Diesel is a very friendly, black male with a lot of personality. He raced at 77lbs. He is very playful and loving. He will bounce around happily and loves to play with people or toys. Diesel turned two on July 22nd and his sire is Tyrur Alex and his dam is Git N Dizzy. He had a very short racing career of just 4 races at Southland in Arkansas. We think he will be wonderful with older kids because of his happy, playful personality. We think he will do better with kids above toddler age though, because he is so playful and might bump into them while being silly. He did great on his test with small dogs and still needs tested with cats. If he is adopted in the Charlotte, NC area his racing owner and current foster home offers free dog sitting for him!! This is a fun boy that will bring a lot of fun and silliness to some lucky family. He is a good boy that his foster family really loves. Diesel is very curious about he cats but his foster home feels he is likely to be trainable with them and is going to work with him with them.

His sire is the very famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Akoya Pearl. Picasso is a littermate to a dog we already place named Nefarious. Picasso is a tall boy that is very sweet and loving. Very friendly! He passed his cat and small dog tests so should be fine living with either. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with toys. He is playful and seems like he would be an easy, well behaved boy that would be great for a first time greyhound adopter.

Cat Tolerance:

Small Dog Tolerance:

Fostered by (location):

Adoption Status: Adopted Przybylowski Family of Spartanburg SC 1/11/14

Caleb is a return that came in after living in an adoptive home for about 2 years. He was originally adopted from an adoption group up North. Their family had to return them to us because one of their family members was allergic to them. Caleb is a gorgeous light fawn with black stripes. He raced at 71lbs so is a mid sized guy. He just turned 6 on October 4th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his Dam is Craigie Maxi. He is friendly, sweet and already home acclimated. He is used to being around the children in his previous home so should be great for a home with kids. He does great at meet and greets, greeting everyone happily. He will give kisses and loves to be petted and loved on. We initially thought he had too high a prey drive to live with smaller dogs because he would bark excitedly at other breeds of dogs so we never let him approach them. We finally actually let him sniff some small chi mix dogs and he was fine after the initial sniff and lost interest. Now we think he just had no idea they were dogs. He will still need an introduction to strange dogs because he still barks but he seems to be good with other breeds once he gets over his initial excitement and knows they are actually dogs. Caleb has wonderful house manners, crates well and is quiet in his crate and sleeps all night in his crate. He does bark some mainly when he gets excited about seeing other dogs or small critters so may not be a good apartment dog. He does potty on leash well so doesn't require a fenced yard if you are willing to leash walk. This is a sweet guy that has been looking for a home for more than 6 months now.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Lewis Family of Columbia 1/5/14

Graphite is a littermate to Cobalt that came through our program earlier this year. His trainers say he is just like his brother, very nice, friendly and sweet. He raced 51 races. Most of his races were at the Sanford Orlando Race Track but he also raced for a little while at the Sarasota Race Track. He turned 2 on May 21st. Sire is Fuzzys Cannon, Dam is Greys Redington. Graphite is a tiny boy that is smaller than most of our girls and weighed in at 63lbs at his last vet appointment. Graphite was a little interested in the cats he met at the vet clinic but corrected easily so may be trainable. He's happy, playful, and curious about everything around him in an adorable "puppy" way, but he's not hyper or destructive. He potties well on leash and is quiet in his kennel so may be the perfect dog for apartment living. He was sweet to both greyhounds in his first foster home and never had a single potty accident there. He travels well and likes to go. He can be just a little shy at first when meeting strangers, preferring to approach quietly and gently until he gets to know you but is the type that will warm up fast and be your best friend. Graphite is a sweet little baby of a greyhound who's ready to meet the perfect family.

Piper raced 103 races all at Wheeling Downs in WV. She is a tiny black female that raced at just 55 lbs. In spite of her small size she was a pretty good racer. Piper will turn 5 on Dec 15th so had a long racing career. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Odd Garbo. She is a littermate to Carte Blanche that we placed. Her trainer says that she is a pretty high energy for a greyhound and the name Hyper might fit her better than Piper. More as we get to know her.
