Her mom's name was the inspiration for the computer names for the entire litter - there is a Powerpoint, Microsoft, Windows, and Word too. Outlook only raced 7 races and finished toward the back of the pack in all of them. So she was retired very young and won't even turn two until October 15th. She raced at 60lbs. Outlook passed her cat and small dog tests at the track so should be OK to live with either. More as we get to know her.

Rocky is a white male with fawn spots that raced at 72lbs. He is a tall boy for his weight. He is a big traveler, racing at Southland in Arkansas, Dubuque, Naples Ft Myers, Ebro and finally Birmingham Al. He was never really a great racer but raced well enough to have a long career and did win some races and placed often. Rocky has 177 races to his credit. His sire is the very famous Lonesome Cry and his Dam is Kelsos Peach. He turned 5 on Nov 13th. We placed one of his littermates PG Up My Dough a year or two ago! Rocky did not pass his cat test so needs a home with no kitties but he did do fine with small dogs he met. He came in with a few rub marks on his face from his muzzle but they are better and we need to get new pictures. His foster home says Rocky is a calm, well behaved boy and acts like he has always lived in a home. No issues settling in with their other greyhounds and he picked up house manners right away. He is a great boy! Very friendly and sweet too. He seems like he will be an easy first greyhound. He has been quiet in his foster home so may be OK for townhouse or apartment living.

Notty is also known as Sugar now and her foster home decided to keep her after having her for so long during rehab. Notty has an unusual blue eye but has no vision problems out of either eye. She is mostly white except for one patch over her blue eye and some light speckles. She is a small girl that raced at 56lbs and is pretty stocky. Hammer just arrived from the Birmingham Race track. Hammer is a very friendly, happy, boy. He is a shorter stocky guy that raced at 71lbs and will turn 3 on October 19th. Hammer is white with gorgeous dark red spots. The color in his pictures doesn't show how red he is. His sire is Rico's Vintage and his dam is Rico's Pigathius. He raced 28 races at Tri State and Wheeling in WV and them went to Birmingham AL. Hammer was very friendly on the trip and goes up to everyone he meets wagging and asking to be petted. He is calm and seems very well behaved. At the kennel he did great with other boys in the turn out pens and is very friendly when meeting other dogs on leash. Hammer was protective of his space when laying down with dogs he didn't know at first but he has gotten much better now that he knows the dogs and has been corrected a few times for it. He enjoys traveling and gets in a vehicle and lays down. Because he has shown some grumpiness when laying down, we think he needs a home with no kids or maybe teenagers that will understand not to bother him when he is laying down or sleeping. Hammer did pass his cat and small dog test.

Muggle raced 120 races at Sarasota, Southland and Orange Park. He was a pretty good racer that competed in some Stakes races. He raced at 74lbs and just turned 4 on April 1st. His sire is Kelsos Fusileer and his dam is Whytell Broom. He is a beautiful rare silver-blue male. He is a friendly, happy boy that gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home. He was a bit vocal in his kennel so may not be the best choice for apartment living. He has been doing fantastic in his foster home. Muggle has had a couple of mild seizures since he arrived. We are having him checked by the vet but he seems like a very healthy guy so it is likely to be epilepsy and he is likely to need to be on inexpensive meds for the rest of his life.

His sire is Djays Octane and his dam is Gale WW Ebb Tide. Tide won't turn 3 until November 1st. He is being fostered in an apartment so may be a good choice for apartment living. He was noisy at first but his foster mom found that he was quiet if allowed free roam of the apartment instead of being crated. He is very well behaved out of the crate. Tide is very friendly and did great on the dog haul. Seems like a really nice guy plus he is gorgeous and very tall!! Tide didn't pass his cat test so needs a home without cats and needs further testing with small dogs. He has done OK with medium to larger dogs that he has met. He hasn't been fostered with kids but he goes on walks to a nearby park where there are a lot of kids and he loves them and is very good with them when he meets them.

Sissy passed her cat and small dog tests so should be able to live in a home with either. She is a calm, friendly girl that can be a little vocal in her crate at first so may not be the best choice for apartment living. Sissy did travel really well on the trip up from the vet. She has settled into home life really well. Sissy gives her foster family lots of kisses and her tail does a helicopter wag when she is happy. Shady didn't pass her cat test so will need a home with no kitties. She passed her small dog test easily with no interest in chasing them though. His mom's name is Deco Brandi Jett and she is a sweet friendly girl with the BEST personality. Jailor is a young guy that didn't have much of a racing career with only 3 races listed at the Orlando Track. He is a stunning white boy with a few black spots. Jailor's sire is Dragon Fire. He is a small boy racing at just 66lbs. Jailor is very young and won't turn 2 until Sept 14th. He did pass his cat and small dog tests. We were told that Jailor was a shy boy and he is just at first. He does warm up and is very friendly with his foster family after only a week. He is curious, checking everything out on walks. He needs some work on leash walking because he pulls and is strong but is already getting better. He is a gorgeous boy that probably will need a few days to warm up to a new family but then will be very sweet and loving. His tail wags a lot once he knows you.

Shakira just arrived. She is a tiny 50lb girl that is an unusual blue brindle color. As tiny as she is, she raced 106 races and did pretty well getting up to the top A level. Her racing owner just decided to retire her even though she was racing well. Her last race was an A level race. Her sire is Speedy Trent and her dam is CTW Trivia. Shakira is 3 years old and will turn 4 on June 9th. She is pretty timid at first in new situations and places. She will shiver some and pull to get away on leash sometimes when walking in new places. Her shyness seems to be situational and not toward people though. She likes people and will stay close to her foster mom and follow her around. Very very sweet and friendly. She is not timid with other dogs at all and can be pretty bossy. She did pass her cat test and her small dog test. She plays nicely with other dogs outside and enjoys their company. She was a little growly with all the new dogs in her foster home at first but has calmed down and will share her beds and space with her housemates after the first week so it seems like she only has space issues right at first with dogs she doesn't know. The only place she is protective of is her crate and will growl when other dogs come by it, silly girl. Shakira hasn't had any accidents in her kennel so far. After the first night, she has been very quiet in her kennel so would probably be a good dog for an apartment. She seems to do OK when left alone so should be fine as an only dog. Cute girl with such a puppy face! And so tiny!

He is quiet in his crate so might make a good apartment dog. We were told he could be pretty shy but he has been cautiously friendly with us since he arrived. He is calm and will give a slow wag while staring up into your eyes waiting to be petted. Very nice boy with cute ears that stand straight up. He does like his crate and feels safe there so will choose to stay there with the door open until he gets comfortable enough to come out. He does like to lean on people and give hugs.

Dusty is a senior gentleman who will turn 10 on August 10th. He really isn't all that big and raced at 75lbs. His sire is My Zapper and his dam is Kelley Dunn. Dusty raced the last time in September of 2009 and had a long career racing 120 races mostly in Birmingham AL. Dusty has had a string of bad luck though. He retired and was adopted first by a family that let him get into horrible condition and eventually returned him to the adoption kennel about 20lbs under weight. He was so thin that they weren't sure he would survive when they got him. The adoption staff at the track kennel spent months nursing him back to health and one of them ended up adopting him. Now, his most recent family is forced to give Dusty and their other greyhounds up because of more bad luck. He is a well behaved boy that is great with cats and small dogs and other dogs of all sizes male and female. He is so well behaved that he hasn't been crated in years and is a great house dog. He doesn't have accidents in his house. Dusty would be a great addition for a first time greyhound owner or someone that wants to add to their pack. Because Dusty is an older guy he has a reduced adoption fee of $200. He has had a checkup, shots and a fresh dental and is ready for his new life to begin. Dusty does have one corn on one toe that causes him to limp a bit on hard surfaces otherwise he seems healthy and he is so so sweet.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Price Family of Myrtle Beach SC 3/29/15

Toni is a pup that came straight from the farm and never went to the race track. She just turned one on October 8th so is still very young. She is small and weighed 54lbs at her vet check. She never raced because of an injury on the farm. Another dog attacked her and removed most of the skin between her tail and hipbones in September. The wound was too large to stitch so had to heal up on its own slowly. The injury is mainly cosmetic and doesn't affect her ability to run or play. She will just have a large scar. Toni couldn't go off to race training with a big open wound so her owners held onto her for a couple of months to get her to the point that she could be transported to us from Kansas in November of 2014. Toni never completed the registration process and never got a racing name. She has been called Toni since a pup though. Her sire is the very famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is Toni Works. Toni passed her cat and small dog tests and has been living in a foster home with an Italian Greyhound. She is a very good jumper and has been known to clear fences so needs a home with a 6 foot fence. Toni is calm in the house but loves doing laps and playing outside every time she goes outside to potty so she really needs a fenced yard to play in. She is a natural sitter. She crates well and is mostly quiet except at meal times when she whines some. Toni is not a confident girl and tends to be timid and jumpy. There is construction going on at her foster home and the noise of that scares her. She will take awhile to warm up to a new situation but once she warms up she is a friendly, silly, happy girl. She is likely to be pretty nervous at first when she is adopted and goes to a new home. She loves people and approaches most people wagging indoors, but sometimes outside she still is a bit timid and runs around just out of reach for a few moments until she gets her courage up to approach.

UPDATE 1/15/15: Toni went to our vet to have her spay and we had our vet do some reconstructive surgery on Toni's back to make it look better while she had her under. The reconstructive surgery was not successful. The good skin would not attach to the scar tissue and eventually sloughed off leaving another big open wound. So that meant more healing time for Toni.

UPDATE 3/4/15: Toni is finally nearly healed up and just about ready for adoption! Through her treatment Toni has been happy and acts like nothing is wrong. She continues her daily runs in the yard and doesn't even flinch when we put medicine on her wound. We really love this sweet girl!

Reverend is a smaller brindle male that raced at 69lbs. He is a young guy that won't turn 2 until April 3rd. His sire is Lonesome Cry and his dam is CTW Lorraine. He needs a home without cats but hasn't shown any interest in small dogs whatsoever so should be fine living with them. Reverend only raced 4 races but didn't win any of them. He is being retired early because his kennel is closing. So far he is a very calm boy for one so young. He has a beautiful, red coat with a few brindle stripes. Very Stunning! Reverend was happy to stand quietly and let people pet him his first time out in public, but didn't go up to many people on his own seeking out attention. He was just a little reserved but seems like the type that will warm up fast and loves attention because he didn't shy away from anyone. He has done well in his foster home.  Update from his foster mom! Reverend is settling in nicely and learning the rules about being in a home.  He always prefers to be inside with the humans, but will go outside in the backyard for a walk around when he needs to.  He quickly chooses a dog bed and rests with the other hounds but will be the first to jump up and check out anything new and exciting that might happen.  He sleeps quietly all night long in his crate.  During the day, he will complain a little when crated so probably won't be the best option for an apartment or condo with owners who are gone all day.  He doesn't seem to rely on the other dogs in the home though, which means that he could probably be comfortable as the only large pet in the home.  No indoor accidents so far either in the home or his crate.  Reverend is very young, and that means that everything is new, different, and worth investigating.  He's going to be a really nice dog for a family who understands he needs a little time and training in basic commands.  Give him a chance to stand quietly next to you for attention and you may be in love with this adorable boy!!

Her sire is Kelsos Fusileer and her dam is BD's Sierra. She passed her cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. She traveled well and slept quietly the first night. She does occasionally make noise in her crate so probably won't be a good apartment dog. So far she has been very friendly with people and seems to be adjusting well.

If you like big dogs Tuesday is your boy! He is a huge 84lb greyhound that is 4 years old. He was a good racer that we knew from kennel visits years ago when he first started racing at Sanford Orlando. He was such a big, happy, friendly, boy that we loved him the minute that we saw him, everyone did. He was a good racer that wasn't close to retiring then though. We were thrilled when he retired from Melbourne recently and he popped back up. He raced 156 races and also raced briefly at Sarasota. Tuesday is a very friendly boy with a great personality. He is pretty calm though. He will celebrate his 5th birthday on September 1st. Tuesday was pretty interested in chasing cats so needs a home with out them but did fine with the small dogs he has met. He has a little bit of white ticking on his back that looks a bit like snow. Tuesday's sire is the famous Kiowa Mon Manny and his dam is Truly Julie.

Shortie and her litter were all named for types of cows like their mother before them was. There is a Brahma, Hereford, Angus, Longhorn and Guernsey among others. It was a big litter of 11 pups. Shortie raced 70 races at the Birmingham race track. She was racing at the top A level when she retired. Her sire is the very famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is Gable Brahma. Shortie has very interesting coloring that we have only seen one time before. She is listed as a red brindle but only has stripes on one side of her. She is all red on the other side. Shortie was not interested in the cat at all when she met it and was more afraid of it than anything. She also did fine with small dogs she met. She is a very friendly, outgoing girl that raced at 61lbs and turned 2 on November 25th. She was a little scared of the shiny wood floors at first and slipped around a lot. She travels really well and laid down and went to sleep in the van right away. Shortie arrived in the middle of the night and went straight into a crate, ate her dinner and went to sleep and never made a peep the rest of the night. So she seems very adaptable and may be a good choice for an apartment or townhome. Shortie seems like a calm laid back girl.

She placed a lot so stayed in the money without winning a lot of races. Glory passed her cat and small dog tests so should be good to live with either. She was a little interested in the cat in her foster home at first but the cat let her know he didn't appreciate the attention. She has done well with that cat and the small dogs in her foster home. She is a sweet friendly girl that has transitioned to home life really well. She already whines to go out and hasn't had a single accident in the house. She has done fine with the 5 other dogs in the house. She does bark sometimes when she sees something odd or strange so may be the rare greyhound that could actually be a watch dog.

Lenny was a good racer quickly getting up to the top A level and winning lots of races there. He raced at 73lbs. His sire is Maryville Rumble* and his dam is Kiowa Surfingirl. Lenny passed his cat and small dog test so should be fine to live with either. They told us that Lenny can be a little timid at first but he was wagging his tail and going up to people for love when we picked him up from the hauler and at the vet's office so it doesn't take him long to warm up at all. He likes people and seems like he is going to be a very friendly loving guy. He is doing really well in foster care.

Lenny had a small growth on one of his legs that our vet removed and sent out for testing that came back as a soft tissue sarcoma, a slow growing form of cancer. This type of cancer usually responds quite well to chemo injections and usually goes into remission. Our vet has high hopes for Lenny making a complete recovery after a few more treatments. Lenny has handled the treatments well and will be on long term chemo pills for awhile. Thanks to some very generous donors Lenny's cancer treatment and medicine is taken care of and most of his adoption fee too!! Aunt Bea is a sweet, 6 year old black girl that had quite the racing career before becoming a mom. Now she is retired from mom duties and ready to find a couch. Aunt Bea raced 101 races mostly at the top levels and competed and placed in several Stakes races that are reserved for the best racers at each track. She was very much a star at the track. Aunt Bea started out racing in Palm Beach, then moved to Mardi Gras in Hollywood FL, Dubuque Iowa, Wheeling WV, then back to Palm Beach, Mardi Gras and Southland in Arkansas. Her racing career ended when she broke her leg on September 11th of 2011. She went back to her owner's farm to recover and to be a mom. She has one litter of pups that are racing age already so whatever lucky family adopts Aunt Bea can keep up with her pups careers as well. Aunt Bea just arrived from the Birmingham AL adoption kennel where she has been a favorite with the staff. They even took her home with them at night. Her old break still causes her to limp but it is long healed. Because of the old break she won't be able to do long hikes but she really enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood with you. She loves to go for car rides too. She is calm and friendly and seems to love people. She can run and play and her bad leg doesn't really slow her down much. She did pass her cat and small dog tests so should be fine in a home with either. She is a beautiful shiny black girl with barely any white on her face so looks even younger than 6 years old.

Neville is a tiny black boy with a white chest and toes that raced at just 64lbs. In that tiny body is a lot of personality and a super star racer! He came from the Birmingham Race Track where he consistantly was a winner at the top A level and was quite the racing celebrity. He also raced some of his 171 races at Tri State in WV. He won 45 of those races! And he placed in most of the others! He even won 6 "A" races in a row against all the top racers at that track! Neville retired in June and has been at the track since, waiting to be adopted. Neville just turned 4 on Nov 12th. He has had mixed results with cats, when he first meets new cats he is way too excited but after being around them for awhile he looses interest and is fine with some cats. We had him listed as trainable with cats but changed it to no cats because he varies so much from cat to cat and test to test. Neville did pass his test with small dogs. He is being fostered in a home with small dogs so he is used to being around them. His sire is Igoby Brady and his dam is WWG Torriewilson. Neville is a bouncy, happy boy that is friendly and fun. His foster home says that he is one of the happiest fosters they have had. He is full of personality and is a very funny, goofy guy. Everything makes him happy and he even drinks water with his tail wagging. He seems like he is a little higher energy than the typical very lazy couch potato greyhounds. He loves to play with toys and seems like he will be an excellent family dog. He is excellent with company and meeting new people makes him very happy. He does great out in public and loves going places and exploring his environment. He is a very curious, sweet boy that will do well in just about any situation. He doesn't seem to be worried about much of anything.

Harmon is a red male that is a big traveler racing at 5 different tracks - Abiline KS, Bluffs Run and Dubuque in IA, then on to Palm Beach and Sanford Orlando tracks in Florida. He had 51 races to his credit and raced at 71lbs so is a medium sized male. His sire is Iceman Brutus and his dam is Rocking Jade. He just turned 3 on March 19th. Harmon rode well on the trip and didn't seem to be phased at all by traveling. He hops into the van on his own and doesn't need a boost. He settled nicely in his crate the first night and didn't make a peep. He also potties well on leash so doesn't require a fenced yard and may be a good choice for apartment living. Harmon is very friendly and happy and is a real leaner going up to strangers and wrapping himself around them for love. He needs some work on walking on leash because he is excited to check everything out and can't decide where to go first so ends up doing a lot of zig zagging but settles down after a little ways and walks beside you. He is smart and learns quickly. Harmon did great at his first meet and greet at a hockey game. He loved all the people he met adults and kids. The noises and crowd didn't phase him. He had a great time! He met some small dogs outside that were barking and running and he didn't pay any attention to them at all so appears to be very small dog tolerant. He has been living in a foster home with cats and a ferret and is great with both. This is a very sweet loving guy!

Zenith has an unusual dark chocolate brown color between her black brindle stripes. She also has a cute white blaze on her nose and white on her chest and toes. I Run To You is a 75lb brindle male that is coming to us from the Melbourne Adoption kennel but he actually raced at Tri-State in WV and most recently at Sanford Orlando in FL. He raced 44 races but only won 3 of those. He got a lot of 2nds though. Since he wasn't really good his racing career was short. He will turn 3 on April 25th. His sire is Iruska All Star and his dam is Iruska Promise. He passed his cat and small dog tests at the track so should be fine to live with either. He is described as pretty calm dog but not a total couch potato. Generally good on leash and pretty friendly. Approaching people for affection and love but in a calm way. More as we get to know him.

Bernie is a cute brindle girl that turned 2 on May 24th. She is coming in from the Palm Beach track where she raced 25 races. She never won any of her races but did place in some of them. Her racing owner is one of our volunteers! She has quite a few greyhound pets already so is unable to keep Bernie as a pet. She has asked us to help find her a great adoptive home. Bernie raced at 66lbs. Her sire is from Ireland named Jim Joes Up and her dam is Bolo Whisper. More as we get to know her.

Ashley is an older girl that is being returned because her owner is having a baby and moving. She has been with her family since 2010. Ashley is a brindle girl that is around 60lbs. She will turn 10 August 18th. Her sire is Matt's Comet and her dam is RJ Blown Away. She has 10 races listed starting out at Southland in Arkansas in schooling in 2007 but was quickly moved to Florida for the rest of her races. She didn't show much promise so was quickly retired. Ashley is a very shy girl that is likely to be pretty overwhelmed by losing her family and having to move to a new location and adjust to a new family. She will be checked over by our vet to be sure she is healthy when she comes in and will have a full dental and anything she needs. Because she is an older girl she will qualify for our reduced adoption fee of $200. Ashley did pass her cat and small dog test. She has not been around kids much but has done OK with the ones she has seen. Because she is a timid girl she would probably do better in a home with quiet kids rather than loud rowdy ones. More after we get her. This is a photo of her taken when she first arrived years ago. She has more white on her face now.

Pro is a brindle male that raced at 76 lbs. He raced a lot of races in Birmingham, 206 in all, and was a very good racer. He raced at the top A level and won a lot of races. He broke his right hock in his last race on May 21st and has been at the track healing up since then. His leg looks very good and is long healed. It shouldn't affect his life as a pet and he is able to walk, run, play and even jump up on his back legs to give hugs with no problem. His sire is the famous Kiowa Mon Manny and his dam is Abita Bellaray. He turned 4 on November 11th. Pro did pass his cat test and small dog test with some initial excitement about both. He was very correctible and didn't want to get too close to the cat again after one slap. He is a bouncy, excitable boy and approaches everything new with excitement at first, then calms down, so we think he will be fine to live with both cats and small dogs with some supervision at first. Pro LOVES people and will bounce up happily to give people hugs (we are working on stopping that). He is very social and curious about everything new and seems like a higher energy fun greyhound. Pro has a lot of personality and confidence. Pro is going to be a very fun, playful boy for a lucky family. Be sure to click on his other pictures to see the cute happy expression that he wears most of the time.

Poser just arrived from the Birmingham race track he also race briefly at Orange Park in Jacksonville Fl. He only raced 19 races and placed some but never won any of them. He is a pretty white male with black spots he is a mid sized guy racing at just 69lbs. Poser's sire is Djays Octane and his dam is WW Breeze Aimee. He just turned 2 on December 10th and still is pretty puppyish. He is very friendly and happy boy and still somewhat energetic for a greyhound due to being so young. Poser is curious about cats and small dogs but responds well to correction and did quickly lose interest, so we think he would be able to live with them with supervision at first. He did great with the kids he met at a home show too.

We lost Poser too soon shortly after adoption due to a poisonous snake bite. He was loved by his family very much.
