Hot Dog came from the track adoption kennel in Jacksonville Florida and he raced at 67lbs. This is a friendly, happy, calm boy that has been very well behaved since he arrived in his foster home. He is a grinner and will happily grin up at you when happy or excited. He is a gorgeous black male with white socks and a white chest. Very flashy! Hot Dog was born Nov 17th 2005. He was a very successful racer that won a lot of races and raced a long time. He crates well and quietly so might be OK as an apartment or townhouse dog. His foster mom was sick recently and he layed right by her side the entire time watching over her. He is just so sweet! He is very good with children. This is a dog that was suggested to us as one that would be a good family dog because he has been around the children of his racing trainer often and was very good with them. Even though he is calm he does have a silly side and is likely to play bow to you trying to get you to play with him. The play only lasts for a little while because Hot Dog is a typical greyhound couch potoato. Hot Dog needs a home without cats. He has been fine with the small to medium sized dogs he has met at meet and greets. He loves to play with other dogs though so might do better in a home without very tiny dogs just because he might accidentally step on one when playing. Typically our non cat friendly dogs take months longer to adopt than our cat friendly ones. If you do not have cats please consider adopting one of our sweet non cat safe dogs like Hot Dog. |

Gavin is a gorgeous guy that turned 3 on Nov 4th. He raced at 76lbs. He is doing well in his foster home with the small dogs and cats there so would be excellent for a home with small animals. Gavin loves playing with toys and the other dogs in his foster home. Although he is very shy, he warmed up to his foster family quickly and is very loving with his foster family. His trainers at the racing kennels said that he became very affectionate once he got to know them too and was only very shy initially. We think that a home without young, noisy children would be better for Gavin because of his shyness. It is only because of his shyness, Gavin is such a sensitive, gentle guy that we are sure he would never harm anyone or anything. While he has warmed up to his foster family quickly, he still tends to run away from visitors and people he doesn't know, so a quiet home without a lot of visitors and activity would probably suit him best. Gavin is likely to always be a real homebody that will be nervous out of his comfort zone. New things just make him very nervous. Because timid dogs tend to bolt when scared Gavin's ideal home would have a safely fenced yard for him to play in. Gavin's shyness is caused by not being handled by new people and exposed to new things as a puppy during that brief socialization window. He was never abused in any way and actually was very attached to his trainers. Gavin wants his family to know that even if he gets nervous and runs away the first time he meets them, he has a lot of love to give if they will just give him a little time to come out of his shell. Gavin is SUCH a sweet, loveable guy and is just gorgeous. If you have patience and a little time Gavin will reward you with all of his love. This is such a sweet, gorgeous, well behaved boy! Be sure to click on his other pictures. He is very photogenic and his foster home has taken lots of pictures of him. |

At her most recent racing kennel they called her Gazelle, but at a previous racing kennel at another track they called her Monica. We will have to see which name she seems to know. She is a small girl that raced at 57lbs. She turned 3 on April 18th and is a brindle female that just retired from the Orlando race track because of a minor muscle pull which is completely healed now. While she was at the vet she got a leg caught in a dog run and had to have some additional stitches so is recovering from another injury now. She is not limping from her most recent injury but does have a small open spot on her leg that was not able to be stitched so that has to be healed over before she can be adopted. Monica is outgoing, sweet, and cute with enough playful energy to keep up with an active family. Kissy sounds and any attention at all will send her into wiggles of pure joy! This is a tiny little girl that LOVES everyone she meets! She is a Deerfield Site daughter. Here is an old photo that was taken of her last year at the track. New photos coming soon!! |

Toy just celebrated his 2nd birthday on March 7th. He is a brindle male with gorgeous golden eyes that raced at 76lbs. His Sire is Heart Rumble. He passed his cat and small dog tests at the Orlando track and has been fostered with a cat that he is fine with. Toy seems like he is just a bit shy at first but is one that will warm up fast. He has done well at meet and greets and is warming up. He seems to be fine with the kids that have been around him at meet and greets although he doesn't have children in his foster home. So far he has been a very good boy that will make an awesome pet. |

Molly is a gorgeous, red girl that is very friendly. Her sire is Gable Tobasco and her Dam is Bee Bee. Molly will celebrate her 4th birthday on June 23rd. She is a very tiny petite girl. Her trainers said she was sweet and well behaved at the track and she has been that way in foster care as well. Molly is good on leash and rarely pulls. She is sweet and friendly and always greets you with a wagging tail and is happy to see you even if she barely knows you. She is great at meet and greets calmly going from one person to another to greet them. At a recent meet and greet she curled up with her head on her foster dad's lap and went to sleep. This was at a very noisy convention center with a lot going on around her. She seems like she will be pretty comfortable in just about any situation. She has gotten along well with the other dogs in her foster home and seems to just have a sweet happy go lucky personality. This is one stunning girl too! She was too interested in chasing the cat to pass her cat test but has been OK with small dogs in two foster homes. Molly doesn't potty on leash well so must have a home with a fenced yard to potty in. She just needs a little privacy to do her business and needs to walk around a bit to find the perfect spot. This is a super sweet girl that will be a great pet. Because she is not cat safe Molly has been in foster care longer than others which is typical. If you don't have cats in your home please consider adopting one our non cat friendly dogs like Molly. |

Squirrel just arrived and is a white boy with a little brindle on his ears and two brindle patches on his back that look almost like wings. He is friendly, calm and sweet according to his trainers at the track. He will celebrate his 3rd birthday on May 20th. He ended up passing his cat test at the track on the second try but was interested in the cat the first time they met so we have him listed as cat trainable. Squirrel's sire is CTW Plaza Rio and he raced at 77lbs. Squirrel's foster family has fallen in love with him and decided to adopt him. Squirrely was a member of the Hounds of East Fairhaven and performed at the Georgia and Carolina Renaissance Festivals. He was taken from us too young when he got hit by a bolt of lighting that hit his house during a bad storm. He will be missed by all his fans. |

Adin is a small brindle female that raced at 57lbs. She passed her cat test at the track and has paid no attention to the cats or small dogs she has met since she arrived. The small dog in her foster home loves her and goes into her crate to lay beside her. She turns 4 on June 18th. Her sire is the famous Flying Stanley which makes her a half sister to quite a few sweet dogs that we have placed. Adin is happy, sweet and very outgoing and seems like she will be an energetic, fun greyhound. "Energetic" for a greyhound still is just short bursts of playfulness - just enough to be fun and cute. Greyhounds are really low energy couch potatoes. Adin is smart and level headed and has picked up potty training right away. She pulls some on leash in her happiness to see things and visit with everyone so we will be working on that. So far she has adjusted to her foster home quickly and has been the BEST foster! She gets along great with the other dogs, had no accidents inside, and has started playing with stuffed animals. Nothing seems to bother her and she does great at meet and greets and greets everyone happily. |

Nadia Comaneci is named for a very famous gymnast and was a good racer herself. She raced stakes races against some famous dogs like Pat the Hammer - a dog that we placed. Her birthday is September 22 2007 and her sire is Lonesome Cry. She raced at 68lbs so is a larger girl. Nadia has quickly settled in to life as a foster. She is a sweet happy friendly girl and is quickly becoming a favorite of her foster family. She loves toys especially stuffed animals that have squeakies in them. Nadia has crated quietly and has been very well behaved in the house and with the other dogs. She passed her cat and small dog tests so should be fine in a home with either and has been good with the children that she has met. Seems like a great little girl that would do great in just about any situation. |

Ally is really large racing at a very unusual (for a girl) 75lbs. That is considered pretty large even for a male. She is just a little timid initially but seems like she will warm up with time. She is friendly and wags but tends to get a little freaked out by fast movements and loud noises. Alibi seems to be a little more nervous around men than women at first. She will turn 4 on September 24th. Ally has the same mother as one of our recently adopted dogs, Intern, and her sire is the famous Flying Stanley which makes her a half sister quite a few dogs we have placed. She is doing great in her foster home and other than being a little nervous at first seems like she will be a great girl. |

Potzy raced in Florida at just 66lbs so he is a smaller male. He was a pretty successful racer that raced until nearly his 4th birthday, which was on October 7th. Potzy is very cute, mostly white with a few brindle patches and some freckles in his white fur. Potzy passed his cat test but was a little interested in the cat at first so will need some supervision with new cats at first. He passed his small dog test and is living in a foster home with dogs and cats. He is a friendly, happy guy that is very devoted to people and wants to be with his family doing whatever they are doing. He isn't shy or nervous and is very outgoing and loving. Potzy has great house manners and picked up on potty training without a problem. Potzy doesn't like his crate much and is vocal when left in one so would not be the best choice for an apartment or townhouse. He has been quiet and well behaved when left out of crate, even by himself. |

Cheyenne is a beautiful, brindle female that raced at 60lbs. She was born on June 8th 2008 so is 3.5 years old. Cheyenne is another daughter of the famous Dodgem By Design. She is a very sweet, friendly, loving girl. Cheyenne quickly became a very well behaved member of her foster home's pack. She is very bright and learns new tricks and routines with ease. She crates quietly and doesn't whine or bark in her crate so may be OK in an apartment or townhouse. Cheyenne is not a total couch potato like some greyhounds and does have enough energy to be a fun, playful girl that will want to do whatever you are doing. Because she learns quickly and wants to please and has some energy we think she would be a great greyhound for agility or obedience or maybe someone that hikes, walks or jogs. She would do great with another dog that wanted a playmate. She is such a loving, happy girl and likes kids so should make a great family dog. Because of her higher prey drive Cheyenne is not going to be safe with cats. She does respond to correction and really wants to please her humans in all things so might be trainable but we chose to list her as no cats just to be safe. During her time in foster care we have been introducing her to a variety of small dogs and she seems like she is going to be OK with them and she played very nicely with a sheltie. We will be glad to introduce her to any small pets you have and evaluate her with them. Cheyenne has been with us in foster care longer than any other foster at this time (since Nov 2011) only because she is not cat friendly. Our non cat safe dogs tend to take much longer to place even when they are sweet, gorgeous and very well behaved like Cheyenne. If you don't have cats please consider adopting one of our non cat safe dogs like Cheyenne. |

Jojo is a cute little girl that raced at just 55lbs. Her sire is Tony's Oracle. She was born on 10/1/09. She is mostly white with some black freckles in her fur and a couple of black patches over her ears and eyes. She is waggy and happy and her cute curly tail may end up being a blur in some of her photos. Jojo is a great girl that gets along well with people, other dogs and kids. She is young so is still pretty active and loves to play with other dogs. She passed her initial cat tests but has been interested in chasing some of the cats in her foster home so she would need to be tested with individual cats in whatever home she was going to. Cats with claws that are used to dogs and let the dog know who is boss seem to be respected but ones that run away and are afraid are a little too fun to resist chasing. |

Hit is a happy, waggy girl that is calm and well behaved. She loves kids and raced in a kennel that had small kids in it frequently and was great with them. She raced at 60lbs. Hit celebrated her 4th birthday on March 6th. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry! Hit is a loving little girl that seems like she will make a great pet because of her calm, easy going personality. She passed her cat test at the track but has been a little interested in some of the cats she has seen since. She seems to respond well to correction so we think she is trainable and will be glad to evaluate her with your specific cats. She is good with small and large dogs so should be fine in a home with other dogs. Hit did have a broken hock October 9th of 2010 that ended her racing career. She has completely healed since then but may always have a slight limp. She stilll loves to run and play and doesn't let the old break slow her down a bit. This cutie can still turn on the greyhound speed when she wants to. This is a wonderful little girl that is very well behaved and is going to be a wonderful loving pet for some very lucky family. |

Cooper is a sweet, black male that is very young. He won't even turn two until August 10th. He is a smaller guy that raced at 64lbs. He did pass his cat test at the track and has shown no interest in a small white dog he met. He seems like a quiet boy that is a bit overwhelmed and might be just a little shy at first. He was friendly at the track kennel so he will definitely warm up though. His sire is Tony's Oracle so he is related to quite a few sweet dogs that we have placed. His trainers said he was a real nice boy in the track kennel and was well behaved. More as we get to know him. |

Eureka is a beautiful dark brindle female that raced at 62lbs. She just turned 3 on April 4th. She is a happy, sweet, friendly girl that has made herself very comfortable in her foster home in just a short time. She seems like she will be laid back and well behaved. She is a daughter of the famous Dodgem By Design and is a littermate to another of our available dogs Stimulus. She is smart girl and managed to open the latch to her dog run at the vets office and got out to hang out with her brother Stimulus (who also escaped) and the clinic cat. The three of them were out together all night and the cat was unharmed so she definitely passed that cat test. She has paid no attention to the tiny dog in her foster home either but she did manage to get out of her crate one time so may be a bit of a houdini. This is such a cute sweet girl with the biggest, most expressive eyes. |

Sally just arrived from the track in Orlando. She is a beautiful, small, red brindle girl that raced at 57lbs. She is happy, friendly and laid back. She passed her cat test at the track. Her birthday is July 1 2009 so she is nearly 3. Her sire is Deerfield Site. More as we get to know Sally. |

Respect is a cute, sweet, black girl. She was born on Dec 11th and is 4 years old. She raced at 66lbs and raced over a hundred races and did pretty well. Respect is very friendly and gives kisses and is a real "people dog". She traveled with her head on the driver's shoulder on part of the trip up from the track. A very social, loving girl and so beautiful! Respect passed her cat test so should be OK to live with cats and is living with small dogs in her foster home. Respect prefers to be with people over other dogs so we think she would do fine as an only dog. She does play well with the two males in her foster home though. She has already learned to sit and down on command for treats. She also waits at the door before going out and waits patiently for her food at feeding time. She is a great eater and has no problem going into the crate. She has been quiet all night and is quick to do her business when she goes out and will potty on leash with no problem so might even be a good apartment dog. Respect seems great with handling and allowed her nails to be trimmed with no drama. Anyone looking for a calm, sweetheart of a dog should definitely meet Respect. What a cute cute little face!! Respect had a dominant female that was not fond of her although she has gotten along with two males in her foster home. So she may need a home without other dominant females. Â |

Sally is a small red girl that raced at just 56lbs. She was a successful racer and raced for a long time. She turned 4 on March 7th. Sally passed her test with small dogs so should be fine living with them but was too interested in chasing the cats to pass her cat test. She just needs a home without cats. Sally has done great with children she has met and is a real sweet, loving girl that is going to make a wonderful pet. Sally is a TV star and was a guest recently on the noon news on channel 6. Look at her other photos to see her on TV! Sally is healthy and has been spayed and is ready for her new family. It looks like her foster family has fallen in love with Sally and she will be staying with them. |

CC is a beautiful red brindle boy with white socks and white chest. He was one that we spotted on our last trip down to the kennel in Orlando and put on our list of dogs that we wanted sent up us when they retired. He was sweet and friendly when we met him and his trainer says he is always a good boy. He is a littermate to Nancy G Gracie and Michele Henry that arrived with him. His sire is Tony's Oracle and his birthday is March 28th 2010 so he just turned 2. He raced at 76lbs and passed his cat test at the track. More as we get to know him. |

Intern is a beautiful red and white girl that raced for quite awhile then was retired to be a momma dog. She had a litter but has some problems having them and had to be spayed. Now Intern is retired from that life and ready for a couch of her own. Her birthday is August 11th. She is 5 years old and is a very sweet friendly girl. She travels well and gets along very well with other dogs. So far she has been fine with the tiny fast moving dog in her foster home and wouldn't even look at cats during her cat test. Her dad is the famous Kiowa Sweet Trey that always seems to throw very nice dogs. So far she is doing very well in foster care and plays with the other dogs there. |

Jersey Girl is a tiny, red female that weighed in at 54lbs. Her birthday is Aug 20, 2009. She is very cute, outgoing and friendly with a tail that never quits wagging. She actually whacks herself in the ribs with her tail sometimes when she gets really happy. She passed her cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either, She loves people and is already home acclimated. She is sweet and loving, corrects well and wants to please. She is has a lot of personality and is a fun girl. With that cute face and great personalilty we think she is awfully close to perfect. |

Tawnie went to the the track but only ran three maiden races before deciding she would prefer to be a pet. She is a much better pet than she was a racer and has reached the professional pet level. Tawnie is an exceptionally sweet, laid back girl that is has already been in a home for most of her life. She has good house manners and was returned to us due to financial reasons and not because of anything she did wrong. She is a sweet girl that loves adults and children. Tawny is cat tolerant and has lived with cats before. She has also lived with small dogs in her previous home and even is living with very small puppies in her foster home and is good with them and their mother. This is a great girl that seems to be great with anything and everything and what a beauty she is, with her spots AND stripes! That sweet face is hard to resist! She is a grand daughter of the famous Oswald Cobblepot. |

He gives kisses and grins when he is happy. His birthday is February 22nd. On Easter Sunday he played in the yard with several small children and did great with them and seemed to really enjoy it. Joanie is a tiny little girl that never made it into a real race. She got to the track at Jacksonville but failed out of schooling because she ran too close to the rail and kept hitting it with her toes. What a cute, sweet little girl! She is young and won't be two until May 10th 2012. Her sire is Maryville Rumble. She was just a little timid when she first arrived but loves people and is waggy and happy. When you call her a "pretty little girl" her tail will go in a big circle. She loves playing with toys and likes to play tug. She has had no accidents in her foster home and is very well behaved. She is a natural sitter too. Joanie passed her cat and small dog test so should be fine with small animals. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. Joanie also loves children and is doing great with the 5 year old in her foster home. She has made a little noise in her crate so may not be the best apartment dog. Her foster home says that she is the most loveable, laid back little girl that will steal anyone's heart that meets her. |

Fury is a recent Economy Return. Fury was returned for financial reasons a couple of years ago too but bad luck has struck this older gentleman again. Fury is a great pet and already home acclimated and the returns had nothing to do with his behavior because he couldn't be more perfect. Fury is a son of the very famous Fortress and is a gorgeous, tall, red, 10 year old guy. He was quite the racer and won many races and was a real star back in the day. He was his racing owner's favorite dog and his best racer. Those days are over though and Fury prefers lounging on the the couch or bed now and doesn't do much running around anymore. He is very laid back, calm and well behaved. Fury passed his cat test and has been living with a small dog in his foster home and is very good with him. We think Fury would do best in a home with other dogs to hang out with. He has never been an only dog before and enjoys the company of others. Fury has been checked out by our vet, received a dental and is healthy and ready for his new home. Fury had to have all but two of his teeth removed when we got him back because of painful infection and rotten teeth so he will need his food softened. But on the bright side he won't need his teeth brushed or expensive dentals! Because Fury is over 8 years old he qualifies for our reduced adoption fee of $200. Thanks to CrazyCollars for donating another $75 towards Fury's adoption fee which brings his total adoption fee to only $125! |

Amanda is a recent Economy Return. This is her second round of bad luck. She was returned by another family in 2010 for the same reason. Amanda is a tiny, sweet brindle girl that turned 8 on Christmas day. Her sire is the famous Castor Troy and her dam is CC's Debbie Lynn. She is a smaller girl that raced at 58lbs. Amanda lived with children and a small dog in previous homes so would do fine in a home with either. She also passed her cat test. Amanda is sweet, loving and very friendly. She loves to snuggle and rest her head in your lap. She is calm and has been perfectly behaved in in her foster home. We think she would make a nice Therapy Dog because she has such a calm, quiet, but friendly personality and is so well behaved. Amanda is a star at our meet and greets. Her foster mom always dresses her up in fancy collars, coats, bling and occasionally even a hat. Amanda loves it and loves the attention she gets when she is all dressed up. She is so beautiful and looks SO young without much white on her face. No one would dream that she is 8 years old. Because she is 8 years old she qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $200. Thanks to CrazyCollars for donating another $75 towards Amanda's adoption fee which brings her total adoption fee to only $125! |

Fancy is a cute little girl that raced at 61lbs. Her birthday is August 2nd and she is a daughter of the famous Dodgem By Design. Fancy is already home acclimated and has been living in her racing owner's home since she retired in October. Her racing owner already has a number of pet greyhounds so is not able to keep Fancy, even though she would like to. Fancy has great house manners and is very well behaved. She will give a quick bark if she needs to go out to potty and another at the door to let you know she is done and ready to come back in. She LOVES people and will stick close to you if she is awake. She will put her front legs and chest in your lap on a chair to snuggle with you. So far she has not gotten up on furniture though except for this, but we are pretty sure she would with a little encouragement. Fancy loves to play outside and will play with toys outside and entertain herself even if no humans or dogs want to play with her. She seems to really like playing with balls. She was living with quite a few other large dogs of different breeds and gets along great with males and other females. She has even done great with the small 13lb Italian Greyhound in her foster home. She also passed her cat test and even seemed to like the cat as she rubbed up against it - until it smacked her for it. Then she decided it was best not to be too friendly with cats. She is more focused on interacting with the humans than playing with the other dogs so might be OK as an only dog too. Fancy crates well and is quiet in her crate except for a little whining at meal times. |

Broadford is a gorgeous red girl that raced at 68lbs. Her birthday is June 8th and she is another daughter of the famous Dodgem By Design. She retired a little over a month ago and has been good from the start in her foster home. It is almost like she has lived in a home at some point before. She seems like a calm, laid back girl that loves her dog beds and attention from people the most. Broadford is a friendly, happy girl. So far she has done great with a number of other dogs in the home of different breeds and even a small Italian Greyhound. She passed her cat and small dog test without interest in either so should be good in a home with either. She will play bow and pounce down into almost a down and try to get you to play with her. She is so cute and sweet. She can hold it for a long time in the crate and really tries to stay clean. She potties on leash so may be OK without a fenced yard |

Dash is a red male that just arrived from the track in Orlando. He is a sweet, very calm, guy that never caused any trouble at the track according to his trainers. They felt he would be a very easy, sweet dog for just about anyone. He is a mid sized male and weighed 71lbs at the vet. His birthday is Sept 7 2008. So far Dash has been very quiet and very calm at his foster home. He doesn't make a peep in his crate and sleeps thought the night. He seems to walk pretty good on leash already and didn't have any trouble the first time he tried steps. He passed his cat and small dog test with flying colors too. He loves people and was a big hit at his first meet and greet calmly going up to each person and leaning into them wanting to snuggle. He never got nervous or excited even in the busy Expo center with all the people, noises and things going on. He just kept greeting each person as if it was his job. He was very gentle with kids and really seemed to like them. If you want a handsome, very laid back guy Dash may be the one for you. He is one of the more laid back 3 year olds we have met. |

Kimmie is a brood that just arrived from a greyhound breeding faciliity in the Jacksonville Fl area. She is a daughter of the famous Dodgem By Design and is 7 years old. DOB June 24, 2004. She raced at 62 lbs and is a beautiful, brindle girl that doesn't look her age and doesn't have much white on her face yet. For whatever reason she didn't actually ever end up having puppies and didn't actually have much of a racing career either because of a broken hock early in her career. The hock is totally healed and you can't even see where it was broken now. She is very friendly, happy and loving with people. Kimmie passed her cat and small dog testing and has been fine with a small dog in her foster home after an initial sniff. She loves to play with stuffed toys that squeak and stole stuffed toy football of the shelf at Petco and laid on a bed squeaking it and playing with it for much of the day. She was a huge hit at her first meet and greet at Petco going up to kids and grownups for love. She is a confident girl that wasn't phased in the least by all the people, dogs and attention. She is a fun girl that would be another that would probably excel as a Therapy Dog. |

Dorothy was a successful racer and was sent back to the farm for a second career as a mom. She did not have any puppies though and has now been retired and is ready to find a home and a couch. She is a sweet, outgoing, friendly, girl that seems to take everything happily in stride. Dorothy loves to give sweet kisses and is very gentle taking food from your hand. She travels well and seems to do very well with other dogs. Dorothy passed her cat and small dog tests and is living with cats in her foster home so would be fine for a house with cats or small dogs. She also seems to like children and seems like the type of dog that would be excellent in a home with kids. Dorothy likes to snuggle and adapted to her foster home like she had always lived in one. Nothing seems to bother her. Dorothy wants to be with people and is content to just lay at your feet. She doesn't have much white on her face and definitely doesn't look her age or even act her age. Dorothy was born on Feb 7th of 2003 and is a daughter of the famous Craigie Whistler. She is a super sweet, girl that has a lot of personality and a lot of love to give a lucky family. |

Favorite is gorgeous! Tall, dark and handsome with a shiny, black coat. He raced at 77lbs and retired from the Orlando Track. Favorite's birthday is 10/1/09 so he is young, just 2 years old. He is happy, playful, friendly and loves everyone he meets. He didn't pass his first cat test but did pass his second. He does respond to correction so we think he will be trainable with cats and we will be glad to introduce him to your specific cat since he had mixed results with his first two tests. He was fine living with a small Italian Greyhound in his foster home and seems like the type that will get along well with other dogs male or female. He was too interested in chasing a fuzzy pomerianian he met though so my not do well with very small fuzzy dogs. Favorite has discovered toys and loves to play with them - maybe a little too much sometimes. He seems like a fun guy that will be an easy first or 4th greyhound. Favorite was sired by Tony's Oracle. He pulls on leash when excited and needs reminders sometimes. |

Kareem has been in a home before so is home acclimated and has good house manners. He has lived with cats and small dogs and is fine with them. He is a friendly, loving guy and very sweet. He is a smaller guy that raced at just 69lbs. Kareem's birthday is December 12th. Kareem's only negative is that he is very food motivated and has shown some possessiveness over his food occasionally. We are working on that with him. Because of that we think he would do better in a home with no children even though he has lived with children and has always been gentle with them. Kareem is such a gorgeous guy! |

Georgia is an 8 year old brindle girl with black ears and tail. Her birthday is July 10th. She is friendly, waggy and very loving with her family but can be a little timid out in public and with people she has never met. She is quiet, well-behaved, clean in the house, and crates willingly with 'let's go to bed'. Georgia loves to play with toys and is great on stairs. So far she hasn't tried to get up on the furniture and just comes over and puts her head in your lap and lays on dog beds near you. Georgia was living in a home with 4 little boys and was great with the older ones but was not comfortable with the 3 year old or a baby. She needs a home with well behaved older kids or no children. She gets along well with other dogs small and large and has lived with a cat in her foster home and a puppy. Georgia seems like she would do well with other animals or as an only dog. She is healthy and has been vetted and is ready to go home. Her foster home says they can't say enough good things about her. The older dogs that have already been in a home before are the easiest to foster and often the hardest to let go. Because of her senior status Georgia qualifies for a reduced adoption fee of $200. |

Inez just arrived from the track in Florida. She is a small girl that raced at 56lbs. She has the same mother as one of the other sweet girls we have adopted out and we bet that she will be just as sweet as her half sister. She is 4 years old and was born on Oct 17, 2007. She passed her cat and small dog tests at the track so should be able to live with either. She is curious about small animals at first meeting but just needs some supervision and a sniff and seems to lose interest in them quickly. She is a friendly, happy girl that doesn't seem to know a stranger. A cute lighter red girl with some dark fur on her face. She likes to play with other dogs and will pounce up to them and bounce around trying to get them to play with her. Seems like she is going to be a very fun girl. She has been a little loud when left alone in a crate so probably wouldn't be a good dog for apartment or townhouse living. |

Breezy is a very young girl that wasn't fast enough for the race track or just not that interested in chasing. She will turn 2 on April 4th. Her sister Angel also retired with her. Breezy has been a little timid and overwhelmed with all the changes in her life but seems like she will warm up quickly. She seems like the more active of the two girls and stays busy checking everything out. She has the cutest way of greeting people with a happy wag and a roo roo roo when you come to the gate to get her. Her sister Angel stands back a bit more. Breezy needs a little work on leash because she is nervously checking things out. It was hard to get her to stand still for photos. She is such a gorgeous girl with lots of eyeliner and such a happy personality that is easy to see even though she is still nervous. She was perfectly fine with the small white dog in her foster home so should be fine with other small dogs. |

Rarefeat is an extra large, tall, brindle male that raced at 83lbs. He is such a handsome well behaved guy! His birthday is May 5th and he will turn 4 then. He is an easy going guy that is very friendly and calm. Just walking up to people and wagging his tail politely and leaning in for love. We think he has potential as a great therapy dog. He is the grandson of a brood mom we adopted out named Greys Fiddle De and is very sweet like his mom. His father is the famous Stan's Boy Flyer. He goes potty on leash so would do fine in a home without a fenced yard like an apartment or townhouse. He is also very quiet which makes him a good candidate for apartment living. This is a sweet, easy guy because of his friendly, laid back personality. He is going to be a great dog for some lucky family. His foster family says he is very well behaved. He is cat friendly and does well with dogs of all sizes and is fostered with some tiny dogs. He is very gentle with children and seem to like them. If you like big dogs this is your guy! He is a gentle giant. |

Edna is a red brindle girl that was a good racer at Derby Lane. She just retired after 179 races and celebrated her 4th birthday on October 13th. She raced at 60llbs. Her sire is Maryville Rumble. She is very happy cute and waggy. She tried to climb up in her foster mom's lap every time she sat down. She got along well with all the other dogs in her foster home including small dogs. More as we get to know her. |

Hope is a tiny little girl with the prettiest dark, red brindle coat. Her birthday is April 20th 2006. She is just a bit shy and unsure of herself at first mainly just around men but warms up fast. Hope never raced because she would not chase the lure and would just stop in the middle of the track during training. She tested cat and small dog safe and was even a bit afraid of the cats so would be fine living with either. Hope has been in an adoptive home since she was just 18 months old. When Hope's owner had to go into a nursing home, one of her caregivers took Hope temporarily but eventually we had to find her a permanent home. She lived with another older female greyhound in her previous home and seems to get along well with others. Hope is already home acclimated and is a sweet, well behaved girl. She crates well and likes to go there during thunderstorms which scare her. Some of the photos of Hope were taken when she was 18 months old when she first retired from the track but she looks nearly the same now. There are a couple of recent full length photos of her under her other photos - the one of her stretching and the photo of her with the lab. This is a cute sweet girl that is already house trained and used to living in a home. She grins when she is happy to see you and will lay at your feet and make little moaning noises to get your attention - mainly if no one is petting her. She is such a cute girl with the sweetest personality! |

Iggy is a smaller 69lb, red brindle male that is very timid at first. He is a littermate to two of our other dogs BT Ember and BT Fire that have been adopted and are great pets. Iggy's birthday is Jan 28th, 2008 so he is 3.5 years old. His sire is the famous Flying Penske! He loves to watch TV and has actually laid on his foster dad's lap and napped while watching TV - see his photos. He is living with quite a few other dogs including a couple of puppies in his foster home and seems to get along very well with others. Ignite crates quietly and likes to be in his crate. Although he can be shy out in public he warmed up in his foster home after just a couple of days and now is friendly and happy and a big snuggler. Iggy is living with cats and small dogs in his foster home so should be fine living with either. He seems to prefer women over men but did warm up to his foster dad. He could go to a home with only a man and would be fine since he would be forced to interact with him. In a family situation with a woman and a man we have noticed that he prefers the woman and takes a longer to warm up to a man. Iggy will be a great devoted pet if he just is given a little time to warm up. Because of Iggy's shyness we listed him as older children only, this is something we do with many shy dogs. We think that small, loud children would scare him and would just be a little too much for him to handle on a daily basis. We don't think he would ever intentionally harm a child in any way. He would probably be OK with visiting children although he may choose to stay in another room and not interact much. |

Jimbo is a gorgeous fawn male that just arrived. His 3rd birthday was November 15th and he raced at 70lbs. His sire is the famous Dodgem By Design which makes him a half brother to some of our other available dogs. He passed his tests with cats and small dogs without a problem. He did get interested in one cat although he was totally uninterested in chasing any other cats he has met so we changed him from safe with all to trainable. He has been living with cats and small dogs in his foster home with no problem. Jimbo is a friendly, happy guy that was a favorite at his racing kennel and a really good boy. He has been great in his foster home as well and has quickly settled in to life as a pet. His foster home really likes him and thinks he will be a great easy addition for some lucky home. What a cute face! This one won't last very long. |

Aggie will be arriving Saturday from the Derby Lane race track. She is 3 years old and just celebrated her birthday on December 12th. She is white with black spots - we call that color a "cow doggy". She raced at 63lbs and her sire is Fuzzy's Cannon. More as we get to know her. |

Courageous is a beautiful, sweet girl that is very friendly. She is laid back and well behaved. She is just retiring from her life as a mom and had one litter of pups more than a year ago. She was a fantastic mom and chose to spend an entire year raising her pups. They finally had to separate them when the pups went off to race training and she missed them so much. She travels well and just laid down in the car on the trip up from Florida most of the way. She did come up every now and then to check in and get petted. She did fine with two smaller dogs she has met so far so seems like she will be OK with them. She needs to be cat tested. Courageous is a grinner and will do the famous greyhound smile for you when she is happy. There was a lake on the farm where she has lived and she reportedly loves water and likes to swim. More as we get to know her. |

Blackjack is a sweet, friendly, happy boy that will celebrate his 4th birthday on March 19th. He raced at 75lbs. Blackjack passed his cat and small dog test so should be fine living with either. He has been living with a small white dog in foster care with no problem. He is home acclimated and has great house manners already. Blackjack has a glossy black coat and is SO beautiful. We need to get some newer photos of him because the ones we have are from when he first arrived and didn't have a shiny coat and was a little too thin still. Blackjack is quiet in his crate and potties well on leash and was actually fostered for awhile in a townhouse so would be a great apartment dog. He gets along well with other dogs but seems like he would also be fine as an only dog. He isn't that interested in playing with toys but has a ball he likes. He will roll over, show his belly and wave his paws at you to get a belly rub. Blackjack's only negative is that he has been a little grouchy about his space occasionally when laying down. Just a growl, never a bite. It isn't something that happens often and has improved and only happened once in the last 4 or 5 months. We think he probably should be placed only with older children that will understand not to bother him when he is asleep or laying down though. |

Strider is a beautiful black, shiny boy that raced at 71lbs. He is very young and just celebrated his 2nd birthday Dec 10th. Strider is a bit shy at first and would try to hide his head under someone's arm when he was nervous. He started following his foster family everywhere after only a couple of days and just melts for a tummy scratch. Strider is very sensitive to correction, just a stern word and he stops doing what he is doing. He is home acclimated and well behaved so rarely does anything wrong though. Strider potties well on leash so doesn't require a home with a fenced yard if his family is willing to leash walk him. He is good on leash and can do steps very well. He plays nicely with other dogs large and small, and is fine with cats. Strider even lived with birds so should be find with just about any small critters. He is a very loving, devoted boy once he warms up although he is initially a little shy about approaching strangers. He prefers women over men but will warm up to men too with a little time. Strider has shown some separation anxiety when left totally alone so would do best in a home with at least one other dog for company. Since he sometimes cries when left alone in his crate he would not be a good dog for apartment or townhome living. Strider is a great guy with a lot of love to give. He is young so is a playful, fun guy. |

Evie just arrived. She raced at 59lbs and turned 2 on Oct 29th. She is a daughter of the famous Dodgem By Design. Evie was retired due to a minor injury to her front wrist. This is nothing that even causes a limp at a walk but did effect her speed as a racer. Our vet said she will be fine to run around and play as a pet and it won't limit her in any way and is not going to be noticeable. Evie is friendly and well behaved and traveled well on her way up from the track in Florida. She is living in a foster home with several very tiny dogs and has been great with them so could go to a home with small dogs. Evie settled right into foster care and was so relaxed that she was on her back sleeping with all her legs in the air - we call that a roach and it is a sign of a happy relaxed dog. Her foster home says that she is one of those dogs that makes you feel good because she always wags happily if you even make eye contact with her. Evie is a very happy girl that loves everyone. She passed her cat test with only a little interest when the cats ran or jumped. The rest of the time she was perfectly fine with them. She seems very trainable and mainly just will need supervision with cats at first. |

Ace is a beautiful brindle male that just retired from the race track where he was racing at 76lbs. He is pretty young at just 2.5 years old and was born on April 17th, 2009. He is living with a cat and the 7 and 3 year old children in his foster home so should be fine in a home with cats, kids or small dogs. Ace has really adjusted to home life quickly. He is a total love bug and will come up and lean on you to get petted - we call it a "greyhound hug". Ace is also a kisser. He loves to play with squeakie toys and gathers them all up and hoards them in his crate after he is done playing with them. His favorites are the stuffed animals. Ace enjoys running and playing in the backyard and loves playing with the other greyhounds in his foster home. His foster home says he is very intelligent and picks up on things quickly. This is a sweet, friendly, fun, boy that seems like the type that will easily fit into just about any home. |

Beauty sure has the right name. She is just gorgeous with her rich, red brindle coloring. She is a 4 year old, brindle female that is a new arrival from a track in Florida. Her DOB is October 29 2007 and she raced 61lbs. Beauty has the short and stocky greyhound build. She is very short and can just walk right under larger males. She passed her cat and small dog tests at the track and has been great with the small dog in her foster home. Beauty was just a little timid when she first arrived but has gotten silly and playful since arriving and now seems to be a pretty confident girl. She crates quietly and potties quickly on leash so may be OK for apartment living and would be OK living in a home without a fenced yard. Beauty has a friendly happy attitude and is a great little girl! |

Blitz is a small 58lb, red brindle, female that just arrived from the track in Orlando. Her DOB is May 19th 2007 so she is 4.5 years old. Blitz passed her cat and small dog tests at the track so should be able to live with either. So far Blitz has been a pretty calm but friendly girl. She seems to want to stay close to people and is good on leash More as we get to know her. |

Tanner is a beautiful guy. He is another economic return. He and 4 other greyhounds are being returned because their family was moving and could not take them with them. Tanner gets along well with other dogs and lived in a home with many other dogs including a more dominant male so should be fine with males or females. He is cat and small dog tolerant too. He loved the 9 month old grandchild that was a frequent visitor in his previous home should be fine living in a home with children. His foster mom thinks he would really enjoy a home with children to play with. Besides being so handsome, Tanner has a wonderful personality and was described as "everyone's friend". This is a happy, outgoing guy that greets everyone like they are a long lost friend. Because he lived in a house before he has house manners already and is home acclimated so should be an easy addition to just about any home. |
