Your Greyhound Crossroads volunteers worked very hard last year, sponsoring many events with the focus of increasing our adoptions and bringing in much-needed funds. As we discussed what could be done to help them be more effective, the idea of a trailer was suggested. Just by coincidence, a dear greyhound friend was going out of business and needed to sell her 'old reliable' transport trailer. Your volunteers are proud to announce our very first trailer! |

She may look a little rough, but most used aluminum trailers do. She's solid and ready to roll though! With a little sprucing up and some loving shine, she'll work just great for transporting our dogs in comfort. She's what they call a 'four-holer', meaning she has four doors and four extra-large transport holes inside. In a pinch, eight greyhounds can be carefully chosen and transported for short hauls. This will help GC move dogs quicker and more efficiently! There's a rack on the top for hauling supplies too, where we hope to mount a toolbox and other supplies. |

What we need to get her
on the road right away:
3 new mounted 13 inch, five lug wheels (best price so far is $58 each at our favorite Greenwood tire place)
The tire size we need....apparently they come premounted on the rim as a 'trailer standard' from farm supply or tire shops.
a standard lighting kit for rewiring the lights-- donated by Anderson Auto Parts! a jack and lug wrench-- donated by Iva Pawn Shop! |
Other things we'd like to have to make the trailer as safe as possible to use: a toolbox w/ simple tools-- a crank-up trailer stand like you'd use for a small boat trailer to keep it level-- donated by Lee's Marine! 5 or 6 keyed-alike padlocks-- safety flashers-- donated by Carquest of Anderson! reflective tape-- donated by Carquest of Anderson! license plate holder-- donated by Mathews RV Sales & Service! carpet & repair work-- vinyl lettering for memorials vinyl lettering for logo and GC info spare wheel mounting bracket flashlights-- donated by Carquest of Anderson! |

Trailer Project, Stage 2! |

A wonderful man, Bonnie Johnson's father........, gave months of his time to overhaul the trailer for us. He did many needed repairs, improved the usability, and made it safe for a bunch of ladies to drive to Florida. Thanks Bonnie's Dad! You're AWESOME! |
Trailer mats have been purchased with generous donations from our members. They've been been ordered from.................. We'll share pictures when they arrive! |
| The next step is to purchase the memorial decals and other decorations for the trailer. We hope to get that done this summer. | |
