Kitty is a gorgeous sable fawn with dark guard hairs in her coat over light fawn fur. Very unusual and striking. She has a lot of natural eyeliner. She retired in February from the Wheeling WV race track and we picked her up from the farm she went to when she retired. Kitty's sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and her dam is Huska Damsel. She will celebrate her 3rd birthday on June 22nd. Kitty was pretty shy when she first arrived but she has become a very outgoing friendly dog very quickly in her foster home. Now she greets strangers that come over happily and chooses to interact with them and follow them around. She walks perfectly on leash and travels well. She just gets into a vehicle and lays down for the entire trip. She crates quietly and potties very nicely on leash so may be a good choice for an apartment or townhouse without a fenced yard. She passed her cat test with no interest other than a casual sniff so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. She seems like a very calm, laid back girl that should make an easy addition. She even was fine being outside when a chainsaw was being used and didn't seem phased by the loud noise. Kitty has developed a very silly fun personality. She loves to play with toys and can keep herself entertained by squeaking a toy and playing with it all by herself but would rather have a person join in the game with her. So far she really hasn't wanted to join in games with the other dogs in her foster home though. Kitty has been diagnosed with SLO which is an auto immune disease that causes her toe nails to fall off. We have started the treatment of Fish oils and Niacinamide (b-vitamin). Her nails are growing back. She is likely to require continued vitamin supplements to keep her SLO from flaring up again. This is something that we see in greyhounds sometimes. She has returned to being able to run in the yard pretty normally now but when she has a flare up and loses her nails she will be tender footed and won't be able to go for long walks and won't be able to play until they heal up again. Fortunately the supplements to keep this in check aren't expensive and seem to be effective. |

Shadow is a black female that turned 9 years old on Jan 1st. She raced at 60lbs and she has 107 races listed when she was younger at Derby Lane and Naples Ft Meyers in Florida. Her sire is Lauren Tide and her dam is Oneco Persnickty. She has been in an adoptive home for 5 years since she retired and was adopted out through another adoption group that has given us permission to help rehome her. Her family is having to give her up because of moving into a senior living center. They are heartbroken about having to give her up. Shadow has good house manners and has been living with small white dogs and larger dogs and is good with all of them. She needs to be tested with cats. Shadow loves to go for rides in the car and always wants to go and rides nicely once she gets in but is a little afraid to jump into the car. When she first arrived at her adoptive home years ago she was very very shy and would run from people. Now she is very loving towards her family. She settled right into foster care though without any problem. She has even been out to a meet and greet at PetSmart. While she didn't actually go up to all the new people there she didn't shy away either and enjoyed the attention. Shadow has never tried to get up on the furniture in her home. She is a pretty black girl with white feet and chest and a white face. |

Jack is a tiny, friendly, brindle male that raced at 67lbs at Palm Beach race track. He raced 35 races there then was moved to Sanford Orlando Race Track. His sire is Dragon Fire and his dam is Greys Realclassy. Jack just turned 3 on May 24th. He passed his small dog test with a boston terrier and seemed to enjoy having her play with him and jump on him so seems like he will do well with small dogs. He is not cat friendly though so can't live with them. He has been an excellent foster, very easy and well behaved. Very sweet and friendly and very good with the 3 kids in his foster home. He has a gorgeous, shiny almost chocolate coat with black stripes and a cute, tiny, little face. He pulled a little on leash at first but with some training now walks right beside you politely. He potties very nicely on leash so may be OK to live without a fenced yard if his family was willing to leash walk him. He is usually quiet in his crate so may be a good choice for living in an apartment or a townhouse. He plays so nicely with the female greyhound in his foster home very gently playing and rolling around together. Very cute! He loves toys. |

Big Ugly is big but is definitely not ugly. He is a gorgeous rare blue brindle. His owner/trainer jokingly called him that sometimes. He is a big guy racing at 80+lbs. He just celebrated his 2nd birthday on May 17th. His sire is Get Over and we actually adopted out his dam MRL Courageous last year. Big Ugly is a sweet friendly guy that loves to swim and run. The farm he was raised on has a lake in the middle of it so he is one of the rare greyhounds that actually knows how to swim. He raced at Tri State in WV for a short time but was at Orange Park in Jacksonville Fl for the rest of his career of 67 races. Big Ugly had one of our previous adopters waiting on him to retire so was adopted just as soon as he was vetted. |

Impolite is a sweet, friendly red female with a cute black face that we have been waiting on to retire since we met her at the track. She is actually very polite and was well behaved at the track. She raced at 55lbs so is a tiny girl. She is 2 years old and won't turn 3 until September 1st. She has raced her entire career of 19 races at Sanford Orlando Race Track and was a favorite of her trainers. They nicknamed her Sophia because Impolite wasn't a very pretty name for such a gorgeous girl. Her sire is Tony's Oracle and her dam is Campbell Brown and she is a sister of quite a few sweet dogs we have already placed. Impolite passed her cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. She needs a little more work walking on leash but her trainers at the track have been working on it with her since she arrived. When she first got to the track she would freeze when she got nervous and refuse to walk anywhere and it very nearly prevented her from racing. Her trainers worked with her for quite awhile and finally got her walking but after all that work she just wasn't fast enough to win a race so was retired. Even though she can be nervous on leash she was very outgoing and loved visitors that came into the kennel at the track. She still freezes sometimes on walks when a loud vehicle comes by but walks nicely most of the time now. She is very quiet in her crate and likes her crate. She doesn't potty on leash at all though so will need a home with a fenced yard. This is very happy sweet girl that can be just a bit shy at first in new situations but really loves people. She has been to meet and greets now and has done very well with kids and all the people she has met. She is a great girl with an unsual dark red almost brown coloring with a nearly black face. So cute! |

Taylor is a 62lb red female that celebrated her 3rd birthday on March 23rd. She raced at historic Derby Lane and has 34 races listed. Her sire is the very famous Dodgem By Design and her dam is Tovi The Proud. She passed her cat and small dog test so should be OK to live in a home with either. Taylor is very friendly outgoing and loving |

Chucky just arrived and is an extra large male that raced at 91lbs at Southland in AK, Victoryland and Mobile in AL, and most recently Palm Beach and Sanford Orlando in FL. He was quite the traveler and does enjoy going for rides and is good on trips. Chucky's sire is DK's Prime Time and his Dam is Char Jimmy Pop. He just turned 4 on June 2nd. He is a gorgeous brindle and is very tall. He towers over even other large greyhound males and is one of the largest dogs we have ever adopted out, and is one of the tallest greyhounds we have ever placed. Chucky may be a giant, but he is a gentle giant that actually lacks confidence. He can be a little timid at first in new surroundings but warms up fast. He loves to be petted and calmly leans in for petting. He has done well on slick floors and stairs in his foster home and is very calm and laid back. He has been to PetSmart on outings several times and has done fine with all the dogs and people he has met there and goes up to strangers for attention. He has been great with the small dogs or cats in his foster home so would be an excellent dog for a home with cats or small dogs. Chucky seems like the type that would walk or more likely run away from confrontation, in fact, when he gets scared he does have the tendency to run. The folks at the track adoption kennel warned us that he got scared and tried to scale their fence - without success. So he will need a yard with a 5 or 6 foot fence or someone that will leash walk him if he goes to a home without a fenced yard. He is quiet in his crate and likes to be in his crate so may be OK as an apartment dog. Chucky has seemed to be pretty comfortable with the well-behaved children he has met so far so may be good in a home with kids. He is settling in nicely to his foster home and has been well-behaved. If you want a sweet, gentle giant Chucky is your man. We just found out that Chucky likes water and enjoys swimming! |

Mike came in as a special order for a family that had met him at the track and followed his racing career. His DOB 3/20/09 so he is 4 years old. His sire is Farloe Black and his dam is Lil Misschevious. Mike is a small guy that raced at 67lbs. So far he seems like a calm guy that is well behaved and sweet. Very friendly, travels well and walks great on leash. He likes toys, especially ones that make noise. Mike was curious but OK with a small dog he met. He slept quietly all night in his crate and seemed pretty well behaved his first day in a house. |

Romeo is a dark brindle male that is 4 years old. He was born on Nov 11th and raced at 75lbs. He had a long successful race career that started at Bluffs Run and has 115 races listed. He also raced at Southland in Arkansas, Dubuque and finished up at Sarasota so he has done a lot of traveling. He does travel well. He seems like a friendly boy that is pretty calm. His sire is the very famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Taylor Uhl. |

Jackie is a sweet friendly black girl that is small racing at just 57lbs. She will turn 3 on September 1st. Her sire is Tony's Oracle and her dam is Campbell Brown. She is a littermate to Impolite who is another of our available dogs. She is also a littermate to My Little Brown that was just adopted. Jackie just retired from the Sanford Orlando race track after racing 57 races. Jackie traveled well on the trip up from the track and did fantastic at her first meet and greet. She was great with the small dogs she met there and loved all the people there including the kids. A very sweet girl. |

Joshua was a favorite of his racing owner and he has a great friendly personality that makes him stand out in a crowd of greyhounds. He was a fantastic racer too entering stakes races and winning AA races at a top level track. Just a great guy with personality and racing skill. He raced at Southland in Arkansas and Wheeling in WV and has 129 races listed. He raced at 78lbs and his DOB is Sept 14 2008. His sire is Flying Penske and his dam is Secrets Told. He is doing great in foster care and adjusting well to living in a house. He did great on his potty training He passed his cat and small dog tests so should be fine to live with either. He might be a good apartment dog since he potties on leash and is quiet in his crate. Be sure to look at his other pictures to see a really cute one that shows how sweet he is when he was telling his trainer at the track goodbye. |

Babe isn't actually big at all. She raced at 61lbs so is a mid sized female and a pretty small greyhound. Her sire is Heart Rumble and her dam is USS Clearshot. Babe will celebrate her 3rd birthday on June 29th. She retired from the Sanford Orlando Race Track and was a pretty good racer there and actually won her last race. She also raced at Derby Lane and Palm Beach in Florida and had a total of 71 races. Babe passed her cat test with no interest in the cat or the small dog she met so would be good in home with small animals. She is living in a foster home with a Yorkie with no trouble. She seems to travel well and seems pretty calm and well behaved so far. She loves her foster home's grandkids that are 10 and 13 and runs and plays with them. She can be a little vocal in her crate when no other dogs are around so might not be a good apartment dog. She can be just a little timid at first but quickly warms up and is always wagging her tail happily. She has had no accidents in her foster home! She has picked up on house manners quickly and is a very good girl. |

Echo came from a Sanford Orlando kennel closing. She also raced at Bluffs Run in Iowa and at Derby Lane and Orange Park in Florida. She has 49 races to her credit. She turned 3 on March 28th and she raced at 62lbs. Her sire is DK's Prime Time and her dam is Money Go Get Her. Echo is very good with cats and small dogs and didn't pay attention or get excited about seeing either. The cat hissed at her and she kept her distance as if she was already familiar with cats and their claws. So far Echo seems like she is a very sweet friendly girl that is calm but has a silly playful side too. She is very good on leash and never pulls. She likes everyone but seems like she is particularily fond of men. Echo did a cute little bounce and spin when meeting her foster mom's husband for the first time. Echo does go potty on leash and is quiet in her crate so should be OK in an apartment or in a home without a fenced yard. Echo is a sweet, well behaved girl that should make an easy first or 3rd greyhound. She has hardly used the crate in her foster home and is very well behaved even when left out with no supervision. |

Funny Face is a small brindle female that raced at 56lbs. She celebrates her 3rd birthday on May 19th. Funny Face just retired from the Sanford Orlando track with a total of 35 races to her credit. She also raced at Southland in Arkansas and Palm Beach and Derby Lane in Florida. In all those races and travel she only won one race! Her sire is Bob's Skeet and her dam is D O Slam Jam. She is a littermate to a dog we already placed named Night Club Nelly. She passed her cat test with no interest cats or small dogs so can live in a home with either. Funny Face is very sweet and gives kisses. She is friendly and happy but calm and not pushy. Funny Face is very gentle and will seek out affection calmly by standing beside you for ears scritches and petting. She plays gently with stuffed animals and just squeeks them and tosses them around. She likes to chase balls too but hasn't learned to bring them back. She is very quiet in her crate. She seems pretty confident and curious in her foster home but can be a little timid when out of her element in new places at first. She walks well on hardwood floors. Funny Face will probably need a home with a fenced yard because she doesn't potty on leash well. She has been very good with all the small and large dogs in her foster home but hasn't really interacted much or played with them yet. She seems to like tools and carried off a roll of duct tape, a hammer and a screwdriver out of the shop. Funny choice of toys for such a girly girl. Her foster home just loves her and says she is a real joy to have. |

Camry was a great racer then became a brood mom for a few years after she retired. We just got her from the brood farm. She is an older gal now at 10 years old. Her DOB is March 4th 2003. Her sire is the famous Gable Dodge and her dam is RV Sensational. She is a tiny girl that raced at only 54lbs. She was a special girl that one of our volunteers wanted brought in. She will be staying with her if she does well with her other dogs so probably won't be available. The photo of her is one from her racing days and she has a little more white on her face now. |

Jim is a tiny, outgoing red male that raced at just 66lbs. His birthday is Nov 22, 2007. Jim has lived in a home before so is already home acclimated. He loves people and especially loves kids and is missing the children in his previous home, where he lived with an autistic child. He is playful and will play bow to people trying to get them to play with him. Jim loves to play with toys too and will even chase a frisbee! This is a very fun boy that would be a great family dog. Jim was a return because the rental agreement changed and they could no longer have a large dog. His family was very upset about having to give him up. Jim is the rare greyhound that actually will bark happily to let you know people are arriving at the house or walking by. Because of that he wouldn't be a good choice for apartment or townhouse living. This cute, sweet little guy is a couch potato but also has a fun playful side that will keep you entertained. His foster homes says he is an absolute angel that has good house manners and is already house trained! His sire is Rhythmless and his Dam is Bohemian Witty. |

Little Brown is a super sweet, friendly, girl that we fell in love with the first time we saw her in the racing kennel. We have been waiting for her to retire. She is mostly white with brown spots although she is listed as white and red. Her sire is Tonys Oracle and her dam is Campbell Brown so she is a full sister to Impolite that is also available for adoption. They both have that same unusual brown color to their fur. Little Brown is very friendly and really thought she should sit in the laps of the people that were driving on the trip up from Orlando or maybe she just thought she would be a better driver. She just arrived from a kennel closing in Orlando and has 56 races to her credit. She wasn't a great racer but she placed enough to earn a little money and even won a few races. Little Brown raced at 63lbs and won't turn 3 until September 1st. She passed her cat and small dog tests very easily. She was just friendly and greeted each with a happy tail wag and a friendly sniff and was surpised that the cat slapped her and decided to stay away from the cat. Little Brown has arrived in her foster home and is a very outgoing girl with people and other dogs. When meeting people and new dogs she happily wags her whole body and not just her tail. She pulls on leash excited to see everything new so we need to work on that some. She also puts her feet up on things and people trying to see better. She does it gently but we are working on that too. She has a lot of personality and is a sweet fun girl that is very social and loving. |

Patch the Pup broke his leg at the farm when he was 4 months old. His racing owner had the leg set and fixed and kept him at the farm until it was strong again and then let us place him in an adoptive home. Patch was spoken for before he arrived and his new family has been anxiously awaiting his arrival. He is expected to make a complete recovery. Patch's sire is the famous Flupas Crackerbox and his dam is FF Boots, a brood that we placed. |

This little red girl broke her leg at the farm as a tiny pup. Her racing owner sent her to a specialist that doesn't think that much can be done for the leg. It isn't going to grow properly and she may not have much use of it. She has 3 other good legs though and gets around just fine. It has healed already and isn't causing her any pain it is just bent at an odd angle and may end up being very short but time will tell. She is arriving on May 18th and has an adoptive home in GA waiting on her. Her sire is the famous Kiowa Sweet Trey and her dam is USS Arlington. DOB 3/6/13. Update: Reese has grown up into a beautiful adult dog. Her leg didn't grow properly and is very short so doesn't get used much. It is all she has known though and it doesn't slow her down a bit. She plays and runs with the other greyhounds she lives with. Her family moved to Texas with her |

Freaky Fast has a great name for a greyhound. She just retired from the Sanford Orlando Race Track and has 92 races to her credit. She raced at quite a few tracks so is quite the traveler racing at Wheeling in West Virginia, and Derby Lane and at Palm Beach in Florida. She was pretty good too. Freaky Fast is a black brindle female that raced at 64lbs. She will celebrate her 4th birthday on June 3rd. Her sire is Freak Show and her Dam is Malwa Passion. We placed her littermate Freak N Magic. She was interested in the cat during her cat test but seemed correctable so may be trainable with cats. She still needs to be tested with small dogs. Freaky Fast is a very calm, well behaved girl. She is very quiet in her crate. She walks perfectly on leash and never pulls. Freaky Fast hasn't learned to potty on leash though so will probably need a home with a fenced yard. She is quietly friendly and comes up to you for love but isn't pushy about it. She will follow you around where every you go looking up at your with big sweet eyes to see what you are doing. A very sweet laid back girl! She has done great with the kids she has met and is friendly to them. |

Fine is a sweet girl that raised a few litters of puppies before retiring. She has 23 puppies listed and was a good mom. She is very sweet and friendly with everyone she meets and has a very outgoing, happy personality. Her sire is Clappin Thunder and her dam is Proper Chyna. Her birthday is May 19th. More as we get to know her. |

Curley is another littermate to Larry and Mo. She has been separated from her brothers for some time now since she continued racing for longer than they did. She would be fine being placed by herself. Finding a home for 3 littermates at once would be very difficult. Curley just arrived and so far seems to be a bouncy, energetic, happy girl and the more energetic of the 3 littermates. She is a tiny girl that raced at 54lbs. Her sire is Iceman Brutus and her dam is WJS Raina Jem. Her birthday is Sept 19th 2010 so she is 2 years old. More as we get to know her. |

Uptown is a light brindle male that raced at 73lbs so is a mid sized male. He celebrates his 3rd birthday on June 3rd. Uptown's sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Chel's Rocknroll. He just retired from Sanford Orlando Race Track but did all of his 42 listed races at other tracks. He races in Iowa at Bluffs Run and at Palm Beach before being moved to Orlando after a minor injury. He was just healed up when his kennel closed and he was officially retired. Uptown did pass his cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. More as we get to know him |

Maddy is a tiny fawn girl that only weighs 50lbs but should weigh 56lbs according to her racing weight. She celebrates her 7th birthday on December 22nd. She is a return that has already been in a home for years so already has good house manners and is well behaved. She is a very sweet loving girl but can be a little timid at first and we think loud fast moving kids are likely to scare her so we listed her as older children only. She passed her small dog test so can live with them but still needs cat testing. She is calm and sweet and so adorable! Maddy's sire is the famous Flying Penske and her dam is TM's Very Few Do. After she was adopted by the Mitchell family, they returned her to Project Racing Home in Randleman NC. That group let us know that they rehomed her with another family. |

Stutz is big guy that just arrived from a farm in Kansas. He has 59 races to his credit at Derby Lane track in Florida and was retired to the farm because of a toe injury. He raced at 98lbs so is an extra large guy. His sire is Balligari and his dam is Elysium. Stutz is named for a famous man in greyhound racing history that is in the Greyhound Hall of Fame. He was described by his trainer as a sweet friendly boy that was a favorite with everyone that visited the kennel. He needs careful placement because he did have some trouble getting along with some of the other male dogs at the track. He never started anything, but he would only put up with so much according to his trainers. He celebrates his birthday December 1st. Stutz passed his small dog tests and lives with a small dog in his foster home. He has done great at meet and greets with children and adults and loves anyone that will pet him. He does nip to get your attention and we are working on correcting that behavior. He is being playful but it does hurt. He is a real snuggly guy that loves to curl up in bed with his people. His favorite place in the house is the bed - human bed, not dog bed. He seems to be a follower and follows the other dogs in his foster home and looks to them to see what he should do next. He has a pretty high prey drive and had mixed results with cats so we don't think he should live in a home with them. Update on Stutz. He was adopted by his foster mom. He is a wonderful boy that has never shown any aggression to any dog since he left the track. He is so tolerant that he helped raise an Italian greyhound puppy. He has quit the nipping behavior entirely. He does still have a high prey drive and that has been used doing Barn Hunting competitions where he sniffs out a rat safely contained in a tube. He loves that. He also performs at the Carolina and GA Renaissance Festivals in the cast of The Hounds of East Fairhaven. He is a sweet sensitive boy that always tries to do the right thing and never gets into trouble. |

Mojo is a light brindle male that came from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He has no races listed so retired before his career really started. He is a young one that just turned two on April 18th. Mojo is a Kiowa Sweet Trey pup so is a half brother to Canadian Passion that arrived on the same load and a whole bunch of other super sweet dogs we have placed. He has a very low prey drive so should be great with cats and small dogs and has been living with a very tiny dog. Mojo seems like a pretty calm boy for one so young. He has shown that he can be stressed by being alone and prefers to be with his people or with other dogs. He likes to snuggle and will walk right up to you and lean in for petting. He is good on leash. Mojo loves children and has done great with them in his home. He does potty well on leash so might be good for a home without a fenced yard. Mojo would not be a good apartment dog though because he tends to be a little more vocal than most greyhounds. |

Hotdog just retired from the Sanford Orlando race track but spent most of his racing career at Palm Beach. He has 45 races to his credit. Hotdog is a black male that raced at 75lbs. He just turned two on Feb 16th. His sire is Trent Lee and his dam is Jawa Whelton. Hotdog played nicely with all dogs at the dog park including small dogs. Even one that looked like a white rabbit. He came to us when we called him and followed us to the gate when we left. Hot Dog is so laid back, nothing bothers him & our female greyt is the boss which is fine with him. They play well together, he loves the stuffed toys. Walks perfectly on leash...no pulling. He is a counter surfer..so we've been working on that. He just loves everybody & is one happy dude!!! Potties outside in the yard and on leash. Not sure about cats yet still needs to be tested. He complains about being left in a crate sometimes so probably won't be a good choice to live in an apartment. Hopefully that may change some since he's getting more comfortable being in a home environment. Whoever gets this sweet boy will have an awesome friend and greyt dog!! |

Amour is a beautiful, tiny white girl with black spots. She raced at only 54lbs so is very tiny. Her sire is Fuzzys Cannon and her dam is Ultimate Deva. Her birthday is Dec 4th. She has 14 races to her credit and started our racing at Palm Beach then moved to Sanford Orlando but never won a race. She is a very silly girl that loves to run in circles in the yard while barking happily. She doesn't care if anyone joins her and often is the only one running. She does this every turnout and seems like a higher energy gal that will need a fence yard to play in since she likes to run every time she goes outside. She got along well with the other girls at the track. She passed her cat test at the track so should be able to live with cats and small dogs. She is in a foster home with small dogs and has been fine with them. She seems like a very outgoing, happy girl. Amour is doing great in her foster home and is very well behaved and sweet. What a pretty girl!! Amour passed away suddenly due to kidney failure. |

Little Face got her nickname because she has such a tiny face with huge eyes. She is a pretty, tiny girl that raced at just 56lbs. Her birthday is July 31st. Little Face is very friendly, sweet and calm. She was good in the kennel and kept her kennel clean and never had accidents. Her trainers at the Sanford Orlando track really liked her and said she really has a very sweet personality and that is what her foster home said about her too. A really sweet, easy greyhound that loves people. She can be a little timid to begin with but warms up very fast. Little Face has 98 races to her credit and raced at several tracks. Her sire was TK Quick Strike and her dam is Audacious. We think she may be trainable with cats. She passed her first cat test easily but was a little interested in a different cat later so we listed her as probably trainable. She will need a careful introduction and will need supervision at first. We can introduce her and evaluate her with your specific cat as some dogs can react differently to cats that look different. She would be an easy first or third greyhound and seems like she will calmly fit into about any home. Check out her new photos - she is a star and was on the news!! |

Declan just arrived from Derby Lane in Florida. He was a star racer but was on a break from racing due to a broken toe. When the first toe healed up he broke another toe so they just decided to retire him rather than risk any more toes. Declan's birthday is October 15th, 2010. His sire is the famous Oshkosh Slammer so he is a half brother to a bunch of dogs we have adopted out. His dam is Dixie Stampede. Declan is an extra large guy at 86lbs. We have some of the biggest boys we have ever adopted out available right now. If you like big, friendly, playful boys Declan could be your guy. On the trip up from the track he found a glove that he was tossing around in the back of the van. Definitely a guy that isn't stressed by being in a vehicle or around strangers. He likes everyone he meets and doesn't seem to get worried or stressed by anything. He still needs to be tested with cats but has been very good with the small dogs he has met and hasn't even shown interest in chasing squirrels in the yard so we think he will probably be cat safe as well. Declan crates quietly and likes to sleep in his crate so might be quiet enough for apartment living. He is a total love bug that will stand patiently and wait to be petted and will follow you around. He does well with the other male dogs in his foster home and has just settled in like he has always been there. He only had one accident in the house when potty training. He doesn't counter surf and is very well behaved. If he does anything wrong an "UH UH" is all it takes to make him stop. Because of his two broken toes his racing trainer doesn't think he would be a good performance dog prospect for agility or lure coursing. He is fine to run and play with other dogs, hike, go for walks or jogs with his owner though. Those toes shouldn't bother him as a pet. |

Murphy is a very handsome black brindle- we don't get many this color. He has 27 races listed at Lincoln Park where he raced at 72lbs. His sire is DK's Prime Time and his dam is Stat E Tara. He will celebrate his 9th birthday on June 23rd. Murphy has had some very bad luck and has been in a couple of different homes and he was returned to us this time in pretty poor condition. He is expected to make a full recovery but needs to put on quite a few lbs. One of his former families did a lot of obedience training with him so Murphy comes with a lot of training. This is a smart boy with excellent house manners too. Murphy was a certified Therapy Dog and participated in Therapy Dog visits with one of his previous owners so is a very special guy that is wonderful with children and adults and very well behaved in public settings. He walks nicely on leash, doesn't jump and calmly and politely goes up to people for love. Murphy was great with the cats he met at the vet clinic and gave them kisses so we think he will be fine living with them. He was fine with small dogs he did Therapy Dog visits with. Although Murphy has always been great with small dogs and all dogs he has met, because of an incident that Murphy MAY have been involved in years ago, we would rather not place him in a home with small dogs. He is fine with other dogs and gets along well with everyone though in our experience. Murphy raced 27 races at the now closed Lincoln Park. |

Annika just arrived from the Jacksonville Race Track. She was a very successful racer and raced more than 240 races. It is pretty unsual for a racer to continue racing well into their 5th year and she turned 5 on June 2nd. Annika was still running OK and making money for her trainer but they chose to go ahead and retire her so she could get her own family and couch. She is a beautiful muscular girl that is very short but stocky and raced at 58lbs. She is calm but very friendly and seems to have an excellent personality and is just gorgeous. Her sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and her dam is GS Gladice. Annika was a special order for one of our families that met her at the race track and has been waiting on her to retire so she may not actually be available for adoption. So far she has been very well behaved in her foster home and is very good with their baby and even guinea pigs. |

Dee raced at Derby Lane and Sanford Orlando most recently. She has 33 races to her credit and raced at 65lbs. Her sire is Freak Show and her dam is Lil Law Dawg. Her birthday is Dec 13th. She passed her cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats and small dogs. She is a gorgeous nearly all white girl with only some red spots on her ears and one tiny patch of red on one eye. Dee is very friendly and happily greets everyone she meets with a very waggy tail. She does try to give hugs sometimes so we are working on teaching her to keep all 4 feet on the floor. She is very curious and the first thing she does is put her paws up on things to check them out better - like a shopping cart in a parking lot and a couch, table and dog crate in her foster home. Dee corrects easily though and will learn she doesn't need to climb on things. It does show that she is very curious and not afraid of new things or new experiences. Maybe a good agility dog? She made just a little noise in her crate at first but quieted down right away on her own and slept all night her first night in a home. In the morning she fussed a little in the crate but correct fast and settled right down after only two corrections. Dee traveled well on the dog haul so seems like a dog that would be comfortable in just about any situation. |

Patrick just retired from Derby Lane in Florida. He was an amazing racer. He was a finalist in the St Petersburg Inaugural in 2013. He was a Matinee Idol Finalist in 2012 and Season's fastest Derby Lane race time 30.22. This guy was a big star! His sire was also very famous - Dodgem By Design and his dam was Akoya Pearl. He raced at 73lbs and has 132 races to his credit. He is a friendly, happy, boy that was one of the kennel favorites. Personality, looks and an amazing athlete - this guy has it all! He is 3.5 years old and celebrates his 4th birthday August 18th. His race trainer has lots of photos of this guy that she will be glad to share that were taken during his career. We still need to cat and small dog dog test Patrick. More as we get to know him. |

Major is an all white, extra large boy that raced at 82lbs. He does have a few fawn freckles in his coat. He just arrived from Derby Lane in Florida and also raced at Southland in Arkansas. His sire is the very famous Molotov so he is related to a lot of dogs we have placed. His dam is Molly Shanan. Major's birthday is Dec 1st 2009. He has 30 races to his credit and was quite the star winning AA races (the top level for the fastest dogs) and competing in Stakes races. He is a friendly, happy boy. Major needs a home without cats but he passed his test with a small dog at his foster home. More as we get to know him. |

Magic is a sweet, friendly boy that just retired from the Orlando Race Track. He has 49 races listed and raced at 78lbs so is a bigger guy. His sire is Freak Show and his Dam is Malwa Passion. We just adopted one of his sisters from the same mom but out of a later litter - Canadian Passion. Magic's birthday is June 3rd. He is a calm, well behaved guy. When we spent time with him at the track he was very quiet in his crate and was careful not to mess up his crate. He did what he was told when it was time to go outside to potty and didn't have accidents in the kennel. He is mostly white with just a few red spots and the sweetest, most gentle eyes. He didn't pay any attention to the cats and small dogs at the vets office so seems like he will be fine to live with either. He has been living with a small furry white dog in his foster home and did well with him. Magic travels well and did great on the long trip up from Florida. He had a minor injury to his shoulder that caused him to retire but that is totally healed now. Magic has been a great foster and did great at his first meet and greet calmly soaking up all the attention that people gave him. He was good with kids and adults and didn't seem nervous. He was great on the shiny floors at PetSmart too. With his calm sweet nature he seems like he would be a really easy first greyhound. He is quiet in his crate so we think he would do well in an apartment or townhouse. |

Hashbrown is a sweet little brindle girl that will be arriving soon from Orlando. She has 71 races listed and raced at 58lbs. Her sire is Kiowa Mon Manny and her dam is Pat C No Harmony. She celebrates her 3rd birthday on April 29th. Hashbrown passed her cat and small dog test at the track so should be fine living with either. Hashbrown is a sweet calm girl that is friendly and just got into the van and laid down so seems to be a very good traveler. Her foster home says she is settling in very well and is doing great with their cats. Update on Hashbrown: She was adopted and renamed Scully. Shortly after adoption, she lost weight and nearly died. After a lot of testing vets diagnosed her with a Pancreatic insufficiency and she recovered but has to have digestive enzymes added to her food for the rest of her life. She is happy very happy at home with her mom and dad. |

May is a young white girl with black spots. She is playful and energetic because of being such a young girl. She is sweet, happy, very outgoing and social. She was a little interested in the cats at first during her cat test but is excitable about most new things. We think she may be OK with them with some supervison and training because she seems to respond well to correction. She has been living in a home with a number of small dogs and was great with them. Her sire is Group Rooster and her dam is Indian Bride. May just turned two on Feb 18th. She only has one race listed. If you want a cute, young, puppyish girl May is the one for you. Because May has shown some sleep startle behaviors we think she would probably do best in a home with no young kids. She loves everyone she meets and has done very well at meet and greets with everyone she meets - kids and adults. She loves attention and will roll over for belly rubs. |

Boots is another girl that was a pretty good racer. She has 14 races listed including some stakes races. She was retired due to a broken leg and became a mom. She has 8 puppies listed that she raised and is now ready to find a couch of her own. Boots is a sweet girl that is quiet and seems very calm. She doesn't wag a lot or bounce around. Just calmly friendly and looks up at you with those huge brown eyes waiting to be petted. Her sire is DK"s Prime Time and her dam is Statin My Case. Boots raced at 65lbs and her birthday is June 15th. Be sure to check her other pictures to see some beautiful ones of her racing! Boots is 7 but could pass for 3 because she has almost no white on her face. If you want a pretty, sweet, quiet, loving girl that is laid back and very good, Boots is your girl!! She is living with a small dog in her foster home and is very good with small dogs. Boots is a little to interested in chasing cats to think she will be safe living with kitties. Boots has good manners in her foster home and nearly potty trained herself. She is very calm and loving. She would be an easy first time greyhound. Her old broken hock was healed long ago and doesn't seem to bother her and definitely doesn't slow her down. She can still run and play with other dogs and likes to go for walks. |

Roy just arrived as a special order for a previous greyhound adopter that lives in Alaska. He will be shipped to her as soon as he is neutered and is cleared for travel. He just arrived from the Tri State adoption kennel and we were surprised to see that he is a littermate to Shane's Top Pick that is also available for adoption that came from Orlando. Roy is a happy outgoing guy that seems like he travels well and will handle the long flight to Alaska with no trouble. He plays with toys and interacts very well with every one he meets. We think he may be good for the dog sports that his owner would like to do with him. His sire is KIowa Mon Manny and his dam is Greys Royal Ivy. His birthday is Feb 14th and he just turned 2. He has no official races listed. |

Snuggle Bear is a sweet older girl that had two careers. The first as a very fine racer that raced at quite a few tracks successfully. Then she had a second career as a mom. She was a good mom and has 19 pups listed. She is finally is ready for a couch now. This is a sweet, friendly girl which is how she got the name Snuggle Bear. She is very calm and well behaved and seems to be a very wise lady. Snuggle Bear qualifies for a reduced adoption fee because she is older - just don't tell her we told you her age. Her DOB is 9/23/01. Snuggle Bear raced at 58lbs so is a smaller girl. She has a cute little tiny face as you can see in her picture. Her sire is the famous Rocksteady Eddie and her dam is Times Flying. Snuggle Bear gets along with other greyhounds very well but still needs to be tested with cats and small dogs. She had a broken leg which caused her to retire initially. She has a bit of a limp on that leg when walking but it doesn't slow her down much when she runs around. She still enjoys running around and has a lot of personality. Snuggle Bear has no idea she has a bad leg or that she is an older girl. She still is very bouncy and happy and greets everyone enthusiastically. If you call her name she comes running to you. She had to have quite a few teeth removed when we got her but still has some left and will still be able to eat normally. She has been a perfect lady in her foster home and has been so perfectly behaved you would think she had been in a home before. Snuggle Bear is a sweet, lovinging girl that would love to have a home and couch of her own. She will be a wonderful easy girl. |

She is a very young girl so still is energetic and has a little puppy in her. She will celebrate her 2nd birthday on February 18th. She is a littermate to SS Mayflower that was just adopted. We adopted Guy to a family back in 2008. We just were contacted by a vet that had a greyhound abandoned there. When we checked the ear tattoos we discovered it was Guy. So Guy is available again at 7 years old. His DOB is Jan 15th of 2006. He has been in an adoptive home since 2008. He is good with cats and small dogs and lived in a home with kids and was wonderful with them. Guy has a very unusual roman nose that makes him very special and cute. His sire is TNT Star Wars and his dam is Coldwater Beth. Guy has come into foster care and is very well behaved. He sleeps in bed with his foster mom and is very loving. He gets along great with a pit bull puppy in his foster home and pays no attention to the cats that live there. He is a very good boy that settled in like he had always been there and seems very happy and well adjusted. Guy does need a fenced yard because he doesn't potty well on leash. He does get nervous in thunderstorms. Guy began limping while in foster care and sadly was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). There is no cure only pain management. One of the vet techs that cared for him decided to adopt him. Guy survived more than a year before losing his battle with cancer. |

Cherry is a sweet, outgoing girl with the cutest tiny, pointy ears. When she gets excited they pop straight up and make her look a little like a doberman. Most of the time they are folded and flopped forward on her face though. Really cute and they give her such character. She will be easy to spot in a crowd of greyhounds because of her cute unusual ears. Cherry was a pretty good racer that has 150 races to her credit. She just retired from Sanford Orlando Track but spent most of her career racing at Palm Beach. Her sire is Maryville Rumble and her dam is Jawa Pattie. Cherry will celebrate her 4th birthday on March 7th. She passed her cat test with no real interest so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. In her photo she looks a little sad but we had just woken her up from a nap. This is not a sad girl - just the opposite. |

Boy is a stunning, dark red brindle male with lots of white on his chest and feet. He has the prettiest rich red coat that looks almost mahogany. He raced at 67lbs so is a smaller guy. His DOB is Aug 11, 2009 so he is 3 years old. He raced 90 races in Tuscon AZ and most recently Sanford Orlando. Boy passed his cat test at the track but was a little interested in a cat he met in foster care so we have him listed as cat trainable. He did respond to correction well and seems to want to please. His sire is TNT Star Wars so he is a half brother to several dogs we have placed and his dam is Unblemished. He is a very friendly, happy guy that seems to be a mid level energy guy. He travels well and was very good on the dog haul. Boy loves playing with toys and collects them if he finds them laying around, he likes to find the squeaker in toys and thinks he needs to find it and take it out. He seems to get along great with small dogs, even very playful ones that lick his face and bother him. Seems like a tolerant guy that has a wonderful, loving personality. Boy is in a foster family that has several young children and he has been very good with them including a 5 month old baby!! They say he is very well behaved and very sweet and is their favorite foster so far. Â |

Brian is a friendly sweet boy that seems pretty calm and laid back. He raced at 6 different race tracks in several states and had a long successful career becoming an A racer and even racing in a few Stakes races. He has 142 races listed. His sire is the famous Dodgem By Design and his dam is Little Kimiko which is the littermate to a dog we placed already. Brian is a beautiful red brindle with only a little striping which makes him very handsome. He raced at 74lbs so is a mid sized male. He is very sweet and seems like he will be calm and well behaved. He has been living in a foster home with a small dog. He hasn't even tried to mark once in the house. He isn't too fond of his kennel and prefers to be in the same room with the people. He has been a little vocal about being in the crate as he has gotten settled in so may not be the best dog for apartment living. He pulls some on leash so we are working on his leash manners. |
