Robbie is a handsome white boy with a few black spots. He came in from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He raced at 72lbs and will turn 4 on August 21st. He is tall and narrow for his weight. He raced 117 races at Orlando and also Birmingham and Sarasota. He got up to B level and won some races and placed in a lot more. His sire is Rhythmless and his dam is Al Kiowa Carbon. Robbie seems like a friendly guy that likes people. He loves the girl dogs and spends most of his time flirting without much success. He doesn't give up easily even when faced with total rejection. Robbie is a sweet boy that just wants a little love. He can be a bit dramatic and squealed when he got a pill even though he didn't flinch when he got his vaccinations. Robbie passed his cat and small dog tests easily. He is not going to be a good apartment dog because he does bark some in his kennel. |

Chrissy is a tiny 45lb brindle female greyhound that arrived with her sister Janet from the Roban Farm in Florida. She is one of the very tiniest greyhounds we have ever placed. Her sister Janet was the same size and has already been placed. Chrissy is a young pup that just turned 2 on March 2nd. She just didn't show much interest in chasing the lure so retired before ever making it to the race track. Her sire is M's Free Mason and her dam is M's Free Action. Chrissy is very shy, what we call a spook. Spooks are genetically shy dogs that seem to have an anxiety disorder that causes them to be afraid of anything new. This type of behavior is not related to abuse and Chrissy came from a very nice farm and was treated very well. This is just her personality so it isn't something that is going to just go away in a month or two with attention and love. Chrissy just shies away or runs away from things she is afraid of and has never shown any inclination to defend herself. She will warm up to her owners and be comfortable in her new home eventually, but it will take a long time, months to a year. She is likely to always be afraid of strangers and terrified outside of her own home, so is going to prefer to be a homebody. Chrissy gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home with a more confident dog that she could follow. Because she is so jumpy, Chrissy is going to be afraid of fast moving, loud little children and would do better with calm, older children or in a home with no children. She will need a very patient family that will love her as she is and give her the time she needs to trust them and get comfortable. Chrissy has been in a foster care for over 5 months waiting on someone to adopt her. She has warmed up to her foster dad with time and encouragement and now sleeps on the bed with him. Chrissy snuggles with him on the couch and does a cute playful bark at dinner time to remind him to feed her. She initiates play now and brings him toys, but it took months to get to that point. Spooks are so rewarding when they do finally come around. They become very bonded to their family once they trust them. If you want a very tiny girl and are willing to give Chrissy time to love you, she will be a very devoted girl and good pet. |

Milkyway just arrived from the Birmingham Race Track. He also raced at Sanford Orlando in FL. He never was very fast and only won 2 races out of 31. He retired on March 7th. Milkyway is a young guy that just turned 2 on December 2nd. His sire is Hi Noon Renegade and his dam is SL Ava. He is a gorgeous brindle male with cute stand up ears and white feet. Milkyway is a calm, friendly, guy that is very quiet in his kennel. He may be a good choice for apartment or townhouse living because he is so quiet. He passed his cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either. More as we get to know him. |

Jojo came in from the Sanford Orlando Race Track in Florida. She raced 108 races at Orlando, Flagler, and Naples Ft Myers. Jojo was pretty good racing at the top A level a lot of the time. She just turned 4 on April 18th. Her sire is Fuzzys Cannon and her dam is Flat Out Uma. We placed one of her littermates Fuzzys Uma earlier so are excited to get Jojo too. We also placed a half brother by the same mom AJN Cowboy Drive. Both are wonderful, friendly, loving pets. Jojo raced at 63lbs. Jojo is a friendly, calm girl that follows you around and stares up into your eyes to get attention. She doesn't seem to be real confident and seems like she tries to do the right thing. Jojo passed her cat and small dog tests easily so should be fine to live with either. Jojo has a very unusual patch of white hair on her shoulder that makes her a one of a kind. |

Daisey just arrived from the Melbourne Race track. She is a very young girl that won't turn 2 until Sept 15th. She is a large girl that is 70lbs. She has 5 schooling races listed but didn't do well in any of them so she was retired before she had her first actual race. Her sire is the famous Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Superior Larue. She passed her cat test so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. Daisey is doing great in her foster home. Friendly and loving and very sweet. She would love to be allowed up on the bed or couch to lay close to her people. Sweet sweet girl that loves carrying stuffed animals around the house with her. |

Eli is a red fawn male greyhound that came in from the Melbourne FL race track. He only raced 19 races, most of them at Derby Lane in FL. He only won one of those races and usually finished toward the back of the pack. Eli is a mid-sized guy racing at 74lbs. He is young and just turned 2 on January 15th. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Global Crash. Eli is a happy, friendly, guy that has been good with the small dogs he has met. He is a very confident guy and since he is young has some energy. He plays in short bursts but calms down very nicely and sleeps most of the day like the typical greyhound. He is doing very well in his foster home with the other greyhounds there. Eli was a little growly over his space when laying down at first, but is doing fine now. Because of that, we think he would do better in a home with no kids or older kids old enough to understand the old saying "Let a sleeping dog lie." |

Frosty just arrived from the Birmingham Race Course. She moved there after racing at Tuscon then Palm Beach. She doesn't actually have any races listed at the Birmingham Track, so was retired just after she arrived on February 15th. She mainly raced at the lower C and D levels. She is a small, red, girl that raced at just 55lbs. Frosty will turn 3 on August 2nd. She has cute floppy ears. Her sire is Coldwater Torres and her dam is Cruzin the City. Frosty passed her cat and small dog tests. She is very quiet in her crate so should be OK for apartment or townhouse living. She is a friendly girl that can be a bit dramatic. She will yelp or even give the greyhound scream of death if she thinks something might hurt her. |

Party is coming to us from the Melbourne Race Track. He is a dark brindle boy with lighter fawn stripes. Party is a smaller male racing at 68lbs. He traveled around a lot and raced at several tracks starting out at Southland in AR. Then he moved to Wheeling Downs in WV, and from there to Florida to race at Naples Ft Myers, Flagler, then back to Naples Ft Myers and then to Melbourne. He mostly raced at the lower levels of C and D and has 102 races to his credit. His sire is Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Barts Anxious. We adopted out his littermate Hey Pretty Girl recently and she is a great pet. Party passed his cat test so should be fine living with cats or small dogs. More as we get to know him. |

Remus initially came in from the Southland Race Track where he raced 67 races. He was a big star there, racing at the top AA level and even competing in a Stakes race. Southland is the highest paying track in the country where the best dogs race so he was the best of the best! He raced at 69lbs so is a smaller red male. His sire is BD's Herby and his dam is My Heroine. He will turn 4 on May 20th. Remus is a very friendly guy that hasn't met a stranger. He travels very well and likes to go for rides. He was initially very interested in the cat until the cat slapped him and then didn't want to get near the cat again. So we think he would probably be OK in a home with a confident cat with supervision at first. He was curious about the little white dog he met at first too but just sniffed and figured out right away that it was another dog and then lost interest. Remus is very quiet and lived for awhile in an apartment until his owner had to move for work to another country and was unable to take him with him. He pulls some on the leash when he is excited so needs a little work on that. He does potty well on leash and is used to being walked for potty breaks since he didn't have access to a fenced area at the apartment. He does stairs well. Remus is pretty active for a greyhound and likes to play and go for walks. He is a very confident guy. |

He raced mainly at the lower levels only winning a few races and mostly placing. His sire is the famous Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Time For Diamond. He will turn 4 on July 5th. He passed his cat test so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. More as we get to know him. |

Avenger is a small brindle female that raced at 57lbs. She only raced 10 races at Palm Beach, then Daytona Beach and finally Melbourne in Florida. She only won one race and came in 2nd in one. In the rest she was toward the back of the pack. Her sire is Flyin Man Of God and her dam is Rico's Candoni. Avenger just turned 2 on March 18th. She has not been cat or small dog tested yet and we have no info on her personality. More as we get to know her. |

Kama just arrived from the Birmingham Race Track after a very long career of 233 races. She was pretty good there getting up to the top A level. She raced until February 12th well into her 5th year which is very unusual. Most retired well before that. Kama is almost 6 and will celebrate her birthday on July 5th. Her sire is the famous Flying Penske and her dam is CW Firefly. She passed her small dog test but still needs tested with cats. She was picked out by one of our adopters on a recent visit to the track and is not available for adoption. |

Addie Bug is a 58lb white female with black spots. Her sire is Megabyte Drive and her Dam is PDH Skidaddy. She originally cam from the Melbourne Adoption Kennel. She actually raced all over Florida though. In Sarasota, Pensacola, Derby Lane, Flagler, Naples Ft Myers, Ebro and Melbourne tracks. She raced 147 races and won 18 of those races. Addie Bug turns 6 on May 26th. She passed her small dog tests so should be ok to live with small dogs but she needs a home without cats. Addie Bug walks nicely on leash and is a happy, friendly girl going up to people she meets for attention. She is a natural sitter too. Most greyhounds are not comfortable in a sit. We have Addie Bug listed as older children only because, like a lot of dogs, she doesn't like to be bothered when sleeping or laying down. She would do best in a home with older kids that could understand not to bother her when she is sleeping. |

She raced most of her races in Birmingham and did get up to the top A level there. Her last race was an A race on December 12th. She raced 154 races. Myrtle's sire is Afleet Alex and her dam is Kiowa WW Mother. More as we get to know her |

Sam is a very handsome boy that is almost entirely white with just a few black spots and lots of smaller freckles on his skin that show through his white fur. He is a very striking greyhound. His sire is Tims Crow and his dam is Red Hot Victory. Sam raced at 74lbs so is a mid sized guy. He has put on some extra weight during his retirement so is on a diet now. He just turned 4 on October 1st. Sam is a happy guy with a lot of personality that loves everyone he meets and bonds strongly to his owners. He is very cute too with a curly tail that curls up over his back, which is unusual for a greyhound! Sam is a real social butterfly that has done great at meet and greets. He thinks he is the welcoming committee and makes sure everyone gets a chance to pet him. Sam raced at the Sanford Orlando race track and had 55 races listed. He was a good boy at the track kennel and came highly recommended as a nice pet by his trainers because of his outgoing fun personality. He passed his cat test so is OK to live with cats or smaller dogs. Sam has been in an adoptive home for over a year but he had separation anxiety most of that time as an only dog. He does fine around other dogs so just needs a home where he has at least one other dog for companionship. He has been noisy when left alone in his crate so wouldn't be the best dog for an apartment or townhouse. Sam is happy and bouncy but only for a short time and then calms down nicely and turns into a typical greyhound couch potato. Sam travels well and seems to love going places and absolutely LOVES meeting new people. He walks nicely on leash too. Sam is pretty perfect. |

Andy is a light fawn male greyhound that came in from the Orlando Track. He raced 4 maiden races in Palm Beach but didn't do well so he was moved to Orlando to try his luck there. Right after he arrived in Orlando he had a seizure at the end of June 2014. His racing owner retired him right away and they held him for a couple of weeks until we could get to Orlando to pick him up. Andy was with us for months and never had another seizure, so our vet advised us not to start him on the medication to prevent seizures unless he had another one. After he was adopted he had one seizure at the end of October and a couple more in December and a number in two days around Christmas. He was returned to us by his family because they didn't want to give him the inexpensive medication necessary to stop the seizures, even though they knew when they adopted him that he had had a seizure and would need medication if he ever had more. Our vet checked him as soon as he was returned and put him on Phenobarbital. He had one more seizure after a few days so Potassium Bromide was added. He has had no seizures since then in the last 2 months and our vets feel we have regulated his seizures and have released him for adoption. Andy is a very calm, well-behaved boy that is a beautiful light fawn with dark sabling on his face and neck. The medication does have a slightly sedating effect so he is going to be very calm and and more laid back than most greyhounds. Andy loves to go for walks and an occasional run in the yard. Andy is young and turned 2 on September 1st. He is a smaller guy, racing at 67lbs. His sire is Little Andy and his dam is Backwood Terri. He passed his small dog test and is doing great with small dogs in his foster home. Andy was interested in chasing the cats until one slapped him, then he panicked, slipped, and fell down trying to get away from the cats. We couldn't get him to go back near the cats again. So a home with a cat that would stand his ground should be all it would take for Andy to stay away from the cat permanently. Andy loves to go for rides in the car and will wait in the car for you happily when you run your errands. Andy is a very sweet, loving guy and his foster dad has been taking him to work with him every day. Everyone that meets him falls in love with his sweet loving personality. He was fostered with a 2 year old and loves kids. Andy can be a little noisy in his crate so would not be a good choice for apartment living. Andy does have an issue with pottying on leash- it takes him a very long time to go on leash, iF he goes at all. Andy seems to like his privacy and does much better when he can potty in a fenced yard off leash so he has to have a home with a fenced yard. One of Andy's former foster homes that has moved to Florida is coming back to adopt him! |

Copper is a beautiful fawn female greyhound that was a very good racer at Tri State in West Virginia. She got up to the highest AA level before she retired. She had an injury to her leg in her last race and had to have surgery to remove her dew claw before she was sent to us. She is fine and has been cleared by the vet for adoption. Copper raced 55 races. She will turn 3 on April 27th. Her sire is Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Amber Blossom. She raced at 62 pounds. Copper is a sweet friendly girl. She has been good with the children and small dogs she has met but still needs testing with cats. |

Beat is a beautiful, young, red, female greyhound that just arrived from Julia Ward's farm in Abilene Kansas. She just wasn't interested in racing or chasing the lure so she stayed on the farm and never completed the registration process and doesn't have a racing name. Her littermates, WW Don't Touch, WW's RightWithme and WWs Scramble are all racing now. Beat's sire is Gable Sour Cream and her dam is WWK Cold June. She is young and just turned 2 on December 23rd. Beat was also uninterested in chasing cats so easily passed her cat and small dog tests. She travels very well and just laid down and didn't seem to mind other dogs and humans stepping over her. She seems like a calm, friendly girl. Beat has a very fuzzy farm coat from spending a lot of time playing outside in the Kansas cold. It usually takes 2-3 months for that coat to be replaced by a sleek indoor coat. More as we get to know her. |

Spock is a small, handsome, black, male Greyhound that came straight from Mike Strickland's farm in Abilene, Kansas. Although his littermates are all good racers at Southland, Derby Lane and Daytona, his owner decided not to register Spock or race him. Even though Spock was very fast, he was nervous at the farm with new people and his owner didn't feel like he would do well at the end of the race when strangers tried to catch him. When we picked up Spock from the farm he came straight up to us and covered us with kisses and wagged so he may have overcome most of his shyness. He was great on the trip from Kansas and would grin and wag anytime anyone approached him. He is a greyhound grinner and grins when he is happy! He rarely tucked his tail, and was one of the friendlier dogs on the trip instead of being shy. His owner felt that he was too timid to be placed in a home with loud children that would grab him or scare him. So we are honoring that request, even though he doesn't seem to be the shy dog that we expected him to be. Spock is young and will turn 2 on May 1st. His littermates Splendor, Eyes Believe It, Eyes Command, Eyes Leading On and Eyes Slippery have just started their racing careers and are doing really well. Since Spock never finished the registration process and never got a racing name he isn't listed on the greyhound data database. We do know that his sire is the very famous Oshkosh Slammer and his dam is Whats Next. Spock travels well and gets along well with other dogs and passed his cat test with no interest. He is a very cute sweet boy that is going to be very loving to his new family. |

He never even completed the registration process and never was given a racing name. Maverick still has the fuzzy puppy coat from being outside a lot at the farm. His sire is WWs Cowboy and his dam is WW Kay Bud Light. He passed his cat and small dog tests and seems to like the children he has met, giving them gentle kisses and curiously following them around. He seems pretty calm for a young pup and he is friendly. Maverick was picked out by one of our families on a recent visit to the track and came back with them so is not available for adoption. |

He raced a few races at Orange Park and Sanford Orlando in Florida before being sent to Birmingham so spent more time traveling than racing. Mars sire is WW's Enlighten and his dam is WW Famous Marise. He is a smaller guy racing at 66lbs. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily. He is a friendly, quiet guy. He gets silly and bounces on leash so needs a little work on that. He travels very well. He is the rare greyhound that could be a watch dog. He has growled and barked a few times when he sees something outside that bothers him. |

He is pretty easy going and has no problem on slick floors. He has been fine with a smaller dog in his foster home too. His sire is KC and All and his dam is Coldwater Lori. Rum won't turn 3 until November 13th. More as we get to know him. |

Kristin came in from the Naples Ft. Myers Race Track where she raced just a few races. Most of her races were at Wheeling Downs Track in West Virginia. She had 48 races total but only won one of them that we could find. She placed mostly. Kristin raced at 62lbs. Her sire is the famous Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is RK's Jeopardy. Kristin will turn 3 on May 1st. Kristen was interested in the small dog she met at first but quickly realized what it was and then was fine. By the time we did her cat test, she just politely sniffed the cat and didn't appear interested at all. We have noticed that she responds with interest to movement of small critters so even though she easily passed her cat test she will need supervision at first around fast moving cats and small dogs until she gets used to seeing them. She was fostered with a small dog. Kristin can be loud in her kennel so may not be the best choice for apartment or townhome living. Kristin is a very friendly girl that loves people and loves attention. She is a natural sitter too. Kristin has been competing in 5Ks with her foster mom so would be a great choice for someone that likes to jog or hike with their dog. They have been the first human dog team to finish too! Update from her foster home! Kristin has displayed different responses to small dogs and cats, depending on the individual animals. We don't feel that she can be marked as safe because it may depend on each situation. She is good with children!

Waylon is a handsome male greyhound that retired from racing in March of 2015. He raced at Dubuque, Naples Ft Myers and Mardi Gras Race Tracks mainly at the lower levels. He managed to win 5 of his 40 races. Waylon just turned 3 on September 3rd. His sire is Red Rooster Bonz and his dam is Nervous Nannie. Waylon is a very happy sweet guy and has a lot of personality. He is very friendly and gives hugs as you can see in some of his photos. He raced at 75lbs so is a mid sized guy. He showed some initial interest in the cat but quickly lost interest and showed he was much more interested in getting love from people. We think he would do fine in a home with cats with proper supervision at first. He has been fine with the small dogs he has met. Waylon has very limited eyesight and has been diagnosed by a specialist with retinal degeneration. There are many possible causes of this including inflammatory disease, retinal detachment, genetic or autoimmune disease. Time will help determine if his vision will continue to decline or remain stable. There is no treatment. The retina cannot regenerate so the damage that has occurred is permanent. It is not painful and will not cause any other systemic or ocular disease. He is able to see light and dark and large shapes. He seems to be able to see the best outside in the yard on bright days and will run and play outside. Waylon takes it all in stride and doesn't mind having limited sight. He does very well in familiar areas and with a little help can navigate on walks out of his yard. Waylon has a go with the flow personality and doesn't let cloudy vision affect his happiness one bit. He is a very sweet happy boy that loves people and attention. |

He only raced 14 races before he retired and didn't win one of them. He usually came in toward the back of the pack. He raced at Wheeling in West Virginia, then was moved to Mardi Gras and finally Melbourne in hopes he could find some place he would be competitive. Godiva is a beautiful, tiny, dark brindle, female that initially came in from the Daytona Beach Kennel closing. She only raced 15 races at Mardi Gras and Sanford Orlando tracks and never actually raced at Daytona after she was moved there. She is a tiny little girl that raced at 55lbs. She is all legs and very petite. She turned 2 on June 6th. Her sire is Pat C Clement and her dam is TB's Holy Cow. She is a friendly girl that is very calm and quiet. Godiva is used to being around children because her trainer had three boys that were in the kennel a lot, but because of some behavior in her previous home we think she would do better in a home with no kids. She is very quiet in her crate and does stairs easily so might be a good apartment or townhouse dog. She goes to the door when she needs to go outside. Godiva prefers humans over other dogs and loves attention. She got along well with another male dog in her first home. Godiva was returned because she was doing some resource guarding in her home, so we would like to adopt her to a home that has some experience with that. She has been in foster care for some time now and we have had none of the issues her previous home reported, though. Since she has been perfectly behaved in two foster homes, we think she just needs the right home. Godiva has had some agility and basic obedience training already! She likes to walk and jog and is excellent on leash! She has home experience and has lived in a home for over 6 months. |

Samson is an older guy that has been in a home since 2009. He is a huge guy that towers over most other greyhounds and weighs close to 100lbs but could stand to lose a few lbs. We don't have a lot of information about his past or his racing name. He will celebrate his 9th birthday in May though. Samson was returned with his 10-year-old housemate Delilah to the Birmingham Race Track Adoption Kennel. She is still available in Birmingham and arrangements could be made to bring her here too if a family were interested in adopting both together. They were returned due to a family situation and not because of a problem with the dogs. Samson did not pass his cat test but was good with the small dogs in his foster home. He is a calm, sweet, gentle giant. Because he is an older guy he qualifies for our reduced adoption fee of $200. Samson arrived with a slight limp that got worse in the next two weeks. He was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. His foster mom decided to just adopt him and love him for the time he has left. |

Vulcan is a dark brindle male greyhound that initially came in from the Birmingham Race Track. He also raced very briefly at Palm Beach and Ebro tracks in Florida. He only had a total of 14 races and only won one of those. He didn't place in any of his other races and usually finished last. His sire is Heart Rumble and his dam is BI's Owens Girl. Vulcan turned 3 on October 2nd. Vulcan was in a home since December of 2014 and did great there. Â Vulcan was returned to us because of a divorce and a move. His first owner was heartbroken to have to give him up. Vulcan was quickly adopted out again in November of 2015 but is being returned to us again because they don't have a fenced yard and they think he would enjoy running around more. Vulcan is so good with cats and small animals that he was living with an exotic animal rehabber and he was good with all the wild animals there. Rick is a friendly boy that is very well behaved and sweet. Neither of his previous homes have reported any behavior problems. |

Sonic had a long career of 131 races but raced mostly at the lower levels at all three tracks only winning a few races and mainly earning his keep by placing in the money a lot. His last race was Dec 14th. He will turn 4 on Feb 11th. He is a beautiful red brindle that raced at 78lbs. He is a pretty tall guy. His sire is BD's Grayson and his dam is Flying Snap Off. He passed our cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either. He is a very calm, well behaved guy. His foster homes says he is one of the calmest that they have met. He is pretty good on leash too. More as we get to know him. |

Flash cam in from the Orange Park Race Track in Jacksonville Florida. She raced all of her 92 races there. On December 12th she was bumped in a race and fell, breaking a leg. Her racing owner paid for her to have surgery. Flash had a plate put in to stabilize the break before she was moved to our group. She is being fostered by one of our vets in Columbia for her rehab. Flash is recovering nicely and is out of her splint and doing really well. She is ready to start meeting potential families. Flash is the littermate of another dog we placed named GS Barry. Her sire is Pat C Clement and her dam is GS Millie. Flash raced at 60lbs and will turn 3 on March 6th. Flash is a beautiful, black female with a white chest, socks and white blaze on her face. Very flashy just like her name. Flash has a fun bouncy personality after just a short time in her foster home but was initially just a bit timid when meeting new people. She warms up very fast though. She was initially very interested in the cats until one slapped her, then she didn't want to go near it again. So we have her listed as trainable and she would do best in a home with a cat that would let her know who is boss. Flash is adapting very well to her foster home. She went out to a home show event and did great. Very friendly girl that liked kids. |

Nitrous just arrived from the Birmingham Race Track. He is fostered with his sister CTW Notgonnabeg who we already placed. Nitrous also raced a few races at the Gulf race track but most of his 85 races were at Birmingham. He did get up to the top A level there. His last race was October 7th. Nitrous's sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is CTW Make It Work. He just turned 3 on December 14th. He raced at 69lbs. Nitrous is mostly white with some freckles and a small brindle spot over both of his eyes. No other large spots on his body though. He is a happy bouncy boy with some energy. He would love a family that wants to hike or jog with their dog or do something like agility or obedience. Although he is higher energy than most greyhounds he does settle and is calm in the house. He doesn't seem to be intimidated or afraid of anything and would be an excellent therapy dog or service dog. Nitrous did pass his cat and small dog tests at the track and is being fostered with a small dog. He wants to go see everything and greet everyone so does pull excitedly on leash and needs some work on that. He is a great guy that will be a fun companion like his sister has been. He does sing along with fire trucks and sometimes just sings for the fun of it so he wouldn't be the best choice for an apartment or townhouse. This guy is so snuggly and has such a sweet happy personality just like his sister. |

Garette is a gorgeous brindle male that raced at 73lbs. He raced his entire career of 125 races at Orange Park Race Track in Falcon Kennel. He turned 3 on July 2nd. We have talked with his owner and she raised him with her children and he has played with her two kids since he was a puppy. He is friendly and sweet and was picked as a quiet dog that would be good for townhouse or apartment living. He was a pretty good racer that did get up to the top A level briefly. Garette passed his cat and small dog tests and didn't seem interested in chasing either. He is a bit of a marker so will need close supervision at first. More as we get to know him. |

Lucy is a 5 year old return that will turn 6 on May 27th. She is a white female with brindle spots that raced at 63lbs. She raced at Flagler and Daytona Beach before being retired from Orange Park Race Track. She was adopted from the track adoption group at Orange Park. Since her owners moved to this area we are helping them rehome Lucy. She is being returned because her owners no longer have time to care for her. She retired from racing in 2012 and has been in a home since then. She has been living with a toddler. More as we get more information from her owners. The photo we have is the one that was taken at the track in 2012. Lucy's sire is Kiowa Pretence and her dam is Kiowa Brown Abby. |

Patty is a handsome brindle male that is a light fawn color with just a few black stripes. He is friendly and playful. Patty is very quiet in his kennel and was chosen as one that would be a good apartment dog. He is being fostered in an apartment and is doing great there. Patty turned 3 on October 1st. His sire is Rhythmless and his dam is Kay Tam Tammy. He raced at 77lbs and raced 60 races. He raced at Flagler and is retiring from Naples Ft Myers track. Patty has been great with the small dogs he has met and seems to enjoy being around the kids he has met too. His foster mom says he is a very sweet loving guy. |

Nay Sayer is a littermate of CTW Notgonnabeg (Sugar), that we already placed, so we have been waiting on him to arrive. He is being fostered in the same home. He is a short, very muscular guy that raced at 69lbs. He is mostly-white with one brindle spot over one eye and one brindle ear. He just turned 3 on December 14th. His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his Dam is CTW Make It Work. He is coming in with his littermate CTW Nitrous who looks just like him and also just retired from the Birmingham Race Track. Nay Sayer raced 115 races and did get up to the top A level there. His last race was December 30th. He passed his cat and small dog tests at the track. He did not get along with a few of the males at the track and got attacked. He was on the receiving end so we don't think it was his fault, but we will evaluate him with other males when we get him to see how he does. This litter of greyhounds turned out to be high energy and not your typical greyhounds. They bouncy, wag and jump and will need an active home that wants to jog, hike or do training with them like agility or obedience. They are very friendly and not timid at all. They don't seem to be afraid of anything. More as we get to know him. |

Foster is retiring from the Birmingham Race Track after only 18 races. He only won two of those. He is a brindle boy that raced at 74lbs. His sire is the famous Courageous Nicky and his dam is Lava Matsui. Foster is a young guy that won't turn 2 until May 7th. He passed his cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. More as we get to know him. |

Mark came in from the Sanford Orlando Race track. He raced 197 races and also raced at Melbourne, Dubuque, Bluffs Run and Mardi Gras. He was a good racer that raced at the top A level and his last race was an A level race that he placed 3rd in. He had a minor muscle injury in that last race on June 8th. Mark has healed up from that and is fine now and runs and plays normally. Since he was already 5 years old they decided to go ahead and retire him. He turned 5 on August 13th so he had a very long racing career. Mark's sire is B's Royal Tim and his dam is WW Star Isabel. Mark is a very confident, happy-go-lucky guy. He is very loving and follows his foster mom around the house wanting to be close to her. He only had one accident in his foster home on the Christmas tree which was an honest mistake. Mark is very smart and learns fast. He figured out how to open a door and a gate. Mark is silly and playful and loves playing with toys. When Mark first arrived his coat was a little rough as you can see in some of his early photos, but he has a shiny black coat now and is a very handsome boy. He is a mid sized male racing at 72lbs. Mark was pretty excitable when he first saw small furry things but calmed down after some exposure at the vet's office. He has been good with some small dogs he met since he has been in foster care too. Mark can be a little bossy with other males so we think he would do best in a home with female dogs or he would also be fine as an only dog. Mark was very vocal when he first arrived but has quieted down nicely and likes his kennel now and is very quiet. This is a sweet, loving, fun guy that has a lot of personality. Mark has done very well with the visiting grandchildren in his foster home and seems to especially love kids. He is going to make a fun addition for some lucky family. |

Dust will be arriving soon from Orange Park in Jacksonville. She also raced in Abilene Kansas and at Southland in Arkansas. She raced 164 races and is one of the rare greyhounds that raced after 5 years old. Most retire well before they are 5. Dust turned 5 last September 26th and has continued to race until now. Her sire is the very famous Oshkosh Slammer and her dam is WWW Betty Boop. Dust raced at 64lbs and is a beautiful white girl with black spots. Dust did not pass her cat test. She wouldn't go near the cat and seemed to know that she would get scratched by the cat but she would stand, stare and bark at it from a distance. Even though she never acted like she was going to chase the cat, she appeared to really dislike the cat so we think she would do better in a home without cats. She seemed fine with the small dog she met. More as we get to know her. |

Abby originally came to us with her sister from a greyhound farm in Kansas. She is raced 131 races at Palm Beach race track in Florida but retired in March of 2013. She raced at 60lbs so is a mid sized female. Her owner was planning on having her become a mama and she stayed on the farm for over a year, but she never did have any pups, so they retired her. We received her in November of 2014 and she was quickly adopted a year ago and has been in a home since then. Due to a death in the family she has been returned to us to find a new home now. She turned 6 on on July 31st. Her sire is TK Quick Strike. Our group placed her mom Audacious and another of her sisters Beguiled so we were pretty excited to get her and her sister when they retired. Abby passed her cat and small dog tests and lived in a foster home with small dogs. Abby is a sweet girl that is pretty timid at first. She did warm up to her first family after some time, but is a girl that is happy just napping on a dog bad and doesn't seek out a lot of affection. She is a sweet girl that did well in a home and had good manners. She did live with a male greyhound in her adoptive home and did well with him. Although she seems to be fine with children, she would need a home with a quiet child. A lot of noise and activity is going to make her nervous. |

Ace is a retired stud dog that has 49 offspring listed so far and more on the way. He was a very successful racer at one of the top tracks in the country before he retired, racing at Southland in Arkansas. Ace was a 2011 Derby Lane Distance Classic Finalist. He had the season's best race time at Derby Lane for the 3/8ths distance. He WON 43 of his 152 races. Ace was a star and one of the top racers in the country. We feel honored to help such a huge star find a home. His sire is Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Kelsos Picilino. Ace is a mid sized guy that raced at 75lbs and came in at about 79lbs. He is very mellow and loves to be loved on. Very laid back and very calm. Ace responds well to corrections and is doing really well in his foster home. He gets along well with other dogs and even some goats on the farm. He doesn't seem to have any signs of separation anxiety so may make a good only greyhound. Although he was a great racer he doesn't seem to have much prey drive towards any type of animal and has no interest in chasing cats or other farm animals. He walks perfectly on leash and doesn't even try to bolt after squirrels or birds. He hasn't made any noise at all in his foster home so she thinks he might do well in an apartment. |

Naomi is coming to us from Derby Lane in Florida. She had a shoulder injury at the end of December that forced her to retire. She raced 90 races and won some of them, mainly at the lower levels. She also raced briefly at Southland in Arkansas. Naomi raced at 62lbs and will turn 3 on April 19th. Her sire is Kelsos Fusileer and her dam is Kiowa Adara Amy. We placed her littermate Volando Elf awhile back too. By the time she got to our foster home, her shoulder injury was much better and she was barely limping at all. She is a very happy go lucky girl. She wasn't stressed at all by being in a house and just found a soft dog bed to take a nap on. More as we get to know her. |

Devon is a tiny little female that didn't race. She schooled to race but just didn't have much of a drive to chase and sometimes just stood in the box instead of chasing the lure. We initially got her to place when she was just 1.5 years old. She has been in a home since February of 2014 but her family is having to return her because of a very serious illness in the family. Her mom is having to move in with other family members to care for them and their children and Devon can't go with her. Devon is very small weighing about 55lbs. She paid no attention to the cats and small dogs at the vet's office and was even a bit afraid to approach them so should do well in a home with cats or small dogs. She is a littermate to a girl that we also placed named All I Remember (Angela). Her sire is Kinloch Brae and her dam is Suzanna Salter. Devon will turn 4 on March 7th. According to her family she is very sweet and very good. She can be just a little timid at first when meeting new people. Â Be sure to click on her other pictures below to see a cute one of her and her littermates as tiny babies! She is doing great in her foster home after just a couple of days she is venturing out of her crate to interact with them and play with toys. She is a very quiet girl so may be a good apartment dog. She has been calm and very gentle with the kids in her foster home. She is very good with other dogs and will let them take her toys without complaint. |

Don is a brindle male that turned 3 on January 18th. He is a larger guy racing at 79lbs. He raced 53 races, mostly at Gulf Race Track but had a few after that in Palm Beach and was retired from there. His sire is TK Quick Strike and his dam is Springwateranton. Don is supposed to be a handsome, friendly guy. Don passed his cat test at the track. More as we get to know him. |

Trinity is a smaller dark brindle female that raced at 58lbs. She raced 15 races in Birmingham and won one of those and placed in just two. So she retired young and won't even turn 2 until March 20th. Her sire is Gable Sour Cream and her dam is WWK Cold January. Very friendly and happy and seem like she is pretty quiet in her crate. Walks great on leash and very snuggly. |

Janet came in from the Roban Farm in Florida. She is a puppy that just didn't show much interest in chasing a lure so she was retired before she ever got to the track. Janet won't turn 2 until March 2nd. Her sire is M's Free Mason and her dam is M's Free Action. She is very shy at first with people she doesn't know but has more confidence than her sister Chrissy, who is also available for adoption. Janet is the redder brindle of the two sisters and has a gorgeous shiny coat. She is very very tiny for a greyhound, weighing only 45lbs. She is one of the smallest females that we have ever placed. Janet has warmed up with her foster family and bounces around playfully and even cuddles in bed with them but it did take some time. She is a silly, happy girl once she has time to warm up. The shyness is just her personality and not the result of anything bad happening to her. She had great owners and was raised on a nice farm. Both girls inherited their shyness from their parents. We have decided not to place Janet and Chrissy together. Chrissy is too dependent on Janet to be healthy and the two girls are more timid when together. Once we placed them in separate foster homes, they both did better. Janet is doing very well in her foster home. She kennels quietly and has good house manners. She will need time and patience to warm up to her adoptive family but isn't nearly as shy as her sister. Janet is curious about the small children she has met. She is more likely to approach a new small child than a new adult. She approaches very carefully and gives them gentle kisses. She seems like she might do well in home with a quiet child but multiple loud kids and running and screaming are likely to scare her. She is more timid around loud noises like yelling or slamming doors. Janet is a very very cute little girl with a lot of love to give. She may always be a bit of a homebody. She likes to go for rides in the car and just lays down. Once she gets to her destination she isn't sure she wants to get out to walk around in the new scary place. She probably would do better in a home with a fenced yard because she does get spooked easily on leash and will freeze in place.  |

Fitz came from the adoption kennel at the Tri-State track in WV. He is a very short guy that is the height of our smaller girls but weighs 74lbs because of his stocky, body builder build. He is very cute with all that eyeliner and so friendly. His sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and his dam is Kelso's Snazzy. He was born on June 1st and will celebrate his 6th birthday then. Fitz has been in an adoptive home since 2013. Due to a change in their schedule they no longer have the time to spend with him that he needs and made the difficult decision to return him. He does fine with cats and small dogs so should do well in a home with either. Fitz has separation anxiety and does complain while left alone in his crate so he would probably not be a good apartment or townhouse dog. Fitz is very friendly, loving, waggy and gives kisses. He will settle on a dog bed in your room and sleep all night. He is a great guy with a fun, happy, sweet personality. He is food and toy motivated so might be an excellent dog for someone that wanted to teach tricks. He travels very well and would love a family that would let him go with them as much as possible. Because of his separation anxiety he would do best in a home with other dogs so he doesn't have to be totally alone. A family that had one member that stayed home a lot would also be great for him so he didn't have to be alone as often. |

Butters was the result of an unplanned pregnancy. Her mother is JS Lil Bit Tipsy and her dad is a greyhound but we aren't sure who. She was born on November 7th of 2015 and won't be available for adoption until she is at least 8 weeks old and weaned. Butters is a confident friendly pup, very happy go lucky and sweet. It is rare for greyhound pups to be available for adoption since most pups are bred to be racers and go to the track before they are available for adoption. Occasionally we get greyhound pups that are unable to be registered because of an accidental breeding like this or are injured as pups and aren't going to go on to race. Greyhound puppies are not like calm adult greyhounds in any way. They quickly grow to full size by 8-10 months old and can run nearly as fast as an adult racer at that age. They are very hyper and can run and play all day at that age so need a large fenced area to play in and lots of play time with other dogs and humans. Like all puppies, they can do a lot of damage to your house if unsupervised by chewing, digging and during the long potty training process. Greyhound puppies are not for inexperienced owners and are a huge responsibility. Like all puppies they need a lot of socialization and work to become the happy friendly dogs that we normally get from the track. Bear was the result of an unplanned pregnancy. Pitch just arrived from Derby Lane where she only raced 7 races. She fell in her last race and had a dislocated elbow. She was fixed up and rehabbed at her track kennel before coming to us. She recovered fully from the injury and has no exercise restrictions but they chose to retire her anyway just to be safe. Pitch raced at 60lbs and she turned 2 on Jan 5th. Her sire is Djays Octane and her dam is O Ya Chug Alug. She is doing well in foster care and is a very loving, sweet girl that gives kisses. She is also very smart and figured out the doggie door right away. She is a calm, well behaved dog that loves affection but won't bother you all the time to get it. She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home and seems like a very nice girl. |
