an outgoing, happy guy. He will turn 4 on June 26th. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily and was actually a bit afraid of a 5 lbs kitten and backed away when the kitten approached. Charger has been adopted and renamed Jack by his new family. |

Dust just arrived from the Celtic Hounds Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced 56 races mainly at the lower levels but did win a few races. He raced at 78lbs and will turn 3 on May 9th. His sire is Golden Squire and his dam is Ready Set Gone. We are also getting his sister Wheel House. Dust is a happy, outgoing, active guy that is a lot of fun. He passed his cat and small dog tests with little interest in either after the first few sniffs. He was more interested in exploring and checking everything out. A real curious boy. He can be vocal so probably will not be an apartment or townhouse dog. We also got Dust's sister My Wheel House from the came kennel. |

Rainman just arrived from Blanchard Kennel at Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. He is a big black pup that never raced so doesn't have an official race weight but we would guess him to be around 80lbs. He won't turn two until March 5th so is a young guy. His sire is Vee Man Vane and his dam is Superior Samba. He seems like a friendly, happy guy. He pulls some on leash wanting to go check out everything so needs a little work on that. He rode well with the other dogs. More as we get to know him. He is not a marker and didn't even want to pee on trees and bushes on a walk. He may need a fenced yard since he didn't seem interested in taking care of his business while on leash. Rainman loves kids and is being fostered with kids. He also did fine with the small dogs he met. He was pretty interested in the cats he met though so needs a home with no kitties. He is a very good boy that is very sweet and doing really well in foster care. He probably is not a going to be a good choice for apartment living because he has been a little loud sometimes in his kennel. |

Surprise just arrived with his sister Liv from the Celtic Hounds Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race track. He is a 75lb black boy that is very young. He won't turn 2 until July 14th. He only raced 4 races and finished all of those at the back of the pack. He was retired young after coming up with a slightly sore shoulder after his 4th race. Surprise traveled well and seems pretty calm so far for a young guy. He sniffed the cats he met curiously but never tried to harm them, so even though he is curious we think he is very trainable. He is being fostered with a kitty so he will get used to being around them. He was very good with the small dog he was introduced to and is being fostered with a pug. His sire is Pat C Sabbath and his dam is Livin Ona Prayer. Surprise potties nicely on leash so doesn't require a fenced yard. He just whined a little the first night and then was quiet so may be a good choice for apartment living. He does fine on wood and shiny floors. |

Praise just arrived from the Celtic Hounds Kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race track. She is a pretty little black female that raced at 60lbs. Praise turned 4 on September 12th and she is the shiniest glossy coat. She raced 130 races mostly at the lower levels but did get up to B and even A level briefly. Her sire is P's Gibbs and her dam is MRL Booby Trap. Praise rode well on the trip back from the vet and after a couple a whines settled down quietly in her crate by herself. She was just a little overwhelmed when she first arrived but seems like she warms up quickly. She is waggy and will give gentle hugs pretty fast. She seems like she is a happy bouncy girl that is going to be a lot of fun. She passed her cat test without any interest and was fine with the small dog she met too. She wasn't sure what to make of the toddlers she met but wasn't shying away from them and was fine with them petting her. More as we get to know her. |

Molly originally came to us from the Sanford Orlando race track years ago. She started out racing in Abilene, then went to Derby Lane, and Palm Beach, before going to Orlando. Her owners hoped to find a track that she would be competitive at. She only won one race and finished last or close to last in most of her races so was retired after only 26 races. Molly was adopted right after she retired in 2012 and has been living in their home since. Due to a schedule change they are gone more than before and don't have time for her anymore, so have decided to rehome Molly. Her family feels like she would do better in a quiet home without small loud kids. They say she gets stressed around children. She has been living as an only dog but doesn't like being home alone for long periods so she may do better with a doggy friend she can hang out with. Molly passed her cat test at the track and is being fostered with small dogs. She is a light brindle female that raced at 60lbs, Her birthdate is 9/1/2010 so she is 8. Molly qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $250. She is timid at first so you should let her come to you. She enjoys sunbathing and walks. She does not like traveling or going for rides. She has never gotten up on the furniture. She is very dramatic and will scream if her legs are touched. She has never really played with toys and is a very calm girl that likes to lay around. Her sire is CTW Legendary and her dam is Seagold Jane. |

Thinkin just arrived from the farm she was raised on in Florida. She raced her entire career of 124 races at Orange Park in Florida. She was pretty good getting up to A level. She was retired from racing in May of 2017 and went back to the farm to become a mom. She was bred once but missed. After the vote to end racing in Florida she was not re-bred, so never got to have any pups. Now she is officially retired from mom duties too. Thinkin's sire is the famous Fuzzys Cannon and her dam is CTW Anti Gravity. Thinkin is a very friendly, happy girl. She was very high energy when young but has calmed down some now that she is over 5 years old. She is still pretty active for a 5 year old greyhound. She rides well, crates well and is good on leash. She seemed to like the toddlers she met and was very gentle when greeting them. She was also fine with the small dog she was around. Thinkin was curious about the cat and followed it around and sniffed and sniffed it, but never tried to hurt it. The cat finally slapped Thinkin for sniffing too much and she wouldn't get near the cat again. Although overly curious at first, she should be very trainable with a confident cat. She is being fostered with cats and is doing very well with them. Thinkin is a very nice, outgoing girl that is going to be a great pet. |

Own it just arrived from trainer Kathi Lacasse at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He is a young guy that was too slow in training and just couldn't keep up so he never actually had an official race. He won't turn 2 until July 1st of next year. His sire is Pat C Sabbath and his dam is JT's Pat Benatar. Own it doesn't have a racing weight since he never raced but we would guess him to be in the mid 70s. He is a friendly friendly happy guy that didn't seem too worried about all the changes in his life. Own it passed his small dog test easily so we are hopefully he won't want to chase kitties either. Really sweet boy. He started out wanting to help drive by getting into the front seat. He settled down fast and laid down for the rest of the trip though so travels really well. He slept all night quietly in his crate the first night in his foster home and only whined when he needed to go outside the next day. He seems like a really nice easy going guy for one so young. |

Wally just arrived from the Birmingham Track Adoption Kennel. He was sent there from the Daytona Beach Race Track because they transport dogs to adoption groups all over the country. He only had 16 races and won 5 of those so was pretty good. He had an injury in April and was kept and rehabbed in hopes that he would be able to return to racing. That didn't happen so was just officially retired. We haven't seen any sign of any injury, so he is long healed. Wally is a sweet guy that didn't show any interest in the cats he met during his cat test. He is in a foster home with cats and started showing some interest in chasing them so the jury is still out on if he will be OK to live with cats. He liked the toddlers he met. More as we get to know him. |

Jojo just arrived from the Southern New England Kennel at the Birmingham Race Course. His adoption was pre arranged by one of our families, that waited for him to retire, so he isn't available at this time. Jojo raced 166 races mainly at the C and B levels but did get up to A level briefly one time. He raced his entire career at Birmingham. He is a small male that raced at 66lbs. He turned 4 on August 6th. His sire is DK's Prime Time and his dam is Designers Choice. Jojo does have a pretty high prey drive and was too interested in kitties during his cat test but corrected. He would look away and behave with a correction from a person and stayed away from the cat after a slap. He did get interested again later though. He may be trainable if he was around cats for awhile, but his foster home has no cats so we think it would be best to place him in a home with no cats. He was similar with a small dog and was interested at first when it would run around but he quickly calmed down and lost interest once he realized it was just a dog. His foster home has a small italian greyhound and he has gotten used to seeing it running around, so we think he is trainable with small dogs with plenty of supervision at first. Jojo is a sweet, happy, friendly guy. He is adjusting fast and seems to be a smart boy that wants to please. He figured out how to get out of a wire crate that wasn't very sturdy and now is in a sturdier one that has proved to be escape proof. Even when he was out unsupervised he had no accidents in the house and didn't get into anything. Seems like he is a very good boy. He makes a very high pitched whistle sound when he whines and even his bark is very high pitched. He sounds like a tiny dog rather than a greyhound. |

Cooper is a 5 year old guy that raced at Daytona Beach, Sarasota, Flagler and Dubuque. He wasn't very fast so was moved from track to track in hopes of finding one that he could be competitive at. He raced 87 races at the lowest levels and ended his career at Daytona Beach in January of 2017. Cooper was initially placed through another adoption group that was in the process of shutting down. He was returned to that group by his first adopter after being in a home for about a year in January of 2018. Then he was in foster care for nearly another year. The group reached out to us to place him, since they had shut down. Cooper is a large 79lbs brindle greyhound. He is pretty energetic for a 5 year old and loves to go for walks and jogs. His foster mom was taking him on 3 mile walks every day with her. He does have a pretty high prey drive so needs a home with no cats and no tiny dogs that look like bunnies. He is fine with larger dogs and greyhounds. He is in a foster home with older kids and is fine with them and likes them. He can be a little grumpy about his space so needs a home without small kids that wouldn't understand that. He loves to be up on the beds and couches. He likes to play with toys and is a happy guy. He is a very confident guy that can be a bit dramatic when he doesn't get what he wants or is asked to do something he doesn't want to do. He just turned 5 on November 24th. His sire is Kiowa Mystic Job and his dam is Kiowa Trey Tatoo. He wasn't crated in his former foster home but has been learning to crate again since he arrived with us. He is very good on leash. |

Dalton just arrived from the Ocala Kennel at the Orange Park Race Track. He was a star racer there and raced most of his125 races at the top A level. He raced in a lot of stakes races, that are for the top racers at that track, so he was one of the best. Dalton just turned 3 on November 26th and raced at 69lbs so is a mid to small sized male. His sire is the famous Soprano Drive and his dam is Dutch Cami. Dalton seemed to like the kids he met and greeted them calmly. He also did great with the cats and small dog he met. He seems like a calm friendly guy so far that is very well behaved. He road well on the trip up to the vet and put his head on the shoulder of the driver the entire trip. That earned him a new home with their family. |

LeLonnie is a sweet brood mom that had at least one litter of puppies after she retired from racing. She was a good racer starting out her career at Palm Beach, then moving on to Orange Park. She went to Wheeling in WV from there to race. She retired after 166 races in March of 2015 and went back to the farm to be a mom. She had a litter of 5 in September of 2015 that is racing now, but no other litters have been registered yet. There are likely to be others that are too young to register though. Lelonnie is a very friendly sweet girl that gets along very well with other dogs. She loves adults and children. She raced at 64lbs and turned 8 on May 2nd. Her sire is Lonesome Cry and her dam is Breezing Easy. Lelonnie did not pass her cat test but she seemed fine with a small white dog she met. LeLonnie's foster mom says she is settling in exceptionally well to home life. She is laid back and very easy so would be a great first or 4th greyhound. Exciting news! We are working on getting one of her sons that just retired from racing!! Because she is a senior Lelonnie qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $250. |

That was October 17th and she is doing great now. Star is a small girl that raced at only 57lbs. She turned 2 on February 27th. She did not pass her cat test so needs a home without them. She did do fine with a small dog she met though. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Flying Wikipedia. Star seemed a little overwhelmed at first but was still pretty friendly. She liked the kids she met. More as we get to know her. |

Kylee Jo retired from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL over a year ago and has been in an adoptive home since September of 2017. She is looking for another home because her family is too busy to give her the attention they would like to. They are gone a lot and Kylee Jo has some separation anxiety. She is fine when they leave if she is crated, but that means she has to stay in her crate for long periods of time. She may do better in a home with another dog or with a family who has someone that his home most of the time, so she isn't completely alone all day. Kylie Jo is a 63 lb red female that turned 3 on September 19th. She raced 24 races but only won 2 of those early on so was retired young. Her sire is Flying Coal City and her dam is Chasmo's Ginger. Kylee Jo passed her cat and small dog tests without much interest in either. She lived with a cat in her previous home and is being fostered with small dogs now. She has been living with a 2 year old toddler and likes her and is great with her most of the time. She has gotten annoyed enough to growl a couple of times though, so may do better in a home with older kids that require as much supervision with dogs and know how to act around dogs. Kylee Jo is a very sweet girl that is very friendly and loves every new person that comes to her house. She loves her ears rubbed and will chatter her teeth in happiness. When she goes to the greyhound playgroups she would rather stand with the people getting petted than run around with the other dogs. She loves going for walks and is good on leash. This is a happy, waggie girl that has the biggest, prettiest eyes. She does sometimes fuss and whine in her crate when she is left so would not be a good choice for an apartment or townhouse. |

Toby just arrived from the Birmingham Race Course. He was a great racer and was a 2016 Orange Park BestBet Puppy Stakes Finalist. He raced most of his 194 races at Orange Park at the top A level. He finished up his career in Birmingham. He is a very friendly, happy guy. He raced at 69lbs and turned 4 on August 1st. His sire is WW's Cowboys and his dam is WW's Shamrock. Toby was quite interested in the first cat he met until the cat slapped him. He did not want to get near the cat again after that. He is being fostered with cats and has completely left them alone so he is very trainable. He did fine with a small dog he saw and really liked the kids he met too. He seems like he has a lot of personality and is going to be a fun guy. Toby has been very quiet in his kennel so far, so may be a good choice for apartment living. |

Foolish Pleasure was named for a great race horse. He wasn't as famous as the horse, but he was pretty good, racing most of his career of 100 races at the top A level and competing in a couple of Stakes races reserved for the best racers at the track. His last race at the Palm Beach Race track was back in August and he won it. Since he stopped racing even though he was winning, that is usually a sign that there was a minor injury. It looks like they hoped he would return to racing after a few months off, but that didn't happen, so he was eventually retired and sent to the Birmingham Alabama Race Track adoption program to be transported to adoption groups. He seems fine now. Foolish Pleasure raced at 73lbs and turned 3 on April 25th. His sire is NMS Sweet Thing and his dam is from Australia, Manyara Bale*. Foolish Pleasure passed his cat test without any interest. He also was very good with the small dog he met. He seems like a calm sensitive guy. A little overwhelmed by all the changes. He is sweet and walks up to people for attention when out of his kennel or on leash. He backs up nervously if you reach for him when he is in his kennel. He didn't shy away from the small kids he met when on leash. He is just a little timid at first and seems like he will warm up fast. More as we get to know him. |

Jewel is a rare very young greyhound puppy that came to us from a greyhound farm with her sister Belle. They decided not to tattoo, register or race the litter and just pet them out. They were born on 10/31/18. When they are old enough they will be spayed by Hilltop Animal Hospital in Evans GA. They both came in for a family and will be staying together. |

Steve came in from a kennel at the Sarasota Race track. He only raced 20 races and only won one of those so he was retired young. Steve turned 2 on January 6th. He is an adorable little guy that raced at just 64lbs, which is really small for a boy. He has the cutest, unusual for a greyhound, roman nose! His sire is TK Quick Strike and his dam is Oh Yeah Baby. Steve was too interested in chasing the cats to be able to live with kitties. He was great with a small white dog he met though. Since he has arrived Steve has been really friendly and happy but his trainer says that he is a sensitive guy that has just a bit of a timid side to him occasionally. He wanted to help drive at first, then settled down and went to sleep on the trip up and didn't seem shy or timid at all. Steve seems like he will be a playful, fun guy but only for short spurts. He loves to lay around most of the day and is calm for a young guy. He likes the kids in his foster home and is very well behaved. What a great guy and so cute!! Steve was adopted briefly by a trucker and was great with life on the road for for the first month or so. He seemed to be happiest when they stopped and he stayed home so he is looking for another home where he doesn't have to travel as much. He is a wonderful traveler, he just doesn't want to be on the road all the time. |

Ali just arrived from the Blanchard Kennel at Orange Park Race Track in Florida. She also raced at Dubuque in IA and Naples Ft Myers in FL. She raced 121 races and was good, getting up to A level and competing in a couple of Stakes races. Her sire is the famous KC and All and her dam is Boc's Snow Queen. Ali turned 4 on Nov 14th and raced at 60bs. She is a light fawn with a blue instead of black nose and blue on her ears. Ali is a cute little girl with a very sweet friendly personality. She traveled well. When she had her vetting our vet discovered that she has an erratic heartbeat that slows down dangerously when under anesthesia. She will need very careful vetting with only very skilled greyhound vets any time she is put under for the rest of her life. Ali did not pass her cat test. She was much too interested in getting the cat. Once the cat slapped her she did stop and didn't want to get near that cat again, so could possibly be trainable with the right cat. Due to her initial excitement level about the cat, we think it would be safer to put her in a home with no kitties though. She seemed fine with a small 15lb Italian greyhound she met and didn't even get up off her bed when he came in the room. Ali liked the small kids she met. Ali's foster home has decided that they want to keep her. Updated Description! After spending almost a year with our Director, she has made the difficult decision to let her find a home better matched to her personality. Alice was a very successful racer and has a natural dominant personality which would be fine under most circumstances. It caused an issue with the other female in their home, however, that continued to be a problem long-term. Alice is a wonderful, quirky girl with a lot of interesting funny bits to her big personality. She will be devoted and bonded to her new family but needs to be the only female in her household. There were no issues at all with her more submissive and laid back male housemates or the foster dogs moving in and out for adoption. She loves to travel, never meets a stranger, and her family hated to make this decision. Someone is going to love this girl! |

Lazarus is a light fawn male that only has 2 races listed at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced at 76lbs. He was retired young and was initially adopted in early 2014 before he even turned 2. He lived in that home for over a year before they gave him to a friend. He has been in the second home since. Lazarus now called Bug, is now looking for another home at 6 years old due to his family moving to Hawaii. Lazarus turned 6 on May 4th. His sire is the famous Flying Penske and his dam is Kelsos Isabella. Lazarus is a very calm guy that is quiet and well behaved. Very sweet. He did pass his cat and small dog test so should be able to live in a home with cats or small dogs. He can be a little timid with new people he meets but warmed up to his families quickly. He lived with a baby in his first home. His current home says he likes kids when he meets them. Since he can be a little timid he may not enjoy being around loud rowdy young kids long term. Most timid dogs like more quiet relaxed homes. |

His sire is the famous Dragon Fire and his dam is Soft Trent who we placed earlier this year. Kapow with turn 4 on Jan 18th. He is a friendly guy that passed his cat and small dog tests easily. More as we get to know him. |

Mocha just arrived from the Palm Beach Race Track. She only had two official races and fell in her first one and finished last in her second one. She was slow so was retired young. Mocha is a small girl that raced at 57lbs. She just turned 2 on December 1st. Her sire is Odd Skill and her dam is a girl that we placed named Rico's Tignanello. Mocha is actually being fostered with her mom. Mocha was pretty interested in the cats that she saw at the vet's office so her foster home will work with her with their cats to see if she can live with them. She is a happy, outgoing, bouncy girl that loves everyone she meets. Very sweet girl that traveled really well too. More as we get to know her. |

Ticket just arrived from Florida but doesn't have any official races at a track there. He actually raced at Southland in Arkansas and only raced at total of 42 races. Ticket will turn 4 on December 15th and raced at 75lbs. He was very fast, getting up to A level at Southland and even competing in a Stakes race. Ticket looks like he had a minor injury in January of 2017 and was given a break from racing until April of 2017. He only raced one race in April and finished 5th in that race. He must have re-injured himself in that race, because he didn't race again for almost a year. He started back racing in February of 2018. He never returned to his previous speed and only won one race at the lowest D level. He mostly finished toward the back of the pack in his next 13 races. Whatever injury he had, healed up very well, to allow him to go back to racing at the fastest track. He was moved to a lower level track in Florida in hopes he would be a winner there. He never actually raced there and the decision was made recently to retire him. Ticket seems like a calm, friendly guy. He traveled well on the trip up. He passed his cat test easily with barely a sniff. He is very quiet in his kennel and is good on leash. Ticket's sire is the famous Flying Penske and his dam is Kelsos Uptosnuff. |

Special Needs! Eight just arrived from a farm in Florida. His sire is Irish - Definate Opinion and his dam is Drop Top. Eight is a very small guy at just 65lbs. He failed out of racing training so never completed the registration process and never got a registered name. He is very young and won't even turn 2 until May 25th. After we got him into a new environment, we discovered that he was feeling and sniffing his way along and appeared to have very limited vision. So the reason he didn't chase the lure was because he couldn't see it. Our vet checked Eight's eyes and found he can see light and dark but definitely has very limited vision. Our vet was not able to make a definitive diagnosis with the equipment she had. Eight's eyes are clear and look fine. They don't bother him or cause him any pain. Our vet said this isn't likely to be something that can be reversed. Eight gets around amazingly well once he learns his surroundings. His lack of eyesight is most noticeable when he is in an unfamiliar place. Dogs have such sensitive noses and use them so much that they are able to smell their way around their environment very quickly. Eight is doing great in foster care and is turning into a snuggler that wants affection. In just a few days he got comfortable enough in the house to play with toys. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily and is living with both in his foster home. He was appropriate with the toddlers he met and greeted them calmly and didn't shy away but didn't seek them out either. Eight also had to have both of his lower canines removed at our vet because they were not aligned right and were poking into his gums causing pain. He is on soft food now but he will be able to eat regular dog food after his mouth heals up. Eight has the most beautiful glossy coat and is a real stunner and so sweet. |

Kiki just arrived from the Orange Park Race track in Florida. She also raced at Naples Ft Myers and the Flagler tracks. Kiki raced a total of 85 races in her career and raced at 62lbs. She turned 3 on June 9th. Her sire is the famous Djays Octane and her dam is U Too Kiara. Kiki is a very friendly, happy, bouncy girl that loves everyone she meets. She travels well. Kiki is very quiet in her kennel so may be a good choice for apartment or townhome living. She passed her small dog test with no interest at all. More as we get to know her. |

Steppin Out just arrived from trainer Kathi LaCasse at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She raced 118 races and also raced at Naples Ft Myers FL, Dubuque IA, and Southland in Arkansas. She got up to A level at a couple of those tracks so was pretty good. Steppin Out's sire is Flyin Man of God and her dam is SE's Tali Aspen. She raced at 62lbs and turned 4 on July 30th. She is an outgoing happy girl that travels well. Steppin Out was too interested in chasing kitties to be able to live with them. We thought she may be trainable at first because she did back off when the cat slapped her but when the cat moved she got too excited again. So she needs a home with no kitties. She did fine with the 15lb Italian greyhound she met though and is being fostered with dogs that size. More as we get to know her. |

Magic just arrived from trainer AJ Grant at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced most of his 102 races there. He also raced some races at Southland in Arkansas. Magic was a good racer getting up to A level at Orlando. He will turn 4 on December 7th and raced at 74lbs. Magic is very unusual because he has a pink nose instead of a black nose like most greyhounds. Very unique and very cute. His sire is KC and All and his dam is Norah Jones. Magic passed his cat and small dog tests easily so should be able to live with either. He has liked the kids he has met too. Magic was a little overwhelmed by all the changes at first but is figuring everything out pretty fast. New things like ceiling fans are a little scary. He walks very nicely on leash and is quiet in his kennel. He is great on stairs and went up and down with no problem from the start. He is a pretty friendly guy that just needs a little time to get used to a new environment. |

Express just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Florida. She also raced some of her 124 races at Derby Lane in Florida and just a few at Wheeling Downs in WV. She got up to the top A level a couple of times but mainly raced at the lower levels. Express is a very friendly happy girl that gives kisses to just about everyone she meets. She is a natural sitter which is unusual for a greyhound. Most just aren't comfortable in that position and choose to stand or lay down instead. Express will drop into a sit often and seems quite comfortable though. Her sire is the famous Kiowa Myth and her dam is Flying Hall. Express turned 3 on March 6th. She passed her cat test without any interest when they were still, when they moved she was interested but wouldn't actually go up to them again. She was was tested with a black cat and a tabby cat - both short haired. Later she was more interested in a white long haired cat roaming the vet's office so seems like she would do best in a home with short haired cats only. She did fine with the small 15lb white Italian Greyhound she met. She loved the toddlers she met and gave them kisses and really seemed to like children. More as we get to know her. |

Edward just arrived from trainer AJ Grant at the Sanford Orlando Race track. He is an extra large male that raced at 82lbs. He is a stocky guy that is all muscle. He also raced some of his 114 races at Southland. He was pretty fast getting up to B level at Southland, which is a very tough track. He got up to A level once he moved to Orlando. Edward's litter are all named for characters in the Netflix series House of Cards. We also placed his littermates Doug Stamper, Frank Underwood, Heather Dunbar, and Skorsky. Edward turned 4 on October 29th. His sire is the famous KC and All and his dam is D's Honey Badger. Edward traveled well and kennels very well. He was friendly, playful and happy at the racing kennel, but has been a little unsure of himself since he has arrived. He is pretty friendly with adults, but was afraid of the kids he met and would shy away from them, so we think he would do better in a home without young kids. He did pass his cat test and just gave the cat a casual sniff and walked off. He also was fine with the small 15lb dog he met. So far Edward has been very calm, well behaved and sweet. |

Beckham just arrived from the Lester Raines Kennel at Orange Park in Jacksonville Florida. He is a young fawn male that preferred to play instead of race so was retired with no official races. Since he has no races listed he doesn't have an official racing weight but he weighed about 71lbs at the vet. He is a tall boy and will probably put on a few more lbs in retirement and be a larger male. His sire is Counselor and his dam is CTW Rosemary. He was born on a beautiful farm in Texas. Beckham celebrated his 2nd birthday on the day he arrived with us November 1. He is a very outgoing guy that is playful and silly. He still has a lot of puppy in him. He seems like he is a pretty smart boy because he figured out how to escape from a wire crate. He is in a plastic vari style crate now that works best for the houdini types. Beckham doesn't seem to be phased by much. He likes everyone he meets. He is curious about everything new and wants to sniff or taste it and is willing to climb up to get it so will need some work on manners. Beckham can be noisy in his crate so wouldn't be a good apartment or townhouse dog. He was too interested in the cat when he was tested so needs a home with no kitties. He is being fostered with a small Italian Greyhound and was also fostered with an older bassett hound so should be OK with smaller dogs. He spends a lot of time trying to convince other dogs to play with him and would do best with a playful dog that would enjoy that type of thing. He loved the small toddlers he met and kept going back to them to kiss them every chance he got. Beckham is an adorable pup with a big personality that is going to be a lot of fun. |

Loki just arrived from the Orange Park Race track in Florida, where he raced most of his career of 88 races. He also raced briefly at Southland in Arkansas. Loki was good and got up to the top A level and even competed in one stakes race. He raced for Blanchard Kennel. Loki is an extra large male that raced at 88lbs. He turned 3 on August 9th. Loki's sire is the famous Craigie Whistler and his dam is TMC's Jaylowe. He was a kennel favorite and was encouraged to put his feet up on your shoulders to give gentle hugs-see his other pictures. He loves to give kisses too and is very outgoing and social. He is a big dog that is very strong and very curious. He pulls hard on leash and needs some work on leash manners. Loki is definitely a needle nose with a long overbite that makes his nose even longer than most. He passed his cat test easily. When he went up to sniff the cat he got slapped by the cat. He yelped and cried and nearly fell down trying to get away from the cat and wouldn't go back near that cat or any other after that. He loved the small kids he met, but is so big and bouncy that he may do better with kids that are a little older that he wouldn't accidentally knock down. Loki is a big guy with an extra large personality to match. |

Xander is a friendly, happy brindle guy that raced at 70lbs. He initially came in from the Mardi Gras Race Track. He also raced at Naples Ft Myers and Valley. He only raced 38 races but did win enough to get up to the top A level, so was pretty good. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is CTU Side Party. Xander's ears stay straight up a lot and one flips over his head sometimes, which just makes him stand out in a crowd and is very cute. He turned 3 on June 7th. Xander passed his cat test with just a little initial interest at first. After a thorough sniffing, he decided that there were more interesting things to sniff than the cat and totally lost interest. He also did fine with the small dog he met. Xander is a very confident guy that can be a bit pushy, so he needs a dog experienced home with a confident owner. He is a very happy guy that is curious about everything and not a bit shy. Xander has already been in a home for awhile. He crates when told, sleeps quietly alone all night and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He corrects easily with an ACK sound if he does anything he should not do. He is very smart and seems to learn quickly. We have him marked no kids because he has shown some grumpiness over his space when laying down. |
