He raced at Palm Beach and Flagler tracks briefly but spent most of his career at the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He was a pretty good racer there getting up to the top A level. He raced at 73lbs. Raisin's sire is the famous Yahoo Omar and his dam is JS Luv My Harley. He won't turn 4 until November 1st. Raisen seems like a pretty calm boy that is sweet and friendly. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily without any interest in chasing either. He is a very sweet guy that should make an awesome pet for some lucky family.

He only has two schooling races listed and didn't do well in those. His last schooling race listed was 5/22/17. He stayed at the track racing kennel since then in hopes he would get better eventually. When that didn't happen Tommy was sent to the track's adoption kennel, where we picked him up. His sire is the famous Djays Octane and his dam is Kane's Laney. Tommy likes kids and has done well with small dogs he has met. Tommy passed his cat test with just a little initial interest but corrected well so should be able to live with cats with some initial supervision. He is a friendly happy guy.

Amy
Age:
2
Color/Gender:
Brindle Female
Cat Tolerance:
No
Small Dog Tolerance:
Yes
Good w/ Children:
Yes
Fostered by (location):
Kaage (Augusta GA)
Adoption Status: Adopted by the Hillier family of Charlotte NC 3/21/18

Amy is a young girl that only had 4 schooling races and never an official race. She started out her schooling at Palm Beach and then was moved to Sanford Orlando for one more attempt before she was retired and sent to us. She is a small girl at just 56lbs. She just turned 2 on February 27th. Her sire is Fuzzy's Cannon and her dam is Amazing Run. She was too excited about the cat when she met it, so needs a home with no kitties. She did great with the small dogs she met so should be able to live with them. Amy also likes kids. This is a fun, happy girl that is very friendly. Since Amy is so young she does still have some playful puppy energy. This little girl is completely a fresh slate that will be a lot of fun for her future family to work with and mold into the perfect dog. Amy learns fast and has learned how to walk politely on leash since she arrived. She understands the leash now and that she can't bolt after squirrels she sees. She does not go potty on walks and waits until she gets back to her own fenced yard to do her business off leash. So she will need a home with a fenced yard. Amy loves to play with toys and will carry stuff around. During a recent construction project at her foster home she would find bits of tile or other construction stuff and carry it around and play with it. Her foster home has really fallen in love with her sweet quirky personality and say she will be one that is harder than most to part with when she finds a home.

Fostered by (location):

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Glass Family of Fayetteville NC 3/15/18

Sparks just arrived from the Daytona Beach Race Track. She only had 6 schooling races there and finished so far back in every one of those that she never actually had an official race.  She is a very young girl that won't turn 2 until April 20th Sparks looks like a tiny little body builder. She is very short but stocky and raced at 61lbs. Her sire is Atascocita Gray and her dam is Backwood Barbra. She was initially interested in the cat until the cat slapped her, then she didn't want to get near the cat again. We think she would be trainable with a confident cat with supervision. Sparks did fine with an Italian Greyhound that she met. She is settling in to foster care very well. She whined to let her foster dad know that she needed to go outside from the first day in a home. She was initially nervous on stairs but figured them out within a few hours. Sparks doesn't like to go potty on leash, so probably will need a home with a fenced yard where she can pick the perfect spot to go and have her privacy. She does seem to pick up new things very quickly and doesn't seem to stressed by new things except for shiny floors. She is still learning that it is OK to walk on shiny floors and they do bother her to begin with. Her name fits her, Sparks is a happy, friendly, silly, girl that seems like she has a bouncy, fun personality. She does need some more work on her leash manners because she is very curious and wants to go check out everything.

Dutch Kolby
Racing Name:

Pet/Kennel Name:
Kolby
Age:

Color/Gender:
Dark Brindle Male
Cat Tolerance:
Yes
Small Dog Tolerance:
Yes
Good w/ Children:

Fostered by (location):
Scheffield Family Atlanta GA Area
Adoption Status: Adopted by the Tastad Family of Jacksonville FL 3/11/18

Kolby is a large 83lb male that had a very long racing career of 237 races. It is pretty rare for a greyhound to still be competitive after their 5th birthday and Kolby turned 5 on November 4th. He had a career that was much longer than most. He raced at Orange Park most of the time and raced at A and B level most of his career there, so was good. When he started to slow down a bit he was moved to Sanford Orlando Race Track in 2016 in hopes he would still be competitive there. He was retired after a little over a year there. His sire is Dutch Drummer and his dam is Dutch Sweet Kate. Kolby is a sweet, calm, loving guy.  He passed his cat and small dog tests easily without interest in chasing either. He was more interested in getting attention from the people than the cat or the small fluffy dog. He is exceptionally loving and good with people and a very well behaved guy that wants to please. He absolutely loves having other greyhounds around and loved going to an all greyhound doggy day care. We think he would do best in a home with another greyhound. He needs a fenced yard because he doesn't potty well on leash and likes to find that special spot and have privacy to do his business. Kolby has been in a home since late January but he just never was happy there. His owner has a number of other dogs that steal his beds or try to curl up with him. Kolby is good with the other dogs but doesn't seem to be sure what to make of the other breeds and just gets up and moves off the bed politely. The other dogs seem to be drawn to him and won't leave him alone. If his adoptive mom corrects the other dogs for taking his bed or bothering him, sensitive Kolby thinks he did something wrong and leaves the room. His adoptive mom has decided that although, Kolby is the perfect, loving, sweet, dog, he would be happier in a different home, one with greyhounds and fewer other breeds of dogs. At the track Kolby lived with a large pack of other greyhounds, but he had his own crate where he could eat and sleep undisturbed. He has been boarded with other greyhounds and he was happiest in a boarding situation around other greyhounds. He was reported to have a calming effect on the other dogs he was boarded with.

Cat Tolerance:

Small Dog Tolerance:

Good w/ Children:
Older Children Only
Fostered by (location):
Erskine, Simpsonville SC
Adoption Status: Adopted by the Willis Family of Greer SC 3/9/18

Spin came in from the Mardi Gras Race Track at the beginning of January. She raced 97 races in all and traveled from track to track a good bit. She also raced at Flagler, Naples Ft Myers, and Palm Beach and traveled back and forth between those tracks. Racers are often moved from track to track in hopes they will find a place where they are competitive when they are not winning at one track. Spin is a 64lb red girl that turned 3 on June 3rd. Her sire is KC and All and her dam is Electra Chick. Spin is sweet and likes people. Although Spin has loved the children she has met, she can be a little touchy about her space when laying down. She would do best in a home without small children that won't understand that. Spin is silent in her crate so may be a good apartment dog. She was a little overwhelmed at first by all the changes in her life and was a little nervous, but has settled in well now. She passed her cat test and small dog tests easily so should be able to live with either.

Color/Gender:

Cat Tolerance:
Trainable
Small Dog Tolerance:
Yes
Good w/ Children:
Older Children Only
Fostered by (location):
Wilkie, Anderson SC
Adoption Status: Adopted by the Green family of Savannah GA 3/3/18

Heather had her last official race at the Sanford Orlando Track on June 17th. She also raced at Derby Lane and had a total of 52 races listed. Heather is a dark brindle girl that raced at 71lbs and turned 3 on October 29th. Her entire litter was named for the characters on the Netflix series House Of Cards. We have already placed her littermate Frank Underwood and her sister Skorsky. Her sire is KC and All and her dam is D's Honey Badger. Heather was a pretty good racer getting up to B level in June. She got a sore hip though so was pulled out of racing for a few months to give it time to heal. After her long break her trainers gradually got her back into shape for racing, but when she chased the lure again her hip got sore again. So now she has been retired for good. Her hip is fine for normal pet activities and she runs and plays without a limp now. Heather is a friendly girl that likes people. She sticks very close to her foster mom from the time she got to her house. She has paid no attention to the small dog in her foster home so should be OK to live with them. She was very interested in the first cat she met, but after the cat slapped her once, she wouldn't get near it again. She should be trainable with supervision with a confident cat. Heather likes kids a lot and goes right up to them and gives kisses. Even though she loves kids we think she should be placed in a home without small kids and their toys. We were told that she loves toys and will steal them and doesn't like to give them back. Heather was perfectly behaved at the vet and has settled in to her foster home really well. She is a very sweet loving girl.

She is coming from the Melbourne Race track and also raced some of her 56 races at Derby Lane, Sanford Orlando and Mardi Gras tracks in Florida. She only won 4 races so was moved around in hopes her owners could find a track that she would be competitive at, but that wasn't to be the case. In her last race she wasn't paying attention and missed the break out of the box. She still managed to come in 6th, but they decided to retire her. Catalpa is a 62lb red female that is young and won't turn 3 until June 27th. Her sire is Shonn and her dam is Superior Tingler. Catalpa is a very friendly girl that was hard to get pictures of because she would run right over for an extreme closeup as soon as she saw anyone come in. She really likes people and seems like a very happy, outgoing girl. Catalpa passed her cat and small dog tests so should be able to live with either. She loved the kids she rode to the vet with and kept trying to get in their laps in the car.

Schoenberger Family
Adoption Status: Adopted by the Schoenberger family 3/2/18

Tig is a retired brood mom that just retired from being a mom and is coming to us from a farm in Arkansas. She had a litter of 7 pups in 2014 and had another litter recently. We already have one of the most recent puppies that is pending adoption now.  We also placed her sister Rico's By A Nose recently. Tig was a star at the race track and was a finalist in the 2010 Wheeling WVGOBA Juvenile Stakes Race. She competed in other big stakes races too during her career. She raced at the top A and AA levels. Tig started out racing at Wheeling Downs in WV in 2010 and moved to Tri State Race track in WV in January of 2011 and raced the rest of her career there. She retired in March of 2013 after 139 races after racing her entire career at the top levels and winning many races. Since she was such a good racer her owners decided to let her become a mom in hopes her racing skill would be passed on to the next generation. Now she is finished with mom duties and is in full retirement. Her sire is the very famous Flying Penske and her dam is Myokie Flame. Tig turned 9 on November 24th. Because Tig is an older girl she qualifies for our reduced senior adoption fee of $250. Tig passed her small dog test easily and is being fostered in a home with cats so we should know how she does with them very soon. She is a good traveler and just lays down and enjoys the ride. She is a happy girl that doesn't act nine at all. She is curious and seems to take everything in stride without being stressed. She is very friendly and likes meeting people. More as we get to know her.

Shy is coming in from the Mardi Gras Race Track in Florida. She only had a few schooling races there and finished so far back she was out of the picture in one and just stopped in the front stretch in her last schooling race. Since she was clearly not interested in racing, she was retired young at only a year and a half old. Shy will turn 2 on July 17th. She is a 64lb light fawn brindle girl. Her sire is the famous SH Avatar and her dam is Jet Force. When Shy arrived she was actually pretty shy and very overwhelmed. She may take a lot of time and patience to warm up to her new family. Everything seems to scare her at first. Shy passed her small dog test. She was actually afraid of the small dog but would get brave enough to cautiously sniff him. We didn't cat test her because she was so scared. We figured one test that day was enough for her.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the White family of Simpsonville SC

Izzy is a greyhound puppy that was stepped on by her mother when tiny. Her leg broke and wasn't able to heal correctly without surgery. Look at her other photos to see her X-rays. Pro Greyhound, a group that takes in injured greyhounds, gets them the surgery they need, and rehabilitates them after surgery, got her the surgery she needed. The orthopedic surgeon charged $2500 to have it done. Please help fund her surgery if you can by going to their page for info - Pro Greyhound. The puppy will be in a cast then a splint for some time and won't be released for adoption until February or March. The surgical repair was successful and the leg should be usable again if her rehab goes as expected. Although her leg has to be painful she is used to it and takes it all in stride. She is a sweet friendly girl that is completely a puppy and not the calm, well behaved, retired dog that most greyhound owners are used to. As with all puppies she will need supervision and training and will have to be taught manners.  She will needs an experienced owner that can help her become a well behaved adult. Her sire is Group Rooster and her mom is Rico's Tagnanello. She was born July 7 of 2017. She was tattooed at 3 months with her siblings.

Rascal just arrived from the Mardi Gras Race Track in Hallandale Beach Florida. He also raced briefly at Derby Lane near Tampa. He only raced 11 races and the best he did was to place 4th in one of those. In the rest, he was back toward the back of the pack. Because he didn't show any promise as a racer he retired very young. Rascal won't even turn 2 until May 15th. He raced at 71lbs and is a gorgeous, shiny, dark brindle guy. He is friendly and seems pretty calm for such a young guy. He does need some more work on walking on leash without pulling because his race career was so short and he didn't get much experience with that. Rascal passed his cat and small dog tests without much interest so should be able to live with both. His sire is KL's Raymond and his dam is Kiowa Tara Tess. Rascal whined some in his crate a bit the first night but quieted down the next day so we don't know if he will be OK for apartment living. More as we get to know him.

Daffodil is a cute fawn female that will turn 7 on June 2nd. She is a small girl that raced at just 56lbs. Her sire is the famous Kelsos Fusileer and her dam is Kelsos Spitfire. She raced 57 races at Mardi Gras and Flagler in FL and Dubuque in IA. She mostly raced at the lower levels but did compete in a few A races. Daffodil raced her last race December 1st of 2014. She was retired to a farm to be a brood mom but didn't end up actually ever having pups. We got her in early 2016 and she was adopted by a family in March of 2016. That family moved to Florida recently and didn't have time for Daffodil due to a new grandbaby and travel for work. They gave her to a another family there, that turned her over to the adoption group at the Orange Park Race Track in Florida. We work closely with that track adoption group so they contacted us and got her a ride back to our group. Daffodil has been in a home for nearly 2 years so is home acclimated. She was living with cats in her previous home and would share the couch with them and never bothered them. She was also used to being around children and was good with them. We heard she could be an occasional counter surfer and had chewed a few things when left home unsupervised. Fortunately Daffodil does great if left in a crate when home alone, so that prevents any unwanted behavior. She likes her crate and often goes in the crate to rest on her own when the door is open. Daffodil doesn't really like traveling and long rides. She is friendly and likes people but prefers to be a homebody. She is so pretty and very very sweet!

Black Male
Cat Tolerance:

Small Dog Tolerance:

Good w/ Children:

Fostered by (location):
Bowden, Greenville
Adoption Status: Adopted by the Jacobson Family of Irmo SC 2/3/18

Dudley initially came in from the Brindle Kennel at the Palm Beach Race Track. He never had an official race, because he had an injury to his hock while he was in race training. It has completely healed and he has been in an adoptive home since May of 2017. Dudley was just returned to us on 1/6/18 by his owner Jamie Pilgrim of Pickens. On arrival he only weighed 42lbs and was a walking skeleton with much of his hair missing and open pressure sores. Dudley is under vet care and against all odds seems like he will recover, probably because he is so young. Our vet has checked him over and his blood work looks normal and nothing was found that would cause this other than starvation. Dudley turned 2 on August 16th and is a mid sized male that should be at least 75lbs. His sire is Djays Octane and his dam is Hey Dodi Lou. Dudley is a cute, friendly boy that seems pretty calm for a 2 year old. He is quiet in his crate so may be a good dog for a townhouse. He passed his cat and small dog tests easily. He loves being around other greyhounds and dogs and is much more happy and waggie when they are around. He was a bit more reserved at his first foster family's home where he was an only dog. Dudley is an adorable, loving guy that is already home acclimated.  He is terrific with small children and dogs of any size, even those around him who may be very energetic and playful.  He currently needs a daily thyroid pill which is very inexpensive. The good pictures of Dudley are all from when he first arrived from the track. Some photos of him after his return and his ongoing recovery are in his other pictures.

Update Jan 14th: Dudley is eating well and has soft beds to lay on now. Most of his pressure sores are scabbed over. He still has a long way to go but looks like he is slowly putting on weight.

Update Jan 20th: Dudley is still doing great and has put on 10lbs. He weighs 52lbs now! Our vet is very pleased with his progress.

Update Jan 26th Owner Jamie Pilgrim of Pickens pled guilty to felony animal cruelty.

Update Feb 3rd Dudley has a new family pending his release from the vet! The Jacobson family of Irmo SC wanted to make his adoption final on the day of his Dashing For Dudley Fundraiser when they met him. He can't go home with them and their other greyhounds quite yet because our vet wants him to stay close until he has put on more weight. His adoption contract has been signed and completed so he officially has a family now and will be home very soon. Dudley's generous fans raised over $1000 for him during the fund raiser!!

Dom just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He is a young guy that had a very short career of only 3 races and finished last in all of those. Dom is a handsome black male that raced at 73lbs. He is very young and won't even turn 2 until May 18th. His sire is Golden Squire and his dam is B My Merlot. Dom passed his cat test at the track so should be fine to live with cats or small dogs. He hasn't shown any interest in the cats he has met since either. Dom is very sweet and friendly, so much so that it was hard for his foster mom to take pictures of him. Whenever he saw her looking at him he would come straight over to her to get attention. Dom likes to play with toys. He has done just a little whining but is mostly quiet in his kennel. He has an outgoing but calm personality. Dom walks great on leash and has no problem with stairs or slick floors. No accidents in the house and will whine when he needs to go outside. Very well mannered and pays attention when corrected.

Her sire is the famous Djays Octane and her dam is Kane's Sugar Ray. Shania has been a little overwhelmed since she arrived. She seems like a sensitive, cautious girl that just needs a little time to warm up to new people and new situations. She is friendly and does cautiously approach strangers with her tail a little tucked at first. She seems like she will warm up fast. Shania did not pass her cat test. She did lose interest in a still cat eventually, but kept wanting to chase it whenever it moved, so we think she needs a home without kitties. She was similar with the little dogs she met, but did do better eventually after being around the one in her foster home for awhile, so she may do better with time. She just has a hard time resisting anything that is small that moves fast at first.

Adoption Status: Adopted by the Ziemer Family of Greenville SC 1/31/18

Nokerr had no official races. We did find 6 schooling races at Palm Beach Race Track for her and she finished toward the back of the pack in those. Nokerr retired very young and won't even turn two until April 20th. She raced at 60lbs. Her sire is Coldwater Konow and her dam is TB's Star Baby. She was initially very interested in the cat she saw but after the cat slapped her once she backed off. She cautiously went up for another sniff and got slapped again. Then she stayed as far away from the cat as she could. So we think she may be trainable with a confident cat and plenty of supervision. Nokerr did great with an Italian Greyhound in her foster home so should be OK with small dogs. Initially she was very vocal in her kennel when she first arrived but corrected well and has quieted down now. Nokerr may not be a good choice for apartment living, because she has sounded the alarm when she sees someone outside that she doesn't think should be there. She does sleep all night by herself in her kennel so may do fine as an only dog. She walks nicely on leash and did great on her first walk in the park. She is friendly with people she meets and seems pretty calm for one that is so young.

Alexa just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. She actually had 5 maiden races at Derby Lane first, but came in toward the back of the pack every time. Just too slow, so was moved to Orlando in hopes she would be more competitive there. She schooled a few times there and was retired without an official race. Alexa is a pretty white girl with fawn (tan) spots. She raced at 63lbs and won't turn 2 until March 4th so is very young. Her sire is the famous Djays Octane and her dam is Penrose Karrie. She was interested in the cat she met at the race track, but we retested here and she just sniffed the cat. When the cat slapped her she wouldn't go near it again and just wanted to get out of the room. She was curious and a little playful when introduced to the small dog but was intimidated by the yappy little dogs at the vet's office. She seems like a sensitive girl that is a little unsure of everything new right now. More as we get to know her.

Andy just arrived from the Sanford Orlando Race Track. He also raced at Bluffs Run, Sarasota, and Ebro. He raced 138 races and was good getting up to A level and even competing in a Stakes race. Andy is a smaller, red, male that raced at 66lbs. He will turn 5 on July 26th. His sire is Little Andy and his dam is Pal WW Wendy. Andy passed his cat test and small dog tests. Very friendly and happy guy that is fun and bouncy. He is very curious about everything and doesn't seem to be phased by all the changes in his life. Andy was so comfortable that he was laying on his back in his kennel with his feet in the air in what we call the greyhound "roach" within a few hours of arriving from the track. Greyhounds do this when they are very relaxed and comfortable and many take months to get that comfortable in a new home. Andy is a very sweet happy guy that loves everyone.

So Dr Pepper never had a career as a racer and that is why he is already retired and won't even turn 2 until April 26th. He is a young guy that is playful and loves to play with toys. Dr Pepper is a friendly sweet guy with a waggy tail. He weighs around 70lbs His sire is the famous Lonesome Cry and his dam is Ranger Trent. More as we get to know him.

Adoption Status: Adopted to the Foster family 1/20/18

Cord came to us from a Florida farm where he has been living since he retired from racing in March of 2016. He had been waiting over a year and a half for a group to take him. He only raced 36 races in Palm Beach and only actually won 2 of those. Cord turned 4 on June 20th. His sire is the famous Craigie Whistler and his dam is Atascocita Miama, He was owned by Atascocita Racing which is why that is the first part of his name. Cord has a very old break to his back right leg that is long healed and shouldn't cause him any problems as a pet. He can play normally but does have a slight limp so probably would prefer shorter walks rather than long hikes. Cord travels well and just got in the van and laid down. He potties on leash nicely so may do fine without a fenced yard, if someone was willing to leash walk him. He is very quiet so may be good for a townhouse or apartment. He seems like a very calm, well behaved guy that is calmly friendly. Cord liked the children he met and was fine even with a cat running past him. Cord seems to be exceptionally low prey drive and had no interest even in chinchillas he lived with. He did great at a doggy daycare with even the smaller dogs. Cord is very laid back and is perfectly happy laying on his bed watching things going on around him and doesn't need to be the center of attention. After Cord gets comfortable with his family he is playful.

Chains just arrived from the Melbourne Race Track. He also raced briefly at Flagler and Mardi Gras tracks, but wasn't able to win one race at either. He was fast enough to place in the few races he did race though. After being moved to Melbourne they entered him in two schooling races and he refused to even run. Since Chains is the rare greyhound that would rather not chase the lure. When he met cats and small dogs he didn't want to chase them either, so would be fine to live with either. Chains is a 75lb brindle male that turned 2 on September 10th. His Sire is SH Avatar and his dam is DK"s Send All. Chains was very concerned about slick floors and didn't want to walk on them at all so will need some coaching there. He is a friendly happy guy that likes people.

Shorty just arrived from the Brindle Kennel. Her last race was at the Flagler track on 10/27/17 where she broke her leg. She was casted by a vet at the track and wore it there at the track for 6 weeks. She has been released from vet care and is doing well on the leg. She is a red female that just turned 3 on Dec 17th. She raced at 62lbs. Her sire is SH Avatar and her dam is KL's Shannon. Our vet checked Shorty and her leg is stable so she feels like it has healed well. Shorty still holds it up sometimes when standing, but can get around on it just fine. She may continue to have a slight limp on it or favor it just a little, but she should be able to run around and have fun like any other dog. Shorty is very sweet and likes the kids in her foster home. Shorty passed her cat and small dog tests easily and seemed a little afraid of the cat. She is very affectionate and sweet too.

Kahlua came in from the Brindle Kennel at Palm Beach. She raced 44 races and also raced at Southland in Arkansas and Mardi Gras in Florida. She briefly got up to A level. She raced at 66lbs and turned 3 on October 17th. Kahlua is a very very tall leggy girl that was taller than the 77lb male that she arrived with. She is white with just a couple of dark red spots that nearly look brown. She is just stunning! Her sire is Djays Octane and her dam is KL's Tasha. She walked through the lobby of the vet's office that was full of small dogs and didn't pay much attention to them and is being fostered with a small white dog so she should be OK to live with small dogs. She also passed her cat test and even when the cat ran through the house didn't show any interest in chasing. She is a bit unsure of herself at first and will approach with her head lowered submissively but she is friendly and wants petting. She will lean up against you and give the greyhound hug. We also think we saw a small grin once when she got excited. She seems like a pretty calm girl that traveled well.

Topsy just arrived from a farm in Tampa. He has no races listed so just didn't show much promise as a racer when he was in schooling. He turned 2 on April 21st. His sire is Atascocita Bowl and his dam is Atascocita Hush. Topsy is a medium sized guy that is very sweet. He loves people and loves to snuggle. Topsy has a wonderful, friendly, happy personality. He is a gorgeous deep red with cute ears that stand straight up when he is checking something out. Topsy was too interested in the first cat he was tested with, so we had him listed as needing a home with no cats. We gave him some time and retested him with another cat and was fine with that cat. Sometimes they calm down a bit after retirement. We think he is likely to be trainable now with supervision and can introduce him to your individual cat to see how he reacts. Topsy lived with some 35lb medium sized dogs in his first foster home and was fine with them. He met a toy poodle and a chihuahua and was friendly and appropriate with them too.  He is wonderful with children and is being fostered in a home with several kids and loves to play with them and snuggle with them. Topsy is calm and very well behaved in the house. He does get excited to check everything out and to greet everyone when on walks so we are working on his leash skills. He travels great and loves to go for rides. This cute guy will make a wonderful happy companion.

Indy came in from the Alves Kennel at the Daytona track. She also raced a few races at Orange Park in Florida. Her racing owner is a friend of our group's and she asked if we would find her an adoptive home. Indy is a tiny girl that raced at just 53lbs. She only raced 10 races and always finished towards the back of the pack. Her first 3 races she was so far back she wasn't even in the picture, so she was retired right away. Indy just turned 2 on November 6th so is very young. Her sire is Hi Noon Renegade and her dam is SL Wolfgang. Indy passed her small dog test easily and is being fostered with a small white dog. She also passed her cat test. She seemed like she had met a cat before and cautiously avoided going near it at all. Indy is pretty outgoing, happy and curious about everything. We are working on her leash skills because she pulls some. She is normally very quiet and well behaved in her kennel, once she got used to it, but occasionally she can complain a bit so we think she probably would be too loud for apartment living. Indy is loving and gives gentle kisses. She is a natural sitter and you will see her sitting on dog beds frequently which is unusual because many greyhounds are uncomfortable in that position. Indy is a very sweet little girl.
