Special Needs - Needs experienced dog home Jack is a famous boy even though he never raced. He was in the first litter of pups that Greyhoundfacts.org followed. You can see pictures of him and his litter Here. He comes with tons of puppy photos from the time he was born. Jack wasn't that interested in racing and never had one race. He was sent to an adoption group in Colorado when he was only a little over a year old, but they had him for months without any interested adopters. His owner sent him to Florida for a change of scenery in hopes he would find a home there, but that didn't work out because he was still a big high energy pup at that age. He was brought in to our group for an adopter that wanted him. Jack's sire is the famous Paddy Whacker and his dam is Blazin Angelfire. He is a large guy and should weigh around 80lbs.  He will turn 3 on May 21st. Jack has been in several adoptive homes, but has been returned by each due to a variety of problems. He was returned the first time because he played too rough with a 3lb dog in the home, so we had to mark him "no small dogs". Jack was returned again because he was growly with a child when he was laying down. Even though he loved the kids in his foster home, he had to be listed "no small kids".  He was returned again after only a couple of days because the german shepherd in his home didn't get along with him. He was just returned again because they didn't have time to spend with him and he got bored and started getting into things. Jack doesn't like to be crated and complains loudly about it, so he can't be an apartment dog either. Jack has calmed down a lot since he arrived. A greyhounds brain comes in sometimes between 2 and 3 years old and now that Jack is nearly 3 he seems to be a much easier dog. His current foster home has had no trouble with him at all. He has gotten along fine with their smallish to medium sized mixed dog and their greyhounds and has been the perfect house guest. Jack is extremely affectionate and sweet and just wants attention and love. Even though he can be excitable and playful for short spurts, he calms down and can be quite the couch potato now. Jack had mixed results with cats in his foster homes, so we also put him down as needing a home with no cats. He was good with cats most of the time, but he could get excited when they played and ran and wanted to join in. Jack is very outgoing, waggy, friendly and happy. He loves to give kisses. He has a lot of personality and just needs some exercise, leadership and rules for him to thrive. Jack was retired out of training shortly after he was a year old so has been waiting on the right home for almost 2 years now. Could your home be the right one?
