Peek A Boo is female greyhound puppy that came from an accidental litter of nine greyhounds in Alabama. We weren't given her mother's name and they aren't sure who her father is. She was born on November 12th. She is sweet, friendly and seems very well behaved for a small greyhound puppy. Like all greyhound puppies, she will be exceptionally high energy for the first year of her life and needs a large fenced area to play in and a home willing to do a lot of training and puppy socialization. Greyhound puppies are rarely available to the public because most greyhounds have a racing career before we get them. Occasionally accidental litters happen that can not be registered for racing. We go years between getting puppies, but this year we have been asked to help place several litters. |

Ed raced at Mardi Gras Race track and only won 2 out of his 13 races. He is a larger guy racing at 77lbs. His sire is KC and All and his dam is Face Value. He turned 2 on May 1st so is still pretty young. He is very calm and friendly. Ed was interested the first time he met the cats but since has lost interest in them and prefers to sniff the cat food over the cat itself. Ed loves to go on rides in the car and is has settled into foster care easily. He is a very good boy that is very loving and sweet. Ed is almost completely white. He just has a patch over one eye. Ed has been going to agility classes with his foster family's other greyhound and is having fun with his lessons and can do quite a few of the obstacles now. He is a super guy that seems like he takes anything and everything in stride and would be a great dog for pet therapy or meet and greets or maybe even dog sports. He was a marker when he first arrived but learned not to go in his foster home quickly. He will need supervision in a new home at first since dogs don't automatically understand that the rules are the same from house to house. Ed can be talkative sometimes so probably wouldn't do well as an apartment dog. He has a lot of personality and is a happy go lucky guy that would be great in just about any situation. |

Jam was an amazing racer, racing most of his 139 races at Southland in Arkansas which is one of the top tracks in the country with the toughest competition. He raced at the top AA level there and competed in Stakes races so he was one of the top racers in the country. He was recently moved to Palm Beach to race and was retired from there because of a dislocated toe. Our vet is checking the toe. Jam will turn 5 on April 8th. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Slatex Eva. He raced at 77lbs and is a very sweet, friendly boy. Jam will talk to you with a very cute soft ARR ROO ROO when you go up to his crate. He passed his cat and small dogs tests. More as we get to know him. |

Kal just arrived from the Palm Beach Track. All of his races listed were at Bluffs Run and Wheeling Downs though. He was just getting started at Palm Beach when he had a minor muscle injury and they decided to retire him. He raced 77 races at the other two tracks before he retired though and actually competed in a stakes race. Kal is a smaller male racing at 68lbs. He will turn 4 on April 10th. His sire is Yahoo Omar and his dam is Many Moons that our group placed last year! Kal is a calm, slightly shy boy that is supposed to be a really nice, well behaved guy according to his trainer. So far he seems like a quiet, sensitive, calm, guy. He barely sniffed the cat and showed no interest in the small dog when he arrived and had previously passed his cat test at the track too. Â More as we get to know him. |

Hawkeye was the result of an unplanned pregnancy. His mother is JS Lil Bit Tipsy and his dad is a greyhound but we aren't sure who. He was born on November 7th of 2015 and won't be available for adoption until he is at least 8 weeks old and weaned. Hawkeye is a confident, friendly pup, very happy go lucky and sweet. It is rare for greyhound pups to be available for adoption since most pups are bred to be racers and go to the track before they are available for adoption. Occasionally we get greyhound pups that are unable to be registered because of an accidental breeding like this or are injured as pups and aren't going to go on to race. Greyhound puppies are not like calm adult greyhounds in any way. They quickly grow to full size by 8-10 months old and can run nearly as fast as an adult racer at that age. They are very hyper and can run and play all day at that age so need a large fenced area to play in and lots of play time with other dogs and humans. Like all puppies, they can do a lot of damage to your house if unsupervised by chewing, digging and during the long potty training process. Greyhound puppies are not for inexperienced owners and are a huge responsibility. Like all puppies they need a lot of socialization and work to become the happy friendly dogs that we normally get from the track. His foster home named him Jamie initially but his new mom decided to call him Hawkeye so his name has been changed. Bear was the result of an unplanned pregnancy. Hanz just arrived from the Palm Beach Track. He also raced at the Naples-Ft Myers and Flagler tracks but only won 3 races out of 37 races so was finally retired. Hanz will turn 3 on January 20th. He raced at 77lbs and is a pretty tall boy. His sire is Blaze N Toddie and his dam is MW Tremayne. He is white with red spots and is a very friendly sweet guy. He was a little interested in the cat in his first cat test at the track but when we tested him the cat smacked him as he was walking throught the door and he was so scared of the cat he started shaking and didn't want anything to do with it again. Hanz does a funny little bounce sometimes when he gets to the end of the leash so needs a little more work on leash manners when he is excited. He also needs some work on wood floors and stairs, he doesn't know how to do those and those freak him out a bit. Even though he has a few things that worry him he is anything but timid or shy. He is very friendly with people and very loving. A happy happy boy. |

Coal is a gorgeous, extra large, black male that raced at 83lbs. He will turn 4 on June 16th. He raced 74 races starting in Birmingham then moving to Sanford Orlando. He was pretty good racing at the top A levels at both tracks. He had a bad fall on June 2nd 2014 in a race that resulted in a torn muscle in a back leg. His owner had surgery done on the muscle and kept him off until October to heal up. He healed up well and was quickly back up to the top A level again and raced well for another year. In September of 2015, he had a jammed ankle that forced him to take a few months off. During his time off the scar tissue from the old surgical repair stiffened up. When they started running him again in December he just wasn't able to get the extension he needed to win races. Both old injuries are healed and shouldn't affect him as a pet. They just took a second or so off his time that is the difference between winning and coming in last. Coal is a special guy. He was raised and raced by his owner and is considered a pet as well as an elite athlete. She would love to get updates from his adoptive family. Coal is a friendly boy that was always good in the kennel. He never had accidents in his crate and was a happy guy that everyone liked. Most of the time the bigger boys are kept in the lower crates at the track but Coal likes to jump up into the top crates so is the unusual male that was a top crate dog. His sire is Flying Coal City and his dam is Kentucky Merlot. More as we get to know him. |

Sammy came to us from an adoption group in Memphis that moves dogs from the track there to other adoption groups. He is a larger black male racing at 78lbs. He was a good racer that raced his entire career at top A level and ran at several tracks. He started at Birmingham then went to Naples Ft Myers and Flagler. He raced 77 races. Sammy turns 4 on December 20th. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Country Billings. Â Sammy is very happy, outgoing and loving. He will chose to hang out with people over other activities. He passed his cat test easily and seems like he will be OK with cats with just a little supervision at first. Sammy is being fostered in an apartment and walks and potties nicely on leash so doesn't require a fenced yard. He is a bit higher energy than the average greyhound and loves to run and play when he has access to a fenced area. He plays really well with other dogs large and small and encourages the other dogs at the dog park to try to catch him, but they rarely can. Even though he isn't a total couch potato, he still is happy sleeping most of the day as long as he gets a little exercise. Sammy doesn't have accidents in his crate even when his foster mom had an extra long day at work. He did try to mark things in the house when he first arrived, but quickly learned good house training. Sammy is very quiet in his kennel and is being fostered in an apartment so may be the perfect choice for apartment or townhouse living. The only time he makes noise is when he hears his foster mom coming in the front door after being gone. Sammy is a very sweet boy that is happy, silly and very charming. He likes kids and everyone else he meets and seems to have a great personality. |

Kiki just arrived from a farm in Oklahoma. She never raced. Kiki just wasn't interested in chasing a lure so was retired out of race training and never made it to the track. Kiki is very young and won't even turn 2 until March 2nd. Kiki is friendly and happy. Very curious and sweet. Her sire is Djays Octane and her dam is Keeper Design. Kiki has a beautiful shiny coat and is quite the looker. Kiki was a little interested in the cats at first but is very correctable so seems like she will be fine with supervision at first. She is a very sweet loving girl. Don't let her pictures that look a little sad fool you. She is a happy sweet girl that loves people. |

Stacy raced 41 races at several different tracks, Southland in Arkansas, and Derby Lane and Sanford Orlando in Florida. She was moved to Birmingham AL in June and only had 3 races there before she broke her leg badly in a race on June 13th and was unable to finish the race. She was splinted by the track vet and was brought to the track adoption kennel. They took her to a specialist who recommended surgery and performed that surgery on June 16th. Pro Greyhound a charitable greyhound rehab organization funded the expensive surgery which cost over $2000. Her surgery was very successful and her leg looks great, but she managed to break one of the pins. So Stacy had to have the pin and all the hardware removed a few weeks ago. She has recovered from the last surgery and is being released for adoption by our vets. She has healed up very well. Stacy's sire is the very famous Soprano Drive and her dam is Huska Oasis. She is a friendly, happy girl that seems very social and not stressed by new things. Stacy loves people and is very sweet. She is a small girl that raced at 56lbs. Stacy can be vocal in her kennel so would not be a good choice for apartment or townhouse living. Stacy passed her cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live in homes with either. As you can see from her picture, Stacy likes to snuggle and be close. |

Aimee initially came in from the Sanford Orlando race track. She raced 23 races but never actually won one of them. She also raced at the Orange Park Track in Jacksonville. Aimee was adopted as a two year old in 2014 but there was a death in the family and the remaining family member was unable to continue carring for Aimee. Aimee celebrated her 4th birthday on February 12th. She is a tiny girl that raced at just 54lbs. She is a sweet, friendly, waggy girl that loves everyone. Her dad says that she loved children and greets everyone that comes over to their house. She loves having company and loves being around people. He says she is very good and easy to take care of. Her only bad habit is sometimes getting into the trash when left home alone. She is not crated anymore at home but still does crate well when boarded. She has been living as an only dog. Aimee did not pass her initial cat test when she first arrived but hasn't been retested recently. Her sire is Domingo Dodge and her dam is MadDogofDarkness that we also placed. |

Sugar Sweet just arrived from the Birmingham Race Track. She was one that we met and fell in love with when visiting the track previously. We had been hoping to get her when she retired. We also placed one of her littermates AMF Sugar Sugar. Her sire is the famous Flying Penske and her dam is AMF Sweet Betty. Sugar Sweet raced in Naples Ft Myers as well as Birmingham. She got up to the top A level and was a winner in Birmingham but recently started interfering with other dogs during races so was forced into retirement. Playing on the track with other racers is not allowed. Sugar Sweet turned 3 on June 8th. She was great with the baby and small dog in her first foster home but still needs to be cat tested. She is grinner and is a very happy friendly girl. She is very quiet in her kennel and walks nicely on leash. She loves stuffed animals that squeak. She is silly and playful and doesn't seem to stress at all. She travels well too. |

Stani is a big sweet girl with a lot of personality. She raced at 67lbs and is stocky and muscular and probably closer to 70lbs now. She has a beautiful, shiny black coat. Stani is happy, waggy and silly. She will turn 4 on December 10th. Her sire is the famous Trent Lee and her dam is Nikita Design. Stani raced 49 races and Flagler and Naples Ft Myers and was quickly up to the top A level and even competed in Stakes races. She had a career ending injury in April of 2014. She had a broken bone in her hock so she was sent back to a farm in Oklahoma to be a mom. Her leg has long healed and seems fine now. It doesn't prevent her from running around and playing normally. She doesn't have a noticeable limp, but may not be the best choice for dog sports or long hikes because those may aggravate an old injury. Stani doesn't have any pups listed on the database yet but if she had any they would be too young to register yet. Stani seems like a confident girl and likes to stand next to you leaning on you for love. Very sweet girl and gorgeous with that flashy white chest and beautiful coat. Stani was initially very interested in the cat until it slapped her. Then she play-bowed to it showing she was no threat. When that earned her another slap she wouldn't go anywhere near the cat again. She did fine with the small dog in her foster home and a toddler too. More as we get to know this stunning girl. |

Gabby just arrived from a farm in Oklahoma. She never made it to the race track and just didn't seem interested in chasing the lure so was retired right out of training. Gabby just turned one year old in July so is younger than the retired racers we typically have available. Gabby is friendly with people but is very overwhelmed with everything new in her life. This is the first time she has ever been away from the place she was born. She has to learn everything from how to act in a house to how to walk on leash. Her foster family is working on teaching her. Gabby's sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is Kitz. More as we get to know her. |

Mo came in from the Palm Beach Race Track. He also raced at Mardi Gras in Florida. He had hock injury in his last race on July 11th and was put in a splint then. From there he went to Pro Greyhound in Salisbury NC for rehab. Now he is healed up and is ready for adoption. Mo raced 25 races at 71lbs so is a mid sized guy. His sire is Djays Octane and his dam is Fraulein Becky. Mo turned 2 on July 28th so he is pretty young. He is a nice calm guy for his age and has been very well-behaved in his foster home. Mo recovered completely from his injury and he has been released by our vets to play and do whatever he wants to. Mo loves to chase balls. He has done fine with the small dog in his foster home and the small kids that visit frequently. He is a very sweet guy that his foster dad thinks will make an awesome pet. Mo can be just a little timid at first but warms up pretty fast. He has been with us for awhile because he just doesn't go straight up to strangers at first so doesn't show well. If you give him a couple of days to warm up, he is very loving and will definitely be your best friend. |

Beretta is a very tiny girl that raced at 52lbs. She only has 2 races in Daytona Beach track and didn't do well in either of them. Beretta retired very young and still has some patches of puppy coat that she is losing. It looks like she may have been picked on by the other puppies in her litter because she has quite a few small old scars. Beretta has a long nose and a cute little overbite. She just turned 2 on November 4th so she still has some puppy playfulness and will need some exercise and appropriate chew toys. She will do best in a home with another dog because she gets her cues from them and follows the pack. She has done great on her potty training in her foster home and doesn't have accidents. She does well living with several small dogs and several large dogs in her foster home. Beretta's sire is Locall Torino and her dam is Where's Finaltee. This is a very sweet girl that does great with a large pack in her foster home. Her foster mom just loves her. She is friendly and very loving and so adorable! |

Kimber is a very tiny, friendly girl that is darker brindle. She is short and stocky for a greyhound. Very cute! She is very very outgoing and is a natural sitter that sat a lot of the trip up. She just retired from the Daytona Beach track with her sister Kahr. She had a very short career of 2 races. She is a tiny girl that raced at just 52lbs. She is young and just turned 2 on October 21st. She is a playful, silly girl that will go pounce on toys and throw them around several times a day. She gives hugs and lots of kisses. She is the rare greyhound that will alert you if someone arrives with a bark so wouldn't be a good dog for an apartment. Since she is still young she is more playful and energetic than the average greyhound couch potato. Kimber easily passed her cat and small dog tests and showed no interest in either so we had her listed as good with cats. Since she has shown too much interested in the timid cat in her foster home that hides and runs from her. Since she is not interested in playing with or chasing cats that growl at her or slap at her we changed her to trainable now. She is a playful pup and just needs a home with a confident cat that lets her know who is boss. She will not be placed with a timid cat. Kimber is very focused on people and loves being with her people she is also good with the kids in her foster home. A very sweet little girl. |

She raced at Derby Lane, Mardi Gras, Southland and Flagler race tracks and has 78 races listed. She retired in August of 2014 and went back to the farm to be a mom. She did not have pups and her owner decided to retire her. Edith will turn 4 on January 29th. Her sire is Bob's Skeet and her dam is Elsie Bones. We placed her brother LC Edison. Edith travels very well and just lays down for the trip. She is happy and waggy and loves people but seems like she is pretty calm. She is doing great in foster care with the small dogs that also live there. She liked the toddler she met. More as we get to know her. |

Scotty is retiring from D'Arcy Kennels at Derby Lane in Florida. He is a white boy with red brindle spots. He raced at 71lbs so is on the smaller side for a male. He will turn 4 on November 20th. His sire is Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Pam Ford. We have placed two of his littermates Luke Franklin and Mickey Coleman so we have been looking forward to getting Scotty too. Scotty was a good racer racing at the top A level and even winning a 3rd in the Derby Lane St. Pete Derby Consolation Stakes Race. He raced 130 races. Scotty is a calm boy that is very friendly. He was a little loud in his kennel so probably would not be a good apartment dog. If all goes well he will be going to live with his littermate Luke Franklin! |

Mae West is a small red girl that raced at 56lbs. She raced 155 races at Naples-Ft Meyers and Sanford Orlando Tracks. She was pretty good getting up to A level. She just retired from the Sanford Orlando track. She just turned 4 years old on August 16th. Her sire is Gable Sour Cream and her dam is Fuzzys Razzel. Mae West is calm, friendly and sweet and a beautiful red color. She is being fostered with a child and has done very well with her. She likes to sleep in bed with her foster parents and loves to snuggle. Mae passed her cat and small dog test without much interest and was actually a little worried about the cat and wanted to keep her distance. When the cat made a move toward her she barked and backed away. She is vocal about being in a crate sometimes so definitely isn't going to be an apartment dog. She is a very sweet, friendly girl and does potty nicely on leash so may do OK without a fenced yard if her owner was willing to walk her. |

Diamond just arrived from the Daytona Beach Race track. Both of her races listed were at Derby Lane and she came in last in both of them so was moved to Daytona Beach in hopes she would do better there. She did not show much promise there either in schooling so was retired very young. Diamond won't turn two until February 3rd. She is a tiny brindle girl that raced at just 52lbs. She has silver fur between her black brindle stripes so is beautiful and unique. Her sire is Mankato and her dam is Keeper Bow Show. Diamond's trainer says she is very friendly and just wants to cuddle. She is going to make a very loving pet. She is a very laid back girl for one so young. She loves to have a good run every now and then but mostly just wants to snuggle. She is a pretty quiet girl so may be OK for apartment living. Diamond passed her cat and small dog tests without much interest in either. More as we get to know her. |

Bonnie just arrived from the Daytona Beach Race Track with her littermate Clyde. They are from a litter of just two pups. She is a dark brindle girl that is described by her trainer as being timid in a new situation for a couple of days then she is warms up and becomes more outgoing and friendly. She raced 10 races and actually won one of them but then finished at the back of the pack after that. She raced at 64lbs. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Riverview Sookie. She is young and won't turn two until January 17. Anyone interested in a bonded pair of young greyhounds? We will also adopt them out separately. Bonnie has been very shy since she arrived at our vet's. She goes to the back of her run when people come up to see her and seems very nervous so far. Much different than her brother Clyde who goes up to everyone. Bonnie hasn't shown any interest in the small dogs and cats at the vet's office. |

Her sire is BL Bounder and his dam is BD's Faye. She passed her cat test so should be able to live with cats or small dogs. More as we get to know her. |

Ellen came in from the Sanford Orlando track with her littermate Elliot. She is a small girl that raced at 56lbs. She just turned 2 on Sept 11th. She has 7 races to her credit and won 2 of them early on, but was coming in toward the back of the pack in her last few races. So Ellen was retired young. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is KL Elaborate Eva. When Ellen first arrived she was very overwhelmed and shy. She had a female trainer and prefered to be around females and was very timid around men at first. She was not good on leash and bolted when scared. It took her a week or so to settle and now she isn't shy with her foster mom at all and is silly and playful. She has been going out in public for more socialization and is really coming around and is becoming a totally different dog that is friendly with men and women. She is much better on leash now and seems like she has gained a lot of confidence. She easily passed her cat and small dog tests and is living with both in her foster home. Ellen is a friendly, silly, young girl that is very sweet. She might be just a little timid at first in a new home but comes around very quickly and is very loving. What a pretty girl! |

Garfield just arrived from the Southland Race Track which is one of the top tracks in the country. He was a big star there racing at top levels and was a 2013 Southland Spring Futurity Finalist! He raced 136 races there mostly at the top AA level. Garfield raced at 72lbs and turned 4 on August 8th. His sire is Rhythmless and his dam is Slatex Cindel. Garfield is very friendly and waggy. He seemed to ride well on the trip over and seems like a very happy boy. He passed his cat and small dog tests. Garfield was quiet in his crate even when all alone in the dog room with no other dogs in there with him. He pulls some on leash when excited and is a strong boy so we will work on that. Garfield was diagnosed with Pannus which is an auto immune disease of the eye. He will need daily eye drops to prevent it from becoming worse and affecting his sight. Garfield is a sweet loving boy that has done fantastic as a first foster for a new foster family. He is a well behaved boy. |

Gap just arrived from the Southland Race track in Arkansas. He is another big star from that track racing 140 races mostly at the top AA level and competing in big Stakes races. Gap is a black male that raced at 72lbs. He turned 4 on July 11th. His sire is Kiowa WW Brother and his dam is WW Fast Star. He was very friendly and happy when we met him and traveled well on the dog haul. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily not even wanting to look at or sniff the cat. He seemed like he had already met a cat before and understood what happened if you get your face too close to one. He is being fostered with small dogs and kids and is great with both. Gap loves to chase a ball but only chases it and doesn't understand that he needs to bring it back. He already goes to the back door and whines when he needs to go outside to potty. On walks he pulls a little on leash at first but quickly settles down and walks nicely. He likes to be close to his foster family and is very sweet and social. |

Jolene is a gorgeous, shiny, black girl with a lot of personality. She is very sweet and friendly. She is retiring from the Sanford Orlando Track where she raced 86 races. She mainly was competitive at the lower levels but did get up to B level. Jolene is a tall girl that raced at 64lbs and turned 3 on April 18th. Her sire is Fuzzys Cannon and her dam is Flat Out Uma. She passed her cat test without much interest in the cat and is being fostered with cats and small dogs. Jolene seems like a very smart girl because she was able to easily remove her muzzle. She was quiet in her kennel and very well behaved once she got to the house and traveled well in the van. More as we get to know this outgoing girl. |

Browning just arrived from the Daytona Beach Race Track. He only had 2 official races listed and didn't do well in either of them so retired young. He is a beautiful brindle. Light fawn with black stripes. Browning has a white blaze on his nose and white socks and chest. He is very flashy looking. He has cute floppy ears too. Browning raced at 70lbs so is a smaller male. He is very young and won't turn 2 until November 28th. His sire is Locall Torino and his dam is Knock Out Pretty. Browning is a very friendly boy that gives lots of kisses. He is just precious and seems pretty calm for one so young. He rode well on the trip up and didn't seem very stressed at all. Very sweet and a natural sitter unlike most greyhounds that find the position uncomfortable. He was initially very interested in the cat but as soon as the cat slapped him he wouldn't go near it again and seemed like he had learned that cats are not to be messed with. We have him listed as trainable because we think he would do OK in a home with a confident cat with supervision. He did fine with the small dogs he met too. Browning has been very quiet in his foster home when she leaves him alone so might be OK for apartment living. |

Clint came in from the Daytona Track. He raced all of his 198 races there. He was a good racer that won at the top A level and won a lot of races. Clint is a tall boy that raced at 78lbs. He turned 4 on March 18th. Clint's sire is RA Blazer and his dam is Racheal Lee. Clint is a very calm, sweet boy that is good with kids. He was around his trainers kids at the racing kennel and has been living in a home with a small child since August. Clint is very loving and just comes up and leans on you for love or puts his head on you. He was one of his trainers favorites in the kennel. Clint doesn't jump on people or get real excited. Just a sweet, calm, loving guy. Clint rode with his head on our volunteers' shoulder all the way to SC from FL. Clint passed his cat and small dog tests easily. Even though he likes small dogs, he hasn't figured out how to play gently with them, so needs a home with larger dogs only. |

Rocket just arrived from the Southland race track in Arkansas where he was quite the star. He raced and won at the top AA level at there and it is one of the top tracks in the country. Rocket also competed in special Stakes races for the very fastest dogs at that track. This is an amazing racer! Rocket ran 121 races and is a taller guy at 78lbs. His sire is Flying Coal City and his dam is Bi's Hunter. Rocket will turn 4 on December 28th. Rocket is friendly and sweet and makes great eye contact. He has a lot of dark eyeliner around his eyes and is very cute staring up at you with those big eyes. He is a happy, bouncy, boy that is very loving and loves to be with his people. He bounces happily to see you when you come home but doesn't jump on you. Like most greyhounds he is very calm and naps a lot. He does make a little noise in this kennel so wouldn't be a good apartment or townhouse dog. He mainly makes noise when he is waiting his turn to go outside. Rocket is good on leash and will go potty on leash so may not need a fenced yard. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily and was very good with the free roaming cats in the vet's office. Rocket was a little stressed when he first came in so he does seem like a somewhat sensitive boy but he got over that within a few days. He isn't shy at all with people and did great at his first meet and greet at a huge Home and Garden Show. He is also doing very well with a toddler in his foster home. He playbows, spins and will do a cute little bark to try to get you to play with him. This is a very sweet, cute, superstar with a fun personality. |

Sam is a young guy that turned 2 on October 26th. He came from a Daytona Beach Kennel closing. He only raced 25 races, some at Daytona and some at Derby Lane. He did win one of those. His sire is BD's Grayson and his dam is Flying Scarlet. We placed his full sister from another litter Flyin Band Perry and she is a wonderful girl. Sam's litter were all named for Gone with the Wind characters. He raced at 73lbs but is very tall for that weight. Sam has been very calm and laid back in his foster home for a guy that is so young. He passed his cat and small dog tests with only a few polite sniffs. The cat smacked him and he wouldn't go near it again and just wanted out of the room as fast as possible. He is used to being around kids because his trainer brought her 3 boys to the kennel with her and he was fostered with a toddler. He is a very loving guy with everyone and seems to really love children. He chose to stay near the toddler in his foster home even when he was in the bathtub and doesn't seem to mind wearing bubbles. He very much wants human companionship and will follow his people quietly as they move through their normal day, choosing to be with them whenever possible.  He potties well on leash too so would be comfortable in almost any living situation. We recommend supervision when living with small dogs especially around food and treats, and a crate helps him settle and sleep quietly when left alone. Sam is a beautiful, stately greyhound boy who's very ready to find the perfect home. He seems to have the perfect personality for Therapy or Service work and is very attentive to his owners. |

Jamie came in from the Daytona Beach Race Track. She is a tiny 54lb female that turned 2 on March 6th. Her sire is Iruska All Star and her dam is Iruska Kittle. She has 31 races listed at Daytona Beach and Sanford Orlando Tracks in Florida and at Tri State in WV. She only won one race but did place some. She travels well and passed her cat and small dog tests after she arrived. Jamie potties nicely on leash and goes up and down stairs really well. She is very loving and gives little kisses and hugs. Jamie was adopted and has been living in as an only dog in apartment for a month because she was a very quiet dog that didn't make any noise in her racing kennel or at her foster home. She was a great apartment dog until the last week. She has suddenly gotten stressed when left and started making noise so can't stay in the apartment and is looking for a new home. She would probably do better in a home with other dogs so she isn't totally alone when left. Jamie was great with the child in her first foster home. Jamie is a cute, sweet, friendly girl that will make a great pet. Just adorable! Jamie is not only beautiful, but also sweet. She ate a great dinner and breakfast and took a treat from my hand. She is very curious of all the new things she is seeing. She peed and pooped on leash. She went down all the stairs to the backyard like a champ last night, but needed some encouragement to go back up. This morning, she just ran right up those stairs. She gives little kisses and is a serious hugger. I felt like I was walking a kangaroo at times. LOL She slept all night long without a peep! She will be an awesome girl for some family.

John Reese's litter were all named for Person of Interest characters. John was an amazing racer, racing at one of the top tracks in the country and at the very top level AA. He even won a Stakes race which are limited to the very best racers at that track. We feel like we should ask him for his autograph because he was such a star. He raced 139 races mostly at the very top levels. John turned 4 on July 5th. His sire is Gable Dodge and his dam is O Jays. John was understandably a kennel favorite and is missed by his trainer. He has a wonderful, outgoing, curious personality. John is a big stocky, muscular guy that raced at 78lbs. He has put on a little weight since he retired and was 80lbs at the vet's. He loves people and will put his paws up to give hugs, which we discourage because of his size, even though it is cute. John is quiet and is being fostered in an apartment. He learned how to do the stairs and elevator there the first day and is not stressed by new things. He is very strong and excitable and pulls on leash, so his foster home is working on that. John is just so curious and wants to go see everything and greet everyone on walks, but is learning to control his enthusiasm.  John was initially very curious about the cat until the cat slapped him. He quickly decided not to go back near the cat. We think he is trainable, especially with a cat that would stand his ground and slap him if he shows any interest at all. Because John is big, strong and excitable we have him marked "older children" only. We don't think he would intentionally harm a kid, but he could accidentally knock down a toddler by jumping on him or excitedly bumping into him. John would probably love to play with older kids though. Even though he is higher energy for a greyhound, he still is good when left home alone and just plays quietly with his toys, has no potty accidents and isn't destructive. He is very smart and learned in a day how to work lever type door handles in the house. John loves to chase a squeaker tennis ball and a few minutes in the morning and evening playing with the ball helps wear him out. This would be a wonderful greyhound for agility, obedience or other dog sports since he isn't the typical couch potato. He would love hiking and doing things with his family. John is a handsome, loving guy that is full of personality that is going to make a fun pet for a lucky family. John is a pretty large guy that raced at 78lbs but has put on a little weight since he retired and is very large.

George is a 72lb, light fawn male that has darker sabling on his fur. He gives kisses and gives a little crooked Elvis grin when happy that you can see in his pictures. George was a good racer, that raced 165 races, mostly at the top A level and even raced in a stakes race. He started out at Sanford Orlando then was moved to Derby Lane. He was owned by Don Burk and his racing name is his owner's name spelled backwards with a Y added. George's sire is Fortunate Son and his dam is Doe's Ruby. He turned 5 on June 20th. George is a very good, calm loving dog. He passed his cat and small dog test without interest in chasing either so should be fine in a home with cats or small dogs. His foster dad thinks he would be an easy addition to just about any home and would be the perfect greyhound for a first time greyhound owner. His foster dad described him as the "perfect greyhound". He has been in a home before but was returned due to one of his family members allergies to dogs. |

Willie just arrived from the Southland Race track in Arkansas. He was a fantastic racer racing top level races at one of the top tracks in the country. He was a distance runner and won the slightly longer races there. He raced 83 races total and also raced in Bluffs Run and in Dubuque. Willie raced at 75lbs and he is pretty tall for his weight. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Mon Manny and his dam is Divulge. Willie will turn 4 on November 27th. Willie is a very friendly guy that isn't a bit shy. He loves people and was a one dog welcoming committee at his first event. He made sure that every person was greeted and loved all the attention. Willie is pretty calm and well behaved. He initially was pretty loud in his kennel, but once he settled in he was very laid back and pretty quiet in his crate. He is a gorgeous brindle boy that is very tall and narrow. He passed his cat and small dog tests with just a little polite sniffing then went on to check out other things in the room. Willie is being fostered with cats and small dogs and is doing really well with both. He is a very loving boy that will put his head on your lap and stand next to you just as long as you will pet him. This superstar LOVES his people and every person in the room. |

Leo is an extra large, white male with dark brindle spots that just arrived from the Sanford Orlando race track. He raced a 82lbs and turned 3 on June 12th. His sire is Dauntless and his dam is Fuzzy's Donna. Leo raced 82 races, also racing at Naples-Ft Meyers, Flagler, and Palm Beach. He got up to A level at one point too! Leo is strong and pulls on leash so his foster home is working on teaching him good leash manners. Leo passed his cat and small dog tests. He immediately wanted to run over and sniff both, but just wanted to sniffed, then quickly lost interest and checked out everything else in the room. Leo is doing great in foster care and has wonderful house manners. He bonded quickly to his foster family and is very sweet and loving. When he first arrived he seemed like the most confident, friendly guy around. As he has relaxed, he has shown that he isn't quite as confident as he appeared and has a sensitive side. He does sometimes shy away from loud noises and people and other dogs that approach too quickly. Leo is being fostered in a condo and is a pretty quiet guy that should be OK for apartment or townhouse living. |

Havoc came in initially from the Palm Beach Race Track. He had a minor soft tissue injury to one of his legs so was taken in by Pro Greyhound, a rehab facility for injured greyhounds. His injury was healed up and he was placed with an adoptive family 9/20/15. Havoc made full recovery from his old injury and can play and go for long walks. He doesn't have any permanent problem because of the injury. Havoc is a very outgoing guy that is happy and waggy. Very sweet and loving with a great personality. He raced at 75lbs so is a mid sized guy. Havoc has traveled around a bit racing at Southland in Arkansas and Bluffs Run and Dubuque in IA then Mardi Gras and Palm Beach tracks in Florida. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Gable Burma. Havoc was born on 4/14/12. Havoc's adoptive mom reports that Havoc is good with kids, cats and small dogs. Havoc has been in a home for 4 years now so is already home acclimated and being a bit older should be a calm well behaved guy. |

Linden came to us from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He is an extra large white male with brindle spots that raced at 80lbs. He started racing at Naples-Ft Myers track but just couldn't keep up with the other dogs in the 4 races he ran there. He was moved to Sanford Orlando and raced one more race there, but he came in last place so he was retired. He is young and turned 2 on February 17th. Linden is pretty laid back and calm. He is friendly and seems like a sweet, gentle, giant of a dog. His sire is Djays Octane and his dam is DS Mariah. Linden rode very well on the trip up from Florida and just got in the van, laid down and slept most of the way. He is very good and walks on a loose leash most of the time, unless he gets startled by something. He does startle with some new things. Â A bike going by startled him and a loud-speaker scared him, but he isn't bothered by thunderstorms or even all the motorcycles driving by our meet and greet at a Harley shop. He has a lot of new things to be introduced too and should stay on a shorter leash and maybe wear a harness until he gets more comfortable. Linden has been good with the kids and small dogs he has met. |

Gonzo just arrived from the Sanford Orlando race track. She is a small girl that raced at 57lbs. She raced at Bluffs Run, Dubuque, Mardi Gras and Sanford Orlando so she traveled around. She was a good racer and did get up to A level. Her sire is the very famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Glimmer. She just turned 4 on May 1st. Gonzo was very quiet in her kennel at the track so her trainer thinks she might be a good dog for apartment or townhouse living. She is a friendly girl that seems relaxed and sweet. No surprise that she travels well. She passed her cat and small dog tests easily. Like most greyhounds Gonzo did show more interest in a running cat, so will need supervision at first and some training not to play with cats. |

Jessie just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race track. She is a small female that raced at 58lbs. Jessie turned 3 on May 4th. Her sire is DJ's Octane and her dam is DJ's Take N Off. She raced 74 races at Sanford Orlando and did get up to the top A level. Jessie did pass her cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. She is very outgoing and sure of herself. She needs some work on the leash because she is so curious about everything that she tried to get there fast and tries to check everything out at once. Our vet says she is very dramatic and will yelp or do the greyhound scream of death if she even thinks you may do something to her that she doesn't like. Jessie is a natural sitter and would just sit down in the grass when she was having her pictures taken.  She seems like she is a very sweet, happy girl. and she does travel very well and just got in the van and laid down for the trip. Jessie is coming in as a special order for one of our families so isn't available at this time. |

Elliot just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track with his littermate Ellen. He raced just 10 races and won one of them, but since that one win, he has been coming in at the back of the pack. Elliot is a young guy that won't turn 2 until Sept 11th. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is KL Elaborate Eva. He raced at 73lbs so is a mid sized guy. Elliot passed his cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. He is friendly and goes up to strangers right away for attention but seems a little overwhelmed by new places and things. He wasn't sure about the van we drove him back from the vet in and tried to climb out a window that was not open. When he realized he couldn't do that, he tried to climb over a seat. When he couldn't do that either he just gave up and curled up in a small spot and hid his face for the rest of the ride. At the vet's office they called him "Prince Charming" because he was so handsome and goofy. He is very young, silly and doesn't have a lot of confidence yet but is a very sweet boy that likes people. He has quickly adapted to his foster home and is silly, happy and loves to play. |

His sire is Maryville Rumble and his dam is USS Fine Touch. Bolo will turn 4 on October 20th. Bolo is a very outgoing, happy guy. Very friendly with everyone he meets. He has been very quiet in his crate. He does need a little work on walking on leash because he does pull and is pretty strong for his size. Bolo has done great with the small dogs he has met and seems to like kids too. More as we get to know him. |

Kat is a tiny, 56lb, brindle female. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is CTW Fanny Flash. She raced 9 races in Birmingham but didn't win any of them so was retired. She turned 2 on December 22nd. She is very friendly and sweet. Kat has a very light hair coat even for a greyhound. If you want a greyhound that won't shed much this is your girl! Kat has been in an adoptive home since June, but is being returned because her owner does not have a fenced yard and has to leash walk her. Kat is great on leash except when she sees the rabbits in the neighborhood on walks. She pulled her elderly owner down a couple of times trying to go after a rabbit. Kat does potty nicely on leash and is great on leash most of the time. Since she is a tiny female she just needs an owner that is a little stronger and maybe fewer rabbits in the yard. Kat is pretty confident and curious about new things and loves everyone she meets. She is a great girl, but like a typical greyhound, does get a little excited when she sees a rabbit. Kit Kat likes kids and has been around them in her former home. |

Dreamer is a tiny, black female that raced at 53 lbs. She just arrived from a Daytona Beach Kennel closing. She raced all of her 65 races there and won a few of them. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Kiowa Deli Dana. We already placed two of her littermates Demolition and Dempsey and they are wonderful pets. Dreamer just turned 3 on August 7th. She passed her cat test and her small dog test, just sniffing politely and showing no interest in chasing either so should be fine in a home with either. She is more shy than her brothers were and will need time to warm up to her new family and new situations. She had a female trainer at the track so is used to women but more timid around men. Dreamer didn't seem to be scared by fireworks though. She is very quiet in her crate and seems to feel safe there. Dreamer follows the lead of more confident dogs so she would do best in a home with another more confident dog. She is a genetically shy girl that we refer to as a spook. Dreamer had good care at the track and her shyness is not because of anything bad happening to her. She is slowly warming up to her foster family and has started initiating play with her foster mom. She is much more cautious around her foster dad. She loves the other dogs in her foster family and is not shy with other dogs at all. She is very playful with other dogs and always plays nicely with her Irish Wolfhound foster sister and her greyhound foster sister. Her foster family has been taking her out a lot to different places like the farmers market and PetSmart to socialize her and introduce her to new places and she does better every time she goes out. She has even been to an obedience class, just to be around new people, not to actually learn tricks. Dreamer will need a family that understands that shy dogs need patience and time to warm up. She will eventually be very loving and completely devoted to her family, but may always be cautious around strangers and may not ever be really comfortable out in new places. We have her listed as no small kids because she is so timid, not because she would ever be a threat to a child. The fast movements and loud noises that small kids make scare her, so we think it would take her much longer to warm up to a family with toddlers. Older calmer kids would be better. Dreamer is such a sweet girl and makes so much progress every day with her foster family. We would love to get her in a new home soon. |

Lucy is a gorgeous dark brindle girl with black stripes over dark brown, nearly chocolate, color. She has a beautiful shiny coat and is a bigger girl racing at 68lbs. Lucy raced 146 races and was good getting up to A level on long distance races. She raced at Flagler, Naples Ft. Myers, Mardi Gras and most recently Sanford Orlando tracks. Lucy's sire is Atascocita Leroy and her dam is Fuzzys Roffolo. She turns 5 on December 1st. Â Lucy passed her cat and small dog tests with no interest and has been fostered in a home with both. So far she has been complaining a bit in her kennel so may not be the best dog for apartment living. Lucy is a very gentle, loving girl. She seems to love kids and is being fostered in a home with children. |

Dusty just arrived from the Orlando Race Track. He also raced at Orange Park and Daytona Beach in Florida. He raced 123 races and got up to A level. Dusty is a stocky guy that raced at 77lbs. He turned 3 on April 6th. His sire is BD's Flip and his dam is BF Oxbow Ruby. Dusty is a very calm, friendly, boy that is very well behaved. He is doing well on the hardwood floors in his foster home. He potties well on leash and enjoys going for walks. Dusty is very quiet and hasn't barked at all so might make a good apartment or townhouse dog. He had a small cut on his leg and left his bandage on for a couple of days and never even tried to take it off himself. This is a very good boy! He passed his cat test too. He seemed like he had met cats before. He was cautiously curious but stayed out of reach of the cat. When the cat hissed and slapped toward him, Dusty yelped and leaped back even though the cat hadn't even come close to touching him. After that he didn't even want to look at the cat. He knows his name and knows "No" and responds right away to any correction. He is very loving and loves to be with his family and will stand next to you for head and back rubs. Sweet boy! His trainer said he was always good in the kennel in the 2 plus years that she had him. He was very good-natured, so much so that he got peed on in turn out by a few of the other boys and he never took offense. |
