Adoption Status: Adopted by the Grimes family of Concord NC, 12.26.20

Vrod just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track. He raced all of his 145 races there. He wasn't a great racer but won and placed enough to keep his career going and did get up to the top A level briefly. He raced at 71lbs and will turn 4 on November 27th. Vrod is a gorgeous black brindle boy with very few gold stripes. Very striking and unusual. Vrod's sire is Vina Marina and his dam is Summer Song. He was vetted at the track vet before coming to us. Vrod passed his initial cat and small dog tests at the track without much interest in either. He was very excitable around the cat in his foster home though so we moved him to a foster home with no kitties and feel he would do better in an adoptive home without cats. He does do fine with small dogs though. Vrod loves to play with toys and is very social and loving. He is so sweet that his first foster family planned to keep him if he had been able to live with their kitty.

Fostered by (location):

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Hughey family, 12.21.20

John retired in March of 2020. was raised at the Plum Creek Farm and raced most of his career at the Celtic Hounds kennel at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He was pretty good getting up to the top A level there and winning. He was moved to Southland in Arkansas, a faster track with tougher competition. When he wasn't doing real well there, he was moved back to Orlando. He has a 125 races. John's sire is the famous BD's Grayson and his dam is Copy Cat. He is a mid sized male racing at 75lbs. He will turned 4 on December 20th. John passed his cat and small dog tests with just some initial curiosity, then lost interest quickly. He should be fine to live with either. He is a very happy friendly guy with a bounce in his step. His trainer says he is a total love bug. He was also called Johnny Boy at the kennel sometimes. John was adopted in March of 2020 and his name was changed to Boss. He is looking for a new home now because the female greyhound in his home never really liked having him there. His owners hoped she would gradually get better with him, but she bossed him around, bothered him trying to get him to play and wouldn't allow him to run in the yard, play with her toys or be around 'her' people. Boss would like a home as an only dog or with an older, calm dog that isn't bossy or overly playful. He does love to run in the yard, just a few laps. He plays with stuffed toys for a couple of minutes, then is done. He is wonderful with people, very loving and couldn't be any sweeter. His owner says he is the sweetest soul he has ever met and his foster mom agrees. It was a very hard, emotional decision for his owners to give him up. Boss liked the grandkids of his owners ages 3, 6 and 11 and has always been good with them.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Robertson-Hood Family of Savannah GA, 12.21.20

Justin, the girl with the boy name, just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Fl. She was vetted before coming to us by the track adoption kennels vet. Day raced 115 races starting out her career at Southland in Arkansas. From there she moved to Orlando and was a top A level racer there until they closed. Then she was moved to Orange Park to finish her career. She started slowing down but did manage to win her very last race at D level. Justin is a sweet girl that is very quiet and calm. She might be OK to live in an apartment because she is so quiet and good in her kennel. Justin was a little overwhelmed at first and needed about a week to really get comfortable. She has gotten very sweet and friendly once she was more relaxed. Justin can still be a little jumpy with fast movements or things that scare her. She eats well and seems very food motivated. Justin loves to go for walks. She was intimidated and a little afraid of the cat she met and has been great with the small white dog in her foster home. Justin just turned 4 on October 12th. Her sire is the famous KC and All and her dam is Under The Stars. When Justin arrived her muzzle said 'Day' on it so we were calling her that and she seemed to respond to that. Later we found out from a past trainer that she was called Justin since she was a small puppy so she appears to know both names.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Wagner family of CA and NC 12/21/20

Muffin came in from the Roban farm in Florida. She just turned 2. She never raced because she was born with knees that weren't formed right and was unable to run competitively. She plays and has a good time with other dogs and it doesn't seem to cause her any pain though.  Our vets X-rayed her back legs, checked her over and don't believe that she needs treatment at this time. We don't have much info on her since she never was registered to race. She came in for one of our adopters that met her on a trip to the farm and wanted to adopt her. She is not available at this time. She does have tattoos in her ears.

She got ear tattoos at 3 months but never was registered and given a racing name at around a year old like most greyhounds. Because of this we don't have much info on her. She is not available at this time. She was picked out by one of our adopters that met her while visiting the greyhound farm. She came in specifically for her. Bluebird just turned 2 on December.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Feinman family of Lexington SC, 12.19.20

Aspen just arrived from the Running to Stand Still Farm in Florida. Due to the Florida tracks closing she is not going to be able to race. She is young and just turned 1 year old on August 3rd. She was tattooed but never finished the registration process to get a racing name and has just been known as Aspen her entire life. Her sire is Makeshift and her dam is Lily Langtree. Since she never raced, we don't have a racing weight for her. She arrived with her littermate Lily. We can place the two girls together, but if placed together they have to be the only dogs in the family. Together, they gang up and bully other dogs according to their owner. They do better playing with other dogs when they are separated. Aspen is very friendly and happy girl. She is young and hasn't had the normal training that greyhounds get at the track. She needs work on her leash walking skills and manners. Aspen passed her cat test and small dog tests easily, so should do fine living with either. She is very young and playful so is going to want to play with any dog in the family. Because of the size difference, play should be discouraged between her and a small dog. Aspen will be vetted at Oasis Animal Hospital in Mauldin. Be sure to look at Aspen's photos to see some our volunteers took of her on the farm when she was 3 months old.

Blade came in from the Roban Farm in Florida. She never went to the race track and never raced. Her owner said she would rather play with the other dogs than chase the lure. She weighed in at 62lbs when she arrived. Blade passed her cat and small dog tests without much interest in either. She is friendly and happy after she warms up, but she can be very timid at first. Her first trip off the farm where she was born was very stressful and overwhelming for her. She has warmed up to her foster family after a few days and has shown her playful silly side. She loves to run in the yard, but only for a short while and then she spends most of the day sleeping. Blade won't be 2 until November 1st. She has not had an accident, not chewed anything, no counter surfing, and has been quiet in the crate. She does not like staircases but has done OK on just 4 steps going down to a potty area. Blade never got an official racing name, but was tattooed at 3 months old. Her tattoos are 118B 73078. Her sire is Pat C Clement and her dam is Lily Langtry. Blade was vetted at Oasis Animal Hospital in Mauldin. Blade was in a home with an elderly lady for a couple of months and was mostly good but pawed at her for attention and when she was playful. That was hard on her owners very fragile skin so she has made the decision to re-home her.

Pops just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. He only won one of his 7 races there and finished last or near the back the rest of the time. He was retired young and won't turn 2 until March 26th. Pop weighs 83lbs so he is an extra large male. His sire is the very famous Flying Hydrogen and his dam is Braska Star. He has just been vetted at our vets in the Augusta area. Pop's foster mom says he is very chill and very loving. He passed his cat test at the track and showed no interest in the cats at the vets office either. He should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. He gets along with the greyhounds in his foster home and has had no accidents in the house so far. He doesn't like stairs but can do the 3 coming into the house. He is quiet so could be an apartment dog if the apartment was on the ground floor. Even though he is a big guy, he is very good on leash and doesn't pull. He hasn't tried to get on the furniture in his foster home and has been very well behaved. He likes to be near people and will follow from room to room. Pops is very cute with big Groucho Marx black eyebrows. He travels well and loves to chase balls.

Kat came in from the Brindle Kennel at the Palm Beach Race Track. Her racing owner is one of our group's volunteers and she asked us to help her place Kat. Her owner recently broke her back and can't bring in a new dog into her home right now. Kat was not a good racer. Out of her 66 races she only won one race and came in 2nd in one. Kat raced at 66lbs and is very young. She turns 2 on November 15th. Kat is definitely not a Devil Kat and is a really timid shy girl that is very overwhelmed by being in a home for the first time and being away from her littermates and trainer at the track. She is going to take a bit to warm up to a new environment and people she doesn't know. Her new family will need to be patient with her as she warms up. She needs a quiet home and they should expect her to take a few weeks to warm up to them, if not longer. Her foster thinks she would do best with experienced greyhound owners that have worked with shy dogs before. Kat passed her small dog tests and did fine with the kids she met, but if placed with children she would need to be around calm, quiet, kids only because noisy toys and running and yelling would definitely scare her. Kat is a gorgeous fawn girl with golden eyes and lots of dark eyeliner. Just gorgeous!

He was completely healed up before we picked him up at the track adoption kennel and shows no sign of an injury now. Adieu is a gorgeous brindle guy with lots of white. White stockings, white chest, white spot on the back of his neck and a white blaze on his nose. Very flashy! Very sweet and friendly too. He passed his cat test without any interest and did fine with the small dog he met too. He is being fostered in a townhouse so may be OK for apartment or townhouse living. Adieu is a tiny guy, racing at just 64lbs. He will turn 3 on February 21st. Gift raced 50 races, starting her career at Orange Park, then Sarasota, Ebro, back to Sarasota and finally Sanford Orlando. Her last race was May 5th of 2017. She wasn't a very good racer, but some of her litter were superstars, including one brother who is now a stud dog. So Gift ended up being chosen to carry on the bloodline too. Some of her littermates were superstars at the track, so when Cinnamon retired from racing, she went back to the farm to be a mom. They didn't end up actually breeding her due to racing ending in Florida at the end of this year. Friday is a return that we were asked to assist with rehoming. He was originally adopted through God's Greyts in Florida but is located in our area now. Friday is a 72lb male that raced 48 races at the Sanford Orlando Race track. He was good, getting up to the top A level right before they closed permanently back in March. He was adopted then and has been living in a home with a lot of cats since then. His sire is the famous Djays Octane and his dam is WhiskeyBodacious. His whole litter was named for different Whiskeys. Friday turned 3 on February 27th. He is an energetic dog that will be a fun guy for a lucky family. Friday doesn't appear to have had any potty training, manners training or leash training yet, so just needs a family that has enough experience with dogs to teach him the basics and show him how he is supposed to act in a home. Although he hasn't shown any sign of food, space or any other type of aggression with our foster home, his previous owner said he did snap once, so we would prefer to place him in a home with no children. More as we get to know him.

Sherry is a 62lb black female that came in from the Bolton Farm in Florida. She was a very good racer that raced 104 races, mostly at the top A level. She also raced in a couple of Stakes races for the best racers at the track. Sherry retired back in July and was sent back to the farm to be a mom. Since the vote to end greyhound racing in Florida passed, her owners decided not to breed her and sent her to us to place. We have already placed several of her littermates. They are all very sweet dogs. Her sire is Golden Squire and her dam is B My Merlot. Sherry is a very friendly girl. We have followed her career closely and our volunteers visited her at the track so we have lots of photos of her. Be sure to check out her other photos to see a few of them. Whoever adopts this girl will inherit a lot of pictures. Sherry was adopted in November of 2019 but is available again. Her family had several small kids and Sherry liked them at first but has grown less tolerant of the fast movements and loud noises that kids make over the year she has been there. She is stressed and unhappy there so they decided to rehome her. Sherry is looking for another family without small kids.

Love just arrived from the Orange Park Race Track. She never actually raced. She had a minor shoulder injury in schooling in July so went back to the Bolton farm in Florida for a few weeks to rest and rehab. After she healed up and went back into schooling, she twisted her hock. Although it was not broken, it was pretty sore. The decision was made to retire her rather than risking any further injury. We have quite a few photos of her because she was one of the racers a group of our volunteers followed online since her owners bought her at auction. Love is a sweet girl that seems very laid back and very loving. She passed her cat with only a couple of quick sniffs and would jump away if the cat approached her so she should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. Her sire is Gigawatt and her dam is KB's Rae Bae. She weighs around 60lbs but doesn't have an official racing weight since she never got that far. She just turned 2 on August 23rd. Our vet has looked at her leg and doesn't see any obvious lameness and the swelling has gone down already, so she should recover fully.

Yolo raced her entire career of 67 races at Orange Park. She wasn't a very good racer and only won 2 of her races at the lowest D level. Yolo is a tiny girl that raced at just 57lbs. She turned 3 on June 26th. Her sire is GS Taylor and her dam is GS Casey. Yolo passed her cat and small dog tests at the track so should be able to live with either. Yolo seems pretty confident and friendly. She had no problem with stairs the first time she tried them. Yolo seems to be a pretty laid back girl that is just as cute as she can be.

Special Needs! Tad came in from the Blanchard Kennels at Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. She didn't actually race there though. She actually raced at Blanchard Kennels at Wheeling Downs in WV first, then was moved to their kennel at Tri-State in WV. Tad raced 103 races and did get up to the top AA level at Tr-State so was a good racer. She just turned 4 on May 25th and raced at 61lbs. Her sire is NMS Sweet Thing and her dam is Boc's Posh Spice. Tad was a little shy and overwhelmed when she arrived but does warm up pretty fast and loves her people deeply. She passed her cat test with just some sniffing and would back away from the cat when it approached and rubbed on her. She lived in a home with a cat and was afraid of it. Tad came in with a note attached to her paperwork from her trainer: "Tad is very special, she's a little strange but awesome". Tad is special needs because she has pretty severe separation anxiety. She needs to be crated when left to keep her from being destructive and going potty in the house, but she is very loud in the crate and hates it. Since she is loud in the crate she definitely couldn't live in a townhouse or apartment. She needs to have blankets as padding in her crate rather than a dog bed, because she likes to unstuff dog beds when left alone. Although she passed her small dog test, she can be bossy with other dogs small and large so may do better as an only dog. Having another dog in the home to hang out with when left doesn't seem to help her separation anxiety. Tad has been returned a couple of times now due to her separation anxiety. She is looking for a quiet home that has people home most of the time that can spend time working with her and help her get over her separation anxiety. She can have tummy issues, but since retirement has been on a lamb based food. She has also been able to eat fish treats, beef, pasta, and milkbones. She was fed a mostly beef diet at the track. Tad has been living in a home without a fenced yard and does potty well on leash. She loves to run and play at the dog park, so would do great in a home with a fenced yard too. She loves to go for car rides and will jump right in the car on her own. She loves kids and seems drawn to them, but since she can be bossy with other dogs, we would prefer to place her in a home with no small kids.

Fudge wasn't a good racer so retired early after only 22 races. He stayed in maiden (races for dogs that have never won a race) for 20 races. Then won one, but finished toward the back of the pack at the lowest D levels so was retired after just 2 more races. Fudge raced at 73lbs so is a mid sized male. He turned 2 on August 3rd. His sire is the famous Dragon Fire and his dam is Caramel Delight. Fudge passed his cat and small dog tests at the track so should be able to live with either. Fudge is adaptable, loving, gentle, playful- just goes with the flow. His personality just draws you in. He walks well on leash too. His foster home is working on teaching him not to counter surf, but that seems to be his only small flaw.

Special Needs Heart Problems! Bones came in from the Daytona Beach Track Closing. He raced at the Waverider Kennel there. He raced 94 races there, and did race a couple at Orange Park early on too. He wasn't real good and only won a few at the lower levels of racing. He just turned 3 on Feb 1st and raced at 73lbs. His sire is the famous Barcelona Boss and his dam is B's Elite Wendy. Bones passed his initial cat test with some sniffing and then lost interest but was too interested in cats when meeting them later so at this point he probably would do better in a home with no cats. He is a friendly guy that has a wonderful personality. Bones seems smart and picks up things fast. When he came in he excitedly pulled on leash checking everything out. After just a little coaching he started walking nicely on leash. Although Bones was used to being around and handled by the 5 kids of his trainer at the track, he did not like the kids in his first home so is back looking for a home with no kids. When Bones arrived our vets noticed that he had a significant heart murmur, enlarged heart and an irregular heart beat. He has been seen by a specialist at Upstate Specialists and does have what looks like genetic heart problems that are likely to continue to get worse and shorten his life. It is amazing that he was able to race and that his heart held up to that strenuous activity. We are starting him on a medication that will slow his progression into Congestive Heart Failure. Once he gets into Congestive heart failure he will have 8 to 10 months. We do not know how long he will have with the medication. Bones is just the sweetest guy and loves adults. He is still goofy, playful and fun and everyone that has met him has fallen in love with him. Our vet suggested limiting playtime to 10 minutes and no lure chasing or really strenuous play. Bones is a special guy that deserves a very special home for whatever time he has left.  NOTE!  Because of his status as Special Needs, interested adopters do not have to be on the waiting list and his adoption fee is reduced to help his new family.

Guru just arrived from Lester Raines Kennel at Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Florida. He raced 64 races mainly at the Sanford Orlando Race track where he ran in Bolton Kennel. When that track closed, he was moved to Jacksonville. He was a good racer racing at the top A level in Orlando. He jammed his ankle in his last race so they decided to retire him even though it could easily heal up with a couple of months break from racing. There are only about 10 weeks of racing left in Florida so they decided to just retire him. His ankle is already doing really well. He just shouldn't run around for another month or so to make sure it is totally healed. Guru is pretty friendly but can be slightly timid at first in new situations. He was a bit nervous when confronted by a friendly cat and tried to hide in the curtains. Was a little hesitant to approach the small dog too but did eventually get brave enough to sniff. Guru is a mid sized guy that raced at 75lbs. He just turned 3 on August 6th. His sire is the famous KC and All and his dam is Sav Anna. He looks like he was the only pup in his litter and he was born at Plum Creek farm. More as we get to know him

Sully just arrived from Greyhounds As Pets of NE Florida. They are the track adoption group for the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville FL. She was vetted in Jacksonville with their vet. Sully raced only 3 of her 62 races at Orange Park. She raced the rest of her races at the Sanford Orlando track and was moved to Orange Park after Orlando closed in March. It took Sully 21 Maiden races (races for dogs that have never won a race) to actually win a race. She stayed at the lowest D level for quite a few races and gradually figured it out and got up to B level. When she started coming in last place in her races again she was retired in September. Sully is a fuzzy dark brindle girl that will turn 3 November 18th. She raced at 60lbs. Her sire is Rocksteady Eddie and her dam is Dakotas Peggey. We placed a fully brother from a different litter recently named Rainydayadventur. Sully passed her small dog test and seems to like the kids she met. She was too interested in chasing cats so needs a home without kitties. Sully is sweet, affectionate and loves to play with toys. She was very noisy in her kennel at first and would howl when left alone so probably wouldn't be a good apartment dog. Gradually she got better and was able to stay quiet in her kennel after a few days in her foster home. More as we get to know her.

He never had an official race because he was never able to win a maiden race. He only did 5 maiden races that are for new racers that have never won a race. Once they win a maiden race they become an official racer. Linus is a 77lb black male that turned 2 on July 29th. His sire is the famous SH Avatar and his dam is Litemyfuse. Linus has too much prey drive to live with kitties and did not pass his cat test. He should be OK to live with small dogs because he has done well with the ones he has met on walks around the neighborhood.  He is a very sweet, friendly guy that loves to give kisses and is very gentle and affectionate. Linus is very outgoing and wants to go see every person he sees on walks. He loves the water and loves his walks. Every morning he wakes his foster dad up by putting his paws on his chest and kissing his neck then just snuggles his face on his chest. He still needs to be tested with kids.

He retired back in March and was with Greyhounds As Pets of North East Florida, the track adoption group, until coming to us. He still needs to be tested with cats but has done fine with the dogs he has met. Inkster's sire is the famous SH Avatar and his dam is Pat C Bs Calamus. He just turned 4 on August 9th. Inkster's foster mom says he is an old soul. He hasn't had one accident in the house and tells her when he needs to go outside. He walks really well on leash. He was so relaxed that he was laying on a dog bed with all 4 feet in the air the first day in a home. He loves people and is very sweet and gentle. He loves to snuggle and is just so sweet. Inkster came to us with one toe gone from a previous toe injury that needed amputation. That doesn't bother him at all anymore, but he had another swollen toe that our vet was worried about. It turned out to just be an abscess that needed to be drained and another amputation was not required. He just had that done on Sept 14th and will be on a medical hold until his stitches come out and he is done with the antibiotics. He should be ready to go home around October 1st.

Echo is a return that is coming in with her littermate Tone because their owner just passed away suddenly. Tone and Echo raced separately, but have bonded since they have gotten back together. We would like to place them in a home where they can stay together. Echo raced 75 races, mainly in Orlando but also a few in Palm Beach. She got up to the top A level briefly so was pretty good but her brother, Tone, was the faster of the two and raced at the more competitive track. Echo last raced in May of 2018 and was adopted in December of 2018, her brother was added to the family a month later in January of 2019. The dogs had a wonderful owner that made sure they had the best of everything. Their vacations were even planned around where the dogs could go. Echo raced at 56lbs and will turn 6 on December 8th. Her sire is Talbon and her dam is Bakin. Echo's previous home had no cats, small dogs or kids so they will need to be tested with them before placement. Echo is a very shy girl. She will cautiously approach you for attention but if you go towards her she will back away. She will need some time to warm up to her new family. She seems pretty overwhelmed and nervous at first with new people and in a new environment. Having her more confident brother around really seems to help her.

She likes toys and tries to get the small dog in her foster home to play but he is older and just not interested. She seems like a friendly happy sweet girl and will get up in your lap if allowed. Very social, curious and silly. Great with the toddler she has spent time with too.

Adoption Status: Adopted the Mangino family of Atlanta GA, 9/18/20

Sookie just arrived after spending more than a week in a Gaffney SC shelter. She was found running loose and was picked up. She was identified by the tattoos in her ears. Sookie had been adopted years ago in Florida by Greyhounds As Pets of NE Florida and that adoption group contacted her owners. The owners decided not to pick her up from the shelter, so we were asked to help with rehoming her. Sookie is a sweet older lady that is 10 years old now. She is a tiny girl that raced at just 57lbs. She turned 10 on May 12th. Her sire is Fuzzy's Cannon and her dam is WBF Sugar Buzz. Her foster family says she is a happy, friendly girl that is well behaved and pretty spunky for an older lady. She has been into our vet at Oasis Animal Hospital in Mauldin and has been given a clean bill of health. She had not had good dental care and had to have most of her teeth removed but other than that she is healthy and very happy. Because she is a senior she qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $250. More as we get to know her.

Effie and her best friend Stormy are returns from the same household due to a divorce. They were very loved but neither of their family members could care for them with their work schedules on their own. Both girls are very bonded and need to stay together. They lived with cats and small dogs in their home and also lived with some special needs children as well. They are good with everything and very sweet. The adoption group that initially placed them has gone out of business so we were asked to help rehome them. Effie raced 37 races in Birmingham AL before retiring in October of 2019. She has been in her adoptive home since then. She is a playful friendlygirl. She raced at 63lbs and will turn 3 on October 6th. Her sire is Crown And Crest and her dam is DKC Good Girl. More as we get to know her and Stormy.

Stormy just arrived with her best friend Effie. They are both returns from a divorce situation. They were very loved by their family but their schedules make it to where neither can care for the dogs by themselves. Stormy and Effie are very bonded and need to be placed together. Stormy raced 77 races at the Palm Beach Race Track. She was good getting up to A level and was racing in A level in her last race in October of 2019 when she broke her leg. Stormy's leg has been long healed but she still favors it some even a year later. She was sent to the Birmingham AL track adoption group who got her leg fixed and initially placed her. They asked us to help with rehoming her. Stormy is very sweet and friendly. She is very food oriented and doesn't like to share with other dogs so needs to be fed separately. Stormy turned 3 on January 10th. Her sire is Coldwater Keelin and her dam is Royal Mosiac. Stormy has lived with cats, small dogs and small children with special needs in her previous home. She was great with everyone and everything. More as we get to know her.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Schlentner family of Bluffton, SC 9/13/20

Diamond just arrived from the Roban Farm in Florida. She never raced or even made it as far as a race track. She got her foot caught in a fence and they decided to let her go directly to a pet home, rather than waiting to see if it healed up well enough to race. Diamond is very young and just turned 1 year old on March 5th. Her sire is Superior Panama and her dam is Kells California. Her foot seemed to already be healing pretty well when we got her and she was putting weight on it most of the time. Diamond has been cleared by our vet to be adopted now. She has a great happy personality and is really sweet. She is playful and loves to snuggle. More as we get to know her.

Fostered by (location):

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Spieler Family of Hendersonville NC 9/12/20

Freebird just arrived from the Blanchard Kennel at the Orange Park Race track in Jacksonville FL. She raced most of her races in WV at the Tri State and Wheeling tracks. She was a fantastic racer getting up to the top AA level in Wheeling and that is one of the most competitive tracks. Freebird started slowing down and was sent to Jacksonville in June to see if she could be competitive there. She pulled up and stopped in her last race on August 9th so was retired. Freebird is a stunning tall narrow girl that raced at an XL 71lbs. She is all legs and very tall for a girl and even taller than most boys. Freebird turned 3 on January 19th. Her sire is the very famous Trent Lee and her dam is Easi Play. Freebird is a happy, very outgoing girl. She is missing half her tail, probably because she wags it so much. Greyhounds that are very waggy commonly injure their tails and end up having to have a partial tail amputation. The greyhound community even call it "happy tail". Freedom passed her cat test here without much interest other than a quick sniff. She was much more interested in eating the cat's food. At the track she was more interested in the cat during her test so since she showed interest in one cat we listed her as trainable instead of cat friendly even though she showed no interest in our cat. Freebird is very food motivated so may be great for obedience, agility or trick training. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes too. A really sweet girl.
